Good Saturday Morning Wrabbits! Amazing what a good nights sleep can do for you! :clap002:

Lee: Hope you and Lu-Ann got through all your tests and scans, etc, etc and driving wasn't too hard on Lu-Ann. Now you two don't over due it today. Kick back on that nice covered back patio area and enjoy your breakfast and then find a BOOK and chill out and read. Falling asleep is allowed.

It's cloudy here right now and we're 'suppose' to get a 20% of showers. So far just CLOUDY!
Art left for his Sat morning bike ride (35-40 miles). Hope he doesn't get rained on.

DAVE: You take the day off from whatever it is you normally do. It's amazing how lifting and carrying heavy things can let you know "IT'S NOT WHAT YOU'RE SUPPOSE TO BE DOING"!
I hope the Nephew gets over to your place before the PRICE OF LUMBER goes up anymore to build out that "SHE SHED". Oh wait, it's not just Kathi's get-away shed! Ha Ha

My neighbor on one side has a ranch house like ours and we have noticed BIG BEE's the last couple of years around the one corner of his house. We can see them hanging around one area of the overhang of the roof. Well, Art was talking to him and it turns out they are a BEE that DRILLS HOLES in the Wood! Art pointed it out to me where the holes were. The neighbor, whose name is also ART, said a friend told him that he needs to REPAINT that side of the overhang. He told him that the dang Bee's DO NOT LIKE FRESHLY PAINTED AREAS. Now stick that in your brains and let it sink in. WOW.

My Art said that Rita & Negc should have skipped buying the new house and just looked into a Senior Living residence that also offers assistance when needed. No worries about cooking, grocery shopping, etc. If you want to cook you can skip the meal program....but why....they aren't that expensive. They have a VAN that takes the residence to doctors appts and grocery stores. And get this....included in the price is once a week CLEANING SERVICES. We think he applied when they first opened this place with his Military Discount.

Our 99 yr old Nick has a 1 bedroom suite w/kitchen, stove, refrig, dishwasher etc, etc. that he never uses. He takes his own clothes across the hallway to the laundry area and can manage to throw them in and change them over to the dryer. I'm just hoping he'll still be able to do that after his long stay in the hospital and the Rehab place.
That family has been more than blessed with Nick living on his own all these years. He was never a real burden to them until this past year. His MOTOR IS RUNNING LOW these days after running full speed for 99 years. WOW.

Okay folks.........I have nothing more for you right now. Want to get some of the plants in the ground before it rains..... if it rains!!

BB: I HATE with a passion UPS. I'd pay extra just to have Fed-X deliver me my packages. Thank goodness I don't shop on line like some of my neighbors do. I'll see just how long the Amazon order for the deck chair & table cover takes to get here! LOL

Enjoy your day!

After re-reading my post I had to laugh at that paragraph above. YES, I did order ONLINE from Amazon this past week. I think I can count on my fingers how many times I've ordered anything online. I just like to see what I'm buying in person and hate the expense and trouble of doing returns. With this Amazon purchase, if it doesn't work out I can take it to Kohls and there is a Amazon Return Area right in the store. Amazing what goes on these days in how to shop and return things.
Let's hope the "cover" works and I can just skip the return part.

Okay......I was just passing by here..... now on my way outside.

Good morning, everyone! I hope it's as beautiful where you are as it is here right now. Temps in the mid 80s today. Nice break before the REAL heat moves in this week.

Dave - Glad the nephew will be able to take care of those doors while he's there for the shed. You guys have the relative who can do that kind of stuff. We've got the GEEK squad built into our family. Unfortunately, the GEEKS have 2 left thumbs when it comes to doing any physical labor. Good thing we have Jimmy!

Lee - I hope all went well yesterday for both you and Lu-Ann.

Bill - Any update on Rita to share with us today?

Kathie - Good thing you stopped off at your friend's house when you did. Otherwise George would have been shocked if he looked in a mirror and saw all that blood, which is very hard to remove once it dries.
Those bees that your neighbor has are called carpenter bees. They drill into the wood butt end first and can have a whole network of tunnels inside the wood. I know all about these bees, as we had them in Ocala. We had all wood soffits around the house and the bees used to drill in man places. We could always tell when they were around, because you to a pile of sawdust on the ground. We finally had to spend a small fortune to seal the holes and also have a treatment done up the walls to stop them. What happens there now is no longer our problem!

