Had the border not been closed Kathie I likely would have gone over for either Friday or Saturday. I spent many weekends at race tracks in Ontario and MI in my younger days. Ya, I hope the 1/2 pill works.
I still think Karen needs her own show The DIY Network.
Good night my friends.

Sleep well Lee! And as far as negotiating my deck building I project the job will take at least 3 days...at the rate of breakfast, lunch & dinner per day...:)

Kathie, yes I will be using screws to assemble the deck.. and I have a nice new black & decker cordless drill with 3 batteries so I should be good to go...

Checking out for the night...may go relax on the porch a bit before it gets dark

Good Sunday morning, my wonderful cyber family!

In the category of counting my lucky stars; I don't know about you guys but every time I see Biden on the news I have to pinch myself knowing that we no longer have a crazy guy in the White House. I keep thinking to myself, How could you not like this guy?

For some reason, I thought of you when I saw this story on the news, Lee.

Yes, they now make and sell Crocs stilettos. Time for you to upgrade your wardrobe with a pair of high-heeled Crocs.

Good thinking on your part K2 for testing out strawberry picking positions in your kitchen before heading out to a strawberry patch. If you had gone, you surely would have screwed up your knee even worse than it is. Most sports including car racing are better seen on your TV at home and not in person. Although you've got to attend one at least once.

Boy KC, you sure are gutsy taking on building a deck. If I remember right, most decks today are put together with screws and not nails. Can't wait to see pictures of this project in progress.

Thanks for the reminder of where you're heading on Tuesday, BB. Rots of ruck on dealing with Brian's ideas on vaccinating and politics. Now with all these states dropping required mask wearing and distancing from others, it seems there's a jump in colds and flu cases.

Good to hear that Rita is doing much better, Bill. You'll both be in your new home before you know it.

Today Kathi and I are going to be putting up a metal trellis. And picking up some more posies that like to climb them. (Clematis Jackmanii) https://www.gardenia.net/plant/clematis-jackmanii

Good Afternoon Wrabbits.

Speaking of WRABBITS.....we have a few running around our yard and some that live in the shrubs of our next door neighbor.
Well, one of them decided it wanted to CHEW UP my Hungarian HOT Pepper plants. I had a 2" pepper that was doing a good job of growing until yesterday. I hope it liked the HEAT from the HOT PEPPER. :crying:

Pat: Hope you have a nice brunch. We use to have places around here that had nice Sunday Brunches back in the day when things were NORMAL. Haven't seen any this year. Even for Mother's Day. Bummer

DAVE: You'll love that Clematis that you're going to plant. HINT: They like to have their ROOTS well covered to keep the heat off of them.

Karen: I think you have everything you need for the deck job. I'd have Jane hold off on buying any wood just yet. Who knows when the POOL INSTALL guy will actually show up.

LEE: So did BEAR make it through the storm we had last night. YIKES we got some big THUNDER around 1:00 a.m. and the RAIN was beating on the windows. Actually woke me up. Just not the right night to try out the sleeping pills and then having a THUNDER STORM.
Hope you still got some sleep.

We got a INVITE to go to Jill & Marks for burgers. All I need to bring is fresh corn from our Veggie Mkt. I know what we will have for dessert! FRESH PICKED STRAWBERRIES. Jill got up early and went to the local strawberry patch close to their house. She mentioned she would pick some for her Dad and myself. YIPPEE.

You all have a nice afternoon. I'm out of here for now. The temps are still nice here. We actually got to open the back doorwall and let some fresh air in this
morning.

Good morning folks.
I did sleep a tad better last night. That is to say that I wasn't up sitting in the family room for an hour and a half. I did wake up a couple of times but went back to Lala Land. We had a wicked lightening and rain storm pass through which under the influence of my "sleeping aid" I thought was a dream.
Funny you should mention crocs Dave. I took a trip downstairs and put my winter ones away and got out my psychedelic pair! No stiletto's but very summery.
Enjoy that brunch at The Grille Pat! You better let them know that you're away for a bit so they don't send out the hounds looking for you.
Screws are the way to go for decks and fences Karen! If you need to replace a board or remove a section it can be done in the blink of an eye. Smart to work for food. That way you don't have to declare the income on your taxes. ;)
You just popped in Kathie. Yes, Lu-Ann said that Bear did pretty well last night. He's never as bad if there is no thunder. Burgers and corn! There's a perfect summer meal. Enjoy. I forgot race tracks I visited in New York and Quebec! Maybe next year a trip to Belle Isle will be on my radar. As will a trip to the Detroit Auto Show And the Woodward Dream Cruise.
Looks like lunch is just about ready. Nothing exciting. Peppers (one of them a hot one that a bunny brought us), cucumber some dips and crackers.
You fine people all have a great rest of your Sunday.

