Good morning & Happy Father's Day to all the Dad's here...whether your kids have 2 legs or 4 you always take the best care of them possible! Here is my song that reminds me of my Dad...he spent his whole life doing one form or another of manual labor so his hands had quite a story too...

I need to clear up the "Nonnie" chatter..."I'M" not the Nonnie...my friend Deb is...I guess the name is something
Italian for grandma or just a nickname her grandkids came up with...anyhow...I'm just Miss Karen with all the cool nail polish...

Dave, check your calendar again...you still have 1 more day of Spring...tomorrow is the 1st day of summer...and also Samantha's 16th birthday...hard to believe that one!!

Kathie, please wish Art a very Happy Birthday from me! Sounds like a fun father's day/birthday party you have planned!

Lee, sorry you haven't had the best of luck with the medical profession lately...sure hope you get on the schedule soon for the 2nd shot...I get mine on Thurs. we are at the stage here where we don't even need an appt. just walk in....I will get there when they first open just to have it over & done with

Pat, sounds like you are having a pretty nice visit with family & friends in NC....is the humidity any better there than it is here? It's been pretty bad here the last few days....had some rain last night too..

Managed to get some pool time in yesterday afternoon...it was pretty over cast for most of the time...but just as we were ready to get out it cleared off nice & the sun stayed out... I got to be the first person to ride in Tom's new car...he just got a 2019 BMW convertible...the man never keeps a car for more than a yr or 2...I don't know why he doesn't just lease a car instead of going thru all the hassle of buying one...but he does...anyhow this car is SWEET!! He had the top down & that thing rides like a dream....I'm to cheap to ever spend that kind of money on a car....but it's nice having friends who do!:)

Now I need to get a few things done around here...the plan is to go swimming this afternoon when Barb get's off work..."IF" it isn't raining.....enjoy your special day guys, you deserve it!!!

Good Morning and HAPPY FATHER'S DAY to some of the nicest men I know with either 2-legged or 4-legged children! Enjoy your special day.

Lee - Sorry you're having a problem getting your second shot, but at least you're pretty well covered with the first one. When will you get the results of all those tests you had done yesterday?

Kathie - Wish Art a happy birthday from us too. Today is Brian's birthday, so it will be fun celebrating both his birthday & Father's Day at the same time. We'll head in that direction once Bert wakes up and gets his act together.

Karen - You're right about "Nonnie" being a special version of grandmother in Italian, just like we say Grandma as the shortened version. It is very humid here and the allergies are running high. I'm glad I made sure at the last minute to take the allergy pills. Very cloudy here right now with a good chance of some storms today from that tropical depression coming up from the Gulf.

Dave - I'll tell you what I would order at a French restaurant- Escargot (snails) to start the Beef Bourguignon as the entre and end the meal with Creme Brulee. All washed down with a nice bottle of wine. Any more questions? By the way, the pizza we had instead sucked! I don't know how they could call that good pizza. I guess they've been away from NJ too long and have forgotten what good pizza tastes like. Bert totally agreed with me about the pizza.

Probably won't have a chance to get on here tonight, as once we get back to this room, it's going to be time to pack up all our stuff so we will be ready to hit the road bright and not too early (after 8:30-9:00) once rush hour is over. We'll see how far we get heading home before we stop for the night, but I'm not going to unpack the computer. So next time you hear from me, we'll be back home snug in our home, God willing.

On that note, it's time to wake Bert up and get this day started. have a wonderful day, everyone, and once again HAPPY FATHER'S DAY!!! :)

Hey there Dad's! Happy Father's Day. A Father's Day which could have been much different had the doc not listened to her "Spidey Senses" and sent me for the tests.
After trying a number of times to
book my second shot online as early as 5:30 this morning I was on the phone spot on 8:00. A delightful young lady by the name of Isabelle was getting the same "not eligible" message. She confirmed my info and over rode the system. I get my second jab Monday June 28. :D
Karen, another touching song by an artist that w as taken from us far too soon. Sounds like you enjoyed feeling the wind in your hair cruising the streets in Tom's Beemer!
You have a busy day ahead of you Kathie. Happy Father's Day Birthday to Art. Bummer. Less presents because they are both the same day.
Some of the Health Units did schedule a second shot when you got the first Dave. Ours did not. We were supposed to get called with a date and time. As more vaccine became available people jumped on the earlier spots. My second should have been in August so I'm happy with June! Did you manage to get all of the soda you were after?
Good morning Pat! Safe travels tomorrow, eh? Does your departure mean that you'll be able to hit the hotel breakfast before you head out? Always grab a couple of "road muffins". IF you're like Lu-Ann and I we always seem to want something to nibble on after we leave and before lunch. ;)
To Dave's point, many of the garden centres and pop up garden centres around here have little or nothing left. A couple of the roadside guys still seem to have a good supply of nice looking hanging baskets and pots. they must have a good supplier.
After my covid call we headed down to The Navy Yard with the pups. It was already over 70F and felt warmer so it was good to get Katie and Ava out for an early walk.
So, that's about it from balmy Amherstburg!
You all stay safe and socially distanced from strangers!

