Pound and a half lobsters are $7 something a pound at some of our local supermarkets, a much better deal what they want to charge you folks, BB, but we have a geographic advantage and they don't have to pay airfreight charges to get then to our markets. Prices are still considerably higher than they were only a few years back.
You are right about the limited offerings on nighttime tv, especially on the weekends now. Last night I actually found a station showing Smokey and the Bandit I and II. Was amazed at how young Bert Reynolds and Sally Field looked.
Your mention of "Skinny Dip" reminded me of how much I miss Carl Hiaasen's books. I sort of got suckered into getting James Patterson's latest book. Since Alex Cross' name was in the title, I thought that it would be one of the books that he actually writes, but when I opened it and began to read it, I found that Alex is only a minor figure in the story and that his partner, John Sampson, is the narrator and major protagonist. Had I looked closer at the cover I would have realized that there was a co-author who apparently does most, if not all, of the writing. It was okay but wouldn't make my list of best reads of the decade.
