OK, no pajama pants for you to wear out in public Lee. BUT I can imagine seeing you on doggy walks wearing your Tutu. :) About your postal service, it does seem odd that since its' business is doing less volume, the union still wants a 25% pay increase.

KC; If you show up to the gym every Monday morning and use the treadmill and stationary bike, I'd bet in time that you could do the senior aerobics for more than 10 minutes in the not too distant future. You're a tough cookie.

Great pictures K2. I loved the bright red Geraniums. Such a contrast the falling leaves and gloomy weather. That's a fine deed that the Kiwanis Club does.

You are so right Mike about how heavy those 4 wheel walkers are. I just use it at home when I need to. When going somewhere I just take along a cane. One thing I use the 4 wheeled walker for is putting heavy items on its' seat to move them around the house. Like the 5 gallon water bottle for the doggies.

Good morning.
Not much new since last evening. So I will wish everyone a fantastic day and I’ll check in on you all later on.

Sad Its Raining GIF by Travis Foster
Rain started about 10 mins ago. Nothing big deal YET. But it was enough that Art and his Biker gang called off their ride.
He's going to go get a HAIR CUT instead!

I seem to get a better sleep these nights since I stopped watching CNN, MSNBC, and any other political TV station. There's not a dang thing they can do or say that will make things better for us and what they do is useless chatter.

I'm off to chop up some veggies, etc and make us a pot of Bean Soup. I bought 2 Smoked Ham Hocks the other and they will make the soup rich and yummy.

You all be good. Or at least have fun being bad.

That soup sounds yummy Kathie! It would have bean been nice to have for lunch here after our walk at The Navy Yard!

Got a real thick fog going on here this morning.

Beauty parlor day for the pooches. A bath and a haircut, (at least for Fuzzbutt.) Around the holidays it seems that most pet owners want to get their furry kids looking all spiffy. For us, it's just on their normal 6 week schedule.

When was it that we changed the clocks? Well, I finally got around to changing the clock back in my car yesterday. Never noticed that I'd overlooked it.

I noticed it on a quick trip to one of those mini-marts. A trip at 5:30 in the afternoon. It was totally dark at that time. No, No, No! And it's not done getting dark even earlier.

Good grief, we may get some snow in the air before the weekend. But the ground is too warm for any accumulation to last.

Thick fog here this morning too Dave. I could hear the mournful tones of the fog horns along the river on our walk. The clocks changing on their own is one thing that technology has made better! Our oven and microwave still need manual adjusting but with everything else, including Subie, it Just magically happens.
Hopefully everyone had a good day yesterday. Stop by and tell us about it.

Grey & cloudy here this morning, they are calling for rain later on, some of the remnants of "Sara", we need the rain just glad a hurricane didn't come along with it.
Electrician is coming tomorrow between 8-10 to check out the plug in the kitchen that is acting up. I'm also going to have him do the ceiling fan & garage light that my nephew was going to do. I figured since he was already here he may as well & by the time my nephew gets off work it's already to dark to do the work.
Church this morning & then doing dinner this evening for the youth group at church. Have a fun day all!

Have a fun day Karen. When you say doing the dinner for the youth group does that mean prepping and serving? Let them prep and serve the volunteers I say! It builds character. ;)

FOG is GONE! Whew!!
Fog GIF

LEE: Did it sound like this? https://pixabay.com/sound-effects/ship-horn-very-close-14642/

Dreary and damp looking outside.

Karen: Good move on having the Electrician look at the other jobs. You're paying him already, and he's there. Hope the Youth group dinner goes well. Your church sure does a lot of FOOD days!

Dave: Nothing better than a NICE SMELLING PUP! Manny got a 'haircut and wash' over the weekend! The Dog-Wash-Van comes to the house! He barks when he sees it pull up. I can just imagine how he acts in that Van. He's not a fan of having his legs brushed out.

Jill stopped by yesterday afternoon after her Orthopedic appt at the same place we go to. You know you're getting OLDER when your daughter has to get Cortisone injections for Bursitis in her shoulder! She's going to physical therapy for it too. Hope it works.

Art is going to his 1st AFTERNOON CARD GAME with the guys from church. So happy he doesn't have to drive in the dark. I was the one who suggested they try AFTERNOONS. They're all retired, and it just makes more sense.

Mike: Hope you and Fay aren't chasing each other around the house these days. I know it's hard to keep busy when we can't get outside. :emoticon 0102 bigsmile:

I saw that Rita was on a short cruise with her family last month. Good for her. I wonder if she got that WALK-IN Tub installed. I should message her and ask how she's doing.

Not much to chat about over here. You all go about your business! :emoticon 0102 bigsmile:

Happy "heavenly" Birthday to Bill (Negc).

Rita sends her Hello's to all of us. She said she is doing pretty good with the help of her family. She didn't say if she got the walk-in tub or not.