Good Morning and again….Happy Father’s Day to all of you fine guys!

Lee: Yippee…on getting that 2nd vaccine on the 28th.
Hope you get good results from all the tests. You just have to roll with the punches buddy. Easier said than done.
And what a beautiful day for a walk in the park. Good you went early. It’s already YUCKY outside. Humid as all get out after the rain. But we needed that rain big time.

Karen: How fun a ride in a BMW and a convertible to boot. Nice having neighbor/friends like that. Loved your video song. Touching. :emoticon 0152 heart:

Glad you are getting your 2nd vaccine. Better to be safe than sorry. Your Sisters should get the shots too. Hate to see anybody I know get that DELTA STRAIN of the virus. I guess all of us who have been vaccinated are pretty much protected from getting the Delta strain.
I’m going to wish I had a swimming pool to jump into later today. It’s already SUNNY and HOT and HUMID outside. Hope you can get into the pool today.

Pat/Bert: You might not see this until you get home, but have a fun day with Brian and his family and safe travels home.

Bill/Rita: We could use a update on what’s going on over your way. Don’t be strangers. Hope Rita is either home or almost home. Wishing you bothnthe best.

Art’s BIRTHDAY is Thursday, June 24th. We’re just celebrating it today since the kids and Mark & Jill all work then. Hate to drag them back again On Thursday night. This works out fine for all us.
Thanks for all the Birthday wishes….I’ll be sure to pass them on to Art.

I think we might be eating INSIDE this Afternoon. One it’s muggy outside and two they are calling for a rain shower later around 4-5:00 pm. Right whe we will be trying to eat. Oh well, less walking back and forth for limpy me. Ha ha.

DAVE: I’ll try and get that picture of the Turtle on here. I forgot!

Be Back later.
My break is over for now. I have to clean one more bathroom and then take a shower. Gotta look good for the COMPANY! Ha ha.

ENJOY YOUR DAY ALL YOU DAD’s.

Hey Dave, Lu-Ann wants to play the Father's Day song game too...

Kathie, I think that Jill should do all the running back and forth for you today. When is it that Jill. retires? It's quite muggy here as well feeling like 89F! Our rain and storms are scheduled for 9:00.
Karen, the e-greeting card company I use always sends out reminders a week in advance. The other morning the reminder was for Tony.
OK kids, be good! As I understand it, it's wine o'clock.

Karen: I too remember Tony’s B-Day being the day after Art’s. Wish he was still with us snd his family.

Lee: Jill and the kids were good helpers today. Our poor Mark showed me his MRI of his spine. Unreal bulging disk jabbing into his nerve. He needs surgery ASAP. HE ‘a in line to get it done as soon as they can fit him in. We both got to avoid a lot of kitchen work today.
We have T-STORM WARNINGS coming across the TV screen. Wide spread until 1:00 am.

Dave: Here comes the Turtle picture and the Frog had to get in it too. And some flower pics! 0E63E4C2-DB25-4D0B-9153-3AB254BBC6E5.jpegAF949739-69CB-443E-BF78-9EE29BF28E07.jpeg3CB85220-BBB2-4EA5-A5EB-FEC6EA190014.jpeg12B472F7-C2F7-4E2D-BD4D-D290547BAD90.jpeg

You have such a lovely yard Kathie!

Pat, safe travels home for you & Bert...glad you were able to check in from the hotel...we miss you when you aren't here....hope that "Claudette" doesn't give you any problems on the way back home

Time to call it a night from Belleview...Barb came over after work today for some pool time...it was pretty over cast...but no rain...then as we were leaving the pool it started to clear up a little...
The plan for tomorrow is to mow Jane's back yard in the morning "IF" it isn't raining...

