Quick good afternoon, we've had multiple rounds of thunderstorms roll thru today since about 9 am this morning. Luckily I got out & had all my errands finished before it got to bad. Poor Ginger is NOT a fan of thunder at all and is under the bed as I type.
Sounds like all the Dad's had the awesome day they deserved!
Kathie your Biscotti sounds wonderful, does it ship well? Asking for a friend. :emoticon 0102 bigsmile: Please wish Art a Most Happy Birthday from me! Going to shut down again till the storms finish up for now

Your mention of coyotes, reminded me that while they have frequently been sited in nearby towns, more recently we have had a large number of sitings of a black bear that has been wandering through several towns here on the South Shore, including the town where our daughter, Lisa and her family live. So far I haven't heard of anyone actually being confronted by the bear but there is a video of a small white dog apparently guarding his back yard as the bear passes by.

Good evening. Well I have 3 bags for Salvation Army but need to do at least one more. Need to go thru my long pants and tops.

The goulash came out good, have one container in the fridge and one bag in the freezer.

This afternoon we got up to 100 and then all of a sudden the wind came in very strong and the temp dropped 15 degrees, then the rain came in and we got .08 inches. Of course last night during the night we got a bunch of rain.

All have a good night.

Broke down and turned on the air at 10:30 pm! The "central air" that is! The electric company is going to love me! :emoticon 0122 itwasntme:

You all have a good day tomorrow! I might take a ride out to the Anderson Cottage to visit with Tass. (that's my late Sister-in-laws sister) She spends some time out there this time of the year.
Art's going to a Retiree's Luncheon the Union puts on once a year.

By the way at around 10:00 pm somebody blasted 2 loud M80's to let us know
the 4th of July is not long off! Geez it was so loud I jumped and gasped.

Red wine was sure making a lot of calls last night.

Nothing better than having your bike rides catered, K2. How were the tips?

Being unable to drive, Bert must feel like a grounded teenager, BB. Just when he's on the road to recovery with his hip, his bladder acts up. (Possibly the prostate.)

I'd rather have coyotes in my area than black bears, Bill. Put me on that guy list of Bill and Lee knowing nothing about those 2 TV shows.

Not going for the 10 K run next year, Lee?

KC; Good for you getting your errands out of the way before the heavy rains.

Smaller grocery store is on our agenda for this morning.

Good morning.
Didn't have a particularly good sleep last night. Oh well.
We are only doing the 5K Dave as our friends from Edmonton are also participating. Steve had almost the same heart surgery at the same time as I did. They felt 5K was a good start never having done any. Yet.
Enjoy a nice, cool day by the lake Kathie.
I think we will pop up to our smaller grocery today too.
Tomorrow I have a stupid 11:00 appointment with the eye specialist. A follow up to last years appointment. Why is it stupid? Because the closest eye specialist to us (in Ontario) is a 2 1/4 hour drive from here. Oh well.
I need a jump start coffee I think.
Try to behave gang. I’ll check back on you all later.

Good morning, another dull dreary day here today. It rained again early this morning and right now it's actually on the cool side. I have the AC off & the doors open. I know that won't last but will take advantage while I can!

Lee, another quality job by the OGC's! Looking forward to seeing the finished pics of your basement room.

Pat, sure hope they get Bert's urinary problem figured out. You would have thought they could have called in a urologist to check things out while he was in the hospital. They sure don't make it easy on people to get treatment!

Dave, have fun on your smaller grocery store run! I'm sure you will find some odd or interesting items to share with us. Nice Father's Day gift from your daughter too!

Kathie, sorry not sorry that you finally had to turn the AC on, mines been on for a month. I got an email this morning from Duke energy that shows my projected usage for the month, probably going to be about a $100 electric bill this month. Oh well, can't take it with me so may as well be comfy!

Bill, hope you were able to make up some points at Cribbage last night. Glad you & the family had a nice Father's Day lunch too!

Nothing much on the agenda for today, I repotted a couple plants this morning. Right now the lawn crew is trying to get the grass cut before it rains again. They were here yesterday but the storms made it impossible to try & mow.
Have a fun day all!

