Afternnon all... being back at work sucks!! This time last week we were back in the Solarium pool after sweating our butts off in Grand Cayman!

rita, sorry about your teams...at least you get a nice day off!
I am still trying to catch up with myself after this cruise...I don't remember ever being so tired after a cruise..especially when I wasn't up late while I was onboard...sure hope it doesn't mean I'm getting OLD!

Ph, how cool on the butterfly pics..you must have good plants to attrack the butterflies to stay...

BB, what a pain to have all the food ready & then find out it was for the wrong week...I think I'd be telling someone they were gonna have to do it themselves next time...

had my sister's over yesterday...gaad...don't they ever stay home?? Just kidding...Amanda's boyfriend is here from Maryland & she wanted him to meet my Dad...only problem.. Dad forgot & never showed up for lunch..we tried calling but there was no answer.. we knew Wendy had to take her daughter to the airport..so she will probably get "blamed" for him not remembering...oh well...at least Jane brought lunch...

Neat butterfly pictures, PH. I'm surprised that metamorphosis ($10. word of the day!!:clap is still taking place this late in the season. You might have to buy your little butterfly a ticket south to migrate to where he/she is supposed to go for the winter. Might be too young or too small to make such a trip.
You did so good with these pictures, that I now have another assignment for you ... Next time you see a snake track it with pictures of when it sheds its skin. We used to find the discarded skins in our yard all the time in Ocala!

KC - Sorry you're still feeling so tired after your trip. That stinks!

Other things that interest me about EPIC is that they have Blue Man Group and a Cirque show in one of the restaurants. It would be nice just to see something different from the same old same old.

Just cut up all the veggies for tonight. Man, I hope the gang comes hungry! Otherwise Bert will be eating them all week!!!

Dont really know much about Monarchs,but I guess with this weather, they think its time to hatch..........I had 3 chrysalis...the last two hatched on Sat..........Mike(who i post with elsewhere) sent me lots of info on them too...........

Sorry you're so tired,KC.maybe just cause you didnt have your normal schedule?? I know Im beat after cruises,but Im not used to going to be so late and getting up and going,going.............feel better!

KC, We all commented on how tired we were after the EN cruise. I wonder if it was because of the heat. That at least sounds better than it's because we are getting old!

Went to the craft store today to get our Gift exchange stuff for the Oct. 27 cruise. I got note papers and magnets showing the Swan Boats in Boston and Bill got a picture of the Make Way for Ducklings statue in the Boston Garden. The gift is supposed to represent something from your area, so I think we did good. Then we drove to the beach to have lunch, and went to a place we haven't been to in along time. Place has all been done over and food was good. However, two tables away from us was a couple, she in a wedding gown, crown and white shoes (no veil), he in a tuxedo, both of them having some sort of fish for lunch. No one else was with them. When the waitress gave them the check (which SHE paid by the way, causing my DH to mention that he was starting out on the right foot, letting her pay), the waitress congratulated them on their "nuptials".
I thought it sad and strange that if they bothered to get dressed up for a wedding, they didn't have anyone to celebrate with them. Then we stopped at Lisa and Jason's and when we mentioned what we had seen, they told us about a couple who shared their dining room table on their honeymoon cruise. The couple got married Saturday, but got on the plane Sunday with her wearing her wedding gown and veil.....do you think they were looking for an upgrade to first class. We all laughed thinking about how crammed you are in an airplane seat, and wondered how she managed to fit with her gown! I guess it takes all kinds.

Been really usy the last week and this past weekend.

Last Wednesday Our cat, Elvira, died. She was not the same when we picked her up after our Alaska trip......I don't think that she ate anything at all. She just faded away infront of the fireplace on Wednesday evening. That same day, Matthew's BIL hit a parked semi while riding his motorcycle. He's still in the hospital with two shattered elbows and they have him in an induced coma due to a bruise on his brain... He now has pneumonia and cannot move his right side.

Tomorrow, Matthew, Patti and I fly to Seattle to close out her brother's condo and move his belongings to Watsonville in a big Penske truck.....should be back Friday evening.

My dad called me tonite & said they thought his dog, dee-dee got bit by a rattlesnake..they killed a huge one on the yard & she had been trying to go after it..when he called me he said she had run off & they couldn't find her..but after talking to him he said her face was bleeding real bad & that maybe she had cut it on the chain link fence trying to get to the snake.. talked to him a little while ago & he said she had come back home but was still bleeding..I'm thinking she didn't get bit..since it's been over 3 hours & she's not a very big dog..they had called the vet when it 1st happened...anti venon for the dog...$1,000 a pop..who has that kind of money...

rita, you're right..that does sound like a strange wedding party...maybe their friends had to work & they are going to have a party later? Or they were headed to an early halloween party???

KC---If the dog was bit,it would had swollen up........thats what happened to one of my dogs when it was bit by a water mocassin........we got her to the vet ASAP or else she would had died.........it doesnt take long.........so it sounds like the dog wasnt bit..........

San - Will keep Matthew's BIL in our thoughts and prayers that all will be well. I talked to Missy tonight. Her SIL hit a car that ran a red light yesterday. She's in the hospital with a badly broken wrist which will require surgery and had some of her teeth knocked out.
Sorry to hear about Elvira. Definitely sounds like she was waiting for you to come home. Our furry pets definitely are part of the family.

Rita - Sounds like you got perfect things for your cruise. That's really sad that a newly wed couple should be alone like that. You have to wonder what gives there.

Dinner was delicious, if I must say so myself. Now it's time to go watch Jay Leno and call it a night.

Elvira was 17....we think....maybe 18....Angeline rescued her from a Target parking lot in October 1993.....the vet at the time said she looked to be 18 months.

Dad called me this morning & said Dee-Dee didn't make it...she died about 9 last night..this was the dog I sat for this summer...she was a good pup..

Oh yeah ... That was one heck of a year! Some really classic material ended up on that thread. I wonder what happened to the copy of all those posts that Marcia kept? I hope someone has it. You couldn't duplicate that early thread if you tried. Wonder what ever happened to some of the original posters like TH. I'll never forget Colin looking for his cabin which didn't show on the BR deck plan. He was too funny with his magnifying glass pictures and wondering if he'd have to build his own cabin once on board!!