Back from brunch which was delicious, as usual. Good thing we came home when we did, as it is raining out there now. Plus we are getting t&l just for good measure. And already it is almost over! That's not going to help all our dry and dying lawns.

Lee - Glad the meds helped a bit. I'm sure on a "normal" night you will get even better results to get you back to your old sleep pattern. By the way, our favorite server knows we will be away for the next week. She wanted to come with us. Sorry about her luck!

Karen - Sounds like you will be getting a good deal making that deck. Gives new meaning to that sign the panhandlers hold - WILL WORK FOR FOOD! At least you mean it. Using screws will definitely make make the deck stronger than just nailing it together. Can't wait to see pictures of how it turns out.

Kathie - Hamburgers & corn on the cob! My idea of the perfect summertime meal and then to top it off with fresh strawberries. Couldn't get any better. Our friend at the brunch showed us a picture of a huge bowl of strawberries that she picked out of her garden today. She's getting to pick the same amount every day, as the plants are what is called "ever blooming" strawberries. We used to get the same amounts each day, when we had strawberries in NJ. The soil is perfect for them, just as it is for Jersey corn and tomatoes.

Dave - I agree with you about Joe Biden and what a wonderful president he is and has it so over that POS he defected. I don't get it how some of these people are calling Biden the worst president in 100 years and that he has done nothing since he got in office. Huh? What the heck rock have they been hiding under while they watch faux news? The there the My Pillow guy who is running MAGA rallies with about 10,000 people showing up. They are all a bunch of sickos and totally disgust me. By the way - Brian and his wife are also republicans, as are J&J. We've learned to not talk politics with J&J many years ago. At least they had no problem getting the vaccine.

Just got a call from Gary to make sure I am still making dinner tonight and to let us know Elaine's oldest son and his girl friend probably also will be coming. Good thing I'm making a big pan or 2 of turkey pot pie.

Time to get a few last things done for our trip and then just take it easy for a while. Enjoy the rest of your afternoon and I will try to stop back later. :)

Good Monday morning Bunnies!

So much for easily picking up those purple Clematis purple posies yesterday. Turns out the pandemic came up with all sorts of shortages, and flowers was one of them. We had to go to 3 places to find the purple ones. I was out of gas after the second one so Kathi took one of the granddaughters with her. So getting the trellis up and posies planted got backed up till today.

Should be dry for the next 3 days, so getting the stuff in the ground shouldn't be a problem.

So pleased to hear that the 1/2 a sleeping pill worked for you Lee. What's this "Woodward Dream Cruise"?

K2; I'm surprised a rabbit would bite into a hot pepper. Hope he got the "squirts". I'm with you on KC holding off on buying any wood for Jane's pool deck until the pool is actually been installed. Height and other dimensions may be different from what they think they'll need as of now. And if it only takes 3 days to make the deck, they'll need at least that long for the water to warm up.

You are so right BB that the pillow-guy is a wacko. As are most promoters and die-hard Buffoon worshipers. If you are hitting the road on Tuesday, give yourself a day off today.

Well before I head outside it's time for a goofy breakfast. Goofy even by my standards. You'd think I was turning into a vegetarian. Hot wings, but only 2 legs. Angel hair cole slaw with 1,000 island dressing on it. A few green seedless grapes, along with a couple slices of an apple, some radishes, a few slices of a cucumber, 1/2 a banana, and yes some strawberries.

A heads up on Stephen Colbert; He's going back to a in-studio and a live audience tonight.

Good Morning Wrabbits.

Got ANOTHER Thunder Buster late last night (or early this morning) depending on how you look at it. Anyways, everything is watered and GREEN. Temps are in the mid-65's right now. WHAT A CHANGE from the last few days.
We haven't had to water with the sprinkler system yet this season. But if the Township sent out WATER BILLS today I can bet our water bill would STILL BE HIGH. I think they just PAD the BILL when it's HOT even if you don't use that much water.

Lee: Sure hope if you got the same 'thunder/rain' we got last night that BEAR made it through the night okay. How did you do? The BOOMER woke me up, but I managed to go back to sleep. And hope you got some good sleep last night.

USELESS INFORMATION TIME:
Did you folks know that all 50 States are listed on the back of a $5 dollar bill at the top of the Lincoln Memorial on the back of the bill. I counted only 26-27, but maybe they are around the sides we don't see. You'll need a magnifying glass to see them. I did see "Michigan"!!

