DAVE/Kathi: My apologies.
I got the pooches names mixed up in my last post.
RIP: Big Foot (Coco). Hope that FuzzButt is not going through the house looking for BigFoot.

Good afternoon!! Got up bright & early to make my run to Lowe's & Home Depot...best time of the day to get in & out of there fast!
Got the bottom of the door fixed & the new tile put down...then on my way home I stopped off at Publix...they are now doing walk in's for the covid shot soooo....I got the first dose today...I went with the Merdena (sp?) so will get the 2nd shot in 28 days...I really was debating on getting it or not...but knowing it will most likely be required for travel my "cheap" side won out...right now the shot is free...who knows what it will be down the road....so may as well get it now for free...

Kathie, sure hope they can give you a shot or something to help with the pain...I've had knee issues before & they are no fun...but mine was never as bad as your's is...

Lee, how nice that your friends were able to surprise Lu-Ann for her birthday. You might as well listen to the rehab nurse...if you don't slow down it's just going to take longer to heal & get back in shape...I know...easier said than done!

Pat, hope your A/C is in tip top shape...they are calling for some major high temps over the next few days....sure wish we would get some rain soon...but it's not looking to promising...
Hope Gypsy is doing much better today!

Dave, nice you were able to get all the flowers planted...now where are the pics? :emoticon 0102 bigsmile:
I got most of my house work done yesterday...I have just a couple things I want to do today before I head to the pool...tomorrow morning Scooter has her last (hopefull) check up after her dental work...9:30 am so should be able to get in & out pretty quick....now I guess I better get off here & get my chores done if I want to play this afternoon...have a good one all!

Good morning, everyone! But more importantly -
Happy Birthday, Rita! 39 again???? LOL
Glad I got that in before I forgot!!

Kathie - Good luck with that new doctor you have an appointment with today. Be sure and check back here and tell us how you made out.

Lee - You're as bad as Bert when it comes to being told to take it slow and not rush anything to possibly do more damage. Give yourself time to heal. Stop trying to be a macho man! Nice that your friends dropped by with birthday cake for Lu-Ann. Was she surprised?

Dave - Good for you guys getting all those plants in yesterday. Got any aches and pains from that job?
You're right about Gypsy being a very strong dog. Jimmy shot a video of her this morning fetching her ball in the yard. So far she seems to be ok and that's a good thing. She is just the sweetest lab I've ever seen. A far cry from the one Laurie bought be one Christmas that never settled down. I finally had to give her away which really upset me. I was afraid she'd dislocate my shoulder taking her for a walk. She was that strong.

Karen - Our AC is all set to handle the heatwave. I'm seeing some stuff calling for over a 40% chance of rain on Sunday & Monday. While we really need the rain, it stinks that it may ruin some plans for the holiday weekend. I guess we'll just have to wait and see, right?
Good for you to finally get the vaccine. We got the moderna also.

Couldn't decide what we wanted for dinner last night, so we ended up taking the easy way out and went to the Grille. I am so glad we did. Got to see and sit with a few of our old friends, including the people next door in the spool house. The way our lanais are situated, we can't see if either of us are outside, so we were glad to visit for a while last night. Also found out our old neighbors from the other side are in the area, so I hope we get to see them too over the next few days.

Not much going on here today. I have to blanch a pile of plum tomatoes to put in the freezer sometime today. Also making steaks for dinner tonight. Not sure yet what we'll have with it though at this point. Probably baked potato and corn on the cob. This is the heart of corn season in Florida, so we are eating a lot of this oh so sweet corn while it's available right now.

I see by the clock on the wall that it's almost lunchtime. I need to throw on a load of laundry before we find something to eat, so I better get a move on. Have a wonderful day, gang, and make sure you follow the rules! :)

Suppose to get down into 40F tonight. It's already COLD outside. Dropping fast.

I saw the Orthopedic Dr and he did the usual (Cover your Butt) X-Rays. Said I didn't have any arthritis in my knee. YIPPEE. But really couldn't pin-point what my pain issue was. So he gave me a Cortisone shot in the knee ( I didn't feel a thing...thank goodness) and had them put on a niffy brace to keep my knee from moving back and forth. Ordered a MRI and sent me on my way. Said to rest the knee as much as possible. Ha Ha. Will see me back after I get the MRI.
I guess the Cortisone shot takes 2-3 days to really do any good. Time will tell. Hopefully it will make walking into Church Saturday morning a little less
obvious that I have a knee issue. I'll walk in slower than normal. Haven't been in church in 2 years. Hope the Saint Pictures don't fall off the walls. (they're made up in ceramic tile pieces) LOL

Traffic going across town was UNBELIEVEABLE. There must be people working INSIDE OFFICES to have this much traffic again. Actually, that's a GOOD THING.