The wine FINALLY did show up going on 8! It really is a nice selection of wines from Spain, Chili and South Africa, plus 2 boxed wines from Spain that are equivalent to 4 more bottle each!!

Karen - If you decide you want to order from this company, let me know and I will refer you. Then you and I each will get $25. toward an order. Anyone else who might be interested, the referral goes for you too.

Seeing as how it was so late when the wine was delivered, we never made it to Sam's and I didn't get my Jersey Mike's sub. We ended up going to the Grille for an order of wings. I learned something last night - Don't order hot sauce in the wings that late at night. Woke up shortly after 2 sick as a dog! Normally, we get wings about 3 hours earlier and it's never been a problem. Last night was not a good night to learn that lesson!!
Going to skip Sam's today and will just get the rest of what we need for the seafood boil at Publix. We've yet to determine whether Jersey Mike's is still on the schedule.

Time to see about getting to Publix before it gets too late and stuff we need is all gone. So until later, have a wonderful day, gang, but remember to behave yourself! :)

A quick hi to everyone.
Yesterday was a long day sitting in the passenger seat. Lu-Ann’s stuff was all good and she has been discharged my Dr. McGee.
When I read about our Rita and Kathie’s friend George I really am a very lucky person who is thankful for just about everything.
Tired after yesterday thankful I could make the trip to London and back.
Talk to you all later.
In the meanwhile raise a glass to your health, your family and friends. If you dont have anything to put in your glass call our Pat. She may have a little extra wine. :emoticon 0111 blush:

Well, I got most of the 5 flats of posies planted. We had a VERY LIGHT DRIZZLE of rain around 1l:30 am and I worked right through it. Actually felt good!! :) I have a flat of Cosmos to plant in the backyard and a few leftover Waxed Begonia's that will need to find a home around here someplace. Also, did a small planter and put it into one of those wire stands that says: WELCOME! It's now in the front among the rose bushes. I used Art's Drill with the long attachment to drill the holes. What a BACK & KNEE and LEG SAVER that was. Good thing Art has 2 batteries for his drill. I used up the juice out of both of them. Guess that was a good sign it was time to stop. Ha Ha. Also, the SUNSHINE came out and I don't do planting in the heat of the SUN.
So it's looking decent around here. I'm proud of myself for getting as much done as I did!

Lee: Good to know you and Lu-Ann made it through all the places you had to go to yesterday. Hopefully, today can be a kick back day. Drink a lot of water to keep hydrated in these hot and humid days.

Pat: Late delivery is better than NO DELIVERY when it comes to your Wine Order. Did it look like the bottles were packaged really good to avoid being crushed??

When we were at Costco's yesterday to get Art's new glasses ordered we walked around and picked up some Strawberries and Oatmeal. Didn't even have a basket. We looked at the CRAB LEGS and a package with 2 LEGS of CRAB was $58.00 buck-a-roos. Crazy expensive. We both said that would be enough to feed ONE PERSON! Good luck buying what you need for your "BOIL" for your gang at Publix's. Sure hope it's not CRAB LEGS. $$$$
It's times like this that BERT should have a Credit Card that pays CASH BACK. Maybe he actually already has one of those and just doesn't like using it. Why wouldn't anybody that buys as much food as you guys do not use a CASH BACK credit card like the one you get at Costco or Sam's club. You could have a nice pay-back once a year! I love getting that check from my Costco Card.

NEGC: If you're reading along ..........let us know if Rita is up to receiving phone calls in the hospital or not? Hope the kids are watching over you while you're along in the condo.
I take it you guys are down to (1) car these days. Might not need 2 cars anymore. Just be really careful as you go back and forth to the hospital or carry-out places.
Tell Rita we're all thinking of her.

Okay, I'm off to the showers. My planting for today is over. Might just make myself a Long Island Ice Tea when I get out of the shower! It's a nice day to just sit on the deck and be

Here's a better picture. You just have to be careful not to get your wrist jerked if the Auger Bit hits some ROOTS. Let up on the drill speed and switch to "REVERSE" and then pull up on the bit and switch back to "Forward" you'll be back in business again.

