Seems Mother Nature decided we didn’t need snow flurries last night Mike. I hope Ohio and Kathie’s Michigan were spared too. Still, it’s only 29F here but feeling closer to 22F. With 39F as a high that’s 30 degrees cooler than last Monday.
I know snow isn’t a worry for Florida Karen but hope the nasty weather stayed away from you!
I’m off to the eye doctor this morning. My regular annual appointment. I know it’s time to replace my glasses. I would like to keep the frames I have and just do the lenses. Glasses are silly expensive!
Today is supposed to be Dancing with Parkinson’s but after last week’s debacle and the young ladieks attitude when Lu-Ann called her about no notice I don’t know if she’ll want to go or not.
Anyway, whatever you all get in to, I hope it’s fun and you all have a good, safe day.

Good morning, not much to gab about today, going with Jane to the vet's later this morning, Hansel is not feeling good again & not eating. May need to consider getting a 2nd opinion if they can't figure out what is going on. She was able to get him weighed at the vet's on Sat & he had gained back a pound, so that was encouraging.

Lee, I don't blame LuAnn for feeling hesitant about dance class today, but if the sessions are helping I hope she will be able to continue. It's to bad that people can take more pride in doing a good job & being helpful, it's such a small thing to ask!

We were spared any bad weather here yesterday, we were under a tornado watch from around 8 am till 8 pm, we had some thunderstorms with lot's of thunder but little rain & no wind to speak of.

Enjoy your Monday & Happy St. Patricks Day all!

Good (almost) Afternoon.

Things just got away from me this morning.
Last evening I went to turn on the 'dishwasher' (the electric one, not Art) and a button showed up as LOCKED. Well, I read up on how to UNLOCK the darn thing and it didn't work.
I found every Manual for this kitchen EXCEPT the dishwasher one. I have a couple more places to look today.
ALWAYS SOMETHING! Thank goodness the dishwasher isn't totally full. I'll be washing them by hand soon!

Karen: I feel bad for Hansel being so sick lately. Poor pets can't TELL US what the heck is going on. Hope the Vet can figure things out.

Lee: Hope you can use the same frames, but you know how they want to UP-SELL you and make big bucks. You get used to your frames and it's hard to get new ones you like.
I got my last frames and lenses at Costco. Even there it wasn't cheap!

How many people usually show up for the Dancing lessons? I hope Lu-Ann gives it another try before giving up. I'm sure it helps with balance and keeping muscles strong. Let us know what happens.

Mike: We got some rain showers yesterday morning on the way to church, but nothing big deal. Enough to make you put the WIPERS on and off.
Today I saw on one of the weather sites we are supposed to get 1" of snow. Give me a break.
It's BLUE SKIES and BRIGHT and SUNNY outside. Maybe they're talking about UPPER MICH.
Hope you have a good day over your way.
Did you tell us that Fay is still driving? If so, tell her to be very careful, lots of St Patty's Day drinkers will be out and about or leftover on the road from the weekend celebrations.

I'm out of here for now. Gotta try and find the DISHWASHER MANUAL or look it up online.

Be good bunnies.

A quick update before we head to dance class.
This is the version with Nelson Riddle's Band. There’s also a great version with Count Basie.
How did things go at The Vet office Karen?

Gotta try and find the DISHWASHER MANUAL
That’s nice that you named your dishwasher “Manual” Kathie. :emoticon 0102 bigsmile: Like so many appliances these days was it made in Mexico? I hope you find the instructions to get it unlocked! Has Art thrown the breaker to turn it off and back on? Sometimes a “hard reset” will work around the problem.
What treats are there with coffee today Mike?
I have to admit that I have a hard time whenever we lose a family member from our group. I‘m finding it extra hard to come to grips with losing Dave. Thanks for listening my friends.
To look out at the blue sky and sun you’d never know it’s only 37F and feels colder!
OK, I best put on my dancin’ shoes. Hmmm. There’s a song for tomorrow.

