Greetings from Cary, North Carolina! Haven't gone back to read what all has been going on with you, but did want to stop by to tell you that we did manage to arrive yesterday as planned. Jeff was so surprised with the White Castles which Bert kept in a cooler filled with ice packs. Those packs are still frozen, so he did a good job. Jeff had to eat one right away. Poor Joanne had to package up the rest for either the refrigerator or to go in the freezer. Bert was real good and didn't eat a single one of them.

Did a bit of shopping this morning and then went out for sushi for dinner. We came back to the hotel right after that as I am really tired and continue to have breathing issues. I wanted to get back to the continuous feed unit here in the hotel room, as the portable unit batteries were running low and needed to be charged.

Now it's time to get comfy, have a drink of wine (of course we brought some!) and watch a bit of TV before heading to bed early tonight and hope I sleep for more than 4 hours. But I did want to let you all know that we made it, are having a good time. I'll check in again when I can. Miss you all so much!

TGIF Bunnies!

And to U.S. federal employees, Happy Juneteenth Day. Technically it's tomorrow, but the 19th is a Saturday this year. For this year the postal service workers get screwed out of a day off, saying that it couldn't reschedule things so fast since it was signed into law just yesterday.

So nice that you checked in BB. Sorry to hear about your breathing problems. Hope they clear up soon. I would have lost a bet about Bert eating a few of the White Castle hamburgers. I would have guessed he'd do "quality control" by eating at least 3.

Wow, that is one mighty tasty looking BLT or club sandwich, K2. You wouldn't have to talk me into ordering one. When you do try ordering your groceries from Krogers, will that be for delivery or Art picking it up? Some grocery stores will do it either way. Many restaurants are now being forced to jack up their prices to cover the cost of meat, like you mentioned. Others are thinking about reducing portion sizes. From what I've seen, portion sizes are way too big, anyway.

$40 plus a tip to come to your home and trim the nails of 3 dogs sounds like a great deal to me, Lee. Some businesses will charge you $50 just to show up at your home, before they do anything. You were so right in moving to a place near a waterway. (And all the wineries. Wink, wink.) So where did the Canada Post deliver your package to?

More rain, or a little pool time yesterday, KC?

I can't remember when BB returns. Any of you remember?

The sun being out the last few days with warmer temperatures is something I've gotten used to. But today and tomorrow are forecast to be soggy, windy and cooler. Oh well, at least it'll be sunny on Sunday.

STILL waiting on that doctor to send that order to the pharmacy for 2 prescriptions. I called yesterday and they said it might be sent today. I don't know what that office is doing. It should have been sent on Monday.

Good morning!

Pat, glad to hear you made it to NC safely! Sorry to hear you are still having breathing issues....the dr. you saw before you left sounds like he came from the same school as the Dr. that did the televisit with Lee....Dr. Useless...

Dave, no rain or pool time yesterday....I went to Jane's to mow the front yard & help her clean & put the guest room back in order...her front yard was beginning to look like a jungle
Glad to hear Fred made if safely back to his appointed spot...Franklin...how could I forget that!

Kathie, agree...that is a fine looking club sandwich....sadly unless my uncle brings me some Ohio tomatoes we don't get any down here with any kind of flavor at all!!

Lee, a day on/at the water win's out over shopping in my book too! Just having someone come to the house to care for the pups is a big plus in my book...and her rates sound extremely reasonable too!

Not much on the agenda for today....my friend Betty want's me to haul off a small desk for her....she was going to have me take it to the dump, but since there is nothing wrong with it I told her I would post it for free on FB and probably have it gone before the day is over...if the weather holds I plan to get some pool time in this afternoon...if not...there is always the porch & a book...I'm kind of getting the hang of this relaxing thing....now it's time for more coffee...keep staying safe all!

Good Mid-Morning my Wrqbvit family.