Hi there Karen. Enjoy your day.

I had cereral OUT on the DECK this morning. That's a Good SIGN for the 1st official day of Summer. Solstice. Longest day of the year. They start going backward from this point on. SAD.

I watched the Oriole at the feeder and the Cardinal and ducks. It's so quite out in our yard this time of the day. It's like being in a
cemetery......ha ha. Well, not quite!

Off to the Lake for me. I don't think I'll be getting into the water. Maybe my feet. Just too early for that. It will be nice to just sit out and have some "ME TIME" for a change. No deliveries, no baking, no cleaning. LIFE IS GOOD.

Good morning, fellow bunnies! Woke up to the sound of thunder and expect to hear a lot more of it as the day progresses. This sure is a wet week in the Sunshine State. Bummer!!

Kathie - Enjoy your ride to the lake today. My goodness, you actually broke down and put the AC on! Ours has been going since around March 1st. I want to be comfortable, so who cares how much it costs at this point. Found out long ago that, if you don't keep the AC on, once you do turn it on, it's going to have to run that much longer. It has to cool off everything in the area - furniture, rugs, doors, etc. By keeping it on at a constant setting, it comes on when needed and doesn't come on, if not needed. We even leave it at 72, if we are away for a few days. We want Cappi to be comfortable too!!

Karen - I saw pictures on the news last night showing all the flooding by Tuskawilla Park. Amazing that they haven't fixed that problem yet. Speaking of flooding, our wonderful governor signed his budget and eliminated any flood money to come to our county. More punishment for Disney workers! That man is a real a--hole through and through!

Dave - I too can't wait to hear about any goodies you find at the supermarket today. I see where Publix has a seasonal special lemon ice cream. They must have heard how you rave about the lemon ice cream you love so much.

Lee - Sorry you didn't sleep that well last night. Might there be a BEloved nap in your future today?

My turn to make dinner tonight - Chicken pot pie. I'm also making a angel food/ pineapple cake and cucumber salad. They're all relatively easy to make, so I don't mind doing it.

PT is here and he wants to show me something new he has Bert doing, so I better close this before I forget to post it. Have a great hump day, everyone!

Happy Summer Solstice Day. The weather forecast indicates that today will be the only dry day for the foreseeable future so we are pretty much in the same situation as Pat,Nancy and Karen, though without the higher temperatures that they are experiencing.
Not only do I not know anything about those programs, Dave, I don't want to know about them and I expect that you and Lee may have similar thoughts.
Cribbage was not much better last night than it has been so far this season and we seem to be putting a lock on last place, though we are only about a third of the way through the schedule. Hope, though, springs eternal, so perhaps things will change next week.
Our friends, Rich and Dianne and their family are off for a cruise to Greece. That has never been one of my bucket list destinations, but perhaps when we hear of their experiences that will change.
Nothing much planned for the longest day of the year so I'd better get started.

Went to the Lake and Tass wasn’t there. She went back home last night. But while I was watering the plants around the yard my Nephew Jeff showed up. Out of the the 3 nephews he is the one that takes care of the cottage and it should end up to be his someday.
I ate lunch out there on the dock and got my feet in the water. Jill came by to drop off some potato chips. Fun day.

Our Local Channel 7 Weather Man lives 4 cottages away on the lake. Wow… a celebrity. Ha ha!

Yes, I do enjoy our trips to the grocery store. It's fun just looking around and seeing stuff they have. I'd bet I spend more time just looking around than looking for what's on our grocery list.

I love Cole Slaw. Yesterday Kathi pointed out that they had broccoli slaw. Any of you ever had it? I also love broccoli....so I rattled it around in my brain, and when we got home I put it on next week's grocery list. May love it, may hate it. But I'm willing to try it.

Word must be out that the Lemon Ice Box Pie ice cream is available. When we got around to the ice cream section there was only one carton of it left. Drat, I was going to get at least 2 of them to add to my summer stash. This hoarder was beaten to the punch by other hoarders.

So much for living in that big city of yours, Lee. Two and one quarter hours to get to the nearest eye specialist. GEESH! Imagine how far away it would be if you lived in some small burg.