Lee and the rest of us: I still have a pit in my stomach and broken heart over losing our Dave. It’s hard not getting a post from him. This is going to hurt for awhile for sure. :sign missu:
Thinking of Kathi and hope she is coping. I know she will be busy with tons of legal paperwork. Hope she reads along and stops in here soon.

THIS LONG SO FEEL FREE TO SKIP OVER IT!

Lee: I love your post about naming my dishwasher!! I found the “manual” for the dishwasher. Followed the instructions. Didn’t work. Pulled the plug from the wall outlet under the sink, no help. ”I” threw the switch in the breaker, no help. I do know that pulling the outlet plug in wall and throwing the breaker do the same thing, ( per Mr Electrician Artie)
Looked up You Tube videos for help. Called General Elec and a nice lady actually took the time to go through everything with me that I already did! Duh!
Finally called the Appliance store where we bought dishwasher and a REALLY NICE gal gave me a number of a fellow they work with for repairs. Said he was way less expensive than G.E. He would be back from vacation on Thurs and she would send him the model# etc, etc and he would call me.

ARE YOU ALL STILL WITH ME ON THIS LONG EXPLAINATION?? Ha ha

So, I said to myself after looking at the panel on the dishwasher one more time that I would press a few more areas and see what happens.
LOW AND BEHOLD the
LOCK Light went out“ and I touched the START button and it actually worked.
That was after over 3 hours + of trying, looking at videos, calling GE, and the appliance store!
Sorry this was so long, but I had to get it OUT of my head!
I called the appliance store back and she said better to wait until Thursday when the service man calls me to CANCEL the service call. I would still be on his list if needed. Saved some money so far…. thank goodness.

Okay, back to your regularly scheduled programs! Ha ha.

Kathie, I'm proud of you!!!! You sounded just like me when something quits working for no reason, I will push, poke & watch You-tube videos until I either figure out the problem or finally decide to let a professional deal with it! Hopefully your fix will work & no repair person will be needed.

Lee, sooooo, the question on all of our minds this afternoon, were there any instructors for the dance class today or did you have another coffee meeting?

Add me to the list of people who still expects to see a post from Dave when I log on in the mornings, he was part of our morning routine for a LOT of years.

Hansel is doing a little better, he saw another new Dr. at the Vet clinic and Jane & I really liked this lady today. Like the other lady vet she took her time, answered questions & made suggestions. He has gained a bit of weight back but is having real issues with diarrhea (sorry tmi I know) the vet said it's possible he's developed a food allergy and has switched him to a bland prescription food. No treats, no flavored foods just the wet food. If this doesn't solve the problem then she suggested sending off a stool sample to check for micro-organisms that could be causing the problem, there stool panel only checks for parasites & he was clear of those. If that shows nothing then an ultra-sound would be the next step, I was pleased that she laid things out in a simple manner for us. Jane is supposed to make an appointment for a follow up in 1 month & I suggested she make it with this same Dr. I think she will have better results if she can keep it to just 1 Dr. in the clinic treating him. It's rough when our fur babies aren't feeling good & can't tell us what hurts.

That sounds like a little good news for Jane and Hansel Karen. Nice too that you both liked the new vet. Yes, the studio was open today. When we walked in the young lady from Parkinson’s Ontario started apologizing for not sending an email. We just let it go…
I‘m glad you got the dishwasher sorted Kathie. A good idea to keep the service call for the time being. Are you pouring us all a wee shot?
See you tomorrow everyone.

I had a blood test this morning and had the results very quickly. Most things are acceptable and t hos that arent are just barely out of the box.
It was sunny and cool today, not too bad but tomorrow and Wednesday is supposed to be warmer
Lee, we didn't get any snow either. hope the Dr. visit went well and not too much change in your vision.
glad the dishwasher is working K2/
Karen, glad Hansel is feeling better and hope the new Dr/ can do more for him.
more tomorrow/

Good chilly morning!
Thanks for the shots Kathie. I saved mine until after my early walk with Ava this morning.
Hope little Hansel improves on his new food Karen.
Good results from your blood work Mike. That’s always a good thing.
Ah, my eye appointment. You had to ask. :emoticon 0111 blush: I arrived 10 minutes early like I should. The receptionist greets me and asks how she can help me. “I’m here for my 10:00 visit with Dr. Isaac“ I said. She looks and says “I don’t see you on the schedule. Did you confirm the appointment?” I know I did but I look on my phone for the email. She looks on her system for my name. At about the same time we both see my appointment. 10:00 a.m. On March 31! We both laughed. I’ll repeat the whole thing again in two weeks.
Today is our weekly games day. It’s here this week so we’ll have a busy day getting ready.
You all have a good safe one.

