Got a New/USED small TV for the Kitchen counter. It's 3.5 inches bigger than the other one. Tried to connect it and took out the land line. WHY would that happen when trying to re-connect a cable line to a TV??? Who knows. Anyways, good old Comcast/Xfinity got the phones working again and will call me back if they can figure out the TV cable situation on that mini kitchen TV. The other TV's all work Whew! By the time I get done with all this TECH STUFF I'll be a expert or in the Loony Bin! Yes, Tony would hop right on that one.

Bill: At least you are 6/6 right now. Try harder next week. Ha ha.

Good evening. It has been a pretty quiet day. Decided that dinner was spaghetti, easy and good.

K2 we used to have Comcast cable but last year I dropped the cable so we just have internet and phone. When I dropped cable the bill dropped $160 and we had to have a box for every tv. So now we don't have a kitchen tv but that is okay.

For some reason my left index finger has decided to start to swell and not bend anymore. It had been bending for the last few days. I have made a note on my one calendar, since I go back to the hand Dr in 5 weeks. The other day when was at the grocery for some reason that finger was hurting and would not bend and the finger next to it was also not bending and was cramping.

All have a good night.

Lots of happy talk, good stories, and helpful suggestions on here yesterday. And that's great. (Nobody likes a Debbie Downer.)

So it's time to lighten it up, and continue with the good vibes as we begin a new day.

It's one of the reasons I like this next song so much. It touches on the fact that it's our attitude that decides our day. No matter how you're feeling or what the weather is, it's up to us to stay in a good mood.

Good morning. No plans for me today. Supposed to be another hot day and a chance of rain and strong wind this afternoon/evening.

All have a great day.

Bummer on all that rumbling and rain Karen. Up here in Pure Michigan we could use a little rain. Feel bad for the farmers. Then again, we have one farmer in Howell, MI that got a HUGE HAIL the size of BASEBALLs the other day and his 80 acres of melons and strawberries and other veggies are all ruined. He said he just made it into the barn in time so he didn't get hurt. So sad.

Jill went Strawberry picking the other day at a small farm close to her house. We get to have some of them on Sunday when we celebrate Father's Day and Art's Birthday (a few days early).

Karen I hope your Breakfast casserole is a hit at the church's Father's Day celebration. You picked a nice church that likes to "eat well"!
Did Barb and Wendy make it to Ohio alright?

Pat: How's the HIP Patient doing today? And how are you doing too? I bet Bert can't wait to be able to get out of the house and into the car again. Just tell him not to rush that idea.

Lee: I see some really nice days starting from today onward for excellent morning walks with Ava and Lu-Ann at the Navy Park. Hopefully, we'll be able to get to Goderich soon and check out the new owners of Culbert's Bakery. They've added so many new items and they stay open on SUNDAY's. Amazing what they can put out from that small old oven in the back.
I follow them on Facebook and the little town of Goderich is lucky they bought and took over that bakery. I'm drooling thinking about the famous "Cream Puff Donut"!

Nancy: Bummer on all the trouble you're having with your fingers. Bend and massage them so they don't get any stiffer.

Hello to Bill & Rita. I'm sure you two are doing something interesting this weekend with your kids.

Art has been pulling up the dead grass on the lower street side of the property. Seems like we have some GRUBS that have been unearthed. When Art came in for lunch yesterday we saw 4-5 Robins all over the dirt looking for Grubs. Art dug up a few and tossed them to a Robin that patiently waited not far from him and 'gobbled' it up. Between the large roots from the Maple trees and little to no sun in the area and the Grubs we think that's what's killing the grass. Art said he's going to buy some rolls of SOD and try that instead of seeding it. I can see our WATER BILL go sky high to keep that SOD watered until it takes hold.
ALWAYS SOMETHING!

You all have a fine day and keep the Happiness DAVE started this morning with you all DAY!

Good afternoon! I could have sworn that I posted yesterday, but if I did, I can't find it.

As Karen said, we're going from one storm to another. Missy stopped off this morning before going shopping and just as she walked in the door, the heavens opened up. It was pouring so hard you could hardly see the lake. Now it looks like another round of storms is getting ready to move in again. It's going to be a soggy day in Florida!

Bert is really doing great. He's able to walk with a cane, if someone walks behind him, just in case. PT started him doing that yesterday and hopes to have him completely off the walker within the next week. Bert is thickheaded, so he is determined to do everything the therapist tells him to do. That includes exercises and doing lots of walking around the house. Considering that he had the surgery a week ago today, I am amazed by his progress!!

Bill - Sorry the casino wasn't more generous this time. I too was bummed when I saw that Blacklist wasn't on this past Thursday. I think Bert said it will be back on next week.

Kathie - Your biscotti sound delicious. Nice that you'll have nice fresh strawberries for your Father's Day & Art's b-day gathering. Unfortunately, it's going to be a quiet Father's Day here. Missy has to go back to work. Gary was supposed to be coming over today, but he found out that he has to take Elaine's sons to the airport at 4 AM. I guess they never heard of an Uber! So he's not going to make it. I do want to make something special for dinner for Bert, but haven't decided what that will be yet.

