Mike: The TRIED & TRUE "pecan mini tarts" turned out better than I thought they would. It's a good thing since my back is killing me. I just took a Extra Strength Tylenol and hope it kicks in before bedtime.

Lee: I went to our local Dollar Store ($1.25 actually) and picked up some Scottie Tissues. Low and behold they're made in CANADA! I wonder how long the prices at the Dollar Store will stay the same. I did see that they have isles with $3.00 & $5.00 items. I wanted to buy some paper doilies to put on the clear plastic trays for the tarts for Sunday, but they were all out. I'll try another Dollar Store sometime tomorrow.

Our church is having an OUTSIDE CLEAN-UP DAY tomorrow (Sat) to get the grounds cleaned up for Palm Sunday & Easter. I'm passing on going. My back doesn't need anymore stress.

Take care my friends. Sleep well and enjoy your Saturday tomorrow.

I have to sprinkle powdered sugar on these before setting them on the trays on Sunday morning. I did one tart to let you see how they will end up looking. I’m going to finish a few more on Sat. Ran out of energy tonight!

Good morning.
My you were a chatty bunch yesterday. That started my day with a smile.
The verdict is that I have mild to moderate hearing loss. Some age related and some, the audiologist thought, could be connected to my early days being involved in motor sport. All I know is that we will be looking around for hearing aids because even the moderately priced pair after provincial grants and discounts were $5500!! My hearing isn’t THAT bad.
I have a busy day of prep ahead so like a good “Nonna” I best get my chopping, shredding and things started.
Coffee’s always on Mike. K-cups so every cup is fresh.
I bet it would go good with Kathie’s tarts.
“Taking Tuesday off so you can cut Jane’s grass” doesn’t sound much like taking Tuesday off Karen.
I likely be busy so won’t see you all until tomorrow so you all have a great day.

Hi gang!

LEE… CAN YOU “HEAR” ME NOW! Oh wait, you haven’t gotten any hearing aids yet! ;)
I bet you could find something online that they advertise for a couple of hundred dollars. They can actually adjust them over the phone. Kind of hard to believe. Do a Google search. All the best.
Hope the Italian dinner is as yummy as it sounds. Save us all a piece of the Tiramisu. :emoticon 0110 tongueout:

Karen: Do you get a decent crowd at all the services this coming week? I know Palm Sunday and Easter Sunday will draw out the 2-3 time -a-year people for sure. It happens in all churches.
Lately I go to Midnight services and skip Easter Sunday because of the crowds. The choir members try to divide themselves up so that each day has enough singers.
Good luck with the grass cutting. Hope it’s not too high or thick. Watch your back!

Mike; it’s Sunny and dry here in Michigan. I bet you have Tulips & other bulbs dancing in the breezes down your way. Art’s Daffodil's are up and about to open. Other perennials are poking through the grown too.

I’m off to finish up some baking and then I HAVE to wash the kitchen floor. Crumbs from butter dough are the worse on a dark wooden floor with the Sun shining through the bay windows by the
door-wall. (Slider to some of you)

Enjoy your coffee and be safe.

Lee: I googled OTC (over the counter) hearing aids in Canada and found lots of ads!

IMG_2705.png

Enlarge picture or do a Google search to see them better to get an idea of what’s out there!
(just trying to help out) I liked the fact that some advertised FREE RETURNS!

Thought I’d take a break and check in on my bunny family.
Thanks for the suggestions Kathie. We did an extensive search yesterday and found many of the models you suggested. The problem we encountered is often the supplier is across the border. Even though we specify availability in Canada. Costco Canada actually comes up often and is highly recommended by reviewers. We have one in Windsor.
I know what you mean about the “cooking crumbs“ on the floor!
Back to work!