Lee, is there a law against drunken dog walking???I hope you did well on your game today, also enjoy the dance class.
Thanks for the shotsK2 , now maybe I will be able to walk a straight line. I like the way th e glasses keep refilling.

Mike: You never want to run out of GOOD BOOZE to give you that straight line pick-me-up! The refills are free..... help yourself! :emoticon 0102 bigsmile:

Couldn't get on here earlier. Seems my luck is the same with computers as the dishwasher.
I need to try and get my "Password" issue straightened out so I can receive and delete
e-mails on my cell phone and iPad. Just not in the mood to spend HOURS trying right now. If somebody wants to get a hold of me badly enough, they can call on the home or cell line or leave a
text message. I'm getting too old for all these gadgets.

Lee: We all make that mistake of going to an appt that isn't on that date! Hope it wasn't too far from home!
You could have used that Whiskey Shot this morning. It wasn't exactly BALMY outside. We're at 66F right now and sun peaking in and out. But it's still COLD for me.

On a GOOD NOTE..... Art was able to do a bike ride for the first time in months. He said going out to their usual McDonalds stop in Lake Orion, MI wasn't too hard, but coming home he said he started to feel like he was running out of gas. He said his legs were okay, it was just overall "out of steam" feeling. His buddies were all happy to see him back riding.

Lee....Art has continued to use the Netti gizmo (plastic bottle - not the actual pot) in the morning and said it helps! I told him that you and Lu-Ann use it too.

Karen: I liked the view of the Church Live View cam this past Sunday. I think I saw you. Just looked like your hair was darker. Either way..... you ALL sounded beautiful. I like when the camera pans over the church pews and choir area, etc, etc.

I'm doing basically NOTHING today. It was a good day for that since I didn't have Artie under my feet (Ha Ha). I usually clean the place when he's out on a bike ride, but since this was my first day HOME ALONE I did NOTHING and loved it.

I'm off to get things ready to use up some blueberries and make a small batch of scones and then get dinner ready.

You all have a good evening. If I remember correctly Tuesdays TV shows are BLAH!

K2-Mich

I made the Blueberry Scones and added some fresh Orange zest & a tad of orange extract. Art gave them the taste test and they PASSED! :D

Dave would be so proud of me. I figured out how to RECORD Jimmy Kimmel. And then I googled HOW TO watch it on another day. I’ll try it sometime on Wednesday. I remember Dave telling us how he recorded LATE SHOWS!
I’ll let you know if I had any success. I should have learned this decades ago! Ha ha.

Off to bed. :emoticon 0115 inlove:

And starts another Wednesday. And again I’m waiting for Ava to roll out of bed to go for her walk.
63F today. 43F by Saturday. Crazy weather.
If we didn’t record network shows to watch later Kathie we’d likely watch very little! We have a very basic (cheap) tv package. We do stream a couple of services. We like the British shows so we flip back and forth between BritBox and Acorn. I have my Formula One (racing) streaming service and that is pretty much it. Your scones sound yummy!
The dog wasn’t drunk Mike. I was. :emoticon 0102 bigsmile: I really dislike the dance class. Not so much the dance part but the 20 something instructor turns her music (current “pop” crap) up so loud you can’t hear yourself think. I mentioned to her that the folks in class are all over 60 and have Parkinson’s. They are not deaf. I don’t think she heard me…
Mornin’ Karen. Hoping Hansel is feeling even better today.
Well, look who wants her morning walk. It’s Ava. Back later my friends.
You all have a super Wednesday.

Quick good morning check in, I'll be off & running again in a few minutes.