Lee - I too kind of shook my head over Kathie & Art having chicken & fish at a steak house. Go figure!! I told Bert after observing his shower that I was not that Impressed with the show, so I was not going to stick any dollar bills into his undies. He'll have to do better next time! LOL

Karen - Your breakfast for tomorrow sounds delicious. I've seen that recipe, but never needed to make a large batch like that just for Bert & I. You definitely joined the right church!!

Nancy _ Sorry about the problem with your finger. Any races this weekend?
Dave - Seeing as how you are enjoying all the happy talk on here, this is for you -

Enjoy!!

The happy shoppers just pulled in the driveway, so I better get off here and see what all they picked up for us. Have a great afternoon and to us Floridians - stay dry!!

The story about K2 and Art having fish and chicken at a steak house made me think of my story about Rita and lobster. When we were first married, we went to dinner and I convinced her to order lobster which, hard though it may to believe, she had never had. She liked it so much that almost every time that we went to a restaurant, she would order lobster. One time though, she said that the lobster she ordered wasn't very good. My response was that we had just eaten at a well known Italian restaurant where lobster really wasn't one of their specialties.
Lots of fireworks going on in the surrounding towns and East Bridgewater concluded its Bicentennial celebration with them last night. The rain we are currently experiencing has caused Rockland, where we used to live, to postpone its Rockland Day festivities, which will end with fireworks, until tomorrow, so Kevin will have to shorten his visit in order to report to work at 4 Sunday afternoon. Trying to think of a good restaurant around here where the clan can all gather.

A busy day as The OGC’s started to put the railing around Jim and Gail’s pool deck. Yep, the deck we built last summer. We “get” tomorrow off so we should finish up Monday.
“First I lobster, then I flounder.“ Lyrics to a rather fishy country tune inspired by Bill’s lobster “tail“ about Rita.
So many fun, happy tunes on my favourite radio station, WBUN! Adjust those rabbit ears and rock and roll to nonstop strains of smile making tunes from yesterday and today.
I am really amazed at how quickly Bert is expecting to be to be done with his walkin’ sticks. The physio people really should use him as motivation and inspiration for some of the folks who don’t see the value in the physio program.
Hopefully Art gets the grubs under control Kathie. They can do major damage to a lawn. It always amazed us that Culbert‘s, in a tourist town, was closed on Sundays! Another good place for “grub” (see how I tied these things together?) used to be West Street Willies. Say, have you and Art ever visited Leland, MI? Lu-Ann saw an article about it on her Pure Michigan Facebook page.
I reckoned there was no event this weekend or you would have mentioned it Nancy. It’s a good weekend for F1 fans here with The Canadian Grand Prix taking place in Montreal this weekend.
At 63 years young, I wonder if Katrina (of Katrina and The Waves) uses a walker to walk on sunshine Dave?
So, there you have it from this side of The Detroit River.
You all have a great evening. If “Raindrops Are Fallin’ On Your Head” where you are, stay dry. If it’s nice and sunny, enjoy that too.
G’nite folks.

Good evening. Has a short but strong rain this afternoon and sunny since.

No races for me to watch this weekend. It is the last weekend off until Nov. 5th the last race of the season. Trucks and Xfinity have some weekends off because they don't run as many races.

Tomorrow we will go to the Mexican restaurant for lunch and then to see about getting a new band for Bruce's one Fit Bit type watch. The I have Rib Eye steaks and baking potatoes for dinner.

All have a good night.

I STAND CORRECTED in reference to the name of the cozy restaurant we went to Wednesday. It wasn’t called a STEAK HOUSE! The name is
STONY ROAD HOUSE! Whew sure glad I corrected that. So, Fish and Chicken were a okay choice! :D

Finished making and icing Art’s B-Day cake. We’re celebrating it tomorrow since he will be busy working his Bike clubs big Bike Event that day.

Lee:
LeeLenau is a really quaint Fishing Town. They have fish shanty’s by the river and fisherman bring in their catches. There are smoke houses with fantastic fresh smoked white fish. Salmon, etc. Lots of cheese and of course WINE. That’s also Wine country. Lot’s of ARTIST in the area and shoppes. Pricey area, but worth going to. We have never spent a night there. We did stay in a condo that is in that wine area. I’ll have to look up the name. Lord only knows how much they charge these days. Ha ha.
I like going in that area when the FALL COLORS are at their best.
Just bring your American Express Card and you won’t have to worry about a thing until the Brink Truck brings you your statement. Ha ha.

I had the nicest Comcast Tech come and set up the New/Used kitchen TV. So polite. It works perfectly. Clear picture. Not bad gir a $20 Estate Sale buy! It’s 4” bigger than our old tv. I gave the young man some Biscotti and something to drink. He said his girlfriend is Italian and the would have them w/coffee tomorrow. He even gave us his phone number if we ever have questions or need computer help! IMG_8092.jpeg

Okay folks….I need to wrap some gifts!