We havw had a really GOOD RAIN here this morning. It has stopped for now and the weather folks said get ready for some REALLY HARD RAIN around 2:00 pm. The flowers and lawn are loving the natural watering. I love that we still haven’t had to water the lawn this season.

Karen….Good for you helping the neighbor list her desk. Hope it sells fast.
Bummer on Florida not growing tasty tomatoes. If I could find a restaurant around here that would put out a BLT sandwich like that picture I’d be there at least on e a week.

Dave: How is Fred doing in his new special spot? I wonder if he scares away any rabbits that might hop by?
I think BB and Bert are suppose to be back home Tuesady. They are going to celebrate Father’s day and their son’s B-Day on Sunday.

Pat: Hope your breathing issues get better. Keep those batteries charged girl.

Lee: How did the nail clipping go? Did you hear any Fog Horns goin off during the rain early this morning?

Finally getting a tad BRIGHTER here right now.

Bill: How you holding up over your way? Is Rita getting discharged this weekend. Tell her we said hello and hope she‘s feeling better.

Not much going on here today.
I’m stripping the beds and putting on clean new sheets. I need to take the comforter to the laundry mat, but I’m dragging my feet on doing that. Maybe in a hour or so.

Need to order a Birthday Cake for Art’s B-Day. We’ll be celebrating it on Sunday along with Father’s Day.
Dave I can’t wait to see what your creative daughters come up with for a gift for you. They always think of something cool.

My brother that lives close by drove to Chicago yesterday with his wife to see my other brother George. They had to make a appt to be able to visit with him in his apartment room for 1.5 hours. I feel bad we haven’t gone to see him lately. I did send some homemade cookies with them. I feel like he’s a prisoner not being able to get well enough to get out of that place. Kind of sad.

Okay….yo7 all have a good day. Time to put the wash i to the dryer.
Be back later.

Time for a quick check in this morning. We may be on vacation, but some things never change with Bert - I had to wake him up at 10:30! I can't complain too much though, as I actually slept for 7 1/2 hours last night. Best sleep I've had in weeks.

Heading over to J&J's once Bert gets his act together. Their daughter is planning to stop by to say hello. She & Brian share the same birthday, but she is older than him. After an afternoon of cards, we're going to an oyster bar that we love here. I've never seen anyone who could shuck an oyster faster than they do at this place.

Surprise, surprise, Bert is almost ready to leave, so I better get off here now. Have a wonderful day, gang, and I'll try to stop by later. :)

Hi everyone. Lots of good gabbing on here today by everyone.
I don’t have a lot to add to anything today.
The Canada / US border is closure has been extended until at least July 21. I wonder if it will ever open like it used to be.
Tomorrow I have to be at The Heart Institute fo 9:00 am. While it shouldn’t be a big deal we all know what happened the last time went for a “routine test”.
Have a wonderful evening my friends.

So I show up and you all go away, except for Lee. Now I know were I stand with this group!! Had a fun day with our friends. We introduced them to BOOM game, Lee. They beat us, but it was good for lots of laughs.
Went to an oyster bar for dinner this evening and I am so stuffed. Now it's time to shut this down and get comfy once again. Tomorrow will be the last day we will see our friends, so I don't know when I might get on here tomorrow.

See you all sometime tomorrow. Have a good night, gang. :) :sleep002::)

Lee: Good luck tomorrow. Hope you have a LIST of things you need to ASK THEM. A list is always good. Shows you're INTERESTED in what's going on with YOUR BODY.
I always walk in with a folder and a pen in my hand and the sheet with questions. Oh and the list of current MEDs. Those nurses have nothing better to do but to ask that question every time you go to the doctors. I'm one up on them by just handing them the list. Ha Ha

We NEVER got the 2:00 pm showers the weather folks kept threatening us with. It's just been muggy here today.

I bought Art a beautiful Birthday Cake and managed to sneak it into the house and into the basement Refrig without him seeing me. Amazing HOW MUCH THE PRICE of CAKES and food in general has gone UP since this dang Pandemic.

