Kathie - This isn't chicken parm. It' baked chicken with a parmesan mayo mix on top and then with Italian bread crumbs sprinkled on top. I still have to make all the veggies to go with it, so it's more work than chicken parm, at least to me it is.

Lee - Spell check played games with me again too. We are going OUT for dinner with G&E. M&J are the ones eating leftovers.

Time to say good night and shut the computer down. I need to get this dinner started before anyone get home. Bert had to go get the kids as Jimmy is stuck on I-4 in Sanford and he would have had to pay a late fee. We're going to be eating later tonight for sure.

Have a good evening, everyone and I'll see you tomorrow. Sleep well, fellow bunnies! :):sleep002:

Yes Kathie, the scan is related my prostate. We’re doing a full bone scan to rule out any “unexpected surprises”. I’ll have to keep your offer in mind for the pin. Currently our Ford Dealer doesn’t have any stock on the lot. Same for FCA and GM. Manufacturers are waiting on computer chips!
Danged ottocorrect Pat! ;)
Time to take the pups for an evening stroll by the water.

Lee: Good that the doctor is checking everything out. Keep us informed. We’re your support team buddy.
Yup, those darn CHIPS are causing big inventory problems. Every empty hug parking lot around here is FULL UP with Trucks WAITING FOR CHIPS. The empty lot owners are making a fortune to store all thse vehicles.

Pat: That chicken dish sounds yummy. Sorry I got it wrong! Speed reading again. :emoticon 0102 bigsmile:

CORRECTION: The “ COLOR “ of the new truck is called LEAD-FOOT!
I told Jill she should name the truck…..
The BEAST!
It wouldn’t be my first choice. Looks too much like a Military truck!

OK Ms. K2, if you're not going to tell us what this new priest is said to be opinionated about, quit bringing it up young lady.

Loved your comment about having your house insured instead of getting it blessed every year. I was wondering if the name "leadfoot" was coming from the pick-up or the driver?

Yes BB, I do miss going into grocery stores to check out their stuff, but it's not worth risking getting a breakthrough Covid infection. Especially since new infections are on a steep rise around here. (Still not as bad a Florida, though.) You are so right about how many people have colorful hair colors, which once was so rare. Kinda like tattoos once being rare. I don't have any, which makes me often think I'm a minority now.

Wow, most of that $1,400 went to getting the van's air conditioner fixed, Lee. And just in time for temperatures to be cooling down. When they start getting caught up on those computer chips, I think vehicle prices will take a nose dive.

So how's things in your neck of the woods, KC? Any of that pound of bacon still left?

Oh, as for my UTI; It's still at the beginning of my 10 days on antibiotics, but at least now I can pee more than just a dribble. It sure hurts when your bladder is screaming to be emptied and all you can do is dribble a little bit.

It's coming up on the 20th year since the twin-towers came down. It got me thinking that we all were just middle-agers at that time.

Zip for plans today. Today it's pizza for breakfast. Along with 7 prescriptions. I sure wasn't taking a total of 10 prescriptions every day 20 years ago.

Just in case you forgot what day it is! Ha ha.

Dave: Good to know the meds are slowly doing their job on your UTI issue!
Amazing how that works!
It’s SUNNY and Blue Skies here in Pure Michigan!
We’re going to venture towards the Downtown area to go to Belle Isle and walk through the Conservatory. It’s open again.
LEE…we’ll try waving to you and Lu-Ann from the Belle Isle bridge!

I have nothing more for you good people. Have a great day.

Pat: Any chance you can call and see how Rita & Bill are doing after all the rain. I wonder if it got anywhere near their new home?

Sorry that we have been absent from this thread for all too long. Rita finally came home on Tuesday and seems to be much better this time. She is still being treated for an infection and Lisa and a visiting nurse are handling the necessary, once a day, infusion of an antibiotic. In addition she has a UTI and is taking medication for that.
We escaped any problems from the storm although Wednesday evening we had heavy rains and loud thunderstorms.
With all the running back and forth from home to the nursing home while Rita was there I haven't been checking this thread. Will try to do better from now on.

Good morning! Beautiful day here, so far. T-storms are due later and that's a bummer. This is the day we're having our special dinner with G&E in Orlando. It's a pretty long walk from the parking lot to the restaurant and I'd hate for us to get wet while poor Bert has to push the wheelchair. I'll just keep my fingers crossed that the rains go elsewhere while we're out.

Negc - Welcome back! I figured something was going on with Rita when she didn't answer my email. She did send me a message though that she would call one of these days. Glad she's back out of rehab. Now she's got to get healthy and stay that way.

