Good morning, gang! I hope you're having a good day so far. Except maybe for Lee who probably wants to take a nap right about now.

Kathie - Will be thinking about you today as you go through a very difficult day. Dealing with a funeral is never easy.

Dave - Sorry the long pants are back. It's going to be another hot one here, but we need to enjoy it, as the wet weather is about to return with a vengeance. That figures. We have M&J coming for a BBQ tomorrow and then G&E come with their gang on Monday. Not looking good for time on the lanai, so could turn into an indoor BBQ.

Karen - Having your arm hurt a bit is perfectly normal after receiving the moderna vaccine. It will go away in a few days That's one foul up on the part of FedEx getting that ladder delivered to the right house. Happens here all the time too. UPS is just as bad.

Lee - Smart move going into the other bedroom to give Lu-Ann a break. I often think of doing that on nights I don't sleep well, but don't because the oxygen line won't read that far and I don't want to have to move the whole gizmo. Bert is a sound sleeper, so he's not really bothered with me up and down.

Got a lot to do today to get ready for our BBQ, no matter whether inside or outside. I need to make a couple of salads and sauces to go with everything. They all better come hungry is all I can say.

Time to get off here. We need to make a quick run to Publix for a few things. Then it will be time for me to get to work in the kitchen. Thank goodness that we're going to G&E's tonight for dinner. One less meal to worry about.

Have a wonderful day, everyone, Stay safe and try to find something fun to do to while away a few hours. :)

Good afternoon!

Pat, the arm is feeling much better...I took a couple tylenol each day & just keep using it as normal....have fun with the bbq....and when has your gang EVER shown up Not hungry... :emoticon 0102 bigsmile:

Lee, sorry your sleep habits are so off wack...but understandable too...that was sweet of you not to disturb LuAnn!

Kathie, hope today goes as well as can be expected. Nice that Art's new glasses are working out so well for him...

Dave, I'd gladly send you some of our warmer weather...I got spoiled the last few weeks with the cool mornings & no humidity..now summer has arrived in full force!

Dang cat woke me up a little after 6 this morning scratching on the headboard...I don't know what is up with that little monster...but she get's a notion to attach the headboard or get under the bed & scratch on the wall at all hours of the night... I booted her furry little butt out the door & went back to sleep...managed to sleep till a little after 8...sure felt good for a change!
Got ambitious then this morning & cleaned out my truck...with all the hauling & projects I've been doing lately it was a MESS! I wanted to wash it on the outside too, but starting tomorrow I have to go out to Wendy's every other day & check on the dog & give him a can of food...he has a big bucket of dry he eats...the canned is just as a treat. She lives on a dirt road & it's supposed to rain over the next couple days so washing my truck now would be a waste of time...
I found out yesterday my brother & his wife will be in town next weekend too...I haven't seen him since Dad's funeral last year. They are going to look at an apartment for rent while they are here...but I don't expect much to come of that. His wife is in a wheechair & has some pretty major disabilities so it's hard for them to find a suitable place to live. Where they are living now in W. Palm is just not accessible for her at all anymore.
Think I am going to go check out the pool for a bit...then I have a couple things to return to Home Depot...while I'm out I think I'm going to treat myself to dinner at Cracker Barrel...catch up with you all tomorow!

Our church is Huge and beautiful and today it was PACKED front to back on both center seating areas and on the side wings too for +Mary Nicksons funeral. It was perfect in so many ways. Touching, respectful and well attended. The choir sang beautifully, the priest said the right things and directed his last words to +Mary's young daughter Kristina and had everyone in tears. Her Mom, Marie, even got up and thanked everyone for all their phone calls, cards and the love they showed +Mary and the family in the past year and half. Very touching. She said that this was the beginning where +Mary was baptized and now the ending where she was buried from. She came full circle.
There had to be 400 people there.

I managed to look directly at the Icons on the alter and say a prayer for everyone in our group. We needed it lately.

The SUN is shining and the SKY is the Bluest it's been all week. A slight constant wind, but all in all a lovey day.

The sad thing is that because of the Memorial Day Holiday Weekend the CEMETARY does not have a staff to dig graves. So the interment will be Tuesday morning. UNREAL they have to go through even more sorrow again on Tuesday.

