Well........ I have SOMETHING.........SNOW FLURRIES on and off so far this morning!

This really isn't unusual for PURE MICHIGAN. We can get snow in the middle of April here. That's why you don't even think of planting anything around the house until after
Memorial Day.

Hope everyone is doing WELL this morning!

Karen hope everyone brings something as yummy as your "dish" to the PotLuck tonight.

Mike: No more cookies today. I took out a Banana Nut Bread out of the freezer last night. I'll leave you ALL some to have with your coffee. :emoticon 0102 bigsmile: Later gang.

Nothing much from me either, I got my pie made for the potluck tonight, will do the pasta a little later. Meeting a lady at Walgreens at 12:30 to sell an item from FB marketplace.

Mike, Kathy K isn't on any threads that I know of, she just pops up on Facebook from time to time. I will tell her you said Hi.

kathie, bummer about your snow, it's a bit chilly here today too. It was about 40 degrees when I went on my walk this morning & I think the high is only going to be in the 60's.

Lee, some mornings are just like that, hope all is well in the 'burg!

Thanks Karen, I recognize and remember her well from days past.

I will enjoy your banana bread K2, Fay used to make it years ago.
Hi Lee, I know the feeling.
Yesterday morning the entire yard was pure white from t he frost. I have seen it like that in WVa but never here.
one year we had a large snowfall the last day of March.

Just stopping by to say I'll be off to CHURCH & Choir Rehearsal tomorrow, so if you don't see me you'll know I'm saying a prayer for all of us!

Mike: Our snow flurries didn't amount to anything. Came through and was gone just as fast.
Tonight at 10:00 pm we are at 30F. NO WIND right now.

Karen hope the Pot luck goes well for you and the others.

Lee: Don't let Lu-Ann hear you say that "you've GOT NOTHING"! Ha Ha.

Sleep well everyone! :smiley24:

Good Sunday morning everyone.
A 25F start to the day but it only feels like 18F! We could be in for rain this evening. Good news is you don’t need to shovel rain.
That banana nut bread hit the spot with a coffee Kathie. Thank you. ;) I hope you have a good turn out and choir rehearsal. And thanks for saying a little prayer for all of us.
Yes Karen, how was the pot luck? Did the buyer show up at Walgreens? I know you think of all of us when you’re at church. Thank you too.
I remember a bunch of years ago Mike when I was out in shorts and a T-shirt waxing and polishing my car. The following weekend was Easter and we had a huge snowfall! Wow, waxing a car. There’s something you rarely see or hear now with all of the finishes and coatings.
I’m going to see if Ava wants to go for her walk before Lu-Ann gets up or we get her up. I hate to wake her but if her first meds are late it throws her whole daily schedule on its ear.
Have a good day everyone.

K2, thats the best way for snow, not to last too long. Thanks for the prayer.
Lee, would that be a freezing rain???? I hope not. Does anyone wax a car anymore?????Kmart used to have a good cleaner wax. My coffee is calling, join me anyon

REAL FEEL here in PURE MICHIGAN (pure cold) is 25F. Brrr.
Hope you are all enjoying your Sunday.
We're going to a family dinner at 4:30 pm to celebrate this OLD LADIES' BIRTHDAY! Had to put it off until Art got over whatever it was he had! ;)
Going early so we can be back and in time for the Michigan State game.

Have good evening. Gotta Go.

Dinner went better than good! Good company (family of course) and yummy food. And my birthday drink was an EXCELLENT Old Fashion. :clap002: Came back to the house for Ice Cream and Birthday cake. One of the gifts was PRACTICAL and funny at the same time. One of those BACK BRACES you pull the tabs and it has some kind of Copper threads in it and wraps around to the front. Jill must have been listening when I was telling her my BACK was giving me aches since our trip in the car to Chicago! Can't wait to put it on when I'm standing in the kitchen or working in the yard once it warms up. And it might be a while before it warms up. As I am posting this at 8:54 pm Sunday night it's SNOWING HUGE WET FLAKES outside. Come Mother Nature..... time to give us a break. I don't think it will amount to anything, but still it did cover the deck as it was landing. I got up and looked outside and can only see something coming down in the wet spots in the street. Might be rain by now. Or SLEET!

Karen: Hope the lady showed up at Walmarts for the exchange!

Out of here we have a MSU BIG TIME football game about to start. Sweet 16 is great time to watch Basketball! The letdown is when the games are all finally over.

Be safe and have a good Monday folks. Love you all.