Karen - Dinner last night turned out to be delicious. I thought I had made plenty expecting M&J to have enough for all of them to eat tonight. WRONG! They have 2 pieces of chicken left. Guess the kids will be getting hot dogs or leftover pizza. That would definitely make Nathan happy.

Dave - Your comment about colorful hair and tattoos is spot on. I'm so glad Bert and our boys never got into tattoos. Jimmy has a slew of them and so does Wesley. Like father, like son! Thanks for reminding us that 20 years ago we were all in our middle ages. You sure know how to hurt a gal! Glad the pee is starting to flow again too.

Lee - Ouch! That's some hit having to get the AC in the van fixed. I know what you mean about driving a vehicle until it really isn't worth very much. Our caddy is also getting to that stage. Over the years, Bert really did drive 2 cars until they became junkers. Of course, each had going on 200,000 miles on them from driving back and forth to Gainesville while he was still working. Caddy isn't quite that bad yet, so we still have time. LOL Maybe by then they will have gotten that computer chip in.

Kathie -Enjoy your day at the conservatory. Looks like a beautiful place. Wave to Lee for us too!

That anti abortion bill they passed in Texas is sickening. Missy refers to them at the American Taliban! Here in Florida our resident a-hole governor wants the legislature to enact an even stricter law against abortion. I could never have had an abortion myself, but a woman should have the right to control and decide what she does with her body. Men should stay the hell out of telling women what to do. Otherwise, I feel that any man who gets a woman pregnant against her wishes should be castrated immediately before he can do it again. Watch how fast the Supreme Court would strike that down. These radical repubs are absolutely disgusting and the idea that some of them are women makes it even worse. They are not only interested in all babies being birthed and after that they don't give a crap. I know a number of them here that feel that way.

Going to jump off here now and give my BP a chance to come down. Actually, we're going to make a quick stop at the library to get a book they are holding for Bert. I'll try to stop back later. Have a wonderful day, everyone! :)

We had a FANTASTIC DAY at Belle Isle and then later we drove a little further to Downtown Detroit and ate in the “authentic Mexican Village”! We got to sit outside and I had a $11 Margarita. I wanted one with Patron Tequila anf real Lime juice. None of that sweet bottled mix for me. It felt like we were in Puerto Vallarta. Lovely day!
We waved when we were crossing the Belle Isle bridge to Lee & Lu-Ann. Not they could see us!

I'm back.......... I keep forgetting to tell you all that Art and I got our 3rd Pfizer Vaccine about 2 weeks ago. The day after they announced it was FDA approved. I called our Kroger to ask if we could register to get the shot and the pharmacist said if we could get to the store in 1/2 hr before she closes she could give us the shot. Well, we live within in walking distance or 5 mins tops in the car, so we went and got them. They are the same as the first 2 shots we got.
She would rather give us the shots and use the vaccine than throw it away since she couldn't use it the next day. We had NO REACTION at all. So now we are 3 times protected! Ha Ha.
We still wear our MASKS into stores and place like we went today on Belle Isle that require masks. Better safe than sorry.

I wanted to mention this in case any of you wanted to look into getting your 3rd shots.

Now I am REALLY going to sleep.

Hi there Bill!

Thanks for popping in and telling us what you and Rita have been up to. Happy to hear that Rita is back home and being treated for her infections. Now keep us up to date an her progress and how you are doing.

BB; I still can't believe that "DeathSantis" is still aiming to be President. Lots of luck with that pal with the track record he has concerning Covid. Not to mention how many women he has infuriated with his stand on abortion laws and crazy voting laws. Hope you didn't get drenched in Orlando.

Thanks for all the pictures K2. That Belle Island sounds like an interesting place. Eleven bucks for a Margarita at the "authentic Mexican Village". Bet your limit was 1. Good going on getting that booster shot.

Should be a warm, but not hot, and sunny day here today, as it should be for the next week.

Yesterday I needed to replace one of the solar lights we have on top of our white fence posts. (There's 25 of them.) Those things are pretty but high on maintenance. It seems like every week one of those lights needs new batteries or just craps out. Just needing rechargeable batteries is a lot cheaper. When we put up that white fence 6 years ago each solar light was $30. Now they cost $50 apiece.

I still think that when lit up at night it makes our old pool area look like a helicopter pad.

This morning I hope to do a little weeding in an area before Kathi puts down some mulch.

Surprisingly, those bags of mulch have been in the back of my car for a week, and yet they haven't stunk up the interior.

Its Friday Party GIF
Hope you ALL have a fantastic Friday.

Have you noticed it's still DARK when you get up these days?
The dew is still on the deck and windows too.
The temps are not in the 80's in the mornings anymore! More like the 58-60F.
The Sun has to burn off the haze before we get to see it.