Good afternoon!

Kathie, how scary that George had fallen like that & didn't even realize he was hurt....glad you were able to patch him up...did you get his insurance information before you left?;)

Lee, I hope there was a Starbucks drive thru at some point in your long trip yesterday....that's great news about Lu-Ann being released from the Dr.' s care!

Pat, I'm with you on UPS....you never know when they are going to show up....it was after 9pm the night they delivered the wine my brother sent....I'm glad it at least showed up for you & all in one piece. I haven't had a chance to check out their site yet, but $25 is a pretty good incentive to do so!

Dave, No sealer required on the driveway re-do...it's supposed to have built in bonding agents & stuff to hold it together...time will tell how long it lasts..you are lucky to have your own personal handy man with your nephew...good help is hard to find!

Went to Jane's early this morning as we had 2 more guys scheduled to come out & give her an estimate on putting up the pool...the first guy was supposed to be there at 9....as of 3:16 he still hasn't showed or called...I sent him a message at 9:45 saying...I guess 9 am didn't work for you after all....and have never received a response to that either...
While I was there I pressure washed the 2 small concrete areas outside her sliding glass doors & worked on re-doing her "red Neck" patio...5-6 yrs ago we cleared out the space between the 2 patio doors & put down a 12x17 ft piece of indoor outdoor carpet..edged with brick pavers....it held up pretty decent...except for a couple small spots that was peeling up a little. Jane would like to have a real patio poured but getting that done is 1. EXPENSIVE....and 2. Can't get anyone to show up & do it...so we decided to just buy another piece of carpet & replace it...so we did...got it laid out and the edgers all pressure washed so it's all fresh & pretty again. I'm going over Tues. to paint the small patio areas & will post a picture once it's all done...
The 3rd pool installer guy actually showed up just before noon as scheduled...he runs an irrigation company & also does above ground pools...he also does painting on the side...Nice young man...seemed to have a lot of hustle...but didn't talk down to us & seemed to know what he was talking about. He gave Jane a price that was less than half of what the first guy had told her sight unseen....we asked what his schedule looked like & he said if we call when the pool arrives he will get it installed within a day or 2 after we call...so Jane is a happy camper over that! AND he has a buddy who builds decks...so she is going to get a price from him on having a small deck built...there is no way Jane & Barb can shimmy up that little ladder to get into the pool.
Before I left today Jane also cut my hair for me, so now I feel all fresh & pretty again....and tired....I can't do outside projects at the same pace I used to anymore...enjoy the rest of the day all!!

8:13 pm....
Karen: It's amazing how contractors (I say that loosely) just don't show up when the tell you they are coming out. I'm having the same issue with getting a quote for the kitchen remodel. He came out, but I have called 2 times to see when the drawings will be ready. All I get is we're REALLY SWAMPED! I'll give him one more week and then move on. That company did Jill's kitchen and they do good work! Just can't find workers these days. People are getting too much money to just stay home. Bummer.
Good job replacing the outdoor carpet by Janes. If it can last another 5-6 years she'll be happy.
Oh....and your HAIR CUT is SMASHING! :clap002:

So here's tonight's updates:

Our sub is call DEERWOOD. Art and I had dinner out on the deck and then just sat around watching nature. Well, low and behold a DEER stopped by the lower area of the property by the garden tonight. Sniffed and then slowly walked our lot line by the creek and onward. We haven't seen a DEER in the daytime in a LONG LONG TIME. I bet they romp through at night, but to see one in your yard is TOO COOL.

Then we watched 3 young Rabbits RACE around our backyard. They are faster than I thought they would be. It was fun to watch, but in the back of my mind I kept thinking of the FLOWERS I just paid for and PLANTED today and the garden that doesn't have a fence around it.:oops: Gotta go buy some netting or plastic fencing to at least put around the garaden. I fear for my flowers on the side of the house. Need to buy some Ammonia . Somebody said they don't like the smell of it. I'll put small pans of it here and there among the flowers.

That's it for UPDATES.

You all have a good Sunday~ Where has this week gone to. Busy, Busy!