Now go outside be glad we're able to walk around and enjoy the day.

Thank you for all your support these past days. You're the best.
My knee made it today thanks to that SHOT! I even said a prayer of thanks for the Doctor who fit me into his schedule and made it better.

;)

Night from Belleview!

Kathie, your church is beautiful....glad to see no saints fainted when you walked in.....and thanks for the extra prayers....we needed them for sure!

Karen: It was "touch and go" with the SAINTS! I'm sure they wanted to reprimand me for not being in church for such a long time. I did wear my 'mask' even while I was singing with the choir. It wasn't hard.

Off to make a Hot Ovaltine and watch the news and then hit the sheets.

LEE: I hope you get a FULL NIGHTs sleep tonight. Ask your Doctors if you can take a 5mg
Melatonin pill to help you sleep. I buy them at Costco. I think they're grape flavored and melt in your mouth. Takes the edge off in falling asleep.

Good morning all you cute and adorable Bunnies!

A quick check-in from me this morning. Not much to gab about.

Entertainment for Mister and Mrs. Kravitz began yesterday. We noticed a few days ago that the house behind us, which was built only a couple of years ago had a stack of trusses laying in the lady's back yard. So our speculations and guessing began. An addition? A screened or glassed in back porch?

Yesterday construction began and SOME of our questions were answered. First, a larger door to her back patio was installed. (This is a fun guessing game. As every time we looked out our kitchen window our speculations changed.) By the end of the day, the trusses were all up and in place and if the workers do their thing today, more questions will be answered. Two amateur detectives in action.

Today, a comparative heat wave. All the way up to the mid 60's with tidbits of sunshine. In the last few days we've been running 20 degrees below normal.

Whipping out the air fryer again for a brunch of chicken breasts and salad. Kathi is going to try out a new marinade that you just brush on right before you put it in the air fryer. So far, everything we've cooked in it has come out good.

Ya'll have yourselves a dandy and calming Sunday. Always look for something that makes you smile.

Popping by to say hello. Trying to get myself back on the rails.
What a beautiful church Kathie. Thanks for the good word you put in for all of us.
We had a third wave here Dave which really pushed our ICU and ER departments to their limits. In an effort to try to lessen the spread and impact we were put into the current mock down. Some of the restrictions are set to expire June 2 while others aren’t scheduled to return to the new normal until August. Hair salons and barbers are, at this point, mid July.
Karen, we’ve always found that if you have a meal at Cracker Barrel there’s always enough for another meal once you get home. I sure hope that pool shows up, in tact, on Tuesday. I imagine finding an apartment that ticks all of your brother’s boxes will be tough when he needs accessibility for his wife.
Pat, I know how excited we were when we built our house in Ayr. It was close enough drop by regularly and see the progress. I bet M&J are thrilled to get your photo updates of their new home.
For the first time since April 5, I started the night in our bed and woke up in the same one. Getting back to “normal” will all come together. My goal is to be ready to enrol in and complete the Disney Princess 5K this winter. With the support and encouragement of my family (in person and cyber), friends and medical team I WILL do it! See, it’s good to have a goal.
You all enjoy the day. Stay safe and sound.

Time only for a quick good morning from me. I still have to finish making potato salad and fruit cocktail. M&J are getting ready to head this way already, so I really need to get my act together. I'll try to drop back somewhere along the line. Have a wonderful day, everyone! :)

Momma Bunny, what kind of alcohol do you put in a "fruit cocktail?" :minion dancing:
Guess I just aged myself! Growing up it was called fruit cocktail. Today it's just fruit salad. No alcohol, unfortunately, as the kids will be eating it too.

Got everything done and now just waiting for M&J to arrive.

Kathie - Your church is so beautiful. It reminds me very much to the church my brother was married in the first time, except it was a Ukranian Catholic church. They had all the icons and such. Similar also to the Greek Chatolic church in St Augustine.

We're supposed to get lots of rain later today. Just about the time we will be eating dinner, we should be getting heavy t-storms. That really stinks!!

Time to do a few last minute things and get this party started.

