Well BB, I can't think of a thing to say about your training remark. Perhaps when I get to your age.....down the road......I'll understand things better.

I like Seattle....pretty city. We always enjoy our time up there. Well, now that I look at the Panda that appears to have done a face plant, I should have known that you were female.......silly me.

PQ, nice to see you on here. Glad the news is better for the newer teachers. That's got to make your job more pleasant.

Talk about forgetful.........I only agreed to the older brother comment because I was a gentleman and allowed you to look better than you are to the cute young waiter that you went all goo-goo over. It was only good for the time it takes for a one night stand:D

Morning everyone!

I sure had a lot to catch up on this morning around here. You all got very chatty after I left yesterday. And a discussion about what constitutes a husband or wife. Totally cracked me up!

AM - That's some load of courses you're taking! What's your major? I imagine it has something to do with middle eastern studies. Am I right?
Hehe but no, I am female and my husband is male ... though we still don't feel like we're married. Still feels like we're still boyfriend and girlfriend That's so sweet! If I thought back to the days of feeling like Bert is still my boy friend, I'd also have to think about all the training he'd have to go through to get him as well trained as he is today!! That takes years and years!!!!:)D The other gals on here will know what I mean. Of course San will come back with some snide remark. He's so predictable!!!!!:lolso

Morning ^_^ Well, 7 minutes to afternoon for me :p Hehe yeah, my imagine went wild after it was uh *cough* presented that I could be lesbian XD Some have wondered ...

My major is Asian Studies ^_^ The middle east thing I thought was rather odd, but some of the 'middle east' is considered part of asia, so it's also a core class for my major. I need 2 years of an Asian language for the major, so I picked Japanese. On top of Japanese I'll be taking a math class, Intercultural Communications and I'm hoping to sign up for a Psych class (Multicultural Psychology).
The Asian Studies is actually helping me a lot; I'm using it to build my education to become a TA ... and I have an internship with the biggest Agency in the state (utah) and they're putting me on the Shanghai, China project for the Worlds Fair next year BECAUSE of my Asian Studies background.

Oh and I totally know what you mean about training ... Jon is still going through a bit himself lol. He's in pre-med so he's already naturally caring and loves to take care of me, he's still getting used to taking responsibility (I'm fanatic about planning stuff ... and am the only one that can drive). Also never really been to a university, so he's adjusting to that. We're helping each other out, I'm learning not to always keep hold of the reigns ... so hey, it's working out lol.

Yeah, it is quite beautiful, we miss Chinatown and our bubble tea :(

Haha yeah, Tara Panda ... dunno how to spell it in english too well ... can do better in Japanese BUT the filter doesn't let my type japanese characters (lame). I think he's adorable! I have a big plush of him as well as a pillow lol

How dare you not notice I'm female, I mean jeeze ... isn't my black text extremely feminine? Sheesh! :)P)

Actually, hiring back the teachers, which isn't definite yet since we don't actually have the stimulus money, doesn't make it easier. They've already received their not recommended to return due to fiscal reasons letters...if they are hired back, depending on the number, they can possibly be in their spot, but not necessarily, if it was used as a replacment spot for the Media, Reading coaches, Art, Pe, that may be canceled due to other budget cuts. It's way to confusing. The difficult part, is we are only dealing with the instructional area...it still looks like non-instruct/support staff will be cut...and freezes for all district positions.

Marcia - hope they all go over to CC to celebrate...am I right in guessing this is the anniversary of the first meeting of the "minds"...your cruise with the extended CC family?

Picked blueberries today...will freeze some and bake/eat the rest...will pick again in June for the late berries.

AM spent 7 years in Olympia (when I was a teen) and still have family in Tacoma, Seattle and Portland...beautiful area...and blueberries aren't until June/July there.

Boy,you were all very busy talking yesterday.

Tony, you should know better......there are too many of us over here......you won't win!

AM, Tony is our NOT politically correct poster! You already figured out that he and BB need to be reminded to play nice.

Sounds like you have lots of plans for the future, so good for you. You didn't pick a very easy road, but I'm sure you'll be successful......just don't let those late nights get to you.

PQ - know what you mean about budget cuts. We're in the same boat here, and next week we'll be voting to increase taxes for the schools, police, fire, senior center, youth center, etc. Four separate tax overrides, which will pit one group against the other. They'll be lots of folks complaining about the taxes, but most of us have seen our taxes decrease the past two years (mostly due to the valuations of houses dropping). I wish they would have kept the taxes stable and kept the services. We'll have to see how the votes turn out. My sister is a teacher in Quincy (a small city just south of Boston), and has been teaching for over 15 years, but because she teaches gym and health, she might lose her job. She has one graduating from college, one entering college this September and a third following in September 2010, so she needs that job. Sometimes people are very short sighted. They want the services, but they don't want to pay for them. Our seniors don't want to pay for the schools, because they don't have kids in them, but who educated them and their children. The young parents don't want to pay for the senior center, but they'll be seniors some day. No one wants to pay the police officers and firefighter, until the need them! Some of our roads look like Bagdad during the bombing, but again, who wants to pay for it? I don't like paying taxes, but that's the price for living in a democracy. I do agree that there's lots of waste and corruption, and that should be stopped, but unless more than 20% vote in an election, what chance does that have?
Sorry, I'll get off my soapbox now:cool:

BB - I too remember (sometimes) how it used to be when we were first married, and I agree that it would just take too many years to retrain someone.