52F and still dreary up here!

K2. my chasing games are long gone. Fay would hide my walker it I acted up, and those acting up days are over also. We have roses that are still blooming. I also have a wheelchair that I haven't used yet. Our oldest daughter has great grand kids.
Lee, we are having the same weather as you, Kc and K2. Northern California is going to be hit hard in few days. Our
snow may be here tomorrow. I think you would look cute in a tutu,
Dave, I still haven't changed the clock in my bedroom and it is the easiest one to change.
Kc, my son does all the electrical work now, he knows a lot more than I do about it.
I have a Dr. appt tomorrow.

Back from feeding the youth group, it was a small group tonite, I think 6-8 teens. There are 4 groups that rotate feeding them each week & each group has their own set menu, ours is Mac & cheese, chicken nuggets & green beans. I know once a month they get pizza but I'm not sure what the other groups do.
Tonight was easy as the lady I was working with made the mac & cheese at home & put it in her crock pot. So all I had to do was bake the chicken nuggets & heat up the green beans.
Kathie, I agree, I think we eat almost more in the Episcopal church than I did in the Baptist church & the Baptist's can put on a spread!

Mike, I can do some electrical like install a light or a ceiling fan, but checking out a plug is beyond my skill level. Plus it's getting harder to work over my head so I'd just rather pay someone & get it done

Lee, yep feeding them means prep, serve & clean up, but they do take the trash out at the end of the night for us. And they always say Thank you as we are leaving so Rev. Lisa is doing good teaching them manners. A few even came back into the kitchen to say Hi when they first came in.

Dave, I agree this time change is really playing havoc with me this year. It seems the older I get the harder it is to adjust. The first few days I was ready to go to bed at 6 pm, now at least I manage to stay up till 8

Have a lovely evening all, I have a piece of pumpkin pie calling my name, leftover from a lunch AA had in our Parish Hall on Monday, they donated the leftovers to the church staff, which I thought was nice of them

Temperature is down near freezing, but at least there's no fog this morning. Yesterday there were over a dozen schools that delayed classes by 2 hours because of the fog.

Lee; Your new city sounds a lot more fun and interesting than your old town.

Good call on paying someone to do many electrical and plumbing problems KC. I hope you put GOBS of whipped cream on that piece of pumpkin pie.

Like you Mike, I have a doctor's appointment today. It's at 8 this morning and 1/2 an hour away. Good thing I'm used to getting up early.

Happy to hear that Rita is doing OK, K2. Her world was turned upside down when Bill passed.

With a 50/50 chance of snow in the air this morning I guess shorts are out of the question.

Nice to see so many smiling faces as everyone stopped by yesterday. And everyone seems to be keeping as busy as they can which is good.
It’s 32F here but feels like 21F with the wind. I had to laugh at Ava. She wanted out this morning and realizing how cold it was ran back into the house and went back to her bed. No early walk for that girl! Or me.
Ya Dave, I think it’s a tad cool for shorts this morning. Hope all goes well at the doctor’s office. I like early appointments. Less chance of them being behind.
Your church and the folks you have met there really seem to have added a real spark to your days Karen. It comes through in your uplifting posts. That is so neat!
Our west coast also took a hard weather hit over the past couple of days Mike. Many lost power, the ferries were cancelled and because of the threat of falling branches caused by the wind parks were closed! Don’t chase Fay. Stay in one spot where she’s bound to run in to you.
Thank you for the news about Rita Kathie. We realized as well that it was Bill’s birthday yesterday. It would also have been Lu-Ann’s Mom’s 92. That soundbite seemed more like a regular ships’ horn. The fog horns we hear are a much lower tone. A good idea for Art and The Guys to meet in the afternoon. Not having to drive at night, especially after a beverage or two, is one of the reasons we have our games day in the afternoon.
I think I could enjoy a nice warm beverage. I may even flip on the fireplace. Those two things seem to go together while I sit and watch the flurries that are in the air as I type
Off to The Fillmore Theatre in Detroit’s entertainment district this evening to enjoy the comedy of Mike Birbiglia. We found him through a couple of Netflix specials.
Have a wonderful day everyone.

Good morning! Brisk start to the day here as well & I'm loving it!

Dave, awww come on, don't be a wimp wear ths shorts today! And yes, whip cream is a must with pumpkin pie & I'm happy to say I had a "little pie" with my whip cream! :D

Lee, hopefully the snow flurries are just pretty to watch & won't stick around long enough to cause a problem with your travel plans this evening. Animals are smarter than humans in most cases.

Kathie, nice of you to touch base with Rita, I'm glad to hear she is doing ok, the holidays will be hard on her I'm sure.

