Every one gets to pay Capital gains if they go beyond the $500 K exemption K2. The title comapany sends a form[1099, I think] to the IRS telling them what you received for your house....hard to play dumb.

Good Evening...quick post. It's been pretty busy at work...still a hiring freeze, but we have some schools rezoning, so movement of teachers. Plus, units are being cut, so there's a whole lot of shaking going on downtown. Keeps me busy and on my toes.

Glad to see everyone's been playing nice.
K2 - looks like you will have some great weather next week.
PH - Glad you got my email - I'll be watching for the next ABC wine tasting.
San - I remember when Prop 13 passed...good explaination on capital gains.

[size=medium] PQ: I hope it's nice and warm but not too humid. PH told me to make sure to bring our plastic Ponchos because it might rain. I went and bought them for all of us at the Dollar Store. The adults came 2 in a pkg so I save 2 bucks on that deal. I bought the kids "Yellow" ones. That way we can find them easier!! Hee Hee. Hopefully, we won't have to wear them. I know last time we were at Disney and it rained we put those things on and almost died from the heat that gets trapped under them!! ::eek:

Hope you get your taxes done SAN and take Nancy out for lunch and drinks afterward. Just so you can unwind!! :)-D[/size]

OK, taxes are a real pain in the butt! I'm pretty much done with federal...now have to do the state. Owe $8K so far.

I can't remember when Prop 13 started Christine. Now we have prop 60 which lets you transfer the tax rate if you're over 55.

Just talked to Hugh....sounds like he's doing OK....he has gone back to work this week. Said he spent the day arranging for the service for Nadine next Wednesday.

I think I am going to be changing the 2009 TA to an Ultimate Alaska cruise. Looks like J&A will have a little one by then and are really concerned about flying over with a little baby.

I remember trying to wear one of those ponchos at Epcot.....it got really humid inside to the point where the rain was more comfortable than wearing one Kathie.

Good Morning all,

Getting ready to head out..... Krohn Conservatory (spring flower display) and then to the Montgomery Inn Boathouse for lunch..... Bus group from the Wellness Center....... Did you know that Bob Hope used to have the Montgomery Inn Ribs shipped to California several times a year. He did so love their ribs. Ah lunch......... mmmmmmmmmmmmm........:thumb

San, glad that Hugh is doing so well..... It is strange when certain "memories" come back. Yesterday I took Carl to the florist to pick up a small flower bouquet to take to the cemetery. It was 65 years ago that he married his first wife, and he wanted to do something....... I'm just glad that it was a beautiful day here......

San, is that a for sure on the little one now...... There goes the group cruise again...... But family does come first.....

K-2, good luck finding the yellow poncho you got the kids.... You do know, if it rains, there will be 10,000 kids with yellow poncho's......

PH - I just got my email from ABC (can't open emails from work)...As far as I know we be going.

I agree with Marcia....1000 yellow ponchos all running around. I used to buy clear ones, so I could find Tracy.

The ponchos would be so steamy inside (think August), it was almost better to get wet and let the sun dry you.

SAN: If you have to pay 8K in taxes so far..........I don't feel too sorry for you at all. Just imagine how much you must have stashed away! ::eek: Better take that Ultimate Alaska trip buddy. Once those kids of yours start having BABIES your pockets are going to start emptying out real quick. GRANDMA's have been know to over buy and over spoil Grandkids!! Hee Hee.

No PH, just in the planning stages.....I still don't know how that works....our kids juat showed up one day.

I'm here PH, got on and then remembered something I needed to do in the kitchen, so left the puter on......

I do know those poncho can get awful hot, but just for a brief shower...... Oh well, I got a new Gear Jacket on Serenade, light weight, lots of zipper pockets and sheds water wonderful.... In Alaska, I put on a long sleeve top, a sweatshirt and then the light jacket and walked around in the rain fine..... Got back on board ship, hung it on the back of the chair and in 5 minutes it was completely dry..... I even took it yesterday, but did not use it.

So, today K2 becomes one of the most hated commodities in Florida....a tourist! I bet she's wearing knee high black socks, high top sneakers, Bermuda shorts and a wife beater......oh yea, and a wife beater!

I've been waterproof my whole life Marcia.....I drip dry wrinkle free every time I'm out in the rain.

I have several books on storks PH........everything I ever needed to know in them.
