I think my weight gain is more alcohol than food.........I dont drink every day at home, like I do on a ship.............and I certainly dont drink for most of the day like onboard(pool drinks for example)Ok,Im a cruise lush!!:boogie:

You crack me up Kathy---I can't blame alcohal cause I don't drink. Sooooo, it is food no doubt. By the way, I was just over reading about the hotels near Weeki Wachee. Our daughter and son in law stayed in the Holiday Inn Exp. about 1 1/2 years ago and it was nice. A little more than others, but, it is also newer. They are very particular about where they stay, so, unless it has changed---it is nice.

I know there are 2 HIexpresses nearby.one Brooksville......one Spring Hill.........you think there are most restaurants near the Spring Hill one than the Brooksville one?? if you have any input on the area, please let them know...........

The Holiday Inn Express I was talking about is on hwy50. Then continue west to Weeki Wachee and go south on Hwy19 and you will find Outback, Red Lobster Chilis Hooters etc. Many restaurants are on Hwy 19 south. There is nothing on hwy 19 north unless it has changed recently.

It looks as though the ones talking about hotels are going to stay at the HI that I was talking about, so, I did not add to the thread. I don't know about the HI on Hwy 19, I just know the one on Hwy 50 is fairly new. Well, time to watch some TV if there is anything on. Nite to all.

The HIExpress in Spring Hill is right across the street from the Hooters you mentioned.......

Good morning! Time for a quick post. Laurie, Ron & Addie are coming down for the day. Before they get here, we have to put all the furniture and plants back on the lanai. You know how much we have out there, PH. It's going to be a job. Plus washing off all the stuff that goes on the bakers rack with the plants. Just thinking about it is making me tired!

So until things quiet down around here, bye ...

Hi all... still feeling the effects of my cruise...I will be rocking & rolling for a few more days...

Cruise was good..our diamond event was a joke..it was in the area near the champage bar..none of the staff was even around to say hello or anything.. I only went one night.. our Plat/diamond & + party was nice like BB's... I believe the cruise director spoke for about 2-3 minutes and that was about it...I did ask for & get 2 yellow birds..

Went to San Francisco beach & it was fantastic!!! We had the pool to ourselves the whole time.. the girls bought the arm bands at paradise for $10 ea. and said they were pretty much a waste of money.. Paradise beach tried to tell us SF was going to charge us $10 each for a chair & umbrella..they didn't...we ate & drank all day & our total bill was only $62...and they didn't charge a conveince fee to use my credit card.. Barb got her hair braided & I got a tat...

Loved staying in the Holiday Inn Express again... we had 2 rooms each with 2 queen beds, mini fridge & micro wave..nice breakfast in the morning & the pool area was lovely.. we weren't going to leave the car even though it was $5 per day cheaper than the port because we'd have to take a cab back from the pier...the manager told us Friday nite it would be no problem ...they would come get us on Thurs..he gave me his card to call.. we were off the ship by 9..the shuttle was there by 9:15 and by 10 we had the luggage carrier re-loaded & were headed home.. made in by 3:30...but that is still a loooonng trip to drive...

BB, congrats on the new addition...

Welcome home San!

And Happy Belated Anniversary to Janet!

Congrats BB and Bert on #7:clap::clap::clap::dance::clap::dance:

First chance I've had to jump on here today, been very busy. Not too much is new around here, same old, same old. Just work, work, work.

Fall showed up today, crisp, cool and sunny.

Oh, something new is happening. I purchased a home policy for the Vero house, so if anything happens, we are supposedly covered. I have 30 days to turn the policy down. If I need something fixed, the service call is $60, but supposedly they will repair or replace, if necessary. PH, I know you have a policy, I guess it must be OK. Do you have any trouble getting service? They said they have a service # open 24 x7. Since we've renters coming in for a year on oct. 15th, I wanted no surprises or awful expenses. I'm most concerned abou the central a/c, but every appliance is covered, except the microwave (it's not built in, if it was, it would be covered). I hope I did the right thing. House is 25 years old, so I'm thinking the water heater might need to be replaced one of these days, and the a/c, well, who knows? I usually never buy extended warranties on things, but this might give me some peace of mind.

Time to go watch Jeopardy......I lead such an exciting life, I can hardly stand it.

Good going, PH. You caught on right away. I'm thinking March will be a good month to stay hope. Boy, were we ever surprised!!!!

KC - Welcome home, girl friend. Interesting take on D events and P/D/D+ party. They seem to change things with each cruise.

Just got back from the Grill. Gotta celebrate, ya know! Now it's time to find something on TV and to chill for the rest of the evening.

Rita----did you sign up with AHS?? thats who we have and have had since we moved into this house in 2000...........I renew it every year cuz it has saved us some BIG repair bills...............never a real long wait either..........I can submit a request right online........this past one, they called me within an hour of me placing the request.....that was Sat and the guy came on Monday..........the most I ever had to wait was maybe 3 days??

I bet you were celebrating big time BB.........nice surprise...........

PH, that's who I signed up with. Our next door neighbor recommended them, and now you say you're happy with the service, so I guess I can relax a bit. Thanks.

SF beach is quite nice. It's right next to Paradise Beach, and they don't charge for the chairs or umbrellas, as long as you spend $10 pp in food and drink. No problem. They have waiters who will bring your orders right to your beach chair. If you want to use the toys at Paradise Beach you just walk over and get a wristband $10 pp, but we wouldn't be using any of the toys, so we just stayed at SF Beach. Restrooms were clean, they had outside showers so you could get the salt off, and they also had a freshwater pool that you could use. We've been to Playa Mia....I think that was about $19 to get in....and we had been at Paradise Beach previously, but decided to use SF Beach. I'm glad KC and her group were happy with it. It's hard to recommend something, because everyone likes different things, but I thought SF beach was definitely a great place to go. Sand was pretty nice and water was good, a little murky and a bit of seaweed, but we didn't bring our beach shoes and we were fine. We got there pretty early.....around 10:45, and four chairs right in the front row, about 6 steps from the water. Funny, but KC's group's bill was $62, same as ours. We had soft drinks, water, one had a pina colada, then the four of us had lunch, again soft drinks.....2 orders of chicken fingers and french fries, one fish sandwich and one fish dinner....and the total bill for the day was $62. I wonder if that's the standard rate for the Americans!

Good morning! Another sweltering day headed for the Sunshine State. Anyone north of Florida, please send us some cooler weather. 95 degrees a third of the way through October is ridiculous!

Got some running to do today, so I should get going. I'm off to find a bakers type of wine rack. I can order what I want online, but thought we'd check some of the local stores before doing that. I love a good quest!!!