PAT: I bought some Fresh FLORIDA CORN on the COB the other day at the Veggie Mkt and it was SO GOOD! Very, very young and sweet. Amazing, because you all know that PURE MICHIGAN CORN is the BEST!

Time for me to say good night. We just finished dinner and I am so stuffed. I'll be lucky if I can make it to the couch.

Kathie -I'm sure Michigan corn is good, as is Florida corn, but neither of them will beat Jersey corn. It's world famous, as are Jersey tomatoes. It's just something about the soil, but they always are at the top of the list for their flavor. Unfortunately, August is about the only month you can get either and they don't ship very well.

Have a great night, everyone. :) :sleep002:

Atta girl KC for getting the first Moderna shot! I was beginning to wonder if you were one of the anti-vaxers. Interestingly, it's the same shot that Kathi and I got along with Dr. Anthony Fauci. The doctor/scientist that came up with the formula for Moderna's Covid 19 shot is a young lady of only 35 years of age. Dr. Kizzy Corbet. She's been working on other variations of different Covid strains for years and years. But to solve the puzzle for Covid 19 all she needed was the genetic sequencing of this Covid 19. (19 stands for 2019.) When she was given that sequencing on a Friday, she had the formula for the vaccination by Monday. How cool is that. What a smart lady.

HAPPY BELATED BIRTHDAY RITA!

How happy I am hearing that that sweet Lab has bounced back from the poison, BB.

K2; No active searching in the house by Fuzzbutt looking for Big-Foot. Be we can tell that she knows that something isn't right. Dogs have a great sense of smell, so I'm sure she still smells Big-Foot's scent. Often laying down in places that Coco used to lay. Sure hope that cortisone shot and brace does the trick, without having surgery.

I know it sucks to slow down Lee, but you're going to have to for quite a while. Just getting older makes me really mad a lot of times. Not being able to do things which were just normal up till this point. But I've learned that If I try just to push through I'm going to get a lot of pain or hurt myself. Paying someone to do something for us now is a slap to our male egos. But that's reality. And reality often sucks.

Our grocery pick-up time yesterday was 10 o'clock. But early in the morning they gave us a call to not show up till 11. They were swamped. I'd forgot about Monday's holiday.

Today Kathi will off to the beauty parlor to get her hair done. No outside projects for me since it's going to be a soggy-doggy day.

A good morning to you all.
Karen, I'm soooo glad to hear that you got the first shot. Not just for you but for all those around you who you care about and who care about you. Like us Bunnies.
Another birthday Rita? Didn't you have one just last year? Hope it was a great one.
At least the grocer called you Dave! Saved you showing up at the appointed time and the groceries weren't there. No pooh patrol here either because of the heavy rains.
Kathie and Pat, I think that we all have great veg of some sort or other that a brag worthy. Leamington, about 45 minutes from here, is the Tomato Capital of Canada. We have even seen Leamington tomatoes at the farmers market in Celebration, FL!
Such good news that Gypsy seems to be OK after taste testing she ought not have been in to Pat. It can happen so quick. I also wish we had a Grille close by. I guess we do if you consider The Salty Dog. They've tried to stay open for take away through the whole misadventure of covid.
Kathie, all of the folks who were here for my girl's birthday have had at least the first Pfizer shot. Three of the six have had their second. Still, at the door and until we all figured out where we would be sitting we all kept out masks on. And yes, by the letter of the law we broke the "Stay at home order, the no gathering with people outside your household and the 5 person limit." Ontarians are just plain getting fed up with it all! Haircuts? Not until at least July and only provided certain vaccination percentages are met and COVID numbers are going down. I sure hope that you get some relief from that achy knee!
There was a bit on the news feed the other day that since las April, that being April 2020, some businesses have only been allowed to open for 6 weeks. And the Ontario government can't figure out why businesses are going under.
Another poll here locally had to do with reopening the Canada / US border. Oddly enough of the four choices that included now, when the numbers go down, the fall or December things were pretty evenly split with no one choice a clear winner. As long as they open things up by January, Lu-Ann and I will be VERY happy campers.
I better get my big boy a shot of his CBD oil. The heavy rain is starting to bother him.
You all have a fantastic day!

Good morning! Another bright sunny morning around here with temps heading for the mid 90s. Got your bathing suit ready, Karen?

Kathie - How's that knee doing with the brace on it? Any sign of the shot kicking in yet? I hope it starts to feel better soon.