K2 and Marcia, nice to see you dropping by. I'll stop over to the other place and say hello.

Everyone have a wonderful day. Temps supposed to be in the 80's today. WOOHOO! It's about time!

Rita

Good afternoon and happy anniversary to some of us!

Still haven't gotten to repot my plants. We ended up going to the mall yesterday afternoon. to get my ring repaired. What a zoo! We rode around for over 15 minutes before we could find a parking space. You had to fight your way through the crowds in the mall itself. Is it almost Christmas? You would think so by the crowds. We went into the Disney store to look around. Would you believe there were 18 people in line waiting to check out! And to think we have to go back there in a couple of days to pick the ring up. If I plan this right, might get Bert to take me to Buca de Bepo for dinner. I'll have to work on this plan!!!;)

AM - Sounds like you and your husband have very level hears on your shoulders and have done a great job planning out your future. Good for you both!

Stopped by CC to leave my anniversary wishes there. Do you realize, San, we've been bickering and giving each other a hard time for 7 years now? We must really be invited!!!!:lol

BB, so what kind of ring do you have that needs to fixed at the Disney Store?

Happy Sunday all.

Nancy and I took the Corvette down south on California 1 all the way to San Simeon. That's such a great ride.....had dinner at a nice restaurant down there.....and went by Hearst Castle. Pretty time of year along the coast....no fog.....clear as a bell.

Hahahaha! That was great XD We're trying anyways ... he's going into Natropathy (can't spell) medicine ... which is more like Asian Medicine and not perscription happy. That's what he's working on. He'll be in school a lot longer than me though!

Hehe, I've noticed :p And yeah, it's fine. Kind of funny to witness actually *snicker* Thank you :) And what do you mean by not an easy road? I know Jon (hubby) chose a harder road than me with going into medicine, but I am finding it slightly more in my reach to become a TA then I thought it would be.
Late nights? Hahahahahah I'm an insomniac, I have perscription pills to make me sleep. I don't take them often cause I hate the groggyness in the morning (that never goes away) and I don't want to be dependant. So I'm up late anyways ...

Good morning and happy Monday! I hope everyone's week is off to a good start. Wish I could say the same. I was rudely awakened this morning by the guys putting in the dock 2 doors away. They started hammering and sawing at 7:00! :X I thought they weren't allowed to make noise before 8, but found out I was wrong. I still think that is too early to be making that kind of noise.

Going to be spending most of the day in the garage getting stuff ready for a garage sale this weekend. It'll be a good chance to get rid of some of Bert's junk that's filling up the garage. Maybe just maybe someday the car will see the inside of the garage.

Eugh, kind of the same thing happened to me this morning: lawnmowers x.x

Thankfully though, it is a very good monday for me! I took my final and now I'm DONE with classes and school until June 8th :) Oh yes and another good thing: My instructor read my 8page report (Cultural Tourism in Indonesia) and she said it was amazing. She loved it. I was so relieved to hear this cause I only spent 3 hours writing it :)P)

Anyways, that's my morning :) We're going to celebrate my end of the year with smoothies ^_^

Thank you very much breeze! ^_^

We celebrated by getting smooties, eating at a nummy bread place (sammiches!), then buying 2 backpacks/computer bags (used either way, will be GREAT for the cruise), and bought me a lovely sundress for the cruise ^_^ It's white/purple and strapless, but goes down to my feet. Quite pretty.

Now we're just vedging out. Can't wait to get our confirmation number today :)

I like smoothies, but I'm on a diet. Never been on a diet before....feels kind of good.

Good morning! Been busy around here too. Getting things ready for our community garage sale this weekend. Can't believe all the crap you can accumulate!

So you're on a diet, San? What's the matter ... getting a bit of a gut from all those good meals you have? Good luck with the diet!
Saw on the news last night about that accident in San Jose where so many people were killed or hurt. That's so sad.

Time for another cup of coffee ...

Not just the gut.......I was up to 535 lbs and 5' 7".......now I am down to 478 lbs and 5' 4". Making good progress.:D

That bus accident has been all over the news here....it occured about 85 miles south of San Jose in a rural area. US 101 was closed for a very long time.