Time for me to say good night. Pulled one of my famous falls this evening. I tripped over the oxygen line and went down. Broke a wine glass in my fall, so lots of blood. Not my best move. Gary and company came over and helped get me up. I am so not a happy camper that this happened. I am now so ready to crash on the couch for the rest of the evening.

See you all tomorrow. Not sure when I'll get to check in. We're meeting M&J for brunch at the Grille and then it will be time to start making things for our seafood boil. Hopefully, I will get a chance to visit with my cyber family.

In the meantime, y'all take care and stay safe.:)

I am now so ready to crash on the couch
Pat, I would have thought one “crash” yesterday would have been enough for you! I do hope that you don’t find any extra bumps or bruises this morning.
Kathie, I find that I just can’t take the heat and humidity that we’ve had the past few days. If we don’t get the pups on their walk early I can’t do it. I’m supposed to walk a couple of times a day but not in heat, wind, rain, cold…With the rec centre and mall closed I can’t even go there for a climate controlled stroll. You can’t beat seeing deer and bunnies and other wild life in your own back yard.
Karen, trades here are no different. Our friends who are moving down are trying to get 26 fence posts dug and set. They have reached out to about a half dozen companies and are either quoted a ridiculous amount or they don‘t show up. The trades all have so much work right now they can be overpriced or turn down small jobs. Are there fence requirements when you have a pool in your yard? I believe that here code is a minimum 4 ft around the pool if you don’t have a fully fenced yard. Now, would you believe that all the Starbucks were on the other side of the road! We stopped at a Timmies and I had about 1/2 of a real bad coffee.
How’s your energy level today Dave? That male ego thing we have is a pain, isn’t it? Sometimes literally when we ignore the little voice in our head that says “take a break”. We have a commercial here that made me think of you. A fella gets all new carpet and underpad in his bedroom. When the installer leaves, he lays on the floor with his dogs and enjoys the new soft floor.
How’s Rita doing Bill? You guys just haven’t had a break from mishaps this year!
Coming up on 6:30. Time for my 5 flippin’ pills. Today is the last day for potassium and I really hate that one. It’s still tough to think that six weeks ago I didn’t have to take any pills. I hope to be back there in another six weeks. Or less.
All of you have a great Sunday. If it’s with family, friends or a quiet day on your own just enjoy it! And stay safe!

I never knew you fast running Bunnies knew so much about bees.

That is so smart of you K2 using the drill and auger bit to dig holes for posies. Your back and legs thank you for it. I bet you wish you had thought about doing it that way years ago. Oh yea, our contractor/nephew has mentioned that over the past year the cost of lumber has gone up 300%.

KC; You Florida Bunnies sure have a hard time finding reliable contractors. I'm guessing it's because there's so many people living there and so few contractors. They don't seem to care if they lose out on a job because there's a dozen other people wanting their services. But it does sound that you found a gem for that pool installation. I got a haircut too. It was that one right between my eyebrows.

Hot Damn, your wine DID show up, BB. All of us are happy that you didn't break anything in last night fall. Sounds like you're not going to be ordering hot-wings for a while. My gut can't handle much late night eating either. I always regret it when I do chow down late. Early day eating is what my body is programmed for.

I'd bet your chest felt every little pothole on that trip, Lee. Do you still use that chest-pillow? On these hot days a lot of people are just staying inside and enjoying the air conditioning.

Only thing I have planned for today is a trip to the booze store for some vodka.

A little burg like Massillon actually has 3 Catholic churches. And they do like their BINGO and festivals. But Covid cut that out last year. But now they are being phased back in. Half a dozen blocks from us is one of those churches and their carnival with rides started up Friday night and finishes up tonight. The sounds from all they have going on sure carries over to us. No complaints from me though. When I open up the back door to let the doggies out I can hear kids laughing and having a good time. I'm sure there are health restrictions there even now that new infections are very low. But it's still a sign that these vaccinations are paying off in getting us back to near normal.

Best things ever! Dogs and kids laughter. Yep, I still use “Hugh” as my pillow was named. I put him under the seatbelt where it crosses my chest. And pot holes are a bit of a bother.
Why “Hugh”? Well, we watch a New Zealand TV show called “The Heart Guy” about a surgeon who’s name is, yep, Hugh.