Are you getting the picture here?? IT'S GOING TO BE SNOWING BEFORE WE KNOW IT!

Bring on Indian Summer FAST.....thanks. I'm not one that likes TRANSITION.

That $11 dollar Margarita was well worth the money. Not too much ice or salt on the rim as requested and good to the last drop. I can't remember the last time I spent that much on one drink. But it sure was worth it ...........and SO AM I! Ha ha

I think my plans today is to go the the Outlet that is about 1 hour and 25 mins from here. Birch Run is what it's called. We have one right close to where Jill lives, but it's never had the right shops in it. The one I want to go to is near Frankenmuth, a German tourist trap town.

I need to get ready and hit the road. I'll be among a lot of camper trailers going UP NORTH to close their cottages or pull in their docks. After all it's Labor Day weekend and they need to LABOR and get that last boat ride in the books! Half of the crazo's don't know why we celebrate Labor Day. It's a UNION holiday. Remember those.... UNIONS. I love UNIONS. Bought all the houses and things we have in ours, put our daughter through college, pays for most all the medical bills of OLD AGE. Some numb-nuts think it's just a end of the Summer holiday. They've never worked as a Union Worker. SAD.

LEE: Nancy sent me this message to pass on to you.

I will answer later but could you pass on to Lee that Tony had prostate cancer back in 2007 and recovered just fine and fairly fast. My Dad had it in about 1978 and had radiation pellets placed inside Probably not what Lee is getting. My Dad recovered quickly as I recall and went back to his regular routine. He died in 2003 from heart problems and missing my Mom. Tony had radiation treatments when chemo made him so sick. The appointments were daily except weekends for 5 weeks he was only in the office 1/2 hour at the most before we drove home. I hope maybe that info will help Lee feel ok about it. The cancer Tony had was very fast moving and wasn’t curable. So there’s no comparison. I hope some of that makes him feel more confident he’ll be just fine. I’ll be thinking of him.

She did mention in another part of her message that she thinks of ALL of us when she looks at the Angel holding the Rabbit that we sent to her after Tony passed. She is always grateful that Tony had such good friends for so many years and that they got to see most all of them on trips.
RIP dear Tony I don't think we'll ever forget you.

Good Saturday morning, gang!

Kathie - I think you're trying to blow our minds! You started your post this morning with a HAPPY FRIDAY message & picture. Then you ended it with a wish for a good SATURDAY!!! Thanks for passing on Nancy's messages. I remember when Tony had the prostrate cancer. I too so miss him on here. :( I also knew what the significance of Labor Day is. We really need to see a push to bring back more unions. Of course, they don't mean squat here in Florida as it's "right to work" state. That means if a place has a union, you cannot be required to join. But if there's a union vote on a new contract non-union members get to vote on it also. We experienced that while I was teaching. Teachers here are not allowed to strike either. Just another screwy thing we have here and makes us FloriDUH!!

Dave - I hope you're right about DeathSantis blowing his chance at the presidency, but knowing the number of people who backed lil t, would back DeathSantis. They are a very dangerous group and will vote for anything that keeps them in power.
We ran into rain on our way to the restaurant and it was still raining when we got to the parking lot. I called Gary and found out they were already there, so we finally decided to bite the bullet and head for the restaurant. Bert had put a large umbrella in the trunk, so I held the umbrella over us while he pushed me for a block to the entrance. We got a little wet, but nothing drastic.
Our dinners were delicious. Bert & I had the same things - escargot, beef short ribs and creme brulee. Gary's dinner was really unique. It was a number of different seafoods served on a bed of ice. I had thought about ordering that myself, but getting a bit wet from the rain, I was a bit cold. Seeing how much it was, there's no way I could have eaten it all. I did manage to get a raw oyster from Gary, as he was getting full himself. It was still raining lightly when we left the restaurant, but stopped about half way home. Tonight is going to be a leftovers night to clean out the refrigerators! Nee to eat early enough to watch some college football. We have a life again!!!!

Time now for me to put together a list of what I need from the store for our Labor Day BBQ. I want to see about getting everything today and hope Publix isn't mobbed as they usually are before a holiday. Time will tell. Have a fantastic day and weekend. Stay safe and keep those masks handy.:)

Good morning gang!!

Pat, you took the words right out of my mouth regarding Kathie's last post....but I figured she was still suffering the after effects of that maragrita from last night...
Sounds like a nice dinner with G&E last night...and yep...I am begining to think there is nothing that lil t or deathSantis could do to lose their crazy fan base...just unreal!!

Dave, glad to hear the meds are begining to kick in for you...what kind of mulch have you been storing in your car for the last week? It's more expensive...but I have pretty much switched over to the rubber mulch here...it doesn't break down, doesn't draw bugs and for the most part the lawn crew doesn't seem to be able to blow it all out of my flower beds...comes in Brown or Red around here...I use the brown...

