Morning, PH, and anyone else who stops by today. I can't believe I slept until 9:30 and Bert just got up. I think those 1-2 AM nights caught up with us! By last night, I couldn't even keep my eyes open.

Pizza was good last night, but I was so ready for the gang to go home. Ethan is a screamer and no matter what you try, he won't stop it. After a while it just goes right through you.

Not much going on here today either. I hope your allergies feel better, PH. Don't ya just hate when they act up? Believe it or not allergies bothered me 2 days on the cruise too. What a pain!

Sorry you suffered too,BB.........its the pits, isnt it??

Looked at Canada/NE but thats aint cheap!

Just trying to find something different.................

Cooking a turkey breast, stuffing, mashed tators, and some veggie for late lunch.........smelling yummy............

Happy window shopping for cruises. You save a lot of money that way!!! I haven't been doing any looking lately. I'm thinking about the Carnival Dream or NCL Epic. Notice I said THINKING. I would like a short Monarch getaway in the meantime though.

So what time is dinner? sounds yummy!!!

Staff Captain
Having Sunday dinner about 2..........just like we used to do when I was little.

Only cruise we do have booked is the GR in Jan.........did ya see where the MN Thanksgiving weekend one went up $100 PP........not such a great deal anymore.:duh:

Breeze

Queen Gator
I saw that increase in price. The 4 day one when you are actually on the ship for Thanksgiving is still available for $199 outside on deck 2. I notice they no longer list deck 8 on a lot of cruises on MN. I wonder why??? Might be saving them for the guarantees that you can't book online anyway. Who knows???

Think we're going to head for the Grill for a pitcher of beer. Need to fortify as we're invited to K&G's for tacos later. They have a Reese's peanut butter cup cheesecake that they need more help eating. Had some last night here, but made them take it home. Now we have to help eat it over there.

By the way -When does San get home? Should be within the next couple of days, shouldn't it?

BB, I believe San got off the ship yesterday, but I could be wrong. I think the EPic is UGLY!

We'll be in Florida for Thanksgiving, don't know for how long before or after, but I'll let you know as soon as I do.

Got a call from Judy Potter Nock last night.....felt so sad talking to her. She said she is doing pretty well, but she sounds so sad. Paul's cousin is here for a couple of days, has to go home to take care of stuff, then she'll be back. I didn't ask Judy if someone will be with her.....I was just so shocked by her phone call, I didn't quite what to say. I'm hoping we get a chance to take her to dinner the next time we are in the Orlando area, probably sometime next summer.

PH, how was your turkey? We're having chicken in a bit, seems we eat a lot of chicken these days.

We had Kevin's kids here overnight while the parents went to a wedding.
I got up at 9 and they were downstairs watching TV.....I never heard them, that's the kind of kids I like!

Everyone have a wonderful evening....enjoy the Grille.....try to enjoy the tacos.

Morning! Repair guy show up yet, PH? He's only got a few more minutes left in the window.

Rita - I agree that the Epic is ugly. I just like some of the stuff they will have on that ship.
By the way, I meant to ask you, aside from not hearing the bells and whistles going off in the casino, was it very crowded? There was hardly anyone in the casino each time we stopped by there. I could understand why - The slots ate your money so quickly. Even the tables were empty. Bert asked where the $5 blackjack table was and was told they start blackjack at $10. Of course, most of the time there was no one at that table. The cheapest table game they had was 3 card poker and that was $6 min. Bert asked where he had to buy the $6 chips and they told him they don't have any. HUH? Then why charge $6 a hand. He didn't spend a dime in the casino. First time ever for that to happen on a RC ship! I only lost $20, so you can see I didn't spend much time there either. Heck, even video poker didn't pay off!

Janet - I forgot to wish you a belated happy anniversary the other day. You're a bit up on us too. We'll be 44 years come next March. Wasn't that chicken fruit salad at Bahama Breeze great? That is my new favorite there. Can't wait to have it again, if an when PH gets her butt down here. Hint, Hint!!!:boogie:

Guess I should see about making something for lunch.

PH8

Staff Captain
Yea, guy got here about 20 mins ago...............simple fix,but hes just making sure the dryer is ok,before he leaves.........simple fix=$60(service call fee).......

Hope to get my butt and the rest of me down there soon...........trust me......

Dennis hit a freaking deer this morning on his way to J-ville.......so he wont be able to go to the port(==more money)...he has to come home as soon as he is unloaded and try to repair some of the damage..............will it ever end??????? I almost just want to give up..............:bbat::bbat:

Hello to everyone. I didn't come on here this week end at all. We stayed really busy doing things around here, but, we also needed a few things for the Monarch cruise. At least with the three day cruises you can get out light on purchases before you go.