Our BBQ was YUMMY yesterday. The corn was so crunchy and fresh and the Burgers were perfect. Pasta Salad was good too. Fresh Strawberry Shortcake was a real hit! Nice to get invited over the kids house for sure.

I guess I'll have to do Father's Day this coming Sunday! We'll make it a Father's Day - Art's Birthday combo celebration. And then we're done with special days for awhile. Whew!

You know you're OLD when your daughter announces that she is RETIRING from her job in a few weeks. She's been with the company for 28 years. Just said ENOUGH is ENOUGH. Too much has changed and she said it's time to think about "HERSELF". She actually has a part-time job already lined up. Went for a interview last week and they were glad to have when she's ready. I told her that's not what I call RETIREMENT! She said it is compared to being a Dietician. I can only wish her the best. She's a fantastic person.

Okay, I'm out of chatter for now. Be back later. Enjoy your day.
We're suppose to get on and off showers through the day. Right now it's SUNNY outside.

Awww Kathie, so sorry to hear about Nick's passing...I know he lived a long full life...but I was sure rooting for him to make it to 100...Hugs & Prayers to you & his family!

Not much going on around here today....we finally got some rain yesterday afternoon/evening....we needed it! Course it messed up the plan to go to the pool when Barb got off work...but life happens...

Trust me ya'all....we won't even be buying a scrap of wood let alone start building the deck until the pool is up & ready to go! #1 because I know I need to double check the height for the deck & #1 A there is a better than average chance this guy won't show up either...but hopefully I'll be wrong on that...
Going over to Jane's for a cookout later this evening...Amanda & co are leaving tomorrow so this will be my last chance to say good-bye...it was another short visit, but good to see them while it lasted...

Kathie - Sorry to hear the news about old Nick. But look at it this way - To live to be 99 years old is still pretty rare and that's a life that should be celebrated, not mourned. I know how highly you thought of Nick and feel your pain at his pasing. Hugs & prayers to you and his family.

Dave - A day of rest before our trip? You have got to be kidding me. I have a doctor's appointment at 1. From there we are driving to Orlando so Bert can pick up some White Castles for a surprise for his buddy Jeff. Then we need to come home and pack while we gather up everything else that needs to come with us. I am sure to be exhausted, but hope to still be awake to at least watch Stephen Colbert's monolog.

Karen - Enjoy the cookout later. I hope it doesn't rain and mess things up. I'm glad you're getting in one more visit with Amanda and company. So when are you planning to go visit them again. I'm sure that has or will be addressed before they leave.

Our dinner last night was really good. We ended up with 2 extras here for dinner - Elaine's oldest son and his girl friend. They were taking Elaine's 2 other son's back to Melbourne with them for the week, so we sent all the leftovers, and there were plenty, with them. They boys will do a good number on it!

That's about it from me for now. I'll be back later and let you know how I made out at the doctor. In the meantime, have a wonderful day, everyone! :)

Thank you all for the kind words regarding Dear NICK. You all are the best.

I got the results of my MRI. You have to love when you get the test done at the big hospital and they put it in your “records” right away. Modern technology at it’s best. Any body that doesn’t sign up for this tracking of all your tests is missing out on fast results. Hat’s why I like to have blood work done there too. It’s all goes on my records and any doctor that orks through that hospital can see my chart.

Any ways…..I have a “high-grade radial type TEAR of the Medial Meniscus.
I knew this was hurting for a reason.

I was able to get my Thursday appt changed to TOMORROW (Tuesday).
I just have a feeling that Nicks funeral might be Thursday. I didn’t want to take a chance. Got lucky to be able to SWITCH dates.
We’ll see what the doc has to say.

Very pleasant here today. Cooler, party sunny and the chances for more showers looks good. We’re at about 75F.

Off to rest my leg.

Hugs and prayers going out to you Kathie and Nick’s family. I think we will all miss your stories about visiting Nick, the treats you always made for him and what an all around decent man he was.
Good for Jill getting out of the full time rat race. I don’t know of anybody who, once retired, says ”Geez I wish I’d worked longer at a job that wasn’t satisfying and fun anymore.” You just updated
us on your test results. Any idea on treatment for a tear like that?
Sounds like you have a real plan there Karen. Well thought out for sure. You should see what The Master’s line is on this guy showing up. Enjoy your time with family this evening.
My question would be if the leftovers actually made it all the way home Pat. You know young people and their appetites. You and Bert drive safe tomorrow, ya hear!
Dave, The Woodward Dream Cruise has taken place on Detroit’s Woodward Ave for, I think, over 60 years. Here’s a link to the event…
http://www.woodwarddreamcruise.com/
Kathie put me (us?) on to it a while back. I think Art and Eric are regular attendees.