Hi Gang. Sunny and somewhat warmer today here in PURE MICHIGAN.
Went to see Marie & George today and they packed me up with way too much food from the Memorial Luncheon from yesterday. The restaurant where the lunch was held closed the entire place for them. Had about 110 people show up. The lady the owns the restaurant didn't charge them for the entire event. (Of course, Marie & George will take care of that real soon) They'd never let her pay for that much food and flowers and linens, waitstaff, etc. Just us crazy Serbs doing what we do best for each other.

So one nice thing is that I won't have to cook dinner tonight.

I called 99 yr old Nick's son and asked about Nick. He's not doing well at all. Came back to the Senior residence and they are paying for extra care for him, but he's weak and things don't look good for him staying there too much longer. I think Old Nick has not going to be able to bounce back very well this time around. SAD. He LOVED his independence so much for so long.

Pat: Glad you got your salads all done and I hope rain HOLDS OFF until the gang is gone.

DAVE: How fun to be able to look out the kitchen window and see what's going on at the neighbors house. So have Kathi take a few pictures so we can keep up with the progress too!

Here's a Tater Tot recipe I saw online that uses those Air Fryer gizmos you and Karen bought. Let me know if you make it or not.

Lee: Nothing wrong with having GOALS. Just make sure not to do anything you're not suppose to.
Can you even imagine the HAIR SALONS once they open up again. Yikes. I hope Lu-Ann has a appointment set-up already. Those hairdressers should be
sneaking into the girls homes and doing their hair to make some money. Who would know!

D@MMMMM....just lost a whole long post because of my stupid fat fingers...dang it...I've been so careful to save as I type lately...and of course the one time I don't...bam! lose it all...not in the mood to start over so I will catch up with you tomorrow....

Oh Karen I HATE when I lose a post. They’re usually the good ones!

I got that Sargents Crab tree all trimmed. Glad that I got that dumb job done. The 5 shrubs around it got trimmed too. Always nice to get that job done.
Tomorrow I’ll scatter the peat moss/potting soil mixture around the area to make it look nice snd yo hold the moisture in the area.
My knee did good through all this work, but I made sure not to push my luck.
Just do nice outside. We’re going to eat outside on the deck. Then maybe a drive to the big park.
Hope you all are having a good day.

Memorial Day.

A day to honor and mourn our fallen heroes. (And not just a day for barbeques and get togethers.) And also to think about the thousands of Gold Star families.

Somebody is going to have to explain to me the connection between Memorial Day and mattress sales.

Hot damn Lee, you're physically showing signs of progress. Although it does take a toll on your patience. And I'm with you.......Where the hell is the alcohol in fruit cocktail?!? Geesh, such a waste of fruit.

Not to mention that BB has been practicing false advertising.
1f601.png
Any food leftover from yesterday's shindig?

So sad to hear that Nick may soon lose his independence, K2. It's horrific enough when a person has their car keys taken away by their kids. No, we haven't done tater-tots in the air fryer yet.

You must want to SCREAM when you lose a post, KC. And as K2 says, those tend to be the ones you spend the most thought on.

Today, not much planned. I put out our American flags last night. We're not going anywhere. But for people that are getting together it should be a good day. About zip for any rain, mostly sunny, and it'll get into the lower 70"s.

Good morning....going to try this again...type slow....and SAVE!

Dave, you gave me a good chuckle with your play by play description of the construction at the neighbors house....did you end up wandering around in the back yard for a bit to have a closer view?

Kathie, so sorry to hear Nick is not bouncing back as he used to. It's got to be as frustrating to him as it is his family & friends....will keep him in my prayers!

Lee, glad to hear you got a good nights sleep the other night....one step at a time & before you know it you will be rocking that Tutu & Tiaria again at the Disney run!