Got gas at Costco for $2.85. Kroger's is $3.12 right now. It went down $.08 cents the last day or so.

Okay, I'm out of here. Beds are all changed and have fresh sheets and I even washed the blankets. Love fresh linens.

Be back tomorrow. Have a good Saturday everyone.

Well by-jove the doctor's office FINALLY sent the 2 prescription refill orders to the pharmacy yesterday. What they have been doing with those orders since Monday is anybody's guess.

Speaking of doctors; I sure hope your "routine test" stays routine today, Lee. At least they aren't building a Mexican style border wall to Canada. Ever track down that missing package?

Hey BB, is an "oyster bar" a place where oysters go for a drink?

Any luck in giving away that small desk of your friend's yet. KC? I too hate seeing perfectly good furniture trashed just because they can't find anyone willing to take it.

K2; I see that "really hard rain" never showed up for you yesterday. We too had been warned about the same thing for 2 days, but the most we ever got was a light rain. With periods of sunshine mixed in during the day. The winds shifted and all those bad storms went south of us.

Fred hasn't scared away any animals yet. But it's kind of weird whenever we look out the kitchen window and see his big eyes staring back at us.

2 stops for us today. First to pick up 15 two litre bottles of diet 7-UP at the grocery store. They're on sale for a buck a bottle, but they didn't have a single one when we got all our other groceries on Thursday. I called yesterday and they said that the truck was there, but hadn't been unloaded yet.

Second stop is picking up the prescriptions at Wally World.

With Father's Day tomorrow here's an oddball question for you guys; Is there any song that makes you think of your Dad when you hear it?

Here's one;

Good EARLY Morning. Very HUMID outside and looks like it wants to rain. But most likely is just early. It's suppose to be in the 80's today and nice.

DAVE: We have a Lawn Ornament TURTLE that Jill gifted us with one year that has huge GREEN Reflective EYES. I swear no matter how you place this thing in the flower beds it looks like it's staring right at you. I'll have to snap a picture of it one of these day and post it on here. (I know how you all love pictures)

LEE: So was it anything real important in the MISSING PKG? I always fear that my MEDS from Express Scripts Insurance will get delivered to the neighbor on the next street over with the same "Numbers" as ours. The nice old man that lived at that address, Mr Wells, has passed away and I did go down the year the new couple moved in and explained there would be times I got their MAIL and the would get MY mail. And how Mr Wells and myself use to "Re-Deliver" it to the each other. They seemed like they would do that.
I should be getting about 6 refills next Tuesday, so I'll see if they come to the correct address or not.

The mail is so pitifully slow lately you have to think ahead by a week when mailing things out.

Karen: Do you get Netflix? I started watching a new Series someone from church mentioned to me was good. It's called VIRGIN RIVER. It's not a deep movie series, but it's something to watch right now while most TV series are in RE-RUNS.
Hope that Betty's desk gets sold. I have a front foyer rug that I should try and sell on our neighborhood watch site.

Speaking of neighborhood watch sites. I got a memo that this EMPTY LOT attached to our bank has been sold. GET THIS: Meijer's bought it. Now we all know how HUGE Meijer's stores are. The dang blasted township is going to have us all going nuts over this project. It's in the middle of a nice neighborhood area. Right on 24 Mile Rd and the other 2 lane street called Hayes. How we will EVER get out of our subs once this thing is built will be like a miracle. It's CRAZY as all get out now. Seems like they had a notice about the land and variances requests during the pandemic and it didn't get posted like it usually did since they did the meeting ONLINE with ZOOM. This land has been empty for the 30 some years we have lived here. The thought of a big grocery store, that we DO NOT NEED this close is crazy. We have a Kroger's and a different Meijer's every 2 miles in any direction already. It's OVER-KILL. Getting out of our
subdivision will for sure require going to the traffic light 2 subs away. Crazy.