Dave - We also got the moderna shot. That's an amazing story about the gal who developed the vaccine Thanks for sharing it. While Gypsy is doing great right now, the vet said that it could be a couple of weeks before any problems develop. They just have to keep their fingers crossed and hope she'll be fine.

Karen - Any side effects from your shot beyond a sore arm? That's pretty normal.

Lee - I see you just posted while I'm still typing. Sorry about your rain. I guess there's no walk in Navy Park today, right? I hope the heavy rain doesn't knock all the flowers there off.

Not a lot to chat about this morning. I have to stick around the house as I'm waiting for a delivery of one of my meds. It comes straight from the hospital instead of from our local pharmacy. This way, my insurance pays for the whole thing, so I'll stay home for a day for that benefit.

Last night was Emily's high school graduation. Gary was the only one she invited. I sent her a message congratulating her, but she never responded to it. The longer it takes for her to respond, the smaller her graduation gift is going to be! Who knows when she'll ever show up to collect it. Not sure if her mother lurks here to see what we, or rather me, talk about.

Time for another cup of coffee and then a breathing treatment (UGH) before I get to work in the kitchen. Not sure who might be coming to visit over the holiday weekend, but I do want to make some salads, just in case. I hate the ones they sell at Publix.

Have a fantastic Friday, everyone. Stay dry, stay cool, and mainly, stay safe! :)

Well Pat, I can assure you that Lu-Ann and I will NOT be dropping in over the holiday weekend. :emoticon 0102 bigsmile: I can also tell you that, like a retired mailman, a little rain didn't stop us from a quick trip around the park. The flowers were all holding up pretty well then.
We're waiting on FedEx to deliver our medicine too. In this case, our medicine is called COFFEE!
Fingers crossed that Gypsy doesn't show any ill effects in the coming weeks.
I suspect if there is a "lurker" you can expect a response to your note before your gift, like The Titanic, slips completely below the surface...

Regarding Tomatoes: LOL:
200.gif
Nothing better than a fresh garden grown tomato! Florida, Michigan or Leamington, ONT. New Jersey Corn too.
We use to get a kick out of seeing the OVER LOADED trucks in Canada on the highway when we were going to Goderich. Grain trucks too to unload at the grain elevators at the Port of Goderich. And later in the year SUGAR BEETS loaded to brim on trucks. Missed seeing that since Covid. I won't take seeing things like that for granted anymore.

Lee: I give you both EXTRA POINTS for going out in this COLD, DAMP, RAINY day for a walk around the park. Those PUPS are SO LUCKY TO HAVE you caring for them. Good job.
I did hear something about the borders opening up at the End of June or July on the radio today. Just can't remember which month.
All I can say if the Blue Water Bridge was back up for 1.5 hours yesterday with TRUCK ONLY and ESSENTIAL WORKERs traffic from the USA to CANADA I can't even imagine what it will be like when the borders open for everyone else!

KNEE IS MUCH LESS PAINFUL today. The shot is a good MASK for the pain. I still get a "kick" when I try to lift it off of the bed and getting into the car. But at least I am not clinching down on a stick in pain today. Thanks for asking everyone.

Went and got my COVID TEST this morning at the Urology office. YIKES.....lots of people with

Pee Pee issues. I counted 21 people sitting in this HUGE waiting area at one point and who knows how many are locked into ROOMS in the BACK waiting to be seen. Good thing you get checked in right as you get off the elevator. And the waiting room is absolutely HUGE and they have seats TAPED off where you cannot sit. Good job on their part.

I got into see the Nurse Assistant in 10 mins. I was amazed.

Now the Covid Stick it in your NOSE procedure was UGLY. It was like she was going for a LUNG SWAB. Glad that's over. Should have results by Monday. No news is good news from what the nurse said. My out-patient procedure is Wednesday so plenty of time to get results.

It's so DAMP and COLD and Rainy that I had to switch from A/C mode to HEATING MODE to get the dampness out of this house. Brrrr.

Karen how are you doing today. Hope your arm is not too sore from the shot. Art and I were luck and didn't have any side effects. Hope you do well too.

PAT: That was really quick MED delivery service. Better than your wine delivery! LOL
I think it's nice that you and Bert can drive by M&J's new homesite and send her photo updates. Saves them a trip.

DAVE: Perfect day to have Kathi go for a Hair Salon visit. I bet Lu-Ann would love to do that right about now. Lee too! I know I'll be giving Art a TOUCH-UP trim job tonight so he looks all cleaned up for church tomorrow.

Okay, I'm out of here for now. Time to lay down and give MYSELF and my LEG a rest. If only I could fall asleep. That would be so wonderful, but it won't happen.

