Sis - I'm finding similar direct rates with the Sheraton for their least expensive rooms, and from roughly $232 to $248 per night (senior rate at both hotels) at the Fairmont Olympic for their least expensive rooms. Taxes (minimum $25/night) must be added to these rates at both hotels. And you must add in the cost of transfers from airport to hotel, hotel to ship. Pier 91 isn't exactly in the center of town.
Through HAL, one night at the Sheraton is $297.72 + $20.28 taxes, including transfers from airport to hotel, hotel to ship. That will pretty much even out the cost HAL/Sheraton IF a person wants to stay at the Sheraton. The Fairmont IS more expensive compared to the cheapest rooms - through HAL, $369.60 + $28.40 taxes, including transfers. Almost everyone so far is staying one night. For a stay of several days, yes, the cost of booking a hotel directly will go down.
The Seattle Hilton (Airport) that you show at $270.00 is $224.24 + $13.16 tax, including transfers, through HAL, considerably less expensive.
Edited to add: the least expensive room at the Marriott Waterfront, where I stayed last time, is $299.40/night including tax. When I add in the cost of transfers, I'm right up there - or higher - than my rate at the Fairmont Olympic, and definitely much higher than the Sheraton through HAL.