Okay, I have nothing more to add this morning.
I need to start chopping some veggies and boil some potatoes for the Potato Salad I'm making for the "FATHERS DAY" lunch tomorrow. It's going to be real simple. Nothing like PAT's big spreads. Ha Ha.
I am going to to try and marinate a Skirt Steak and grill it up for "Street Taco's". You make them in small 4" flour taco's. And I bought a small Ham to slice up too.
Birthday cake is bought for the "Birthday Part of the Day".
So now we just have to hope for good weather.

I managed to use some OVEN CLEANER on 2 grates that were rather NASTY with burnt on grease. They look very nice now. They will go over the the BBQ Grates that are rusted and basically falling apart. I'd never put anything directly on those grates now.
I went to our ACE Hdwe yesterday to see about this one SMALL BBQ Grill I had seen there and of course it was SOLD. So that's why I bought the Oven Cleaner stuff and cleaned up the 2 extra grates to use. Seems like everybody is buying NEW GRILLS these days and the stock is like down to nothing.
Same thing goes for new BIKES. We were in our local bike store a few weeks ago and a place that usually has at least 200 bikes up and down the
aisles and hanging from the ceiling racks had about 50 bikes. They told us that the companies just can't find people to WORK and make bikes these days. They all make more money staying home and collecting the government funds. Sure feel bad for all the small independent Mom & Pop shops these days.

Have a fantastic day my friends. Before we know it snow will be flying again. BE back later.

Quick good morning...got one of my friends great grandaughter coming over for a mani/pedi this morning...little Emma just loves coming to get her nails done when she is here visiting "Nonnie"...

Dave, I actually got lucky on the computer desk...which turned out t be a nice desk/hutch combination on wheels....Betty & I got it into the back of my truck while I was on my way to the pool....after I got to the pool I mentioned to my friends there about picking up Betty's desk & Deb piped up & started asking me about it....she went & looked at it & said she'd take it...so after we got done at the pool I dropped it off at her house....it was funny cause if we'd known she wanted it I could have just rolled it up the street from Betty's house...

Catch up with everyone later

Good morning, everyone, and happy Juneteenth! Goodie, another holiday to warm us up for the 4th of July.

Karen - Nice getting rid of that desk so fast. I see you've started another new sideline job giving manis and pedis! Don't forget to put that down on your resume. LOL

Hey BB, is an "oyster bar" a place where oysters go for a drink? Close, Dave, but no cigar. An oyster bar is where you go to drink and eat oysters. Had oysters Rockefeller first and then a dozen steamed oysters. They were by far the biggest oysters I have ever seen! I couldn't even finish them, so Bert & Jeff did that without too much coaxing. Tonight we are going to go light on dinner and just have pizza. Originally we had reservations at a French restaurant, but I suggested pizza instead as my appetite has not been the greatest lately and I would have wasted too much delicious food.

Kathie - You sure were ambitious already today doing bedclothes so early. What time did you get up? Have nice time tomorrow celebration both Father's Day and Art's birthday. We'll be doing the same thing at Brian's house tomorrow.

Lee - I hope all went well with your trip to the Heart Institute. Just that name is scary!

Bill - Has Rita come home yet and if not, when will she finally get home to see your new place?

Some little tidbits about the hotel we are staying at ... No longer do they come in to your room to make the bed and tidy the room up. You have to request room clean up when you want it. I want it today, as the garbage can is getting pretty full and the recycling can is also full. They do a continental breakfast in the morning, but it is over by 9, so we never get to take part in it. There is no pool at this hotel while all those around us have them, not that we were looking for a pool anyway. It's a Fairfield Inn, but older than the one we stayed at the other night. It's still a nice place Motel 6 by a mile!!!

OK That's it for me this morning. Bert's getting ready and we need to put a few things away before we go out today, if we're getting the room cleaned. I better get started on that job.

