Greetings from Atlantic City! We decided to come down a day earlier....we need some fresh ocean air! :) :)

Sis thanks for the hotel confirmations.....you are the BEST! I would have had you book A. C., but I don't think you get anything for booking comped rooms! :lol :lol :lol

Glo, it sure hasn't taken you too long to get into the swing of things!!!! :thumb :thumb

We'll check in periodically as the weekend progresses!!!! :party :party :party :party

Have no fears - there are no plans to cook/bake/broil Pucci. But do you think he could pass for a Duck and be brought on board?

I can't get to replying to each and every note, but I DO appreciate the work some of you are doing to ferret out names of restaurants, tour suggestions, etc., etc. Please keep in mind that, to the best of my knowledge, DDD's are arriving anywhere from Saturday to Tuesday, so the best that can be "planned" for now will be small, individual groups with similar interests. I'm sure that Duckies being Duckies, and @ddicts being @ddicts, various plans will fall into place as the time nears.

For those kind enough to ask about my foot, I was diagnosed with tendonitis about 3 weeks ago. Yesterday, my Podiatrist injected the ankle with a cortisone shot and put this "Rube Goldberg-esque" removable brace on the foot/ankle to reduce its mobility. It takes a genius (not me) to figure out how to take it off/put it on with all the Velcro twists and turns! :dizzy So far, I can report that the shot has done nothing except make my ankle sore!

I need a Duck Crew laugh cure. But just the thought of Brucie riding side-saddle on that duck being dragged in our wake is a curatively pleasant thought!

You're welcome, Sis. As you've known for years, I'm here to help and I love what I do.

Glo has jumped in with all feathers flying! <img src=http://www.animateit.net/data/thumbnails/77/Ducky_2.gif>

Have fun in A.C. I certainly wish I could be there. One year I'm determined to get there for the Meet. I know Suer puts in a huge amount of work to make it successful and fun.

Don't worry, Mama Duck, no new surgery for me. I waited too long to have mine (due to the threat of losing my job, which is, of course, illegal), and have some permanent nerve damage that the doctor isn't happy about right now. He thought it might be a bit more reversible, and he's looking at another spot he isn't happy with, but he said it might be more arthritis. I'm working, behaving myself , and wearing shoes with plenty of support. Hope your foot and ankle get better really fast!
My favorite restaurant on Fisherman's Wharf has always been Tarantino's, but I'm more than open to trying others. I LOVE the fresh seafood, especially shrimp and crab, in San Francisco. I have two other favorites - The Carnelian Room atop the Bank of America Building and Ernie's on Montgomery Street. Haven't been to Ernie's in years, so I don't even know if it's still there.
Mary Ann, we love the Carnelian Room too. It's where I took Deb for her senior prom if you can imagine. Love the view!!! I think the Earnie's you speak of is gone. It was around for as long as I can remember but went under in the mid-1990's. One of my favorites is the House of Prime Rib on Van Ness. Not far from the wharf and was wondering if you ever been here? Here is a link:

Just checking in again. Will keep in mind that there are many ducks that can help with the studies for grandson. Thank you.

Mary Ann hope you are feeling better soon. :)

House of Prime Rib is my sister's favorite restaurant. They go there all the Frick-n-Fracken time! Sans kids, which is probably 99% of why it's her favorite place!

I am afraid that by the time I get off the ship, I'll be a victim of ANATIDAEPHOBIA!

Shipmaven - this would almost be funny to think about "Rube Goldberg-esque"...but Den and I have both been there on foot problems, he currently with plantar faciitis, so we won't laugh at the vision. May you heal sooner than later. =hug

Heated pool - does anyone know if Princess heats their pools for the Alaska run? When we were on the NCL Star to Alaska the pool was heated, we didn't swim, but many people did.

Glo - Loved the cartoon. Thnx for the :lol

Happy Thursday DDD's!!

Corky, I didn't "test" it myself but my DD said the pool by the spa on the Star was heated and they had the cover over the pool that has it and there were folks in it.

Ouch Mary Ann....hope the shot kicks in too. I am another who has had plantar faciitis, not long after I hurt my right knee...talk about hobbling around. Get well soon!

I am another Prime Rib lover! Yummo!

I wake up with pain from Plantar Faciitis every once in a while too. When it bothers me, I do these exercises and it pretty much goes away until next time. http://orthoinfo.aaos.org/topic.cfm?topic=A00149 I've been doing them for years, and usually the problem won't come back for a looooong time. It feels so good not to feel it!

Mary Ann, so sorry you are going through this. Hope you figure out how to work that dang thing. Maybe Pucci can help him mom!

My sisters and I loved Tarantino's Mary Ann. I am looking forward to going there again. Prime Rib can be found here easily but fresh fish isn't a mid-west staple. I'm looking forward to a seafood fest for a few days. :)

Globug - no doubt you are a DIT. Love the cartoons. The goat was great. :lol

Judi - I missed getting irish coffee from the Original Location. I'm going to DEFINATELY stop there this time. I wonder if it's as good as my Dad's??

Ladies, I found out a big secret about the Sea Princess... she doesn't have engines! This is how the ship is actually powered.

Anyone want to join me in a tour of the "engine room?"