I was out of gas after the second one
Did you have to call AAA for more gas? :p
I have to call a couple of Doc’s to let them know I have another medication in my system. Which, it would seem, gave me 7 1/2 hours of sleep last night.
Tomorrow afternoon we take the pups for heartworm tests. 13 year young Bear is getting a full check up as we’re getting more concerned about his health.
You all be good. Again, safe travels Momma Bunny.

Lee: I'll miss telling all the NICK stories too. Losing all these life-long friends lately is just horrible.

7.5 hours of sleep. Goodness you'll be running all over the place today. Remember to PACE yourself.
Not sure what the treatment will be for my knee. I'll be sure to let you know after the appointment on Tuesday. I've googled and read up on it and there are many options. I just want the PAIN GONE.

Pat: Like Lee mentioned you and BERT take your time driving to NC. It seems like people have forgotten how to drive. Keep in touch with us please.

Out of here for now. Amazing how 77F is CHILLY after you were in the 90's. Brrrr. Ha ha.

Well, today turned out to be an only partially successful day. Trip to the doctor to see a substitute pulmonologist was a complete waste of my time! This guy game in introduced himself and asked what I was there for. I explained about having s bit of congestion but mainly that I was havin a problem with my breathing and that I was having to use oxygen all the time. He listened to my heart and lungs and told me all I needed was a mild antibiotic
(Z-pak). He wouldn't give me prednisone and said my regular meds will take care of the problem, which I said they are not. He told me to take it up with my regular doctor at my next appointment. I also brought up about only sleeping about 4 hours a night. That too he said to tak eup with my regular doctor. Like I said, totally useless.

The successful part of the day was that we went to While Castle this afternoon. We would never have done it, except Bert wanted to bring some to Jeff. He bought him 30 of them!!! It took us 75 minutes to get through the line. All I can say is that Jeff better appreciate what his friend went through for him!!

Now I have to get to work, if we're going to get out of here tomorrow morning. We still have to pack and figure out what all needs to go with us that I might need to breathe & get around. Ugh! What a pain.

So on that note I am going to say good night, Not sure when I'll get to check in, maybe Wednesday or Thursday. It depends on how tired I am Wednesday night. In the meantime take care and I want to tell you that I will be missing you all like crazy!:emoticon 0115 inlove::emoticon 0152 heart::sign bye::emoticon 0115 inlove:

PAT: Sorry about the WASTE of TIME doctor visit. We all get to do that every so often.

Now tell us......just how are you going to keep those White Castle Hamburgers from going bad until you get to Jeff's house??? Do you have a cooler you can pack them in and put ICE in plastic bags over them with a towel in between maybe?? Good luck with that.

Maybe you could keep them in the freezer until you leave tomorrow and then do the cooler & ice.

Praying for a safe drive. Take your time and do plenty of stops to stretch your feet.

Pat, safe travels to you & Bert....enjoy your visit with J&J and Brian & Family....smart move having a motel of your own to retreat too...the older I get the more I find family is best enjoyed in small doses...I love'em...but I love "my own space" too!

Catch up with you all in the morning!

So sad to hear of the passing of Nick, K2. He looked so good in the pictures you have posted. But you knew something was up when relatives came from the west coast to visit him. Now that you know that there's a tear in your knee, I wonder of the doctors will still blame the brace.

Good call on holding off on buying any wood for the deck until the pool is in place, KC. No telling how even the landscaping will effect your calculations. "the older I get the more I find family is best enjoyed in small doses...I love'em...but I love "my own space" too!' SO TRUE.

How many White Castle hamburgers did Bert eat before he gave what was left to his friend, BB? I've forgotten what time you leave for your trip today. That substitute pulmonologist sounds incompetent by pushing you off to other doctors.

Now it makes sense, Lee. It's a car cruise-in and not a cruise on a ship. Hot diggety dog on how well your sleeping pill is working. Have you upped it to a full pill?

Kathi and I got our new trellis up yesterday and planted the new climbing posies under it. Some of the vines were long enough to already reach it. We had to dig out some other posies, that have been there for years, to put this trellis where we wanted it. The older posies we replanted along the side of the house.

Figures, when we went to water the plants a hose that isn't even a year old blew a hole in it when we turned the water on. We replaced it with a more heavy duty 75 foot one. And also a larger diameter.

Had to laugh yesterday during a news show. One of the anchors asked the other one what he wanted for Father's Day. His answer; "A shot of whiskey and to be left alone."

I think that's what most fathers want.