Have a fantastic Saturday, everyone, but remember not to let your guard down too much! :)

Good afternoon Folks!
The cardiologist was called to the hospital for an emergency this
morning. The tech asked me if I wanted to get the Echo, EKG and the monitor set up today. Well, yes. I was only about an hour from start to finish. Again, now we wait.
And no, the package has not been found. I finally had to tell the supervisor who was giving me any number of excuses that she might be able to fool some of the customers but having retired after 35 years with the Canada Post I had heard them all. I may even invented some of them. It is a Minnie Mouse band for Lu-Ann's Apple Watch.
My group opened up this morning for second shots. Twice I got to the area to input my health card number and twice it came up as I was not eligible. Ive been on hold for almost 40 minutes.
Ya Dave, I wondered if an oyster bar was like a gay bar. You know. Caters to a certain clientele... We don't drink that much soda in a year. Maybe even two! Here's my song by the late Dan Fogelberg who lost a battle with prostate cancer at age 55. It's the sentiment that makes me think of Dad.
View: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lDByv7HoAyg

Great deal getting rid of the desk so quickly Karen. So "Nonnie" are you licensed to practice aesthetician stuff in the state of FL?
Yes Pat, things sure have changed in hotels with COVID. I wonder if hotels will ever get back to simply popping in and tidying like they used to. Even before the pandemic Drury Inns would tidy daily but you had to request clean sheets and towels. If you didn't need them you received extra points on your account.
Kathie, next they will come along and widen the roads to accommodate access to the store. Clearly the person who approved the sale of the property doesn't live in your neighbourhood! Everything that pertains to the home is in short supply here too. Appliances are, ready for this, about 6 months before delivery. BBQ's and the such are in short supply as well. Outdoor furniture is being sold as quickly as the retailer's get it in. And many places can't get people to do "grunt work" like assembly of things from BBQ's to Bikes because they too make more sitting on their arses collecting the Canada Emergency Response Benefit (CERB) than they could if they were doing an honest day's work. I hope that cake doesn't melt in the heat we're expected to get tomorrow! 81F but it will feel like 86F!
I finally got someone to answer the phone! They simply picked up the line to advise me that the system had crashed, everyone was frozen out of the access and please try later or tomorrow. I asked if that could be the reason I was getting the "not eligible" notice. Her professional answer..."Maybe".
On that cheery note, we're off. Katie and Ave need their walks because, horror of horrors, Mom and Dad had other things to do first thing this morning.
You all be good, stay safe, and we'll see you tomorrow!

Happy Father's Day to Dads of 2 or 4 legged kids! Happy first day of summer! And if the weekend didn't have enough going on, Happy belated Juneteenth Day. And let's not forget all the birthdays that will also be celebrated today.

First day of summer, but I keep seeing more and more grocery stores and large tented places in parking lots that yearly sell pretty posies for planting for the summer, and they are packing it up already for another year.

I'm looking forward to seeing a picture of your turtle with the green reflective eyes, K2. How far away from your house is this new grocery store gonna be, K2?

You sure are a lady of many talents KC. Now I know that you also do mani's and pedi's. And I also now know that a little girl has nicknamed you "Nonnie". Any story behind that name? Great job in getting that desk to someone who wants it.

You've got me nosy BB; What would you have ordered if you had gone to that French restaurant? I have no idea what is considered French food other than a lot of bread and wine. Thought of you yesterday when I got the newest Readers Digest in the mail. It had a listing of each state's favorite desert. Florida of course is Key Lime Pie.

Lee; I loved that song that makes you think of your Dad. Speaking of you having trouble getting that second Covid 19 shot; Around here when you get the 1st shot they set up a time and date for you to get the second one. All you've got to do is show up. Hope they fix the "system" soon. At least you've had the first one. If I was one of those people who are still thinking about getting the Covid shots, I'd be spooked by the Delta-variance that is taking over and more dangerous.

We've nothing written in stone today as a gotta-do. So it's a mill around smartly day.