Kathy, question for you. I know it has been answered before, but, I guess I am lazy today and didn't feel like looking for the answer. I believe the (Las Vegas style ) production show will be on Sat. night while we are docked in the Bahamas, am I correct ? Also, is the water taxi and cab the same price to go over to Atlantis. That is probably what we will do sometime that day. Our son-in-law is concerned we might miss the ship if we go over after early dinner on the ship. I think we would be fine, but, we go with the crowd! Thank you for your help.

Hope everyone is having a nice day---no cool weather here today for sure! When another nice cool day comes into Florida, you all in Ocala let it keep coming our way! Send it on down--but, keep the cold when it comes your way

.
Thanks for the congrats on the anniversary. We really are blessed! We have had lots of great times and cruises together. The salads at Bahama Breeze were great. I had read your comments about the chicken, fruit salad and gave it a try. Thank you for recommending it Breeze! Everyone take care and have a great day.

Sorry Janet........its been a long time since I went to any of the shows,so really dont know............but I do know the water taxi and land taxi are the same price........and you have till almost midnight to get back to the sip,so you'll be fine...........

Im so tired from getting up and ready early............I need a nap.......think I'll go lay on the couch and watch some shows and may catch 40 winks.....

His Lordship

We got home Saturday afternoon. Had a wonderful two weeks on SR.....food and shows were pretty good this time. Found out though, that they have no real crab aboard.....everything with "crab" was imitation! Tried Portofino for the first time.....The lobster on the skewer was just half a shell......but the meal was good. Concierge was not the best we've had, actually, he was the worst. Hardly went to the overflow lounge for drinks....there was a lot of thirsty people up there that were demanding and pushy. Poked my head into the Diamond event.....not very many people in there in the evenings....and no food at all.

Thanks for the flowers, Rita.....they lasted the entire cruise. There was also a $100 "GAP" credit on our sea pass account......was that from you?

Glad that you had no serious damage that could have ruined your cruise on EN, BB.

I feel for the deer.

The news on Paul was a real shock to me.

Welcome back San.....sounds like you had a great time.......we are seriously considering going back to Alaska,,,,,,,maybe next year.......
No fun when the concierge is so crowded.........not even worth going to.........hey--when you get a chance, please post on the thread for Paul...its Judys online guest book.........there is a link below--thanks!

Hey PH, $60 wasn't too bad to fix the dryer. Last time our dryer got fixed the bill was $120,, and he only had to take something out of the vent that had fallen in there. Sorry to hear about the accident with the truck. It seems to be never ending.

Tony, glad you had a wonderful time, sorry the CL wasn't wonderful, but glad the food was better. I went to the Diamond event with my friends last week on EN, and no food except for the mix they put out in the Schooner Bar. CL was HOT, and only my roomate could go with me, so we skipped that and went to the Champagne Bar for the diamond event. We had some entertainment there (another story) that kept us laughing!

BB, the casino was never crowded and the tables were pretty empty. They did have some $1 blackjack tables during the day, but they raised the prices at night, and not many seats were occupied. We played roulette with the match coupons and used the winnings to continue playing roulette. I won $35 on the first spin and should have quit then, but of course I didn't, but I did quit with about $20 of their money. Only time on the cruise I came out with any of their money! Slots are getting so tight on the ships, I am spending less time in the casinos onboard and going to the casinos in port. Can't wait to go to the Atlantis casino when we are on the Jewel. Speaking of which, the water taxi let us out quite a walk from the Atlantis, whereas the cab dropped us off at the door. I'll be taking the land taxi, because the walk was very long (and hot).

Time to think about dinner.

Rita

whenever I see the water taxis,I think of capsized ferries from foreign countries that you read about in the paper..........I agree.land taxi all the way..........

Rita----I have a home warranty and for appliances covered,it only costs me $60 for any repairs.............I keep it mostly for the a/c unit..........hope it does one day and they have to replace it.....

Remember, free drinks at Atlantis if you're gambling.whether it be the penny slots or the tables!!

I remember taking that water taxi a few years ago, just to do something different. Never again! Just about died with the heat walking to Atlantis from where they dropped you off. Add to that what the taxi looked like ... We know what thrid world countries look like.

Yeah, my brother on the west coast SOMETIMES steers me right. Once in a while he does get to be a pain, but not as much as in the past. He's mellowing as he gets older!

Hi San! Glad you had a great trip and didn't get run into by any other ships! I hate that imitation crab, or KRAB as they sometimes call it. I know they use it a lot in sushi here.

Rita - Another thing I forgot to ask you about ... How was the food at the platinum/diamond event? Ours had some of the best tasting and visually appealing spread that I've seen on RC yet. The fruit tarts and fruit cups were so fresh. Bert loved the little pancakes that you could put different toppings on. Everyone we were with was very impressed with this brunch. Lots of people were there too. Entire VC was filled!

Better think about getting a move on. Bert's getting ready to pressure clean our lanai and then needs to paint the floor tomorrow, if it doesn't rain. I need to go supervise and make sure he stays on task!:bbat: LOL