Electrician was here at 8:10 this morning & in less than an hour had installed a new ceiling fan in the guest room, changed the plug in the kitchen & removed an old ceiling fan in the garage & installed a socket in it's place. I bought a screw in light/fan combo with a remote to put in it, works pretty cool. And the total for all that $180 which I thought was more than reasonable, I did notice he didn't charge me for a service call so I wonder if I'll get a bill for that from the office or if they've dropped the service call fee, highly doubtful. If I do then fine, I was expecting it to be close to $300 anyway.
Nothing much else on the agenda for today other than choir practice tonight at 6:30
Have a great day all!

Good Morning Hello GIF by 大姚Dayao
A TAD chilly up here this morning. 35 F. There was a dusting of the WHITE STUFF on the deck. I think it was from the leftover water when we had rain yesterday. The Sun is trying it's best to stay out and that helps.

Nice CHATTER on here gang! Keep up the good work.

I'm on Church duty today. Picking up Nut Rolls from a fellow baker not far from me and then delivering them to the gal in charge of labeling them with the names of the nice folks that Preordered them.

We get to go to an Oakland Univ basketball game at Eric's college that starts at 4:00 pm. He went through the trouble of getting us tickets, so we're obligated to go. Good thing we both like basketball!

GOOD NEWS from ERIC!
Eric is graduating from College the first week of December. We got the news that he was chosen for a 2 year paid GRADUATE STUDY to get his MASTERS. It's in something to do with Business Management. There were 2 people in the running and he got picked. How nice for him and his parents! Grad school is expensive.
The good part is that ERIC LOVES being at his school/campus, and this saves the kid from having to find a REAL JOB! In these crazy times, it might be a blessing just to stay in school.
So proud of the kid. He's come a long way.

I'm out of here for now. I really would love a piece of PUMPKIN PIE w/WHIP CREAM, but it'll have to wait until NEXT Thursday.
I bought a 10# Turkey the other day at Costco for $.99 cents a pound. ButterBall. Always like to have some Turkey around to snack on.
Lee: I'm thinking of making those Turkey Pockets that I sent you the recipe for. Full of turkey, stuffing, cranberries, some type of potato and some gravy wrapped in pie dough. Made in a muffin tin!

Enjoy your day. Gotta get cracking over here. I want to make a batch of Pizzelles in between the Nut Roll deliveries!
ALWAYS SOMETHING!!

I'm glad your baok brace feels good Karen and as you, I hope it helps. That sounds like a very good charge for all the electrician did.
K2, Fay ordered nut rolls today, they are pretty good but don't taste as good as the ones she used to make. My daughter will bring me some Pizzelles for Christmas. Jungle Jims, a very large international market has a variety of Pizzelles. If you are ever in this area, Jungle Jims is a must see.
Congrat to Eric.
Smart girl Ava, I don't blame her. It is 31 degrees now with snow. It snowed last night but most of it has melted. A warm beverage with the fireplace sounds very good but how do you stay awake?
Dave, if you want to wear shorts and it is too cold, put them over long johns, You may start a new fad, we will call it Dave's hot.
I had an appt with a Dr. today, he said every thing looked good and come back in 6 months.

Just passing through as I go from the couch to the bedroom! Hate when I fall asleep on the couch.

Karen: Si glad your bs k brace came in. If you can post a website if it I could use one to make my posture be straighter when walking.

Nice of that Matt Gaetz guy to withdraw from AG nomination. Can you even imagine what Trump had to say about that!
Now if half of his other picks would do the same it might be a good thing.

It was sooo beautiful yesterday on the way to the doctor's. Big, giant snow flakes coming down at a rapid pace covering cars, yards and roofs. Coming down faster than the ground temperature could melt it. It looked grand where Christmas lights were still on. By the time I came out of the doctor's office there was so much snow that a kid could go sledding. I passed a car dealership on the way home where they were using a leaf blower to get the snow off of cars. Clever. BUT by 2:30 PM almost every bit of it had melted.

Along Lake Erie, towns and cities had a blast of snow last evening during the Cleveland Browns and Steelers football game. The game started with a green field, by the end of it you couldn't tell where the yard markers were because of all the snow. From time to time they had to send out guys with shovels to uncover all the lines and yard markers. Players and officials were all covered with snow. Now THAT'S football weather. Today the temperatures will continue to rise, and by the end of the day all that snow will be gone.

Lee; Exactly how long did it take for Ava to train YOU? :)

You made out like a bandit KC with getting all that work done by your electrician for only $180. Keep that guy's number. Happy that you got that new brace, and hope that it's easy to put on.

"Jungle Jims"??? You're going to have to explain that one to me Mike.

K2; Eric and his parents are mighty lucky to get 2 years of college for free. Those "Turkey Pockets" sound good. I've never heard of them. Can they be frozen? With our leftover turkey and fixings Kathi's planning on making TV dinners and putting them in the garage freezer. She's got plates that have separate areas so everything doesn't run together.

With today being cold with pretty much an all day rain, I don't plan on leaving the house.
