BB: Come on girl. I remember you dumped some money into that set already if I'm correct. Go to Costco or Sams and pick up a NEW
efficient TV for a couple of thousand and be done with it. You can put a huge FLAT SCREEN on a table in that area of your Bedroom and
see it from the bed just fine. I think Bert is trying not to have to MOVE that big baby TV out of there!! Hee Hee. You
could go on a short cruise with the savings. Tell Bert he can't take all those BIG BUCKS with him and to enjoy a NEW TV!! hee hee.

Went for a nice long walk around here awhile ago. Suppose to rain later..........getting tired of rain.

This is like a guy TV on steroids!::eek: I have to admit that the picture is so clear and lifelike, it almost looks like you are watch 3-D. Guess Bert's just going to have to go stare at the set at BB when he needs a "fix"!:lol
TV repair man never called back and is closed for the weekend.:X I guess we'll just have to watch TV with all the people looking like they have jaudtice!::eek:

K2 - I'm not looking for a set for the bedroom. This is for the family room. The size we would want/need would have to be delivered. it wouldn't fit in my car. Besides, I it needs to be connected to the Bose system, DISH Network and the surge suppressor. I want a new one installed the right way.

120 hz is really good if there is a lot of movement in the picture. I think that some of the videos they show on new TVs in store are designed to make TVs look their absolute best......but, they don't always translate to real life programming being as good. I don't know anything about LED TVs though.....just Plasma and LCD....but I'm sure that LED is an improvement. You watch a lot of ball games.....so, I think the pricey one is the way to go for you. 55" is a BIG TV! Just in case you were wondering what I thought:D

Awe dang it, I posted my final grades and what not for the paper and exam I took (told you guys I'd let you know) ... but it's the very last post of page 161 lol no one will see it!

Pardon me bragging but I got a 97/100 on the paper I was telling you guys about and 95/100 on my final exam.

Do I get cookies now?

Geez...the wife is always the last to know...cruising without me would be a BAD choice for Gary...

We could use some rain...temps in the 90's for the next week or so with no rain on the horizon..

Thanks for the good wishes, but it didn't work....Gary didn't get the job...I figured that may happen when I saw another position posted for a step-down position. Gary is going to apply for that...more of a minor maintenance position. But, I understand someone in the department trying to move up. We'll see what happens. He also went to job fair last week that was put together by workforce innovations. It had break-out sessions with re-training opportunities...scholarships/stimulus grants...he was interested in the IT/computer installations, etc. We'll keep looking.

Whoops, gotta run...going to a Grad party for a friend...she graduates next week from UCF.

back again,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,had a busy day making up for lack of things I didnt do for the past couple of weeks............shopping,cleaning,laundry,etc....

Sorry that gary is having such a hard time,PQ.......its a rough world out there...............wishing him better luck for the next one............hows your job going?? any cutbacks in your area???? have fun at the party........we ran into quite a few kids celebrating their graduations on the cruise........very nice kids,in fact....they were from Trenton and go to UF......

Dont know you(yet) AM,but congrats on the grades and glad you joined this "elite" ;) group..

BB-get that new TV yet??? We were using our DVR on our new TV............never realizing there is a HD DVR..duh.........so we switched the old for the new and got a HDMI cable..........it makes such a difference on the HD channels..........amazing........

Well San-its almost time for your next cruise.......doing anything special or just walking around the ports(since you know them like your own backyard)???

Sorry I missed the big anniversary Marcia...............hard to believe we have been friends so long even though at times,I feel like I know you(and a few others) for my whole liftetime.................

Rita-------did you hear about the new promotion?? If you book onboard,you only have to pay $100 pp for any length cruise.........and thats it......rest of the money is due at final payment...............and you get OBC OR balcony discount...........not bad esp if you want to book a long cruise.............

Well, waiting for Dennis to get home..................get to spend some time together before he heads out tomorrow...........only saw him a few hours yesterday.........