Pat, hopefully the rains did not put a damper on the outdoor dining plans...we have gotten ZIP on rain....I did hear a couple rumbles of thunder last night but that was it....any leftovers to deal with today? I'm sure you will have plenty of volunteers to help clean them up if you do!
Went to Jane's yesterday & ended up just spot mowing her front yard....it's been so dry the grass just isn't growing except over the septic tank & the oak saplings under her big tree..
Then I went out to check on Sparkplug & give him his can food...poor baby met me at the door with his toy in his mouth...he never even barked! I fed him & played with him a bit...and felt guilty for leaving him...but he would be miserable locked up in my hot garage...
Barb is home from Ohio...she called me a little after 8 last night & was near Macon,Ga she had planned to stop near Atlanta to spend the night but she said she wasn't tired & traffic was moving good so she was just going to come on home...she messaged about 11:30 that she'd made it home safe... I invited her to join Jane & I for lunch but she wasn't sure she'd feel up to it....I'm sure she'll make it over to go swiming later though...
Not looking to promising on getting Jane's pool set up...the guy who was going to do it told Jane he would either do it this weekend or today at the latest...I understand if he had forgotten about today being a holiday...but so far he hasn't returned Jane's call or my email...going to give him till Tues. in case he is out of town and then it's back to searching again! We did manage to get the pallet unloaded and all the parts into the garage so at least now Jane doesn't have to worry about it getting stolen out of her driveway...
Remembering today all of those who made the supreme sacrifice so we could enjoy the freedoms we do today.. God Bless the
USA!

To all that gave their lives so we could be as free as we are today we give thanks.
We have our new flag flying high in the front of our house on a pole. I'm so glad we moved the pole from the backyard years ago to the front. My neighbor across the street has his flag flying high on a pole too. It's nice to see when you drive up the street.
Have a safe day folks.

Not as Sunny here as I would like, but we're not suppose to get any rain. Might get up to 70F later this afternoon.

Karen: I didn't remember you saying anything about Barb going to Ohio. Did she go to visit your brother? Glad she made it back okay.
That pool is going to drive all of you nuts until it finally gets set up. And then it will continue to have issues. You know that from having a in-ground pool. Wishing Jane all the best on getting the pool set-up and filled soon.

I'm "Home Alone" for most of the day. Art is on a special bike ride that started about 45 mins from our house. A biker friend that lives in Seattle is back here looking for a job and housing for him and his wife and wanted to direct a bike ride that the boys use to do years ago. So, of course Artie had to go on it. :emoticon 0122 itwasntme:
I'll go out and get that peat-moss thrown down on the front flower beds as soon as I have a cup of coffee.

PAT: Hope your day with the family went well. What's on your agenda for today?

Lee: Always nice when you post your greetings for the USA's holidays. You really are 1/2 US in my eyes.

DAVE: Seems like the BIG BOX STORES use EVERY holiday to have SALES on something. And why in the heck Mattresses are a big sale item on Memorial Day is a real mystery.

I've been looking for a new BBQ Grill and have found that they have JUMPED in PRICE something horrible. I don't think there's such a thing as a "cheap" grill anymore. Ours needs replacing, but it might have to wait until next year or maybe a END OF SEASON SALE. The price of new grates is crazy and we need new ones badly. I just use FOIL over them for right now. We don't do that much grilling to make me spend a fortune on a grill right now.

Lee, I hope you slept better last night. I DID NOT. Tossed and TURNED most of the night. Only good thing that came from a lack of a good sleep is that my ankles are NOT SWOLLEN this morning. Amazing what can make you happy. Ha Ha.

I'm passing on a "BIG HELLO" from Nancy McKenna to the Bunnies. She sent me a message and misses her Tony big time. The 3 kids have been a blessing to her and she has joined a small group of ladies that have also lost their hubbies. She connected with one of the ladies because the lady taught one of her sons in school. Amazing. She said they are going to sell the Camper trailer that they bought to stay in when they would go to McCloud. She stays in the cabin when she goes up there and it's costly to store it. She also said that the HUGE truck that Tony bought is going to get sold. It's too big for her and the boys all have new ones of their own. (that sounded just like my friend Elaine who sold her hubbies Rubicon recently. She said it broke her heart to let that car go because Mike loved it so much. It was in MINT condition. Still had the little rubber hairs on the tires because he barely drove it. Elaine sold it to Mike's cousin so it was a little easier to see it get loaded on a transport truck to go to Georgia.) So, I'm passing on Nancy's HELLO's to all.

Okay, Wrabbits.....I'm off to finally get that coffee and then get busy around here.
Have a good day all.

BILL/RITA: Sure hope things are okay with you two. Check in if you're reading along.
