11:30 pm Friday night…..
WINDCHILL 6 degrees!

Lee, Lu-Ann & Ava be safe on the hwys. Know that no matter what the temp,is in Florida…it’s a heck of a lot better than back home!

Mike: I’ll have tons of layers on while singing. We go into 2 facilities and are suppose to sing outside at 2 homes! I’m sure the folks will demand for us to come inside! I HOPE!

Karen: Your evening temps look like they will be in the mid-35’s. Brrr. Time to turn on the fireplace.

Dave: Stay warm down in your area,
MSU beat your Ohio State team in Basketball tonight. GO GREEN!

I blame you Lee!

I swear that as you passed through Ohio you flipped the switch for snow and colder temperatures. You got through here just in time. Heck our lawn guy showed up and plowed the drive and shoveled the walk to the front porch yesterday.

Adorable picture of Ava. She's got this look on her face of, "WHAT YOU LOOKING AT???".

K2; You sister-in-law sure has bad luck in getting covid 3 times. Either that or she never washes her hands or doing other precautions. I'd sure like to find a way to get AFib under control. As far as I can see, it's gonna act up whenever my ticker decides to go out of sync.

Sounds like you really enjoy your coffee, Mike. Now you've got me curious. What's the brand you usually buy? Although I occasionally buy some other brand to try it out, most of the time my go-to is Maxwell House.

I got to thinking a bit more about the portable AC unit you purchased, KC. Since it does need to be vented outside, is there some sort of "thingy" that you can attach to any rooms window to vent it?

Cold and snowy, but Kathi is still taking a couple of grandkids to Lowe's this morning to build some small project. Then off to Pizza Hut. Local roads are in good shape at the moment.

Good morning! It doesn't look like the new year is going to move at any slower pace than last year, how can it be the 4th of Jan already?

Dave, yes, there is a "sleeve" for the vent hose that fits in the window. But since Jane wanted the unit closer to her kitchen we vented it out thru her patio door via the doggie door. Good luck with the A-fib, our good friend at church has had 2 cardioaversersions done to get her's under control. It's much better but still out of whack some.

Kathie, I know the shut in's enjoyed being sung too last night! Smart move staying out of the crowded van. Hope your Sil feels better soon!

Lee, as I type this I am looking out at a bright blue skie with lot's of sunshine! Still a bit on the cooler side but I promise there is no snow or ice on the roads! Cute pic of Ava, you just think she's reading a book, don't be surprised to find a "Chewy" order waiting on the front step when you get in. :)

Mike, I'm running low on cookies for my coffee, if you have a few you want to send south I'd be happy to take them off your hands. Was last night your night with the Tierneys?

Well, I'm 0 for 3 on microwaves! The new one has been acting up off & on with the door not wanting to open when it's done. I was able to reset the child lock most times & get it to open. Thurs night it just did not want to open no matter what I did. I could hear the latch release but not all the way. Finally got the door open and decided I wasn't going to fool with it anymore, so back to Sam's club it went.

Got Jane's A/C unit hooked up, of course the project wasn't as simple as expected but it's done for now, not that she will be needing it anytime soon!

Got all my outside lights down & put away yesterday so now I get to just relax & putter today. Have a great day all & STAY WARM!

BRRRR.... freezing cold here in Michigan! OUCH!

Karen: The CHOIR goes caroling TODAY starting at 11:30 a.m. Lord help us not freeze.
Like Art said... there is NO WAY the 2 homes we're going to will let us stay outside and sing. I suspect the one house will have Booze Shots of Brandy and his wife will have all kinds of cookies, etc for us even though they were told be prepare NOTHING and that we wouldn't be going into the houses. Ha Ha The WIND CHILL is 3 degrees!
BUMMER on the Microwave not working, but at least you can take it back at SAM'S Club with no big return issues. Do a Google search for the best counter microwaves.

Out of here for now.

DAVE: Give yourself an extra shot of Captain's in your 7-up. Keeps the heart working and keeps you warm.

Later gang.

Lee, Lu-Ann, Ava....... WELCOME to FLORIDA!

That was a mixed up evening tonight Lee. Atlanta is not used to snow, it does not take much snow to put a halt to the city. Maybe you will be out there before the snow comes. Safe traveling tomorrow. Nice picture of Ave
Dont freeze when you are singing K2, If your temps are going to be like ours, it is going to get pretty cold. hoping your sister in law will be okay.
I forgot to post this last night. I don't think much has changed since then. It is bright anc cold today, but supposed to get colder
I'm going to read w;hat has been posted

Thanks for the check in Lee!
Caroling went well today. We only had to sing OUTSIDE IN THE WIND at one place. It was short and “sweet”!
we were well received at all locations.

Here’s a few pics from a few stops.

Thank you Karen. It hit 66F as we were pulling in to Publix. And it was beautifully sunny. That microwave thing is just frustrating! Hope you can get it all sorted.
What a cheery looking group of carollers Kathie. You should all be commended for singing outdoors in cool weather like you had.
I feel bad for the folks in Blair’s path Mike. You are so right about them not being used to snow and ice in the amounts being forecast. The buzz word on the Weather Channel this morning was “crippling”.
My watch gives me a weekly report on how often my heart is in AFib weekly Dave. The cardiologist prescribed a couple of medications to try to stabilize the AFib. I think it’s one of those things you’re kinda stuck with.
I’m gonna sign off. I’ve dozed off a couple of times trying to get things read and this note done.
Have a good night everyone and stay warm wherever you are.