So, I'm thinking about doing something.

I'm majoring in Asian Studies, but I need an Asian Language (I chose Japanese) and I already have a tested memory issue. I still really want to graduate with it, but with the way our language programs are set up, I have to wait a whole year to take the class again if I fail/don't get good enough grades. This process would make me graduate in Dec. of 2010 OR May of 2011.

There is also a program at our school where you can just get a BA, not specified in anything. My advisor proposed it to me so I could piece together my own degree that is geared towards being a TA. If I did this option, I would graduate in May of 2010 (when I should, I started college back in 2005). Oh and I'd make the Asian Studies either my minor or emphesis ... and international studies would be what Asian Studies is not (either minor or emphesis)

So, what do you guys think?

Good morning! Thank goodness the weekend and that blasted garage sale is over. It was too d*mn hot sitting out there even in the shade. To give you an example, our biggest seller was cans of cold soda. Apparently no one else had any. We sold a couple of cases at a whopping 25 cents a can! Bert always bought plenty for when the kids come over. Now they're mostly all on diets or only drinking water, so they were just sitting there. At least that made a little bit of room in the garage ... for a change! Along with the other stuff we sold, it was enough to pay for my ring repair and for dinner at Buca de Beppo, so I was happy.

AM - That's a hard decision to make. Would you be able to take Japanese or another language as a post grad course? Good luck deciding which way to go.

Got a busy week ahead and it all involves our kids. The MMs are coming tonight for a Quatro de Mayo dinner of tacos. Wednesday Laurie & Ron are coming, possibly with his mother, and may stay overnight to go to one of the parks. Saturday or Sunday Missy is coming down. She has to pick Wesley up on Sunday from the airport. He's flying to Texas Friday to go to a concert with Jimmy Saturday night. All this company means I have to do a lot of cleaning to make up for not getting anything done inside over the weekend. Guess I should get started ...

Wow-you do have a busy week ahead,BB............only thing on my schedule is my new crowns tomorrow............OH BOY!!!

I imagine it was very hot having a garage sale............we are really into the high temps this week,arent we??????At least,its warming up the pool........

I do think we should have been getting on the first FR cruise outta PC today,dont you???? I bet Jetty Park will be PACKED!!!!!!!!!!

Tough choice,AM,but I say number 2.......

Funny you should mention Jetty Park and the Freedom. I told Bert last night that I wish the MMs weren't coming tonight. I would have loved to go over to PC to watch FR sail out for the first time. Bummer that we have to wait until Sept. to sail on her again.:(

With all the company this week, I really am going to need that MN trip on the 18th! By the way - Who's that Mari posting on the Fl thread that's also going on the 18th? Do we know her? Sometimes it gets confusing as to who's who over there.=huh Thanks for the info on the casino also. Bert feels better now knowing they use real money.

Just checked the PC webcam. FR looks very pretty sitting there. There's also still plenty of parking spaces available on the first level. Wish we were heading over to grab one! I wonder where MN docked today ... Maybe at the Carnival pier? I know the big Carnival ship (Glory?) uses the RCCL pier for checkin for their 7 nighters.

MN is docking at the Carnival terminal just for today............they have to shuttle the people back and forth..todays cruise is a church charter..........bet they dont sell much booze....

Mari Tar was on the Sept SS with all of us.........she and her husband Arnie live in Keystone Heights,but originally from Finland.....................

A church cruise, huh? You're right about not selling much alcohol. Casino will also be pretty empty. We were on SV one time with a very large church group. You saw them all over the ship reading their bibles and discussing its contents. Never had any trouble getting the slots we wanted to play on that cruise!:lol They definitely were NOT a party crowd!

I don't think (or remember) I met Mari on that cruise.

I thought of you when I heard about the upcoming church group............they chartered the whole ship......................gonna be real quiet............

Not sure if you met Mari..........she has also cruised with me several other times..........thats probably why I remember her................
