Have yet to use any of the gift cards at the breakfast place. It has been too comfortable to stay in bed until it is abslutely necessary to get up, but I hope to be more industrious in the coming week. Rita's sister Nancy just retired after mucho years as a PT teacher at her high school and her daughters arranged a celebratory luncheon for her yesterday. It was at a restaurant that was new to us and the menu was quite extensive. I succumbed to the currently popular trend in menus and, for the very first time, ordered Chicken and waffles. As I may have mentioned in the past, while both chicken and waffles are among my favorites, I have always considered the combination of the two to be a bit strange. After having them, I must say that I enjoyed them but still wonder how that particular menu item got started. I think it is a southern thing. Then, again there are many foods that make me wonder what made the first person decide to eat them, think it would be good, for example- oysters, steamers, onions and some more exotic dishes.
HOA cookout is next Saturday and hamburgers, hot dogs, corn on the cob, and baked beans and assorted desserts are all gratis courtesy of our HOA. 1 1/2 lb lobsters and 1/2 lb steamers are each $12, so I expect that attendance of residents will be substantial.
BB, I saw a story on one of our local TV stations that claimed that DeSantis' poll numbers have dropped somewhat since he first announced his candidacy. If that is true you may be blessed with him as your governor for a few more years. My condolences.