K2 Those tarts look delicious. I bet they didin't last long. Every time I would eat something with powdered sugar on it I would get a lot of the sugar on me. I haven't been out in a while so I don't see many flowers. My yellow wild flowers have the ground covered behind my shed, I think most of the spring flowers are up or over. As a young boy I use to go up the hills and gather wild flowers. It is sunny and cold here, tomorrow I want to look at the wild yellow flowers, hope it is warmer.
Lee, Thanks for the coffee. I hope you aren't like me. I would check every thing out if I needed something but looked at so many I would get confused, good luck picking a pair if you are going to buy them.
I hope it isn't too hot when you cut the grass Tuesday Kc.

Good evening

Kathie, your tarts look yummy even without powder sugar, I'd leave it off just cause like Mike said it can be messy. Unfortunately the services during Holy Week are not that well attended, Maundy Thurs will have the largest crowd & the choir will be singing for that. The others will probably only have the usual 7-8 regulars.

Lee, good luck choosing a pair of hearing aids, hopefully you can find some that cost less than a cheap used car.

Mike, shouldn't be to hot when I mow Tues, I'll start fairly early in the morning & Jane's front yard isn't to big. It's mostly weeds & oak samplings that need mowing this time.

Had a nice turnout this morning for the funeral of Anita from the Villas, one of the people who came was Tiki, the lady I did the backsplash for. She said she just had to come check out the church I'm always talking about. Later she told me she thought the church was very pretty & she thought the grounds & gardens were beautiful. I told her if she ever decided to change churches she should give us a try.
Lots of good food at the reception that followed & best part I didn't have to help set up or clean up as another ladies group in the church is in charge of funerals.
Now it's time to just sit back & relax a bit, have a good evening all & will be sure to remember you tomorrow in church

Well, I did it again. Forgot to log in on our site and lost my post.

I should be in bed. Long day tomorrow and this crazy BACK of mind gave me a hard time this evening. Took a extra strength Tylenol and hope to get a decent nights sleep.

Have a Blessed Palm Sunday all. Did you notice that your Palm Sunday and the Orthodox Palm Sunday fell on the SAME DAY THIS YEAR! No after Easter Sales for us this year!! HaHa a

Good Night. Going to check for the PINK MOON now. It was bright YELLOW and huge Friday night.

Good Sunday morning, quick check in before heading to church!

Kathie, I was wondering if our Palm Sunday & Easter were falling at the same time this year, I'm sure Walmart will have "some" jelly beans or other Easter candy on sale next monday.

Lee, how did the dinner go last night? Any leftovers?

Mike, hope it warms up enough for you to get out & enjoy the wildflowers, we have Phlox(?) starting to bloom along the roads here, pinks & reds & white, really pretty looking when it's in full bloom.

I'll check back on you all after church

Good morning.
Dinner was a great deal of fun. Lots of conversation, laughter and food. Pretty much everything one needs to truly appreciate everything around them.
There were some leftovers. And when offered up everyone was eager to take home a little “care package”.
We’ll get the hearing thingies sorted but based on reviews and Dan‘s input - he has had them for 5 years - they seem to be the way to go. Cost, follow-up and warranty are all excellent.
we’re taking Ava to The River and then heading into Windsor. I’ll be back later to check on everyone.
Have a wonderful Sunday my friends.

I warned you all that I’d be back.
How is your back Kathie? I hope that you did get a good nights sleep and it has settled down. Mine was a touch twitchy as well after all of my time on my feet in the kitchen yesterday. Do you remember the little tray you and Art brought us last summer? It was perfect to set out the fricos that we made to have with a beverage before dinner.
I hope that Tiki does decide to give St. Mary’s a try Karen. You speak so highly of everything about your church. And you yourself put so much effort in to keeping the grounds up and being part of events.
Well Mike, one of my favourite singers, the late Jimmy Buffett, penned this line…

”Writing his memoirs, losing his hearing
But he don't care what most people say”…

In many ways that seems to sum me up. As long as I can hear or in the case of this amazing group, read, what those who matter say I’ll get to the aids soon enough. I’m going for a coffee. Should I leave a mug out for you?

