Morning! Off to a slow start around here today. Can you believe I slept till 9:15!: That happens about once every couple of years.

I watched the Mariner show last night too. Sure do miss having her practically in our backyard. I wanted to cry hearing Capt. Johnny say his famous "GOOD MORNING, GOOD MORNING, GOOD MORNING! I thought they did a much better job on this show than on some of those in the past with Samantha. This one showed more about the ship and didn't try to sell you on shore excursions. The staff sure does have a lot of meeting during the week!

PH - When I go to BINGO here, it doesn't cost me a penny. There's no charge and all you need to do is bring a snack to share. I certainly wouldn't want to have to pay for BINGO to win a lousy Berger King gift card! Speaking of BINGO, guess where I'm going tonight?

Rita & San - Knock off the "I'm her favorite" crap! Just remember, I'm the one who will see her tomorrow!:lol

back from town................dropped Holly off then went to Publix..............got a Cuban SANDWICH for lunch and picked up some wine..............dont have any in the house and tomorrow the inlaws will stop by to let the dogs out...............and they always open some wine when they are here..........bought them the cheap stuff and us a good bottle...........HEY~~ dont think bad of me.......they drink the cheap stuff at home.......always buying those 1.5 Liters that cost $10.......haha

think I'll go clean the house some.............dont want them to think Im a slob..........

So what's wrong with 1.5 liter bottles that cost $10 or less? My favorite is Concha y Toro. ABC had it right now for under $8. That's even better than Sam's price. Up in NC J&J have a friend who for years was a wine consultant and a total wine snob. His wine cellar consisted of at least 2,000 bottles of wine. We were talking a while back and he told me that Concha y Toro was one of the best mass marketed CHEAP wines out there. It's way better than Two Buck Chuck.
Oh and by the way, ABC also has Rex Goliath Merlot and Cab on sale for 2/$10. That's the one with the picture of the 47 lb. rooster on the label.

Rita - Forgot to tell you that at the wine tasting we went to the other night, I never heard anyone mention or ask for anything BUTTERY!D Sorry PH & San - That was an inside joke.

Hi there.

I was going to post this morning, but I got interupted. Then I had to go to the tire store to get a tire fixed. Turns out that they couldn't fix it because the nail was in the side wall,,,,,,,so, new tires next Wednesday. [$817]

Wednesday would be better, Rita, but if you need to do it earlier, go ahead.

Whatever wine tastes good to me is what I buy. Some cheap wines taste better to me than some of the much more expensive wines. But, then there are some expensive wines that taste really, really good.

Time for one last post tonight as I get ready to shut this puppy down for the night. We're off to Daytona tomorrow bright and early, so I doubt I'll get a chance to stop by here. Looks like you're going to be on your own tomorrow, San, unless Rita takes pity on you.

No, only two new tires. The tire dealer told me that GM recommends replacing all four tires at the same time on a car with All Wheel Drive.....said it was in the owner's manual. Being the trusting soul that I am.....when I got home, I read the manual......guess what.....it doesn't say to replace all four. So, I called the Service Manager at the dealership, he said that I didn't need to change four, maybe two on the same axle if I'm a little nervous. So, I am only going to replace two. Tire dealer didn't want to believe me, so I told him to call the service manager.....he did, and called me back and said.......after a little BS to save face......that two would be OK. Nice of him!!!!!!

Marcia is still in the hospital......been there since Wednesday. Doing all kinds of tests to see what else is wrong beside the pleurisy.....tests come back next week.

Been crazy around here. Bill and Kevin are cleaning out the house in Vero. This morning I got a call around 11 from the Indian River Memorial Hospital.....looking for Bill. It seems Bill's mother fell at the nursing home last night and broke her hip. The nursing home said they tried to reach us, but they dialed the wrong area code. HUH?????? They have the right phone number, as the owner of the place called and talked to Bill on Tuesday. To make a long story short, she had surgery this afternoon, will be hospitalized for a week or so, then sent to rehab for 4-6 weeks. At that point they'll re-evaluate the situation and see where the best place is for her. Apparently the place they sent her to on tuesday is not the best place for her......she didn't like it, kept complaining there were bugs in her room! She wanted to stay at the place she is going to rehab, so maybe we can keep her there permanently.
What a mess! I do think he and I will have to make a trip down soon to finish up cleaning out the house. It is on the market, but we still have to get some personal things out of there.

Marcia has been hospitalized for a couple of days with pleurisy and who knows what else. They are doing tests on her to see what's wrong, but apparently she is in tough shape. I guess she's a little better today.....a good sign.

I spent most of the day cleaning out stuff. I'm able to get so much more done when I'm home alone

and poor Marcia.........she is always so worried about Carl,so probably didnt take care of herself when she had symptoms.........I think so much of the two of them........I wish her well..........................

Poor Marcia! I've had pleurisy and it's no fun. It felt like someone was twisting a knife in my back every time I took a breath. I do hope Marcia feels better soon. She and Cary are some of our favorite people (outside of you all!)

Not much going on around here today. Hopefully, the shuttle will be able to get off the ground this evening. If so, we'll watch the launch from the Grill! I know, I know ... Any excuse to go have a drink!!:lol Just hope we don't get anymore of that terrible weather from yesterday.

thanks for the good thoughts. I'm sure right now if just seems overwhelming, but I know it will pass.

I hope the shuttle does get off tonight. Kevin has never seen a launch, so it would be great if he was able to see it . I understand it's supposed to go off after 11 tonight, right?

Still cleaning out stuff from the spare bedroom linen closet. I have so many sample sizes of everything, I don't have to buy shampoo, conditioner, deodorant, toothpaste, bandaids, aspirin, antibiotic ointment, hand cream......you get the picture. Too bad I never think to look in that box before we go away

Time to get back to work. I'll try to stop by later, as I know you are all just waiting with bated breath to hear about my very exciting day

Rita - Last I heard, the shuttle is due to liftoff shortly after 7:30. If I hear otherwise, I'll let you know.

I just love all those little sample bottles of stuff. I stick them in the guest bathrooms and tell everyone not to forget to tip the maid on their way out! Tips haven't been so great, so to save money, guests no longer get chocolates on their pillows. LOL

I also put the mini bottles of toiletries in the guest bathroom...............I keep the most of the lotion for myself cuz I really like it............

Well no shuttle launch today. The weather that caused them to cancel came through this area around 4. By the time the rains ended, it was time for dinner. Now I'm just waiting for IRT to come on.
