Turns out the NICE LITTLE OLD 87 year old lady ate some Chinese Food last night and she and her husband who is 85 yrs YOUNG think they have food poisoning. How sad. She never made it today. This lady only weighs 70 pounds dripping wet. She can't afford to get sick like that. I'll have to call her later on to check on her.

Okay, I'm out of here........it's pouring RAIN here right now.::eek:

I got food poisoning once from Chinese food....back in 1982.............I will NEVER forget it........wound up in the ER.....took several years to eat it again.............even now I hardly ever have it.............

Just dropping by to say good night. We're getting ready to head for Kris & Gary's house for dinner. I doubt I'll make it back later though, as the computer hog will claim the computer like he always does in the evening!

[size=medium]Hi there PH!! Just waiting for the weather to cool off outside so I can go for a walk. Art's biking and I'm bored.

Nite......... Think I'll try some leftover Strawberry Margarita and see what it tastes like. My ankles are swollen for this humidty already, so the booze will just help them swell more!! I'll be sleeping with the pillows under them tonight.
I think if I could change my legs/feet I'd be a happy camper!! Well, for a little while anyways.[/size]

PH - Hey...I'm always close by for lunch...I heard they opened a new place down on the square where "Duke's" used to be.

BB - I'm waiting to see the backlash on the no-step up...I know teacher's look for that little jump every year...the other twist is if you retire thru FRS or any other retirement (out-of-state) and want to come back...lots of teachers do that....you can not claim your experience since you have "retire" and those years are used...you would come back at 1st year pay.
I don't have to worry about Gary...he works for the county not the school board. He's already ahead of the game...they get 10-12 holidays a year and school board gets 5.

Rained all afternoon and now it's a little cooler outside. Kittens are playing in the screen room...probably looking for frogs...they're always catching the little tree frogs. Going to Disney with Tracy tomorrow..meeting one of Gary's friends who will get us in. I promised her for her birthday (we were on the cruise) that we would go for Star Wars weekend.

Our over the range microwave went kaput...think the computer/keypad went out, so now need to buy another. At least Lowes and Home Depot have them on sale this week with no interest for 12 months...May buy the same model, since we know that will fit.

Good evening. yeah, after yesterday, my brain just shut down PH.

Been looking after Trousers all afternoon. I took him up to our yard so he could watch Nancy and I eat out on the patio. He met Elvira.....who didn't back down from him at all.....he just looked at her like she was some curious object....he did eat all of her food though. Then I took him back down to his house to give him dinner.

Have you seen the posts on the cancelled Oct 18 Jewel cruise? Getting a little heavy on CC. I know more, I'll let you know later.

PQ: Such a shame that everyone is going to miss out on raises. I always said and WILL ALWAYS SAY "teachers are the most UNDERPAID servants I know. It's hard to believe that they don't get more respect and money. Gary sounds like he gets as many paid holidays as Artie use to get at Fords. All I can say is I'm glad Art worked at Fords when he did. It was a "Great Place To Work" when he was there. Amazing how things changed so quickly in this USA!!

SAN: I love the fact that Trouser ate the cats food. Too funny. It was like a SNACK for him.

Art just left for his Friday morning bike ride. They do about 40 miles and then EAT breakfast in this old little town in the country. I swear he's NOT losing any weight this year because of all these BREAKFAST times after the rides. :cool: Not a good thing!!

It's going to be humid and hot out there today. I'm off to read some CC stuff and then get going on a early walk.

Marcia, there was a fire and breakdown of the new Diesel Generator installed on Jewel in May. New parts have to be manufactured in Italy and the ship needs to be drydocked so that another hole can be cut in the side to get the parts in. Back about three weeks ago, the TransAtlantic was scheduled to be cut short in order to do the work. That's why I asked you if you were still planning on going as I was starting to think of a shortened TransAtlantic with a seven day Canada / New England as a B2B.. I was sworn to secrecy because someone was asking for ideas on how to impact the least number of pax. In the end, RCCL decided to cancel a five dayer out of Boston.

I think that person simply replied on the wrong thread PH.

and to think,we were THIS close to booking that Oct 18th cruise........were gonna use up our airfare.........it would be a good deal though............can go on the 7 night for the same price........oh well...............

I have rum in the house ....looking around.....also have a banana..........think I'll attempt a banana daiquiri...........I have been enjoying making these drinks.........and just think that rum has been sitting around since last year............

[large]Somebody must have pissed off the Arabs again..............GAS went to $4.25 and Diesel is $4.80 a gal. UNREAL. I filled up yesterday at Costco for $3.94 a gal. This is just horrible.[/large]

Marcia - Thanks for mentioning corn on the cob. I need to pick some up for the 4th and forgot to put it on next week's shopping list.

PH - While you're out shopping, stop at Albertson's. They have stone crab claws for $4.99 this weekend. I need to send Bert for some later. They are so good!!!

Not much going on around here today. The boys are here for the day while Missy is in school. If the rains hold off, might have some friends over this afternoon for happy hour. All I need to do is figure out some snack to feed them and I'd be good to go.