Lee - We would have really welcomed a visit from you and Lu-Ann, but I guess we will have to wait a bit longer for that. You definitely worked for the post office going for a walk in heavy rain. No thank you!

Kathie - Glad to know that the shot is doing some good for your knee. Just take it slow tomorrow going to church. That covid swab really is a pain, but heck, it saves loves. Don't you remember a saying as a kid STICK IT UP YOUR NOSE LIKE A RUBBER HOSE? Never Made much sense to me, but the kids all said it. LOL

M&J will be here on Sunday. They will be bringing Gypsy with them. Of course, they are going to want to see the progress on their lot in person. Our pictures are only a teaser.

Time now for some ME time on the lanai. Bert's caulking something at the bottom of the new bathroom door. Seems like a hornet was building a nest in the spot. Got the nest out and now hopefully, hornet will not be back. I'm sure he'll be joining me on the lanai shortly!

Pat: Have Bert put some Cotton Balls soaked in Ammonia in that bathroom door area on the outside of the door. They're not suppose to like the smell.

It's still cold here. 45F degrees now. Tomorrow it's suppose to MOSTLY SUNNY and 56F-60F tops. Nothing like a cold weekend for all those people who wanted to get outside and BBQ.

I just hope we have some Memorial Day Observance Parades around here. People forget what MEMORIAL DAY is suppose to be about. Not all Hot Dogs and partying!

Art picked up his new glasses and is a HAPPY CAMPER! He loves being able to see so clearly. And he can see the print on the Detroit Free Press equally as well. Much better than the "Cheaters" he had to use up until now. These lenses also AUTO TINT when in the sunshine or outside when it's bright.

Okay....that's it.

Kathie, glad to hear the knee is feeling a little better....I had a couple cortisone shots in my shoulder years ago & it did help a LOT!
Will be thinking of all of you tomorrow...a rough day for you all!

Dave, not really an anti-vaxer....I just wasn't 100% sure how safe the vacine was going to be....was very rushed in my opinion and with lil t involved who knew what kind of hijinx were involved...glad to know I'm in good company with Dr. Fauci...

Pat, sure hope Gypsy doesn't develope any problems down the road...Nice that your Meds showed up so fast! Jane is still waiting on the pool steps Barb ordered for here...Fedex tracking showed they were delivered to her "front porch" last night at 6:02...except there was no package on her front porch...and no one in the office at Fedex at that time of night...when she got in touch with them today they gave her some story about being 2 different shipments with the same shipping # and that her package would be delivered today...baloney...they delivered it to the wrong address yesterday & had to go back & get it....then they called her this afternoon & told her it didn't make it onto the delivery truck today...so now it will be Tuesday before they can be delivered...what a mess!!

Lee, sure hope they can get this virus mess sorted out for you guys..nice that you were able to get a quick walk in at the Navy yard in spite of the rain...hope Mr. Bear is doing better this evening!

Woke up way to early this morning...5:09...and that was after not sleeping that well last night...arm was bothering me some...couldn't seem to get comfortable...it's still sore today but nothing terrible..Scooter had her check up this morning & got a good report..the vet said her mouth looked good and she has gained back all of the weight she had lost..she is nearly 8 lbs again.. Got a little pool time in this afternoon...but the sun was beating down so much it just wasn't refreshing at all...so I came home & read on the back porch for a while...now I think I am going to fix the coffee for in the morning & call it a night! See you all in the morning!

Good morning.
After being up four times between 12:00 am and 3:00 I decided to go back to the spare room so as not to disturb my girl. No reason to be up. Just sitting on the edge of the bed. That continued until about 4:30 when I nodded off for an hour. It seems that, along with riding the emotional roller coaster, are side effects of my procedure.
I‘ll check back on you all later. You sure were a busy bunch ‘o bunnies yesterday.

Morning Bunnies! Time to get up and get moving. https://www.msn.com/en-us/news/offb...ows-dog-doing-yoga-with-her-owner/ar-BB1gSuRW Actual video is about 1/2 way down page.

I'd always thought that Canada had a low infection rate, Lee. So why the really tough restrictions? Did you have a major jump in Covid 19 infections? It must seem like FOREVER for your body to heal. But, it will.

Maybe next time you order meds, add some wine to the order, BB.

When you go to church K2, give thanks for not being Catholic, with all the kneeling they do. Happy that the Cortisone shot is working.

So much for a simple delivery, KC. As for your arm hurting; The pain shows that the vaccine is working.

Yikes, it went down into the 40's last night. Long pants are back.

Plan.......hit the treadmill before I change my mind.