Good morning! Time for a quick post before we head for the Grille for brunch with M&J. Then it's back home to start prepping for the seafood extravaganza. Got lots to do to get ready for it - fix deviled eggs, make a berry tart with strawberries & blueberries. And that's just the start!!

Boy, do I ever hurt today! I'm sure Rita and I could compare aches and pains right now. Aside from a cut on my hand, the worse pain is my left knee, which I hit on the way down. Plus I haven't a clue how I managed to bruise my right arm big time. It's dark purple half way up my arm! Good thing I have a very light long sleeve blouse to cover most of it.

Better run and get ready to go out. I'll try to stop back after everyone leaves, but there's no guarantee that will happen. Have a wonderful day. Enjoy the beautiful weather, if you're getting beautiful weather. Otherwise, stay inside!! :)

Hi Wrabbit family!

SAD NEWS.......Mary passed away a few hours ago. (4:40pm) I just knew it wasn't going to be long from the conversation I had with George & Marie on Friday in his driveway. I passed by their house around 10:30 a.m. today (Sunday) (you can see their house from 24 Mile Rd as I drove by) on my way to the Costco's out by Jill & Mark's area.... and it was all closed up. No garage door open. They usually have it up about 4" when they're home or it's up all the way. On the way back home from Costco's it was still all closed up. They sent me sent me a TEXT Message around 12:30 pm that said the Blueberry-Lemon loaf was delicious and almost all gone. Things were still okay with Mary then.

I'm sad that they all have to deal with raising their 14 yr old Granddaughter, Kristina. I don't know what her Mother had planned for that. I feel so badly for that young girl.

Okay folks, I'm going to ask that you all say a little prayer for the family. And I'm going to be off of here for awhile. This family, as I have told you before, is very close to our family and it's going to be a busy week for sure.

Pat........please be careful walking around your house with those lines around the floor and NO MORE WALKING AROUND WITH A GLASS in YOUR HAND. I hope you didn't break anything. Take care.

Love you all..........

Kathie, my thoughts & prayers are with you & with Marie & George...such a sad thing for all of you...(((Hugs)))!

Lee, glad you have your friend "Hugh" to help smooth out the bumpy ride....did you know that Hugh was also Tony's first name?

Pat, that sounds like one scarey tumble you took yesterday..I sure hope you didn't break anything....we don't bonce as well as we did when we were younger!

Dave, nothing like the sights, sounds & smells of a small town carnival to bring back memories of being a kid again! Back when I was growing up we always looked forward to the Liberty Center Homecoming & the Delta Chicken Festival...yummy food & fun rides!

Got some pool time in with my sister's this afternoon...then did a drive thru with them at our favorite BBQ place...something about spending an afternoon in or on the water that really makes you hungry!
Jane is all excited...tracking shows her pool arrived at the Ocala terminal yesterday...so hopefully it will be delivered tomorrow...it sure will make mowing at her house more fun...mow a little bit...jump in the pool & cool off....
Tomorrow morning I have to go with a couple of the other board members & keep an eye on one of our residents while the mowing guys are here....a few months ago the board agreed to let any homeowner who wanted to mow their own lawn do so...WITH the stipulation they had to mow it every Monday the same as the community mowers...over the past few weeks there have been at least 2 that have not mowed and their lawns are getting over grown...soo...the board met last week & voted to take back all the mowing....letters were hand delivered to each of the homeowners in question...one of them is a real nut case & has called the police on the lawn company before...so we are going to supervise while they mow her lawn first....should be interesting...have a good evening all...catch up with you tomorrow!

So sad to read about Mary's passing, K2. A tough time for family, friends and you.

So how did the seafood extravaganza go BB? Or were you still too full from brunch?

Hugh. That's a cool name for a chest pillow, Lee. Should it be pronounced, Hugh???
1f601.png

Morning KC. Don't be overdoing it this week. Sure don't envy you having to keep any eye on a nut-case while the community mowing is taking place. You never know what people like that are going to do.

The local booze store doesn't sell hooch on Sunday so we went to the larger grocery store we often shopped at. Problem with that booze store is that it's in the middle of the grocery store. So we decided to wear our masks, even though we are fully vaccinated, and not only get the vodka but also grab a cart and pick up some items we like that are not sold at our smaller grocery store. We didn't buy much, just some breakfast cereal flavor and yogurt flavor that Kathi likes.

