Thought my Kindle had died because I plugged it in to charge it overnight and it wouldn't turn on this morning, but I just checked it and it is charging so perhaps the plug was loose or something. In the middle of reading something on it and I do want to be able to finish it.
Aruba is one of our favorite spots in the Caribbean and I'm not aware that their problems are any worse there than just about everywhere else, especially here in the US. One of my favorite stores in the downtown is "I Heart Aruba" which I swear has merchandise for just about every sports team (major or minor league) in the US.
Glad that Bert will be home soon. I don't think anyone would want to stay in a hospital for any longer than absolutely necessary and I am sure that BB and the family will do everything necessary to make his transition back to a reasonably normal life as easy as possible.

Good afternoon! Sorry I didn't make it here eaarlier, but Missy & I were busy getting things ready for Bert's homecoming. Even as I type this, she is bringing him home!! He called this morning that he is getting released as soon as someone got there to pick him up. Boy, will this be a relief for everyone in the family, especially ME!

I think we ordered just about everything that he will need that wasn't covered under Medicare. Things like a shower chain. I'm waiting for an Amazon delivery now, as well as a delivery of a walker that is covered under insurance.

Bill - Lucky you getting to spend a week in Aruba (I hate you!!!) They have some wonderful restaurants there, but they are pricy. There's one we loved called Que Pasa. You walk down an alley to get to it and it sort of overlooks a parking lot, but once they turn on the lights at night, it's really beautiful. I had the best lobster thermidor there that I've ever had. Last time we were in Aruba was with you and Joanne & Jeff. It was the day Obama got elected president. One of those days you don't forget too quickly!

Kathie - Yes, I will make sure he drinks lots of water. I knew you couldn't resist saying that. Thank you, doctor, for once again practicing medicine without a license!! LOL
Bert will be getting physical therapy here at the house 3 times a week. Now it will be his turn to live around those appointment while I just relax and do my own thing.

Lee - M&J live less than 5 minutes away from us. Our retired doctor friend and his wife live right on our block and our other friend also lives about 5 minutes away. I think we will be able to handle this. Biggest problem is going to be when it comes to shopping. My most immediate problem is that I need a case of wine from Sam's asap!!!

Dave - I'm sure you're right about the cat. Knowing him, he will plop right down in the center of the bed for a couple of hours and once he's finished with his nap, he will jump off the bed and go do his own thing. Then he'll just wait for me to come out of the bedroom to start throwing him his treats that he likes to chase and catch.

Nancy - I'm sure we will make out fine with the sleeping arrangement as planned. If Bert slept in another room, I wouldn't be able to hear him, if he needed me and the same goes for if I needed him.

They should be getting back soon, so I'm going to get off here and make sure everything is ready for Bert's homecoming. Have a great rest of the day, everyone!

Now you make sure to listen to Nurse
Hatchet, I meant to say Nurse Pat! :emoticon 0102 bigsmile:

Our one choir member who fell in the shower and has been in the hospital and rehab for weeks is finally home. We have a Sign-UP site for people who want to bring them dinners. It looks like it's filling up quite nicely. Michalene shouldn't have to cook anything but breakfast and lunch for weeks. The list is full up until the 2nd week of July.

I made Serbian Cheese Strudel to take to them as a dessert. I didn't sign up on the list, just going to take it over to them. I might make a dinner when I see the days not filling up after July 7th. I think the site is called Food Trains sign up or something like that.

Pat: It's so much 'cheaper' for me to practice medicine without applying for a license! Ha Ha.
You take care of each other and I hope you find somebody to bring you a CASE or TWO of WINE! When does Wesley come back home? Where is that kid when you truly need him! :emoticon 0102 bigsmile:

Haven't put the TV on to see if Trump behaved himself in Court today. Hope they used a really thick black ink when they finger printed him and it doesn't come off! Ha Ha.

DAVE: How is Kathi's dizziness been lately? Hope it's gone.

Later gang.

Kathie - Wesley was supposed to come home today. but he got bumped on his flight. He couldn't get another flight home until Friday now. Frontier airlines really sucks! He's got a job starting towards the end of July for a few months. After that, we plans to move back to Texas permanently. He gets a lot of jobs there, unfortunately.

Bert is still feeling the effects of the drugs he's on. He can't keep his eyes open! He will definitely be going to bed early tonight. Missy and the kids will be staying overnight. Another day she will not be going to work. She's allowed to do that without losing her job. She just won't be getting paid from work.. We will make sure she gets the money she is losing from work. We are so glad to have her help.

Tomorrow a visiting nurse will be coming and so will PT coming to get his started. That should be fun!!

