It looks to me like RCCL has been slow to reduce prices for cruises. Even though they are now lowering prices on some cruises, I think they may have shot themselves in the foot by taking away perks while originally keeping their prices high. Their actions caused some to look elsewhere and when they did, they found bargains. I know I priced a Carnival cruise to Alaska the same date as the one we have.....and it's considerably cheaper. I'm not going to switch, because with Rita's help, we've been getting price reductions......sure makes you think about Loyalty though.

Nancy had an LL Bean credit card that was BofA........they lowered payouts a little while ago, so LL Bean dumped them and issued Credit Cards with another bank which gave the same perks.

We just came back from the Orange County Spring Home Show. This is THE home show that draws people from all over. Boy, can you see where the economy is right now! First thing we noticed was that when we pulled into the parking lot, less then 1/4 of the usual number of cars were there. We got free admission to the show due to qualifying for that discount you get after a certain age and was I ever glad. I'd have hated to have paid for this show. There were less than half the dealers there as usual. Most were home improvement companies. There were no banks, no mortgage companies, no investment companies. There was one booth buying gold and silver jewelry though. We were in and out in barely a half hour! Usually it takes us at least 2 hours to cover everything once and we often go back to have a second look at some stuff. Oh yeah - they did have a Mercedes convertible with all the bells and whistles on display. Didn't see anyone stopping to talk to a salesman though. Whatever were they thinking?

Gorgeous day down here - temps in mid 80s with not a cloud in the sky. Time to go enjoy a drink out on the deck before I start dinner.

Happy Valentines Day(well, night now) all...............

Hope your sweeties took care of you.........we were gonna eat an early dinner since we were out........stopped by Outback at 4:30 and they already had an hour and half wait!! No thanks.......not for me.........wound up at Sonnys and that was fine.............I was gonna cook salmon and have shrimp cocktail,but we didnt make it home with enuf time............so we'll have that tomorrow............

Hey, PH - Nice to see you back. We missed you the last couple of days. Did Dennis get a truck? I hope so.
Want to hear a funny one? Well, you're going to hear anyway! You'll never believe what came in the mail today ... A $10. gift card to Harry's! Talk about bad timing. Bert's trying to figure out if there's any time coming up that we can use it, but so far no such luck.

Our dinner was great. Steaks were cooked perfectly and the lobster tail was delicious. I am sooo stuffed. Bert's now off to our neighborhood custard place to get us dessert. I think it's going to be sitting in the freezer for a while. Just too full to eat it right now.

Spring has definitely come to this area. The other day I started seeing robins and today I saw our first gator of the year in the lake. It's about a 5-6 footer. It's been swimming around all day!

Been busy cleaning today............well,mostly Dennis has been...............cleaned the tile floors for me since hes much better at it than me........hahah

Just had shrimp cocktail, salmon and salad for dinner...............fresh FL strawberries too.........

Good gracious, this is like a disease spreading. Think I'm going to start doing 1 word posts to get my numbers up so I can be one of you founding members too!

PH - Trying to figure out when we can use that gift card. I have no idea why I got it. Are you registered on their website? Only thing I can think of is that they sent it for our anniversary. Otherwise, I am clueless as to the reason. Maybe they took pity on me not being a FM around here!:)D

San - I always thought you were respectful. Weird at times, but respectful!!!:lol

Sorry......here I am............and its the only board Im posting on today...............so hard with D and I in the same room with our puters.......hes always talking and asking me stuff............I cant concentrate..............I cant wait for him to go back to work.....................

Holding out on the best deal,San...which inc price,miles,location,etc..........hes trying to hold onto as much money as he can while I say spend more so you wont have as many repairs...........thing we'll looking at an 05...............and Im partial to Freightliners since the service dept is in Ocala and they have always taken good care of us...........

Well, BB.....post on..................you need to be a FM too!

Another human ....YAY!!!!

I know what you mean about another person in the computer room. Bert drives me nuts, if he's in here the same time as I am. Plus he reads over my shoulder. Now that sends me right over the edge!

Got a loin of pork in the oven for dinner tonight and the smell is driving me crazy. It's one of my favorites, so I'm already drooling in anticipation of dinner in about an hour. Of course, the MMs will be here too.

We had pork too...............only I used boneless ribs and put them in the crockpot........I used this recipe.............really yummy

Pork Roast

1 can Chicken Broth(condensed)
1 jar(18oz) apricot preserves
1 lg onion
2 Tbsps Dijon Mustard


3 1/2-4 lb pork roast

Mix first 4 ingredients and then pour over meat.

Slow cook 10 hours.


D reads over my shoulder too,Im sure.thats why I type fast and post...........