We hadn't actually gone in a grocery store for almost a year. Little things changed during that time; Mask wearing is not enforced, since the CDC says fully vaccinated people don't have to. (I wonder how how much honesty is in this honor-system.) Heck the last time we were there there was a city cop at the entrance in case some customer wanted to get into a fight with an employee for being asked to wear a mask.

They have removed the arrows on each isle that told people what direction people were to go in each isle.

But all employees still were required to wear masks.

It was kind of fun "mingling with the masses", But for now we are still sticking with grocery pick-up.

Good morning.
Lots of rain last night. Good for the grass and plants. Chance of more wet stuff throughout the day.
Kathie, I was so sorry to hear that your friend Mary passed. I’m sure George and Marie will welcome your encouragement and caring in the weeks and months ahead.
Dave, you nailed my mask concern on the head. How many anti-vaccers will simply go everywhere without their masks? Who is there to challenge them and ask for proof. Still, it must have been nice to take a quick spin around the grocery and see what’s new.
I did not realize Hugh was Tony’s first name Karen. Kinda gives my Hugh a special meaning then, doesn’t it. Oh the joys of being on the HOA. That nut case isn’t the lady that asked how we got the dogs in the day we visited you, is it? That pool footprint should make mowing quicker! Just keep the cord away from the water. ;)
How are you feeling today Pat? Any more surprise bumps or bruises? It sounds like you had a bigger tumble than you thought. Or told us about.
Time to try to get Ava up. She’s the first pup we’ve had who likes to sleep in. Which throws a spanner into the big dogs meal times.
You all enjoy this Monday. Take a second to appreciate those around you and everything you have.

Good afternoon, gang!

Kathie - So sorry to hear the news about Mary. Sending prayers and hugs to you, Marie & George. You've got some very difficult days ahead.

Karen - Being able to cool off midway through mowing is always a good thing. So how did you make out with that nut job and the landscapers mowing her lawn?
I too remembered that Tony's first name was Hugh and was going to mention it, but you beat me to it.

Dave - Doesn't it feel strange actually going into a supermarket once again? I've been in Publix twice now and opted out of going into the store with Bert last time and I'm glad I made that decision. Bert said the store was very crowded. Thanks to that a--hole governor we have, masks are not needed in Publix, if you are vaccinated and that includes cashiers too. Of course, they take your word for this and cannot ask to see a vaccination card. Too many people here not getting vaccinated, so the times I do go into stores, I still wear a mask also.

Lee - Feeling fine today, except for the bumps and bruises, which I have quite a few of. Not as achy as yesterday, which is a good thing.
I hope Ava finally decided to get up so you could go for the walk before the rains return.

Time for me to get off here. Missy has been recruited to clean today, so I better go check and see how her progress is going. She didn't start until after lunch, so I don't see too much getting done today.

Tomorrow the gang will all be back to help finish off what was left from yesterday's seafood boil.

Have a wonderful remained of the day, everyone! :)

It must be a nice day in Bunnyville today so everyone is out enjoying the day. Everyone is, to quote Elmer Fudd, vewwy, vewwy quiet.
Yes Pat, Ava finally got up about 6:40. She went out, did her thing and they all had breakfast. Then we got out on their beloved walk. The forecast kept changing and thus far we’ve not seen a drop of rain. They are still calling for a shower in the 6:00 hour. Good to know that you’re not as achy as yesterday. Time to invest in Govino “almost” indestructible plastic wine glasses. ;)
Be good my friends.

Get that Buster Poindexter tune on the turntable DJ Dave because today is gonna be “Hot, Hot, Hot.” It’s already feeling close to 70F.
Very little on tap for the day. We have to pick up the licence sticker for the van, pick up something from Purolator which neither one of us can figure out and that’s about it.
I usually get the two year sticker so you can imagine my shock to see that’s $240 bucks! I may go back to the one year version! We have to go to Service Ontario in town because even though we changed addresses on driver’s licenses, ownership and health cards on line we have to pick up the new ownership in person. I think our green ownership is kinda like your pink slip which is the colour of our insurance slips. Hope you paid attention ‘cause there will be a test.
Back later to check up on everyone and find out what mischief you all got in to yesterday.