I just now turned on the Steelers Bengals football game, Bengals up 10 -0 Bengals of 1rst quarter. so far, so good. end of the 1rst quarter. 10-7 now
Lee, I use my watch to let me know what day it is and believe me, I need it. We are expected to get a lot of snow Sunda;y, very cold for the next few days, b;ut Dave and K2 know that.

I'm sorrly Karen, the cookies are slowly vanising. If I would have know you would need some, I would have eaten them faster. The Tierney's just came home from Florida so they didn't come over Friday nig;ht.
back to the game.

I feel happy and pleased that you are safely in your Florida home, for the next couple of months, Lee. That's one long drive I wouldn't even attempt anymore. Enjoy yourselves and spend the next day or so catching up on your sleep.

Happy that your chilly caroling went off without a hitch, K2. And we appreciate the pictures.

Damn KC, you and counter-top microwaves do not seem to be getting along. I've never run into anyone with that string of bad luck. I thank you for explaining that those portable AC units do come with a "sleeve" so they can vent properly. Those gadgets do sound dandy. One last question about them; Are they heavy, or could you easily put them in a vehicle to take them somewhere else?

Mike; I was surprised that the Bengals didn't run away with the game, as many expected.

Back to bed now, for Fuzzbutt and me.

A good Sunday (I think) morning from a 40F Kissimmee.
Thank you all for following us along and wishing us safe travels.
Dave, you nailed it. I’ll have to check my trip odometer but I believe it’s a tad over 1200 miles From home to here. The traffic everywhere is a lot heavier than when we started coming down. A quieter day today picking up groceries and, while we can, maybe spending time in the spa with a glass of wine.
The Bengals didn’t let the “W” slip away Mike. Although it looked like they might. Cookies are the darndest things. On minute they’re there. Then suddenly they seem to vanish.

Dave, Kathie and Mike, please keep an eye on the sky and heed those weather warnings. It sounds like Winter Storm Blair is going to affect a lot of folks. Karen, I know it’s going to get cold here so you stay warm too!
Time for a Thomas’s English muffin and a coffee!
Have a good, safe day.

Happy Sunday GIF

SUNNY and 15 degrees with a WIND CHILL of 2 degrees. NOT A FLAKE OF SNOW around! So far so good here .... Except it's freezing cold outside! This gal did not venture out to church today. (shame on me)

Lee & Lu-Ann: It's going to get better, as far as the temps go! Anything is better than 15 degrees!
Hopefully, the pool and spa are working and nice and warm for you two. Watch out for the PIN-HEADS when you're out on the roads. Keep your eyes on the road. HAVE FUN too!

Mike/Dave: I watched that Bengals vs Steelers game yesterday and it was a good one. A low scoring game means they both were working hard out on the field. There were some really hard TACKLES going on in that game. OUCH.

Karen: Did you pick up another Microwave yet? You could do a Consumers Report on those darn things by the time you get done. They all come from CHINA, so I don't really think it matters what brand you buy. You just have to pray you get one that finally works.
Hope you're staying warm down there with this cold front that has hit everywhere.

Mike: We're down to one very small plastic container of Apricot filled Kifle and a 1/2 a loaf of Banana Bread. I'm trying my best to NOT BAKE anything. I really need to lose some weight! Baking the last few months has not been a good thing, since I EAT what I bake! :emoticon 0102 bigsmile:
You and Fay STAY inside and use up any food you have in the cupboards and freezer. Not worth going out to the stores in this freezing weather.

Later gang.

Lee, I hope you didn't put on SHORTS just yet! The neighbors will be laughing for sure! :emoticon 0102 bigsmile:

Just had to show you all that it is SUPER SUNNY and the Sky is Blue. Hard to believe there are places with lots of snow.
I must say our furnace is working overtime. 1st pic is our backyard and 2nd pic is our the front window. Little dusting of snow from the other day. Just unbelievably cold. IMG_2331.jpegIMG_2332.jpeg

Let ‘em laugh Kathie. I had on my shorts and a sweat shirt when we visited Disney Springs to see the Christmas decorations this morning. Yes, I do watch the traffic all around us. Like deciding if I should stop at an amber or go through because the vehicle behind has no intention of stopping. We hit Publix and a car wash on the way home. Afternoon wine time was spent, partially, in the spa enjoying 70F temps and bright sunshine. The weather isn’t killing us but the fifty five cent CDN dollar sure is!
I like Green Mountain coffee too Mike. We picked up some Lavazza at Publix today. It was a true BOGO.
Tomorrow we’re off to The Poly for breakfast. We’re both hoping it is still decorated for Christmas too.
Be good folks.

A chilly start to the day this morning, frost on the roof tops & 62 degrees in the house when I turned the heat on this morning!

Kathie, nice pic's of your choir outing, sorry for the speed reading and getting the day wrong.

Dave, those A/C units are on wheels so they are easy to move around, BUT they are also heavy when you have to load them into the back seat of my truck & then unload them, which I had to do for both sisters.

Lee, sorry to hear the last leg of your trip was not that great, but glad you've arrived safely and now relax & enjoy your time here!

Mike, it's ok that you polished off the last of the Christmas cookies, I made some applesauce raisin muffins this afternoon & some ice box cookies, that will keep me in snacks for a few days now.

My friend Pamela came over yesterday & brought me a microwave that she had in her garage. She had offered it to me before, but then when she didn't mention it again I didn't want to bug her & ask her for it. It's an older Kenmore so it doesn't have the child lock on the door so that's good. She bought it used a couple years ago so no telling how long it will last but at least I have a working one for now. Think it's time to turn on the fireplace & fix a cup of hot chocolate, see you all in the morning!