So happy to hear that Bert is back home, BB. Thank your lucky stars that you have family members there to assist you both. Plus a nurse and physical therapist coming to your house. You guys are lucky little Bunnies.

The nickname of "Nurse Wratched" cracked me up, K2. Now we just need to get BB a nurse's uniform and hat of that era.

Funny Bill; I've never had to recharge one of my books. They must come with damn good batteries in them.

Lee; As far as Kathi's Vertigo, it's pretty much history. But she now makes sure to go a bit slower in her movements, especially standing up and in the movement of her head. As a matter of fact, just yesterday the family doctor had her go to a physical therapist to see how things were going. But nothing the therapist did in the testing triggered any dizziness. The only change Kathi was asked to do was to stop using the dizziness-medicine and see what happens.

There's always something to be thankful for. Today I'm thankful that whether I'm inside or outside I no longer smell smoke from those wildfires. That was REALLY getting irritating. I'd bet outside workers are doing cartwheels.

Good morning.
We’re supposed to have rain and thunder storms throughout the day. It was spitting a tad when Ava and I went for our walk.
So good to know that Bert is home Pat. Bless Missy for taking a little time to be there for both of you. How long will Bert have physio? I guess you can’t blame Wesley for going where the work is.
Good news about Kathi’s vertigo Dave. There are still plenty of fires across Canada but I think the winds have changed a bit. Plus there has finally been some rain to help clean the air.
PGA Champ - Canadian.
NBA Champ - Canadian.
See Kathie, we have our fingers in the championship pie too. ;)
A really, really good day to stay away from Miami.
Hi everyone else. Stay safe wherever you go.

Even without batteries, those books you are reading likely weigh a lot more and take up more room than my Kindle does, Dave, so it is a lot more convenient and less cumbersome, when we travel.
Glad to hear that Bert will be getting three PT sessions a week at home, Pat. It will be very
helpful as he adjusts to the new hip and hopefully reduce or eliminate any mobility issues.
Glad that Missy has some job security but it seems a shame that a company as large as Amazon doesn't have some form of paid leave program to cover situations where the employee needs time off to care for a family member having health issues.
I'll be on my way to my PT session around the time that Trump is arraigned but I am sure that the news programs will cover the event ad nauseam and I will be unable to avoid the coverage all day (and night).
Que Pasa is one of our favorites in Aruba, as well, Pat, along with Madam Janette's. There was a time when we also enjoyed El Gaucho but it was
disappointing the last few times we went there. Costa Linda has a couple of restaurants on the property so we definitely won't lack for places to find a good meal.

Good morning! Time for a quick post while there's a break in the action here. Nurse was here already and PT will be between 1 & 3. Bert is absolutely amazing me. He's walking around with the walker and was able to get in and out of bed a number of times last night. He's also not taking the pain meds, just Tylenol extra strength. When he has a question, I just call our retired doctor friend and he gives me the answer to reassure Bert that everything is as it should be.
Missy and the kids just went home to take care of their dogs and do a few things at the house. If Bert continues to do so well today, Missy will sleep at her own house tonight. I think she will still stay home tomorrow just to make sure all is ok here. We are so happy with all her help and don't know how we would have handled this all without her.

Time to see where Bert has wandered off to. Not sure if it's to the bathroom or to take a nap. I'll be back later after he has PT.

Yes Bill, I always wonder how we used to travel with "paper" books! For that matter, how did we ever go to school carrying our text books, note books, pens, pencils, calculators, slide rules, lunch and so on. At Canada Post there was an article in the collective agreements that allowed for up to 5 working days with pay for family emergencies. As a manager I had the ability to authorize stuff like that for my employees. But I knew all of my "kids" and they were always square with me when it came to such requests.
I have to admit to smiling when I read "Time to see where Bert has wandered off to." Pat. Even with a fresh new hip he's still one step ahead of you, is he. And that is just neat. But now for the most pressing
question, did you get your wine?
So, Linda dropped over late this morning with a little thank you for the work the guys did on her shed...
IMG_6552.jpeg

She was quite tickled to drop off OGC wine glasses and a bottle of wine. Even though we all told her it wasn’t necessary.
She also sent a picture of the painted shed. Linda is not doing sunflowers now. Because she is a quilter she has decided to do “quilt“ panels instead. Very befitting of her hobby.

Time to hit the exercise stuff…
You all be good.

Pat so good to read that Bert is doing so good. Just hope he takes it slow and easy!
Did you get that WINE yet? Time to buy it by the plallet full!
I’m totally not interested in the T-man and his court appearance today. I put music on in the kitchen.