Kc, I have not seen wild phlox anywhere but do see it a lot around here as part of the plant decorations. I walked to the yellow wild flowers today, Fay took a chair and I got about 1/2 way appox. 75 feet there before I sat down. The grass was tall and it hampered my walking. I sat down for a short time and just looked around. We have wild purple violets that we never had before plus a few very pretty bright dandelions.
Lee, I woudn't worry too much about hearing loss unless you keep asking people to repeat them selves. Hearing aids can make a big difference if you really need them. Trying them for 30 days would show you the difference when wearing them or not wearing them. I am basically deaf without mine.
It got up to 65 today.
K2, what were you doing up at 1:00 this AM? I looked at the moon last night, it was very pretty but small. It didn't seem pink to me.

From freezing lat week to a 50F start to today under cloudy skies. We could see 72F today before the unsettled skies bring what looks to be a rainy week.
Like your grass Mike, ours could get long and that will make it tougher to mow. I think more people should sit for a bit and appreciate what is around them.
I hope my glasses come in this week. Some things are pretty blurry.
Dance class this afternoon but other than that not much going on today.
I wish you all a good, no, make that a GREAT Monday.

Spotted in The Detroit River this morning! What kind of prehistoric creature could this be? Look at its jaws, humped back and long tail!! Is it cruising the water looking for the fish that have started running?
NO, IT‘S JUST A LOG.

Hello Wrabbits,

Another busy bunny here also. Pat & I went to church for the Lenten morning prayer service and since we had seen conflicting times on the start we got there early, around 9:45. Turns out it started at 10:30 so we went to the Parish hall to wait until we could get into the church. While we were hanging out Rev. Lisa came by & asked if we had plans for after church, we said no & she said she had a project she could use some help with if we didn't mind, so of course we said yes. After church we helped her stuff & label the envelopes for the annual Easter letter. It was nearly 1:30 by the time we finished so of course we went out for lunch. Went to our favorite Mexican Restaurant & never left until after 3, we always have a good time laughing & talking with her. I don't think I'm going to need anything for dinner tonight, the taco salad I had was good & very filling.
Mowing at Jane's tomorrow morning, will check in after I get home from there

73 degrees and sunny. Tomorrow it will 53F. Hey, it’s Michigan at it’s best.

Spent 2 hrs at the Funeral Home doing PRE-PLANNING of our wishes! Actually picked out the coffins too! Yup, getting things off my mind and making it easier for whoever has to worry about things! Maybe “Me” or maybe “Art”. We did finally settle on going to Great Lakes Cemetery. That was a BIG decision for ME. I always wanted to be in a quaint local cemetery. It won’t matter much when I’m GONE! :emoticon 0122 itwasntme: Kat enough of that.

Art has a few Daffodils that have bloomed by the creek. More to come.

I have an appt on Wednesday to have the Dermatologist look at a “spot” on my back! Always something.
Next I really have to get my lower back looked at. want to make sure if it’s just BAD ARTHRITIS or something is wrong with a disk! Today is much better than yesterday. Thank goodness. The brace Jill got me helps femind me to stand up straight.
LEE: That picture looks like DRIFTWOOD to me! Hope dance class was good today!
Karen: I peeked in on a recorded showing of your service and the choir was sounding great. What the heck is going to happen the Sunday after Easter and NO DIRECTOR or Organist??
Our choir did good on the Bake Sale. $1200.00 of which $500.00 was a donation from a lifelong friend of all in the choir. Her daughter sings with us. We didn’t have the usual Pre-Sale on our Nutrolls, so her donation really helped our total.
We have a Purse Raffle going on for 2 designer purses to have on Mother’s Day. We had to get a Michigan License to do this. If we sell all the racfle tickets we should make around $4400.00 bucks.
Mike: We have TONS of Wild Violets all along the creek as a border. As soon as they are up I’ll take a picture. Here’s the first of the Daffodils.

Out of here for now.
Karen I just saw you POPPED on. What nice long, but fun day for you. And going to lunch made it even better. Nice of you to help with the stuffing of envelopes.

WOW! What a busy couple of young ladies Karen and Kathie were today. Who could blame you if you sat down with your feet up for a tad.
It was 72F on our way into Windsor for dance. This time tomorrow…45F! :(