A windy start to the day after a nasty thunder storm last night.
Canadians are headed to the polls on April 28 to elect a new Prime Minister, NOT a Governor, to lead our country. Not a job I’d want at the best of times, let alone now.
I think that, sadly, Lu-Ann and I are realizing that as the relationship between Canada and The US frays the chances of returning to Florida, perhaps ever, are rapidly diminishing. That makes me sad.
But that shouldn’t stop all of you from having a wonderful day.

Good morning or possibly Good afternoon depending on how slowly this get's typed.

Kathy, that is sure some crazy weather you have been having lately! Glad you had a nice Birthday dinner & drink!

Lee, it makes me sad as well to think that you & LuAnn are not comfortable visiting the US, totally understandable, but sad none the less.

Mike, Parrot Head say's Hi back, she was surprised to hear some of us were still chatting.

Not much to yak about today, the lady did show up on Saturday & bought the item from FB and this morning I took a small load of scrap metal to the junk yard and made a whopping $16.75, which is better than nothing but it was a pain getting in & out to sell it.

The pot luck dinner Sat. night was nice, but again, few people attended, only 12 but we had a good time in spite of low turn out.
After church yesterday I had some errands to run in the Villages so my friend Pamela rode along & helped me find the places I needed to go, I bought her a belated Birthday lunch at Cracker Barrel.
And that's about it from Belleview, weather is mild so I may take a book & a coffee and go sit on the porch for a while, enjoy your Monday all!

Good afternoon Wrabbits. Took me long enough to finally post this. Interruptions!!

I managed to TACKLE my empty cottage cheese & sour cream containers this morning, along with other carry out containers that were haphazardly a mess in the pull-out drawer in the kitchen. Lordy, why do I need 40 plastic containers with some missing lids! Every container now has a
LID to match the container. Re-cycling the ones that didn't match up! Actually, a nice feeling.

Lee: Hope your elections work out MUCH better than ours did.
Such a shame that we have to feel bad about going into each other's countries for vacations that help each of our economies. I feel bad for the Mom & Pop type of businesses that will be losing money on EACH SIDE. Having to even think that crossing a border these days from Detroit to Windsor would be subject to refusal is unbelievable. We've all but had open borders forever. You pull up and answer a few questions show them your passport or license and you're on your way! Now if either side wants to be nasty you could be directed to "Secondary Inspection" and have the dogs sniff your car out and be detained for no good reason. And this isn't the Canadians doing at all. It's that SOB Frump's doing. The man is so bent on revenge for anything and anybody that "crossed" him in his entire life that he doesn't even realize the fall out of his actions. Talk about an ENTITLED Moron. And yet, he has a following that loves what he's doing. May KARMA hit each and everyone of those people harder than hard. Yes, I'm totally upset and it's driving my nervous system crazy lately.
Okay, enough of my ranting about politics. I try my best to control my anger, but it's not easy lately.
Lee........We'll still make a trip out to see you when the weather is warm, sunny and dry. That's if Canada will accept us. I know you and Lu-Ann always will.

Karen: That's really neat that you can take scrap metal to that yard and make a few bucks. Heck, these days that's enough to buy 3 dozen eggs here at Kroger's! Last year you could buy 8-9 dozen eggs for that amount and maybe more if they were on a nice sale. Those days may never come back. Once the price goes up it STAYS UP unfortunately.
At the restaurant last night, the prices on most of their full dinner menu items went up $5 bucks. We don't eat out half as much as we use to because that's the NORM now at most decent restaurants. SAD, but they have to cover their increased costs too.
I must say that the servers are making more on tips because of the total on the bill! We won't get into that subject. Too many new laws being passed regarding TIPs.

How long does it take for you to drive to the Villages from your house?
Glad you got the Marketplace item exchanged to the buyer. You never know if they'll actually show up sometimes!

Mike: I want to tell you that my birthday cake was Chocolate inside and White frosting with flower decorations on the outside. Jill bought it from Meijers and it was better than Kroger's cakes we've had in the past.
Hope you and Fay have a good day and week. It's COLD & WINDY here again this morning.
38F now. Brrrr.

We have an appointment with the TAX MAN today at 6:30 pm. Good thing it's still light outside that time of the evening! We have a few questions about Durable Power of Attorney papers to ask him about. Trying so hard to make things as easy as possible for Jill
if we should pass together from an accident or whatever. Also, need to ask about the Quit Claim deed we have filled out to help avoid probate court. Does it need to get updated? Never thought about any of these things when we were 50 yrs old! Scary having to think about it now.

The company that fertilizes our lawn just came for the 1st application of the year. Hope the granules can get through the frosty earth! Ha Ha.

