[large]Good Afternoon to you all. Not doing much of anything here today. It's darn right COLD here. 58 this morning and not much better right now.
I have a feeling I'm going to FREEZE at this wedding on Sat. Good thing it's inside our church.

SAN: Hope your back is better.

PH: Start packing and avoid the last minute stress you go through every time. Make lists and check things off and don't think twice about it.

PQ: Do you work through the Summer at your job?? I don't remember what you've told us??

Later all........need to find a sweat shirt to put on.[/large]

Tickets haven't arrived yet PH....we'll see.

I think PQ said she works year round K2.......she doesn't have the same schedule as the teachers.

I don't think PH gets stressed packing the night before....I know that I don't.....doesn't take that much time really.

We went to Shell's for dinner...my first time there...had one of the Early Bird specials and Happy Hour wine...yummy.

San's right, I work all year around. Just found out that my main boss, Philip, who I like very much, is being sent to one of the elementary schools as principal for 2008-09 school year (starts July 1st). Part of the cost saving moves...he was an elementary principal previously. They will allow our second in charge (Debbie) to manage the department and not replace the supervisor. Real bummer...the good part is that I get along with Debbie really well and like her...Just will miss Philip., who happens to live in our subdivsion.

I don't have enough cruises under my belt...I still stress about packing...this time will probably be worse...We have to fly and haven't flown in 8 years...and haven't flown to a port for a cruise since our 1st cruise in 1998.

Lazy day here also...supposed to be in the 90's...but we have a pretty good wind blowing. Went into town, as Gary needed new tennis shoes (do the still call them tennis shoes =huh) and docksiders for the cruise. Then, bought a graduation gift for one of my nieces and just walked around the mall. Early, we took Lucy to the vet...no, that's not a typo for Lucky...turns out she's a Lucy. :)D Guess we were wrong. She's been sleeping all afternoon, after receiving her first series of shots. She's very healthy and no worms that they could see, but opted to have them give her the de-worm medicine as a precaution.

Gary's getting ready to grill steaks for dinner...baked potato, sauteed mushrooms and salad...and of course, a little red wine. Have a good evening...doing my part in keeping the thread alive.

Geez.........I feel like a BIG Burden has been put upon me. Keeping this Thread alive ALL BY MYSELF!! YIKES......I'll do my best guys!!

PQ: Only other thing you could call "tennis shoes" is Sneakers?? Not sure which one dates you more??=huh I really think Tennis Shoes is still okay!!

Happy Mothers Day to Everyone!!

[large]:wave Happy Mother's Day All!!

Hope you all have a wonderful day. How nice for PH and BB to be starting their cruise on Mother's Day.
Hopefully, the ship will pass out somekind of "Special Gift or Drink" for all the Mom's onboard.

It's dreary, gloomy and about to rain any second here in Michigan. A good day to stay inside and read a book.

Later all.............

SAN: You best do your share to keep this thread up to date until you leave for your cruise. :girly[/large]

Happy mom's day to all.

I'll do my part to keep this thread alive K2.....but there needs to be some fooling around to keep me here:D

You're on your own when it comes to FOOLING AROUND on here.

SAN: Hope your cruise is a smooth one. Looks a little windy and WET in the Pacific NWest today. Hopefully, it will get better, but you've been on this cruise so many times it won't matter. Just getting away is what it's all about.

Later........Gotta move around to keep warm. The furnance is coming on and off on it's OWN!! ::eek: Horrible to have to have your heat on in the middle of MAY!!

Good morning.

Yea, I don't care about the weather.....it makes a nice change for us. It's supposed to be well into the 90s here beginning on Thursday......glad that we're missing it.

Never mind the fooling around......Bill's doing a pretty good job on the other thread....he's going to need a little encouragement....but so far, I'm impressed.

Is Art doing OK?

I know you like the cooler weather. That's a good thing.

Art's doing fine. He goes for a "Re-Toe Surgery" tomorrow. They called to tell us the time and it's not
until 5:00 p.m. YIKES.......poor guy can't eat/drink anything after Midnite. Even though it's that late they
said just in case they get a cancellation is why they don't want him eating. He can SWISH WATER in his
mouth. Whoppee! I told them if that was me I'd postpone and reschedule the surgery. Hope they find that
"Stitch" or whatever it is that keeps making his toe get a cyst and burst open every 3-4 weeks. Always something.

Hope PH and BB are having fun on their cruise. Dennis is the one that can really use the rest. All that driving has
to wear you out after awhile.

PQ: Hope your week is a good one kiddo.

K2 - Hope Art's surgery goes well today...rather him not eating all day than me! That's just crazy. Hopefully, after all that time, the surgery doesn't get cancelled.

Beautiful weather here, but horrible wildfires (arson set ::eek:) on the coast. Hope Ruttie is safe and her surgery went well.

San - Just in case I don't get a chance to get back on here...."Bon Voyage" and have a great trip....with or without docs ;)

Well, need to get ready for work... have a nice Tuesday everyone!

PQ: Hard to believe there are SO MANY WACKO's out in the world that have nothing better to do than set a fire. Hope it doesn't burn up anyones home.

I'll have to remember to send Ruttie a card. That lady just doesn't seem to have any luck with her health situation lately. Feel bad. I just wish she'd SLOW DOWN a little and let herself heal after the surgeries. But easy for me to say. I might be just as active if I were in her situation.

SAN: Sure hope you are getting the last of the packing done today. Wishing you and Nancy a safe and relaxing cruise. Hope the WATERS are good to you and stay calm. :wave

Later..........I actually see some SUN outside!! (tu)

Thanks PQ......it should be a great trip....we're looking forward to it.

So K2, why does Art have to fast if they are just working on his toe?

There's 2 thoughts on the FASTING before surgery. Some think it's just got to be that way so you don't have anything in your stomach that you can asperate and bring up while you are under sedation. Others think it's way out of line and old school.
Art had to FAST with NOTHING by mouth from midnite on because they were putting him under!! They could have just poked his foot with a numbing medication and done it a lot faster, but the hospital or DR's don't make as much money with that procedure.
I'll be sure to let you all know how much 15 mins in the Operating Room and Drs fee's come to for taking out NASTY STITCH that was causing trouble just above where your toes bend!! ::eek:

I went to the veggie and fruit market just now (Wed afternoon) and it's UNREAL how they have JACKED the prices up in one week. I can live without the stuff if that's the way it's going to be. The store was WAY LESS PACKED than normal.

Paid $3.81 for regular gas at Costco today. Stations on the street are at $3.95 a gal for regular. And we ALL KNOW they're still making MONEY. Just WRONG WRONG WRONG. At least the government STOPPED buying reserves yesterday. Didn't say how long they will hold out on buying anymore. They said they didn't want to add to the inflation of the cost of gas by buying reserves right now.

I'll get off my SoapBox now and go rest..........before I have a heart attack.

Our Costco in Gilroy charges the same for gas as the street price for Conoco Phillips, Chevron etc. Gas was $4.079 in San Jose this afternoon. Diesel is now $4.60.

Isn't there any one looking out for the common persons best interests anymore? What's his name is just phoning in now....until Jan 20. He's in the Middle East, but what's that gong to do?....other than burn a couple hundred thousand gallons in fuel for Air Force One.

I've never seen it before where we are getting assailed from every direction.

Art's toe should be under warranty!