I swear you have a green-thumb, KC. It would be a death sentence to the plant if I re-potted it.

K2; Starting off your day watching an Oriole, a Cardinal and ducks sounds so cool. And then eating lunch on the dock of a lake cottage. Way too much stress in your life.

I'm like you BB, put the thermostat at a certain temperature and leave it alone. Like that old infommercial said, "Set it and forget it". I don't know anybody who doesn't like chicken-pot-pie. (I always have some in our garage freezer.)

I for one am more interested in a Caribbean cruise over a Mediterranean cruise, Bill. And river cruises never enter my mind.

Good Morning Wrabbits!

Dave: You should have bought the Broccoli Slaw. It's a nice change. It's great in Chicken Stir-Fry dishes and it's good in Vinegar/Oil type of Cole Slaw too.
I envy you for having a garage freezer. I always wanted a small STAND-UP self defrosting freezer for either the garage or basement, but never bought one. And now it just seems a tad late in life to be buying it. I have the refrig in the basement that has a decent size freezer for things I find on a good sale.
Funny how one starts to equate buying things with how much time you have left on this crazy-mixed up earth!

It's partly cloudy outside right now, but it's still early. Suppose to be another HOT DAY. Our potato plants are sending up GREEN TOPS like crazy the last few days. We have 20 hills. Should be able to go to the Famer's Market with them in the Fall. Ha Ha.

I have a back X-ray that my Oncologist wants me to have done. It's a simple Walk-In type X-Ray that I might just go and get out of the way this morning. In 2 weeks I have a scheduled Bone Scan, not to be confused with a "bone density" scan. Same Oncologist wants that done too. I checked with my insurance and it's covered.
Always Something!

Announce Breaking News GIF by Biteable
Art actually went and got a HAIR CUT after his Union Luncheon yesterday! Be still my heart. I only had to "shame him" 3-4 times this time around. Why it's such a big deal I have no clue. He does look nice once it's cut.

BB:
I just don't understand how DeSantis can cut of FLOOD MONEY to your county. Does he think Florida is in the desert? It's surrounded by water. And you watch, all those idiots who help pass these laws will get re-elected when their term is up. There are a LOT of CLUELESS people living in this world lately.

Mr Lee: Hope your Eye Appt goes well. That's a heck of a long way to have to drive to get to a EYE Specialist. You would think with Windsor being so close there would be at least one "Eye-specialist in that area"? That's like 5 hours or more if you have to wait before actually seeing a doctor. Just not right at all. And then I suppose they'll put in the "drops" to dilate your eyes and Lu-Ann will have to drive the 2.5 hours home in traffic. All the best.

I just heard a Beeping Sound out front and got up to see what kind of truck was out there. Low and behold the County sent out a truck with Asphalt and filled in a crack in the street in front of our house. He put some Asphalt in the area and then went BACK and FORTH over it with the big truck. That's how he PACKED DOWN the ASPHALT. No tampering it down by hand these days. I got a little chuckle out of seeing that. At least the area is filled until the first frost and it rising up. The NON-PERKS of living in Michigan.

Karen: I saw pictures on the National News last night of the flooding in "Ocala" . Yikes that was a lot of water. As I remember your property is raised up. Hopefully, you won't be getting flooded. The farmers around here are begging for RAIN.

Okay, off to get a coffee and then head over to get the X-ray done.

Have a good day folks.

Good morning. Not much planned for me today.

Dave count me as someone who does not like chicken Pot Pie, in fact any pot pie. Never have liked them. I have once had a deconstructed pot pie and it was good, though I would have liked less gravy and more of the seafood and veggies.

All have a great day.

