It's going to be a HOT one up here for the next few days! The farmers needed the little rain we got the other day and now they need this sunshine. Can't wait for FARM FRESH Michigan Tomatoes and Corn. YUM.

LEE: You nailed again with the Perry Como Song. I actually remember singing along with that song way back when! Hot Diggity!! Ha Ha

BB: Our present church is in Detroit. And it is more than BEAUTIFUL. There are some that after 57 years think it's in a unsafe area. Ha Ha. Like you just don't pick up and move. We have fences, security guards and the City of Detroit is in the middle of a major RE-BIRTH and where our church is located there will be a major changes. You can't sell a million dollar church and it would be a sin to just let it decay if you abandoned it. 129 people voted to buy the 8 acres of land that has 5 acres of unusable water basin rectangle pond on it. 3 acres for a buildable land. That property has sat there for decades upon decades because of the water on it and now they expect to build a church on it. Where are they going to get the money and I'll most likely be dead by the time they actually build something. Their NUTS.
I drove by the property after the church services and saw the people pulling onto the land for the blessing services. It's on Facebook. I kept driving. I totally DO NOT SUPPORT this project. I bet you're glad you asked about this BB. Ha Ha.

Okay, NO MORE FLORIDA JOKES from me, but you can turn on your TV and there's something about the craziness going on in the state everyday. Hard to believe people actually voted Deathsantis into office. All the best to the state and people.

Lee and others Thank you for Art's Birthday wishes from you. I passed them along. The man sure did drag out a week's worth of celebrating. He had a good time and that's all that counts.

Art is up in Port Huron, Lee will know where that is, manning a food/drink station for his bike club. The route where the bikers go through is in a park and they get refreshments and
nourishment food to help them make it back to the starting point. It's the Bikers Clubs biggest money making event. So far they look like they have a fantastic day.
I might head out to the Lake cottage and float around in the water. There is rain forecasted for later today. :emoticon 0122 itwasntme:

Karen: How nice to take a friend with you to church. Have a good day. Hope Scooter is doing better with the teeth grinding issue.

I'm off of here for now. Gotta decide what I'm going to do. I do know one thing.... I AM NOT DOING ANY HOUSE WORK TODAY! It can wait until tomorrow.

Since I went to church on SATURDAY today feels like a MONDAY to me.

Have a fun and safe day all. BB: Hope Bert is hanging in there. Feel bad for the guy. How's his HIP doing? Is he walking outside by himself yet?

Good morning. We ended ups getting close to an inch of rain yesterday. Who know how much we will get today. And now for the past few days we get a bunch of thunder and lighting before the rain, some very close.

The race yesterday was a big mess to start, it took them almost 40 laps before they could go more than 1 or 2 laps without a crash and yellow flag. Once they got it straight it was good. The race today does not start until 7.

Will be going to lunch and not sure if anyplace else.

All have a great day.

Good morning! Lots to read this morning from you chatty people. Almost better than reading the newspaper!!!

Dave - Yes, I said hot sausage, peppers & onions. I'm sorry!! But d*mn, they were good.

Kathie - You are forgiven for your Florida comment. We just can't get away from DeathSantis and his asinine laws. He's so busy running around the country thinking he has a chance to ever be president and does nothing for Florida except put more restrictions on the people of the state. He's disgusting with how he treats some people and how he treats others entirely differently. To him, if you're a repub, you can do anything, but if you're a democrat, he makes you pay a price. Oh yeah, it also depends on what color you are and whether you are LBGTQ. He makes it no secret that he hates both groups. :(
Bert's doing great getting around. Half the time he doesn't even use his cane. He's hoping when he goes to the surgeon's office this week that he will be able to start driving again. Time will tell ...
Thanks for explaining the reason for the property purchase by your church. Such a shame as they just don't build churches like yours any longer.

Lee - Love your little song this morning. I so remember that one from back in the days of the weekly Perry Como show. That show was so much better than the shows my parents insisted we watch = Lawrence Welk and Mitch Miller. Hated those shows!

Karen - Nice that you took a neighbor with you to church this morning.

Bill - So are you using those gift cards for breakfast yet?

Nancy - So where are you going for lunch?

Bert just brought the newspaper in, so now it's time for a cup of coffee and to see what's the latest DeathSantis stunt. No matter what you plan to do today, stay safe & make it a good one!!

