Corky, still thinking we'll hit 7329 posts by D-Day? I suspect you are right!
Yes, I still think that is about right. Actually, based on current day calculations, I would say between 6,380 & 7,329...but I will stick with my 7,329...don't let me down DDD's!!! We have some Quacking to do!! :D
Corky, I don't think they have any pancakes with corn kernels in them now, well at least not here. They have harvest grain and nut pancakes that are really good
Yum - harvest grain and nut panakes, those sound divine. Maybe some strawberries and whip cream on top. =coolsign Are we there yet!!! :lol
You just never know what current Duck Crew members are capable of doing!!!!
Shipmaven - I have been warned to be careful what I ask for or mention. But still, I opened my big Quacker!!! =screwy

Quack Quack Niecie and Mama Duck maybe they won't be too hard on usthe DiT's outnumber Ducks. I know to watch boB and Mal but have not met Bruice yet. Think more things happen when you can't see them to blame it on them though.. Emeraald cruise was a good shake down cruise with them. Can't wait for the fun to begin.
Pictures Glo !
Here is the room that freaked my DD out when she saw it! It's all grown up now. Shadow and Kiefer seem to enjoy being able to walk through the room without stepping on clothes or dishes. I just like to stand in the doorway and look at the fruits of all my hard work! Note the ceiling. Those are the glow in the dark stars and planets my DD put up there when she had bunk beds back when she was 8 or so. Forgot about those. Just saw they were there when I took the pic.

The room looks GREAT Glo. LOL We had those glow in the dark start in our kids rooms too.

LOL Maw, I can see us DITS now, being marched around the promenade in "ducky formation" with Duck bills on and quacker sounds blasting, :lol :lol :lol BUT if they make us do that I think Bruce needs to lead in his Donald outfit ;)

You will need a day of recuperation post-cruise. Staying over an additional night on the 22nd is an excellent idea. I'm one of the ones staying over...

Since I realize many more are peeking at this thread than are actually booked, here's the YouTube version of the PowerPoint presentation of the White Pass Railroad (Skagway) that Gram's daughter sent to us via Gram and which I shared with the Duck Crew in e-mail.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=O9rwNQAeQgg

It not as compelling in the smaller view, but I hope you'll enjoy it anyway. It's a spectacular trip.

Good evening, Ducks, Ducklings and DITs, from central Joisey where it's a 78 degrees.

Now that the A. C. Meet is behind us.....and what a GREAT time we had.....it's time for us to start getting serious about our Canada cruise next month. All we keep talking about, though, is the Alaska cruise next year. Then again, this one is just the two of us so we don't need to "plan" anything.

Calgon, I play Flexicon (25 points), then Chictionary, Crosswire, Spelling Bee and Word Slugger(20points).

Hope everyone had a nice & safe weekend! :thumb :thumb

Here's something to do in San Francisco that Calgon might not even know about... a bay cruise on the USS Potomac! We are trying to get our Alaska buddies together for a 2 hour Veteran's Day cruise on the Potomac. It sounds like great fun!

Veteran’s Day Cruises 2008
10 am to 12 noon and 1pm to 3 pm
From Oakland’s Jack London Square
Tickets: $40 Adults ~ $35 Seniors ~ $ 20 ages 16 and under ~ $30 Vets and Active Duty in Uniform.
The Potomac Association honors all our Veterans and Active Duty Military Personnel on November 11 with a very special Veteran’s Day Cruise. The two hour cruise on San Francisco Bay features these historical landmarks: The Naval Station at Alameda, The USS Hornet, The Coast Guard Station at Yerba Buena Island, The Naval Station on Treasure Island, and a salute pass-by of the Jeremiah O’Brien and the submarine Pampanito. Complimentary, non-alcoholic beverages will be available.

Here's a little history of how the bay area came to be home for the ship...

After FDR’s death in April 1945, the Potomac began a long and ignominious decline from her former role in world affairs. After many adventures and many owners – including Elvis Presley at one point – she was seized in 1980 in San Francisco by U.S. Customs for her role as a front for drug smugglers. Towed to Treasure Island, the proud vessel’s hull was pierced one night and she sank.

The USS Potomac Resurfaces – Back to Her Old Glory
Refloated by the Navy two weeks later, she was sold to the Port of Oakland for just $15,000. The Port of Oakland spearheaded a cooperative effort with organized labor, maritime corporations and dedicated volunteers to complete a $5 million restoration.

Opened to the public in 1995, the Association for the Preservation of the Presidential Yacht Potomac now operates this National Historic Landmark as an active memorial to Franklin Delano Roosevelt and the momentous times through which he led our nation.

Looks very interesting, Glo, but checking the schedule they're currently showing (2008), very few ducks would be in San Francisco on the days that tours are conducted.

Well, Bruce said he was coming to SF early before the cruise...so...

I noticed that also, but I thought it would be an interesting thing to consider when folks are in SF. I am sure they will be posting the 2009 schedule in January or so... I'll be sure to watch and post a link for when they do.

Thanks for keeping an eye on that, Glo.

Good Monday morning, Duck Crew! <img src=http://www.webweaver.nu/clipart/img/nature/birds/quacking-duck.gif>

I've been very remiss in something, and must apologize - through the slew of ducky notes that have been written, I forgot to thank everybody for their good wishes for my *$&# foot. I have tendonitis, not plantar fasciitis, and I suppose it's simply a matter of patience until the brace helps (the injection didn't).

I hope all Ducks, Ducklings and DITs have a great week. Each week that passes is a week closer to D-Day! :thumb

Quack Alert -

Sunflower says that United Airlines stopped trading on the stock exchange this morning. It later resumed. What's going on? Concerned because we're already booked for UAL for the February Group Cruise.

United Air Lines stock drops due to old Web news story

THE ASSOCIATED PRESS
1:44 PM EDT, September 8, 2008

An old story about United Airlines' 2002 bankruptcy filing resurfaced on a newspaper Web site on Monday, decimating the airline's shares before trading was halted.

United blamed the drop on the appearance of an old Chicago Tribune story on the Web site of the South Florida Sun-Sentinel.

Both are owned by Tribune Co. The company referred questions to Chicago Tribune spokesman Mike Dizon, who did not immediately return messages from The Associated Press.

United said the date on the story appearing on the Sun-Sentinel Web site had been changed. The story was removed from the Sun-Sentinel Web site by midday.

"The story was related to United's 2002 bankruptcy filing, and United has demanded a retraction from the Sun Sentinel and is launching an investigation," United said in a written statement.

In afternoon trading, the stock was down $1.12, or 9.2 percent, to $11.18. It traded as low as $3 per share after the rumor began.

United Airlines emerged from bankruptcy protection in early 2006