Lee, a shame the instructor is so clueless about the people she is working with in the dance class.

Kathie, scones sound delish, I could have used one for my breakfast this morning. Is the dishwasher still unlocked? And yep, that was me you saw with the darker hair in choir on Sunday, I colored it a few weeks ago, was tired of the grey hair.

Mike, congrats on the good results from your blood tests, I think it's all those treats Fay feeds you that keeps you so spry & healthy!

Haven't heard from Jane this morning on Hansel, he wasn't eating again yesterday so Jane couldn't get his medicine in him. I went over & got him to take most of it, then went to the store & got some pill pockets for him. He's not supposed to have anything but his special food, but he also needs his meds, so I showed Jane how wrap just a tiny bit of it around his pill & feed it to him. She was able to give him his meds that way last night.
Church this morning, then the Lent soup supper tonight, catch up with you all later!

Good Mid-Morning Wrabbits. How does the morning get-away on me? I must be moving slower and not paying attention to the clock!
So far it's actually Sunny and mild outside. Supposed to get up to High 71F later in the afternoon.
Just in time for the 1st Day of Spring on Thursday! :smiley24:

Karen: Hope that Hansel will be okay. Never easy trying to make sure our pets are okay.
You have a busy day going on today. Remember to keep hydrated with all your running around.

Time to do a review of Legal papers.

We need to get some Legal paperwork in order and see if JILL's name is on everything it should be.
Need to look up and see if we have instructions for DNR (Do Not Resuscitate) in case we're all but dead and don't want to be kept alive by machines! YUP, it's a hard fact to come to grips with, but now is the time to take care of that in writing. I think it's in the trust papers, but needs to be given to Jill. Poor girl will have her hands full when something happens to us! :( Just want to make it as easy as possible for her.
This all is being brought to light because of all the people passing lately. Makes you wake up and think how to help the people left behind.

Right now, I need to pay some BILLS online.

Today's crazy event:

I was trying to print out a Word Document that had RED highlights and low and behold those RED paragraphs didn't print. So, I opened my printer and the COLOR Cartridge was last put in on April of 2024. DUH.

I get my printer ink cartridges sent to me from Hewlett Packard Instant Ink in advance of when I need it. They can tell when I'm running low and send it out. Has worked like a charm for years and years.
I called H.P Instant Ink and talked to a "LIVE/REAL PERSON" and she will be sending me out a COLOR cartridge by express mail. Nice to know that worked out so fast!

ALWAYS SOMETHING! :emoticon 0102 bigsmile:

Okay time for a glass of White Wine. Yup, it's only 2:30 PM, but I just feel like I need a nice glass of wine! Ha Ha. Pat would be so proud of me indulging myself. ;)

My gosh Karen, when aren’t you off and running? It’s a tough call. Fur kids need their meds even if they have diet restrictions. We have a “pill popper” that we got from Park Ave Vet Clinic in Apopka! Dr. Rick was a greyhound guy. He’s no longer at the practice.
I’m changing my name, officially, to “Bill Online” Kathie. You can pay me any time. :emoticon 0102 bigsmile: It is hard to think about but having all of our papers and wishes in order sure makes it easier when we go.
Auto correct changed “papers” to “pampers”. Glad I caught it! But having our “pampers” in order sure makes it easier when we go too!
What’s been up in Ohio today Mike? I was wondering about a twist on Fay’s chocolate cake with cherry pie filling. Do you think it could be done with a good chocolate brownie mix too?
I best close up the windows. It’s starting to cool off with showers headed our way in the 8:00 hour.
See you all in morning folks.

Received a phone call from the funeral home. I could come and pick up his ashes. I took his tuxedo he liked to wear on cruises for him to be cremated in. Started crying and then I thought, you are bringing him home!
The urn is marble but looks wood grain. Sat it on the kitchen floor when I came home. Jack and Zoey went crazy smelling it.
Thank you KC for your post on the newspaper website.

If it’s of any consequence Kathi, your post and the picture it painted brought a tear to my eyes too. But I bet knowing the three of you were sitting on the floor with him brought a smile to Dave’s face.