Good morning! Where the heck did this morning go? Last time I looked, it was shortly after 9. How time flies when you're having fun!! I had to change the dressing on Bert's incision this morning. That was fun. Then I had to help him get shoes and socks on. That was even more fun. He's still got a lot of swelling in his right leg, so it was a bit of a struggle to get his shoe on. He hasn't been wearing shoes since he came home from the hospital. Being in the house, it was easier for him to just wear the socks they give you in the hospital with grippers on the bottom.
Bert is going to follow his primary doctor's advice and have Missy take him back to the ER due to all the swelling in his "man parts". That was what he originally went to the ER for a couple of weeks ago. They were more concerned with the broken hip, as well they should be. Only problem is that Bert can't get in to the urologist's office until July 21st! That's ridiculous to expect a man in pain to wait that long just to see the physician's assistant. Hopefully, they'll be able to give him something to give him a break in the pain.

Bill - Sorry you and Rita aren't doing better in cribbage this year. I too never had a desire to go to Greece, but I know a few people who loved it. G&E leave on their cruise to Aruba tomorrow. It's just a matter of choice. Don't forget Black List is on tonight. There's precious few new episodes left before it's all over.

Dave - Sorry you couldn't get more of your lemon ice cream stash. Better luck nest time! Our chicken pot pie last night was delicious and the best part is that we still have enough left for another night or two of dinners. The pineapple angel food cake also was a big hit.

Lee - That's some drive for an eye examination. I do hope you packed lunch or planned to eat out after that trip.

Kathie - Glad you got to make that trip to the lake. Nice that you at least were able to get your feet wet. Good luck with getting those x-rays done. Death Satan will do anything, no matter how it hurts people, to keep his name in the news. He is by far the most disliked person ever. he has no personality and is just out to make himself feel important. I'd love to have a day when his name isn't always on the front page of the newspaper.

Nancy - Not like chicken pot pie? That's so un-American!! That has got to be one of everyone's favorite meals around here.

Well, I see the morning has come and gone, so I better see about making some lunch. I think hot dogs are going to be the menu for lunch, even though I am not supposed to eat them. Nurse told be that I can have one once in a while, so that's what I'm doing today.

Good afternoon, another grey overcast day here in the state formerly known as the "sunshine" state! It started out nice & sunny & I had hopes of making it to the pool today but not looking to promising now.

Lee, hope all goes well with your eye dr. visit this morning! And congrats for getting signed up for your Disney Run next year! Can't wait to see the outfits you & LuAnn come up with for this run.

Pat, I sure hope they are able to get Bert's newest problem figured out soon, poor guy has been thru the ringer the last month or so. I'm going to give your Pineapple Angel food cake a try next week, the theme for this month's potluck is a Summer Picnic and that sounds like a light airy dessert for summer!

Dave, sorry someone beat you to the lemon ice cream, early bird get's the lemon I guess. Most of the time I do pretty good with plants, except for geranium's. I like them but for some reason they only live for 1 or 2 seasons & then end up rotting out on me. If the rains don't slack off a little bit here I may loose a few more plants to just being over wet.

Kathie, good luck with your scans & X-rays. I got a reminder the other day for my smashing, but I'm in the process of trying to find a new PCP so until I do that test is on hold.

Bill, sorry the Cribbage God's haven't been kinder to you & Rita this year. Can't say as I have any great desire to go to Greece either, or any other place in Europe to be honest. Just doesn't feel safe traveling anymore.

Managed to get most of my housework done today, will change the sheets on the bed tomorrow & do laundry.
Scooter has a Vet appointment Monday morning I've noticed her making a grinding sound with her teeth again when she eats & I suspect she's going to need some dental work done again. The lady at the Vet's office told me not to give her breakfast Monday morning just in case the vet saw a problem she thought needed to be taken care of right away. As Kathie says, always SOMETHING!
Tonight I'm going to a craft work shop at church. Apparently once a month some ladies get together & make cat toys & other items for a local Cat Rescue so I decided to go check it out. It's only for an hour so should be interesting.
Enjoy the rest of your day all, I think I'm going to hang out on the porch & read my book some more

We had a wicked storm come through here this afternoon. At 3:00 it was as dark as night outside. Kind of scary. Then there were all sorts of severe thunderstorm warnings for this area and then over to the coast.

Missy took Bert to the ER around 2:00 they're still there! Last I heard from Missy, they still haven't done the bladder scan. Then who knows how long it will be before they get the results. I'm sure this is so frustrating for Bert. I'll keep you posted once I know something more.