I'm wearing the BACK BRACE gizmo while I type on here and it's NICE. It reminds me not to slump over while sitting in front of this big monitor! I like it. I have it on OVER my sweatshirt.

Best thing I ever did was get this BIG Monitor set up on this desk. I have never used the LapTop that it's connected to separately in another area. It just sits there connected to the monitor. I do try and unplug the laptop and run down the battery every so often, but I know I'm burning out the laptop by not doing it on a regular basis. OH WELL! Too old to remember all this TECHY stuff.

Have a good day and stay true to yourselves. The rest of the world really doesn't give a crap about little ole us guys! (I DO THOUGH) :smiley24:

KATHI: If you're reading along, I hope you'll have a good day too. Hope the pups bring you some comfort by having them around. Hope you aren't too overwhelmed with paperwork. Take care! :heartbeat:

Kathy, it's about 7-8 miles from my house to where I generally go in the Villages, so from church it was about 6. I've been generally lucky with the people I sell to on Facebook showing up, there's been a few that haven't but since I'm only a couple blocks from home it doesn't bother me to much. I won't wait longer than 15 mins. for someone & then I message them & tell them I am leaving. Also if I have a meet set up for the next day I ask them to confirm the meet the day of, no confirmation, No meet. Good luck with the Tax man

Michael went to Pattie's earlier today then stopped over here. They are planning a California trip summer 2026, I hope it isn't burned down by then. He wants to see t he large trees and a few other places. I think Patty just wants to go somewhere.
It is bright and sunny today but rain tomorrow, we have had a lot of rain lately and the temps have for the most part been normal.
I'm glad the back brace is helping K2. I know how the back pain feels. Did you eat a piece of t he cake for me???? We don't buy cakes often but we like the Jungle Jim or Costco cakes better than Krogers, Fay hasn't bought the lawn fertilizer yet, I see my wild flowers are coming out so it is about time.
That is a lot of metal Karen, did you have copper in the mix. I use to buy iron pipe from junk yards for a large post and put some cement in it. Glad you enjoyed t he turn out even if there wasn't a large crowd.
Lee, that is too bad for both sides. We stayed one year in S, Texas and there were Canadian there and also stayed in Fl a few years. We became loose friends with a man and his wife while in Fl, I just wonder if he is planning the same thing you are, Are US people still buying toilets in Canada?????The Canadia toilets use more water sinse the Americans had to go to the low flush toilets
.

A’Burg Guy

Another wintry start to the day.
We’ve pretty much switched to low flush toilets here too Mike.
In Ayr Karen, old Tom (He was old when we moved to Ayr) used to drive around the area in an old beat up pickup truck collecting scrap metal. After a few years that scrap made him enough to buy a brand new RAM pickup. Tom was a good guy so called him a couple of times for old BBQ’s because we wanted him to get the scrap!
Yes Kathie, the times sure have changed. And you are correct. You and Art will always be welcome in our home. That goes for all of you.
This piece is from Stewart Reynolds, a comedian, writer and communications consultant based in Stratford, ON. It pretty much covers what most Canadians are feeling and thinking over the past few weeks…

Good Afternoon.
Lee: I liked that clip. Kind of says it all. "Just because we're nice, we're not pushovers!" Hope all Canadians feel that way.

I have nothing good to post today. Had a few stressful phone calls from church people regarding a brother & sister that really need to be in assisted living. The sister has had Dementia, he just had to have an emergency Stent put in and is coming home today. It's a mess........in more ways than one. Priest and his wife and another member were over there trying to calm her down.
The brother & sister are BOTH in denial. Sad when life hits you like this.

Okay, on that not so pleasant note.........I'll get off of here and grab a cup of coffee.

You all have a great rest of the day. 41F and actually feels colder outside.

FYI: The day is getting better! :clap002::smiley24: Sometimes you just have to shut off your brain
and stop worrying about everybody and everything and think about you! ;)

Got our bedroom bedding washing. Doing the comforter cover too
so, there are a few loads. If I was only as rich as Oprah I'd have somebody
change the bed every day. Love fresh sheets! :emoticon 0102 bigsmile:

Got my back brace on and it helps me walk straight and gives me some support on the
lower back.

Taxes went well yesterday evening. We're doing everything right so far according to the CPA!

Okay, I was in this room ordering some Collagen powder from Costco that you can only get online. This is my very 1st ONLINE COSTO order. Nice that there is NO SHIPPING CHARGE!

Still cold here. 41F now at 4:22 pm. Later gang