Lee: There’s a resort called Homestead, at Glen Arbor, MI. Of you can afford to stay there you might as well stay at LeLenau. (Sp?)

Check out this video of Manny (dog) at The Anderson Lake Cottage! (Remember this is not our cottage. Rather Art’s late brother’s) It’s always been called by that name.
Jill went there today with Manny.
Bummer can’t find it.

HAPPY FATHER'S DAY, guys! By now, or soon, I'd bet Lee will be taking a walk together with his cute daughter.

What a great bunch of happy-music picks you Bunnies chose. I wouldn't be surprised if everyone got a smile on their face while listening to them. Who says we can't have a "happy-hour" before noon.

Are your fingers still pruney from all your rain, KC?

Hope you don't eat too much at church.

So nice of Art to feed the robins. Pretty soon they'll be following him around the yard. You sure get some very nice techs, K2.

The physical therapists sure wish more people would get serious about their therapy like Bert does, BB.

Of all things, I'm going to have a big tasty salad for breakfast. Along with apple slices, some cantaloupe, baby carrots, and grape tomatoes. NO I'm not turning into a vegetarian. It's just yummy once in a while. Of course I put bunches of ham pieces and Swiss cheese pieces on the salad. Then lots, and I mean LOTS, of Thousand Island dressing.

Again.... Happy Father's Day all.

I made bacon and fresh blueberry syrup for the Pancakes that I'll be doing as soon as I get off of this computer. MR ART slept in today! Something he doesn't usually do. Gave me a chance to do a few things in the kitchen.

You all have a wonderful day. We'll be celebrating at our daughter's house. Easier for Manny to be in his own "space" with his new electronic fence. From what I hear it's working out really nice for him. He can run around the yard and front of the house and the family doesn't have to be right on top of him. I tell you "Manny" is one lucky spoiled doggie.

Dave your breakfast sounds way too nutritional for your taste! Ha Ha. Good you added some salad dressing!

ENJOY YOUR DAY. When I got up the SUN was SHINING and it was 52F. Come on Mother Nature, you can do better than that. Can't eat breakfast out on the deck unless we had our Winter Jackets on.

Happy Father's Day to the great bunch of guys on here. Doesn't matter if your kids have 2 or 4 legs, you're all super dads!

It's a beautiful day, but that isn't going to last. We're expecting t-storms most of the day. I had wanted to go with M&J last night to our boat dock parking lot where they had dueling pianos. Howl at the Moon. They play requests all night. I decided not o go because we were expecting more rain and it came. Not too heavy, but just enough to make things wet. When we were going to bed, we had a t-storm with lots of lightening. Not my favorite at night. Welcome to summer in Florida!!

Dave - That breakfast sounds too "normal" for you! Where did you hide the REAL Dave?

Karen - You've got me drooling for your breakfast this morning. The church crowd is in for a real treat!

Kathie - Thanks for explaining the name of that restaurant. Now your dinners make more sense as opposed to going to a steak house.

Lee - Nice that you guys are taking the day off. One of these days, you are going to run out of projects for the OGCs to do. Then what????

Bill - I'm sure you and your family will be getting together. Too bad Kevin will have to go in to work this afternoon.

Nancy - Sounds like you have lots of eating planned for today.

Jimmy is going to do a seafood boil today. I had suggested it the other day. We already have almost everything needed for it. They just have to get corn on the cob and crawfish. There goes our box of snow crab clusters, but it's a good way to free up some room in the freezer.

I hear Bert in the bedroom. Guess I should be nice and at least fix him a cup of coffee for Father's Day!!

Enjoy your day, everyone, no matter what you have planned!

Good morning again! Managed to stay awake thru 8 o'clock Mass, lot's of stand up, sit down in that service so not much chance of dozing off!
The breakfast at 9 was AMAZING!! They had so many casseroles, & fruit & muffins and all kinds of baked goods. Had a pretty nice turn out too, I think someone said 50 people. They were going to leave the food for the people from the 10:30 mass to have for their coffee hour. My casserole was pretty good, but there was soooo much other food that only about half of it got ate. I left most of it & brought my dish home with enough for me to eat for breakfast tomorrow.
Barb & Wendy are heading back home today from Ohio. She said there was a nice turn out for the reunion. They will stop in Tenn. again on there way home as far as I know.
Think I'm going to go catch a little nap & "maybe" go to the pool this afternoon if it doesn't rain again!

Good morning. Well Bruce made breakfast this morning, waffles. We will be going to the Mexican restaurant for lunch then to see about getting a new strap for his one fit bit. The dinner is Rib Eye steaks and baked potatoes.

Had rain overnight and it looked like rain this morning but none yet. Supposed to rain about 1 then 3 then 7, so I guess we will be getting it.

All have a great day.