We went to Casa Amigos for lunch and as usual both came home with about half, they just put so much on the plates.

The Port or Miam is closed right now. AT 3 this morning a yacht crashed into the ferry for Fisher Island and at least one person died. I just looked at the web cam and they are working on moving one of the vessels, of course it happened right in the middle of the channel. So the 3 ships due in today are just outside of the port waiting to come in. They still have no idea when the ships will be coming in, so of course the new cruises will start late.

Have yet to use any of the gift cards at the breakfast place. It has been too comfortable to stay in bed until it is abslutely necessary to get up, but I hope to be more industrious in the coming week. Rita's sister Nancy just retired after mucho years as a PT teacher at her high school and her daughters arranged a celebratory luncheon for her yesterday. It was at a restaurant that was new to us and the menu was quite extensive. I succumbed to the currently popular trend in menus and, for the very first time, ordered Chicken and waffles. As I may have mentioned in the past, while both chicken and waffles are among my favorites, I have always considered the combination of the two to be a bit strange. After having them, I must say that I enjoyed them but still wonder how that particular menu item got started. I think it is a southern thing. Then, again there are many foods that make me wonder what made the first person decide to eat them, think it would be good, for example- oysters, steamers, onions and some more exotic dishes.
HOA cookout is next Saturday and hamburgers, hot dogs, corn on the cob, and baked beans and assorted desserts are all gratis courtesy of our HOA. 1 1/2 lb lobsters and 1/2 lb steamers are each $12, so I expect that attendance of residents will be substantial.
BB, I saw a story on one of our local TV stations that claimed that DeSantis' poll numbers have dropped somewhat since he first announced his candidacy. If that is true you may be blessed with him as your governor for a few more years. My condolences.

Calling for severe winds and thunderstorms and possible Tornado in places not close to us. We'll get rain I'm sure. I tied up some of my plants and the Cherry Tomatoes so they don't get blown down by the wind.

Negc: Sounds like a really nice HOA cookout next Sat. Better get your order in early for those 1.5 pound lobsters. Enjoy.

I went up to Port Huron and visited with Art and his buddy at their food station. I got to see some HUGE really nice Freighters pass by while I was there. Unusual to see so many on a Sunday.
Then I drove to Lexington Heights to see if our choir/church friends were up at their cottage. Of course they were not. I owned this really cute house by Lake Saint Clair with a view to die for I'd be up there on a weekend like this. They're retired too. Maybe they're still unwinding from their 14 day trip to Hawaii. (I'd unwind up there) Ha Ha

Karen: How was church today. Any food afterwards? :emoticon 0100 smile:

BB: Good to know Bert is moving around so well. Now if he could only get his plumbing taken care of. Poor guy.
Off to get dinner on the table.

By the way TRUMP is in town. He's at a hall type venue that they use for our Michigan State Fair. A good place for him.......after all he is a HOG! Ha Ha. Suppose to talk at 7pm. Thankfully, I don't think it will be on TV. Whew.

Not sure this will be able to be opened.
Pictures of the inside of our church at the Saturday Services.
There is NO WAY they can ever come close to matching this beauty. Crazy people is all I can say. My Grandparents who built the 1st church and the Icon are from that church are looking down in discust.

You should just be able to click on the area where it says www.facebook. com where it says Facebook to see the pictures. If not let me know and I'll try something else. It's worth trying to see.

Good evening.

Did you see the Port of Miami was closed today because at 3:40 am a 30 ft yacht slammed into one of the ferries for Fisher Island. Two people were in the water, one taken to the hospital and the other was dead. It was about 3 when they finally let the cruise ships come in. Who know when the ships will be leaving.

We went to Casa Amigos for lunch and as usual we brought home some food.

K2 nice photos.

Twice today we have had rain storms and gotten 1.09 inches total.

The race started just under an hour ago, so it will be long night.

All have a god night.

Nancy: My hubby won't watch NSCAR races much anymore. Same 2 guys from Chev going around for hours always winning. Said it's boring as all get out. I'm not a big fan of the car races, so I don't bother with it. I know you're into big time.

It RAINED big time here around 7:30. The temps and humidity dropped fast. I have as many windows open as I can in the back of the house. GOOD SLEEPING tonight... right LEE!! :clap002:

Off to bed for me.

