Good morning! Up bright and early today as landscapers are supposed to come to do some landscaping behind our screen enclosure. Unfortunately, they haven't shown up yet! I wasted good sleeping time for nothing.
Not much else going on here today. I'm making corned beef & cabbage for dinner. And, no, before you ask, I don't think it's St. Patrick's Day. LOL
Gordon - Glad the knee is feeling a bit better. Best way to rest it is to spend a weekend watching football.
PH - Read online this morning about all the new places opening around the Square. The new wine & cheese shop looks interesting. Might have to make a return trip up that way one of these days to check it all out.

Got my bill for the xray on my knee............insurance didnt cover it(sucky ins) but it was only $33.25..............didnt know anything medical came that cheap!

PH - The article talked about a number of new places opening. One was a chocolate shop. YUMMY!!! Looks like the wine and cheese place will be having weekly tastings. Unfortunately, they're doing them on a Tuesday. Also a new art gallery is opening. Where the Dairy Queen was on Pine, there's going to be a cafe there. We noticed how many buildings have been torn down in the area. All those years we lived there, nothing got done. Now we're gone for 4 years and BOOM! Things are changing all over the place!

I do like the Cuvee Noir Reserve which is a dry red wine very similar to a merlot. It's $8.95 a bottle. I also like to get the San Sabastian port and sherry at Lakeridge. Both are dessert wines and cost just under $20. a bottle. Can you tell that I've bought these before?

We've got the Orange County home show this weekend at the convention center. It's a sellout for the dealers. That hasn't happened in a couple of years. Hopefully, it's a sign that the economy is turning around and people are starting to spend money again. I think we're getting complimentary tickets from a neighbor who is a dealer and we'll go on Friday.

Went to Publix....got a cuban and now they charge 50 cents to press it(any sandwich that gets heated,,pressed or grilled)........is that ridiculous or what????? heck,I didnt bother to get a freshly made one........got it outta the case............

well, finally, I can say hello! Finally got the pw and sign on straightened out.
Jewel TA was great. Food has improved, service was great, entertainment just mediocre. Same old production shows, but the guest entertainers were fair at best. Weather was pretty good and ports were fabulous. Iceland was amazing, I would go back in a heartbeat. Belfast also was an interesting place. Honfleur was so pretty, and Cherbourg was charming. Prices were very high in all the places,so we didn't buy much. Only thing I wanted the Waterford store didn't have
London was wonderful as usual, we had great weather, went to the Tate Modern and saw Jersey Boys. Wanted to see Wicked, but matinee was Wednesday, and we got on ship on Wednesday. Liked the City Inn very much, but the rooms were very short on storage, so we lived out of our suitcases. There were two small drawers in a desk, and a small closet, no other storage space.
BB, saw you got an upgrade to a GS? What ship and sail date? Good for you. I'm still waiting to see what happens on next week's EN cruise. My RCI Business Manager always put me in for an upgrade, but I won't know until a week or 5 days prior to the cruise, and of course, the cruise is on today's special sale, so probably the GS and OS will go. We have a JS, but would love a upgrade, but she is so good to me, I have no complaints at all. Got a special surprise from her today:clap:
Time to get some dinner before Bill has to go bowling. Yippee, a whole couple of hours of me time (just finishing up laundry and trying to get the house back in order.....really great ME time, huh). BTW, where is our CAL buddy?

Hi Rita! Welcome back from that wonderful cruise. I was eating my heart out the entire time you were gone.
We're doing EN 9/28. That's right after you, isn't it? Why not stay on and join Bert and I? That would be too cool!!! Our cruise is on sale too this week.
So what did you think of Jersey Boys? I'd see that again in a heartbeat. Always loved the Four Seasons. A lot of the places they mentioned were in my old stomping grounds. I've got a CD of the show and love to listen to it. The one thing that surprised me was how Joe Pesci was involved with them. I never knew that.
What were you looking to buy at Waterford?
I don't think our California friend likes us anymore.
We tried to coax him back, but no dice. We're so upset, but he doesn't seem to care about us any longer. Anyone got a tissue?

Hey BB, did you get an upgrade on your EN cruise? I thought they wouldn't upgrade on short cruises......you're going for 5 days, so will they upgrade on those, but not on 3 or 4? I'm confused
I really enjoyed Jersey Boys...brought back memories hearing the old songs.
A friend asked me to pick up some glasses at Waterford for her son and DIL, but they said they were "too new" so they didn't have them in stock? Found it hard to believe, but at least I didn't have to carry them home.
Too bad about our friend, it's a shame.

Rita - Our cruise is a 5 nighter. There were still 9 JS and 1 GS left yesterday, so I gave them a call. First D+ rep said she couldn't do any upgrades yet as those cabins hadn't been released yet. BS!!! Called back 2 hours later and got a real sweetheart. When I told her we had never been upgraded before, she skipped over the JS and went for the GS. Worked for us!!! By the way, her name was Kathy!!! And they do not upgrade on 3 & 4 nighters unless you have a LOT more cruise credits. Do you know how many are needed, PH?