Got my Calcium injection this morning! Hope my old bones appreciate me trying to take of them! :D
LEE: Love the paint job on the She-shed and the glasses are such a very thoughtful gift. Wow.

Good to know Kathi’s Dizziness is under control!

I have nothing to chat about right now.
Going outside to get some SUNSHINE while it’s still out there. 78F. Not sure what the REAL FEEL is but it doesn’t feel that warm.

Later Wrabbits.

Good evening. Well it has been quite a day. Started with PT and just after leaving there Bruce called and said to come right home as we needed to go to a lady's in Palm City. Charlotte had a guy coming to look at her coins and she wanted Bruce there when he came and Bruce decided that I needed to go so I could check her computer and see why he could not call her.

Well the computer was easy, it told me to connect an ethernet cord, but she does not have a modem so no internet at all. Computer was fine. Then she asked if I could set up voice mail on her phone so I was able to do that and then found that somehow she had blocked Bruce's cell phone so when he called it would go to voice mail. Got him unblocked and tried calling her and it worked, so now he can call her.

While there Charlotte put on one of the local stations, so of course the network had to break in when trump left his golf club to go the court. Of course once there you only saw the front of the courthouse where both his supporters and the few protestors were and over the hour of so the number of supporters kept going down. I guess they finally realized they were not going to be seeing him. And while it was hot here I know it was hotter there in Miami and with all the large buildings no breeze.

It was after 3 when we left her place and we had not had lunch so we went to Panera Bread. Got home about 5.

All have a good night.

Happy I Love You GIF by Travis Foster

We've had a decent amount of rain here in the last couple of hours.
Detroit Baseball game was in DELAY mode. Of course, when you lost 9 of the last 10 games who really cares! Ha Ha.

My sister-in-law sold their house in 3 days. It's now waiting for the bank to come and do a appraisal for the buyers. She already told the buyers that if it came back with a lower appraised value that she WAS NOT coming down in her price. They would just have to make the difference up for whatever the loan amount would be. She knows from just the bidding that went on in the 3 days that she could hold out for more if she had to. She told me these days you never see the buyers and you don't even have to show up at a closing like in decades past. Modern technology.
She got more than the asking price so far. She picked the family of 2 kids and 2 adults that sent a lovely touching letter as to why they wanted the house instead of the single gentleman. I bet the single guy would have just FLIPPED the house for more money.

Okay folks, off to see if the RAIN DELAY is over.

I just LOVE those wine glasses, Lee. And the shed looks great too. ( Although I'm disappointed that Linda isn't painting sunflowers on it. Really, quilt patterns?)

WHAT, no Taco Bell in Aruba?

Surprised but really happy to hear that Bert's recovery is doing so extremely well.

Are these calcium injections a once a month thing, K2?

Our plan is to head to the smaller grocery store this morning.

55 DEGREES outside and the sun is trying it's best to poke through. This is one COLD MONTH so far.

Dave: I get the calcium injections every 6 months. I was told I'll be getting 1 more and then I will be off of them for awhile. As much good as the injection does, it can also do harm if you continue to take it. I just go with the flow of what the Doctor says to do. DUH.

I need to pick up a few things at the grocery store today. I like to wait until Fri, SAT or SUN to get most of my groceries at Kroger's because I get EXTRA Fuel rewards. I managed to fill the tank with $.50 cents off on each gallon the other day by using Fuel Rewards. Works for me.

PAT: How's that MAN of yours doing today? Hope each day is a better one for him.

Somebody just posted! Off to see who it was.

I really don't have much for you good Wrabbits this morning. Later.

Good morning! Happy Flag Day!

Lee - Love those glasses from Linda. What a neat and thoughtful gift! The shed looks great too. She did a great job painting it. I wasn't kidding when I said that I needed to see where Bert had wandered off to. This broken hip isn't stopping him from roaming all over the house. He's handling this so well and I'm so happy with his progress.

Kathie - NO! I haven't gotten any wine yet. I sent Missy to pay the inflated price at Publix, but she forgot to get the wine and she couldn't spend the time to find it as it was getting late. Hopefully, today she will get a few bottles until someone is going to Sam's for me.

Dave - I'm seeing a pattern here today. You're going to the grocery store, Kathie is going to the grocery store, and Nancy is going to the grocery store. I'm getting jealous!! I just have to send Melissa to the grocery store, but it's just not the same! LOL

Speaking of Melissa, she's due to get here any minute. She had me make a list of all we need here to do here today, as well as anything we need at the store. Bert's PT person will also be arriving very shortly for today's session. One of the things he needs to show him is how to get into and out of the shower without falling. There is a bath chair there, but it still can be tricky once the floor gets wet.

Something tells me that lunch is going to be a bit late today!!