Good morning! Looks like a bunch of sleepy heads around here this morning!!

Not a lot going on around here today outside of PT coming for Bert. He wants to take him outside to walk down a few houses and back. Therapist won't be back until Friday, after Bert goes to the surgeon's office. At that point it will be decided whether Bert will continue with in house PT or if he will have to go to out patient PT at the hospital. Unless he can drive himself, there's no one who can take him for out patient therapy 3 times a week, if that is the path the doctor wants him to take.

I had M&J pick up a 1 lb can of lump crabmeat for me last time they went to Restaurant Depot. I had some leftover crab sauce in the freezer from when we had spaghetti & crabs a few weeks ago, so I added the can of crabmeat to that and man,oh man, was it ever delicious over pasta. We have plenty leftover, so that will be on the menu again tonight.

Kathie - You have a new friend? LOL The pictures of your church are so beautiful. They remind me of the churches up in NJ. One is more beautiful than the next. What they build here are so plain and just don't feel like a very special place.

Nancy - You keep getting all that rain and we haven't had anything in a few days now, so you can send some of your rain our way once in a while! I saw that story about the having to close the Port of Miami for that collision. I can't even imagine the madhouse it was once the cruise ships were able to get in and getting the passengers off the ships while the new passengers were kept in a holding area of the terminals. That would be enough to make the workers at the port go have a couple of stiff drinks once the ships left again!!

Dave - Thanks for the song this morning. There were some mighty fine men that got "rained" in that video. Did this old heart good!!! :emoticon 0136 giggle: o_O:emoticon 0137 clapping:

Hi to all the sleepyheads. Have a good day everyone!

I’ve been up and busy. Wash day over here. Change the bedding day too.

Nice and cool outside. Sunny ON and OFF. Suppose to rain most of the day once it starts.

BB: Glad you liked the pictures. Thanks for looking at them.
Only fools would even think of moving from this historic beautiful memorable church to a smaller one. Just crazy.

Getting darker here!

Time to change out the laundry to the dryer.
Then balance the checkbook.
Then do a quick return at Home Depot.

Hope Bert does good with his walk. He should do those walks all the time once he’s okay’d by the therapist.

Dave: Amazing how you find these great appropriate tunes for us. Yhanks.

Add going to the grocery store to my list.
You all have. Great day.

Karen: How was church this past Sunday?

A late good morning.
Went and had my bloodwork done first thing this morning. And have been to fill the gas tank in the SUV, then Walmart for a couple of things and then Publix to finish my list. Now done for the day.

K2, tell hubby that this year the wins are 7 for chevy (with 5 drivers), 4 Toyota (with 4 drivers) and 2 Ford with 2 drivers. So some diversity this year.

All have a great day.

Lee: Notice the TRUCK LINE UP on a Sunday coming back into the USA at the Blue Water Bridge! Wow.
It was neat to see so many freighters!
Lee:
Notice the Canadian Flag. Took that special for you!
It’s raining nice and STEADY here. :emoticon 0122 itwasntme:

:usa1:I bought a new flag for our really tall flag pole. Looks good.

Fireworks are going to be DRIPPY in downtown Detroit if this rain continues. They start at 10 PM! It might stop by then.

Good evening. I had gotten chicken out for dinner and wanted to do something different, so I fixed Chicken Stir Fried Rice, it was okay.

I have been wearing the wrist brace on my left hand for the past day of so, for some reason the palm area and the wrist near it have been hurting. And the index finger on the right hand has decided to swell. And of course the neck is hurting. And I have to wait until almost the end of July to see either Dr.

All have a good night.

Us old farts sure do see doctors a lot. If nothing else, us Baby-Boomers are job security for the medical profession.

My turn today for a yearly check-up with my vascular surgeon. It was originally scheduled for March, then the office moved it to April, then May, and now this morning.

Hope you treated yourself K2 when you finished off your to-do list yesterday. Quite the busy beaver. That sure was one big collection of pictures of your church.

Gotta know BB; How was Bert's walk? My money says it was excellent. He's challenged, and he plans on winning this challenge. Plus he REALLY wants to quit being grounded and get back to driving.

Hi to rest of you Bunnies. Always curious as to what each of you are up to.
