DH is very excited about this cruise for some strange reason. He had a few free hours yesterday and voluntarily tried on his cruise clothes and wanted to pick out what he wants to pack. My entire dinning room table is full with his clothes. He picked out enough for many many back to back to back cruises. Little does he know, 90% will be taken away. :lol

I still have a few things to buy, other than that I have my sneakers packed so I am ready.....

Well greeting to all, that will be shipping out on the Maasdam, Oct. 30. The wife and I are joining you on this cruise and hope to meet you during the 10 days. I have been reading your conversations over many weeks, enjoying the enthusiasm of those who have decided to vacation out of Norfolk. This will be our second cruise from Norfolk. We live just across the river in Portsmouth and really enjoy the ease of cruising from Hometown USA.
I am REALLY looking forward to being pampered again and the enjoyment that comes from meeting new people who enjoy cruising.
Did anyone decide if the group of you are going to meet at a location in Norfolk the night before the cruise? Where might that be? We may come and gather with you if it is OK.

KE4nwx,

So you're joining us after following all this. Brave soul. :grin The group I believe is meeting at O'Sullivan's wharf. We won't be joining you there, but we'll be there on Saturday. DW and I are also local, Great Bridge in Chesapeake. Welcome aboard.

Welcome ke4nxw! This should be a great sailing.

Suer - CYE.

I'm pretty well set except for some new gymshoes. I went out tonight to shop for some and ended up with bridal shower gifts. Oh well.. I have to do that sooner or later anyhow as the shower is when we get back. Besides.. it's going to be fun being a mama-in-law (hopefully not a witch-in-law).

I have my spacebags out now.. Is it too early to pack?? - Kelly thinks I'm pushing it.. :lol

Maureen I feel like a car running with brakes on here and the tires spinning . Have the lists made washing done now just to fold and put in suitcases. Paw has been counting days and outfits all morning.
Suer I hope paw and your husband are near same size because paw may need some of the extra clothes your husbnad wants to take. I think he is packing a little short. We have promised to take less but as usual I have more than I will need I am sure. So easy to do when you are driving to port. Two weeks from this morning I should be almost across Missouri to Kentucky line.

Wow! Everyone starts packing already. If I started now, I'd be taking stuff out of the suitcase to wear before the cruise, or unpacking because I couldn't remember what was packed already. :dizzy

I just told the kids not to plan on using the washer/dryer Wednesday evening prior to the cruise. I figure I'll get everything washed then, start packing on Thursday and not wear anything I need for the cruise the last couple of days.

Marc, I finally got registered! I have no idea why I had so much trouble! I don't have time today to read this thread, but I will next time I'm killing time at work!
Let me know when/where we meet!

Hi Kathi! Glad you found your way here. Now we have to get Jan&Jeremy to jump boards :)

Thanks Suer - I'll check my e-mail when I get home this evening. It's girls night out and then I have to stop to get my every few days sunburn at the tanning salon (might as well do it now :lol).

2 weeks until you start your road trip Maw! That's so cool. You'll be on vacation before the rest of us!

Red will play any kind just tell me your game and rules. This is set u p for Trains, but could be chicken trracks or just regular dominos. We found on Conquest and Spirit we could fill a table and always had people watching.

We are leaving on the morning of 26th for Norfolk should be there by noon on 29th if all goes well. We do not drive much past 3 or 4 but start out around 8 each day. Just a lazy slow drive down raods other than interstates.

I see on "Cruise.com" that our itenerary has changed to being at Saint Thomas last and San Juan first after stopping at the Half Moon Cay. Does anyone have excursion plans for the Phillipsburg stop? Not sure what to do there. How about San Juan?

Cruise.com seems to be listing the old itinerary. It used to do that. The Maasdam left St. Thomas at 3:00 PM. However, the ship was arriving consistantly late. So they switched the itinerary. San Juan is the northern most of the Caribbean ports and the ship leaves there two hours earlier than it left St. Thomas. After making the switch the ship has arrived on time.

Maw - I've never played chicken tracks before. I'll have to watch ya (or you can teach me :) ). My family likes to play "bones".

We are leaving after work on the 28th. I decided to break the trip in 2 and stop in Charleston WV on the way. I made reservations this evening.

I also made reservations with Lawrence tours for Antigua. If anyone's interested in this (there were a few who mentioned it), there is no deposit. Just e-mail for confirmation. Cost $25 plus $5 park entrance fee per person. After the tour he will be stopping at a beach for snorkling if interested.

Thanks Red and Suer for updating the gallery. Kelly got a big kick out of it. Her first question was... What's up with the shoes? :lol
