Sorry it's a dreary day up your way, PH. So far we've had only sun. I don't think that's going to last though. I see some dark clouds forming all around us. I bet it will be raining by the time we go out in 2 hours.

I like the new changes that Celebrity has made for Elites, BB. This could really change who I decide to take all my future cruises with.
When I boarded Infinity last year, the agent pulled us out of line a walked us right through the building to the ship. They seem to know how to treat their Elite members......I got more recognition on Infinity that I have ever gotten for D+ on RCI. I think that there's a whole lot less Elites than there are Diamond / Diamoind +s though. But, anyway, we chose CEL for the intineraries rather than for Elite benefits vs Diamond +. Looks like I might get an upgrade on CEL now.

OK, figured I better pop on here before you start talking about me!
Went to a Carnival Seminar this morning....interesting new ship coming out, looks very pretty and not like a typical Joe Farcus ship.
Got Bill and Kevin off to Florida, they'll land in Orlando in about a half hour, then have 90 minute drive to Vero. they'll be home monday night, but I'm sure it's just the first of many visits before we get everything squared away. I think we'll have to find some time later this month or early next month to get to Florida. At least they can get the cable and utilities turned off (except the a/c), get to the bank and also start cleaning out her house.
Weather has been dreary again the last couple of days, but they are promising it will improve by tomorrow. We'll see.....they haven't been right in so long, I can't remember the last time.
Tony, we were treated better on CEL Century than on RCI also. The hostess acted like we were her very best friends, we had an invitation to cocktails and dinner with the captain, and we felt we received extra special treatment. On our Constellation cruise, the reverse was true. that was the cruise where we had the mold problem in our suite, and the guest relations desk couldn't have cared less. Now, there were loads of Elite because that was a transatlantic, but there were only a handful of Elite on Century......maybe that explains the difference. I do think CEL has made a good start on the new perks, I love the free internet and laundry. Did I miss something about upgrades?
I am going with three girlfriends on Enchantment in September. We had booked a JS for the four of us (hoping to get an upgrade to the RFS). Last night I switched us to 2 D1's, as we'll have more room, and two bathrooms. On top of it all,, we saved money. I'm still hoping to convince my rep to get us an upgrade to the RFS.......we'll see what happens. Right now they have 5 available, but they'll only take a reservation for 5 guests, not 4.
Time to watch some TV an get off this computer. I've spent hours catching up on e-mails.

Good morning! Sorry I haven't been posting more lately. Just hasn't been much going on around here. With all the rain the past few days we haven't gone anywhere. What can I tell you - We lead a boring existence these days.
Bert's off to get his new hearing aids. Thank goodness! I'm tired of yelling at him and having the TV loud enough for the neighbors to hear it. Funniest thing is that he's been practically shouting when he talks and I've had to keep telling him to lower the volume ... I'm not deaf!!:lol
In between the raindrops, we went to the wine tasting last night and met up with some friends who are also from NJ. They had much better wines last time and due to the rain, had to have everything inside. It got very crowded and it was very warm in the store. We only stayed for an hour. I don't think we even drank our money's worth! Does that tell you something?
Rita - When you and Bill come to Florida, if you need some help packing things up, give us a call. We'd be glad to come down and give you a hand.
We're also thinking about giving CEL a try, but we're also looking into the new NCL ship coming out next year. That one sounds really neat.
Looks like another one of those days here in Florida - More rain! It looks like the rains will start any minute. I hope we're getting the rain over and done with early, but I doubt it. We'd like to head over to the Grill this afternoon for a while. Haven't done that in 2 weeks now thanks to company or the weather.

Busy day today, nothing exciting, just more work, work, work!
Boss is off tomorrow, so I'm back in the office by myself for the day (actually half day, as we close at 1 on Fridays). Tony, I'll put your payment in tomorrow, is that OK?
We have a dog track just outside Boston, but I can count on one hand the number of times we've been there.....seems like when we do go, we come out a few bucks ahead.
Bill got a lot done in Florida today, but more of the same tomorrow. BB, thanks for the offer of help packing. I'm sure we'll be back later this month or early next month, as our fall is pretty full. We're cruising a lot in September, October, and November, so we really want to get things squared away before we leave for London. I guess Bill's mother doesn't have a lot of space in the new place, so it's tough trying to figure out what to take with her, but he's trying to get it done. They got the mail
forwarded, the address changed at the bank, and some other stuff done, so he's making progress, albeit slowly. Says there was a lot of heavy rain today.
It's nice an quiet around here, no one is fighting me for the laptop.....he has a desktop, but all of a sudden he's in love with the laptop. At least on the desktop he's up in the loft and out of the way.
I had a chance to really look at the new CEL perks for select and elite. My take is that they are trying to lure their "loyal" customes to CEL and keep RCI for the newbies. I'll have to check and see what the "one category upgrade" means. They used to do that. What you did was pay the price for one category down, but get the room which was one category higher. However, they wouldn't allow the upgrade from outside to balcony, just one inside category to a higher, one outside category to a higher outside, no balcony to higher balcony, or highest balcony to lowest suite. If that's what they're doing, no big deal. However, the free internet and laundry and one dry cleaning item does sound pretty good. Hopefully, we would get two free bags of laundry and two items drycleaned. I hope it's not one per cabin, but one per guest.
Time to get off here and get some sleep. 7:15 comes earlier and earlier these days!