Kathie, loved the pictures from you & Art's adventure yesterday...nice to be able to get out & about for a bit...even wearing a mask...
That is one sweet looking truck Jill bought...doesn't seem that long ago that she got the other one...time sure does fly...
Add me to the list of those who miss Tony greatly....I think of Nancy often and wish there was something I could do or say to help her through this time...

Lee, hope yesterday's scan went well!! If only you had coverage for your van like you have medical coverage for you...$1,400 is a big YIKES...and I bet they didn't even have coffee & donuts in the waiting area either...

Negc, glad to see you check in...please give Rita my regards & hope she is feeling better soon....time to be able to enjoy the new house!

Been a busy last couple days...Thurs I went to Jane's & mowed the front yard...then spent a couple hours in the pool with her & Barb...then yesterday was the birthday lunch for one of our poolies...Deb...we went to Terry's...a little bar type restaurant over in my old neighborhood....food was delish as always & we all brought home plenty of left overs....after that Jane & I stopped by to see Samantha for a little bit since we were in the area...and yesterday was 15 yrs. since Maegan had passed....

Today was a few little projects outside this morning and then I'm going to head over to Jane's for some pool time...definitely a tiny chill in the air this morning...I think it was 76 when I got up.., felt WONDERFUL!! Need to get off here & get a couple more things done before I head out...oh...Barb got her 2nd shot on Thurs....and Jane has finally decided to get her's now...just need to get her into Publix or Walmart& get it done...later all!

Good afternoon from a somewhat overcast Amherstburg. A little "muggier" (is that a word?) than it has been for the past few days. Looks like it's going to feel like the upper 20's and low 30's over the next week. OOPS! That's the mid 70'sF to the upper 80'sF.
It was a busy day yesterday. I was up extra early to get the pups out and fed so they didn't miss their beloved walk at The Navy Yard. Up to the hospital for the injection, back home, did a couple of chores and back to the hospital for the bone scan. Friends called and said "Would you like to come over for a glass of wine after dinner?" "YEP!"
Ya, not expecting the bill for the van but with the temps here and in Florida this winter (that's me thinking positive) we need the AC.
Kathie, thank you for forwarding that note from Nancy. It means a lot. I know that many of us think of Tony often and never hesitate to mention his name or blame him for a comment that none of us would ever make. Looks like you and Art had a nice day at the aquarium. We used to pass through Mexican town as part of the detour to I75 South. I have to say that I think that Jill's new truck looks very military as well. I would have been leaning to something with a nice pop of colour. We headed into Windsor this morning and Lu-Ann commented how clear it was. I pointed to the north west and said you can almost Art and Kathie's place today. I hope that Birch Run is in better shape than it was a couple of years back! We were in MI for a Greyhound event. That outlet was right across for the hotel and it was all but abandoned! There was a Starbucks right across the street though...
I thought that things looked dim over towards Oh-Hi-Ya Dave. Now I know it was just one of your lights were out. Be honest now. You keep that mulch back there because it's cheaper than an air freshener! It's greatness to hear that you are on the meant too! Just don't overdo things with a "little" weeding.
As a matter of fact Karen, I did NOT have coffee and donuts at the dealership. I dropped the van off at 12:30 and was home in the shuttle by 12:45. Had a good chat with Joe once he realized I was a "retired" dealer trade and back up shuttle driver. Give your sisters a BIG hug for me for getting their shots! It's not just themselves that t hey are looking out for, it's everyone the come into contact with. Ontario is rolling out a vaccination passport which will be required to enter certain business. I think it's a great idea.

definitely a tiny chill in the air this morning...I think it was 76
We had a "tiny chill" yesterday morning. It was 58F at 6:00 a.m.
Stay safe and keep those masks handy.:)
Never mind "handy". Keep the damned masks on if you are all out and about. That sounds like a novel dish Gary had at the restaurant! I've got this picture of you holding the umbrella over you and Bert as he wheels you into the restaurant. Personally, I think it's the stuff Hallmark cards are made of. It is scary how, in spite of the evidence, people vote for those who shouldn't even be in office. How could there have ever been a "Women For Trump" movement after all of the accusations made about him. Unions are a very interesting bag of cats here in Canada. I think that there was a time when a good strong RESPONSIBLE union, leadership and membership was needed to protect all aspects of workers jobs. In some workplaces that need still exists or should be brought back. In some cases I fear that unions actually hurt the workers in the long run. But that's a discussion and battle best fought another day.
Time to get the pups out for an afternoon wander.
You all stay safe and sound. You all mean a great deal to me.