Yes Kathie I have to agree with Karen. Your gardens are stunning!
It would have been a good pool day here to Karen. No rain until a few minutes ago. And it could last into the wee small hours of the morning.
Good night friends.

Thanks Karen & Lee for the kind words about the garden. Good thing I planted everything before I screwed up my knee. Ha ha.

Good Monday morning Bunnies.

Lots of great reading on here yesterday. Plus songs and pictures. They all are appreciated.

And normally I'd make some comments about them, but I don't have the time this morning. In just a bit one of our grandsons will be here for a few hours. How old is he? You're asking the wrong guy. 12-13 maybe. Autistic but very nice. And has a fascination with different kinds of soda pops. Almost every shirt he wears has the picture of some brand of pop.

Kathi looked it up and found a recipe for white cake that is made with a bottle of pop as part of the ingredients. So sitting here is a bottle of A & W Root Beer. He likes to help his mom bake, so Kathi and him will make this soda pop cake together. Then maybe take Fuzzbutt for a walk, and lunch.

Ya'll be good.

Good morning.
Well Kathie, wasn't that some storm! It started raining here about 9:00 pm. We got an emergency alert at 10:16 last night for a tornado watch! Talking to one of our friends that see at The Navy Yard this morning and he said it was the worst storm he could remember. We had lightening, thunder and rain until about 5:30 this morning. We tried to keep Bear on his CBD oil and it did seem to help a bit.
Dave, that's so cool that you and Kathi are not only taking care of your grandson but also planning an activity that will appeal to him. Cracker Barrel makes a really good chocolate Coca Cola cake. We've tried it couple of times.
When we got back from our walk I asked Lu-Ann to leave the van in the driveway so I could get my little batter powered blower out and "sweep" the garage floor. Usually I would take a hose and broom to it but, well, you all know. the rest of the story!
Lu-Ann is off to the doc for a follow up on her stress test. I'm willing to bet that my name will come up and I'll be getting a call.
Safe travels Pat and Bert!
I'll be back at some point. We're starting our Monday games day again this afternoon. I think that we have a game that we can play sitting around Jan and Dave's while keeping a little distance between everyone. I'm the only one that hasn't got both shots. YET.
Stay safe everyone and cherish the day. No matter what it brings.

Good Afternoon Wrabbits. I slept until 8:30 am this morning. Must have needed that extra sleep after last nights storm.

Lee: You seem to have gotten more rain than we did. Must be because you're so close to the water. Glad you, Lu-Ann and pups made it through it. Art said the creek crested up to the garden area. That's a lot of water. He took the hose down to the creeks edge where all his Hosta's plants and other things are planted. He had to hose the MUD that came through with the flood water. It's all receding now and if you didn't know it stormed you'd never see the difference. I can bet that there were lots of big trees in some of the older neighborhoods that took a beating.

Hope that Lu-Ann's stress test comes back okay.

Lee are you released to be able to drive or does Lu-Ann do all the driving now? Just wondering. I would think you could drive by now.

I got 4 out of 5 of my prescription renewals in the mailbox this morning. Amazing. Now to investigate what's holding up the last med. Always something to keep me busy.

DAVE: So did you see the TURTLE??
Nice that you and Kathi (mostly Kathi) take such good interest in the grandkids. I hope the parents appreciate what you do.

We have a nice assortment of left-overs here for either lunch or dinner .....or both. Nice not to have to worry about cooking.

So, Jill sent me a text telling me she GAVE HER NOTICE and it wasn't as hard as she thought it was going to be. She said that her 2 best friends cried when she was able to tell them she was leaving in 2 weeks. Jill is a sensitive girl and I know that had to be hard to tell her friends. Can't wait until later to talk to her about just how it went. I bet it feels like a load off her shoulders after 28 yrs.
Our Choir directress retired from teaching elementary school after 30 yrs this June. She too just burned out. She said she learned that she had more SKILLS after having to do ZOOM teaching for most of the year. She and her husband do not have any children and she said she doesn't have to work and will take break and if something comes her way she'll consider it. I'm proud of both of these girls for thinking of THEMSELVES a little. Things change in life and it's nice to know they will be changing with them.

Hope our Mama Wrabbit PAT (and Bert) are having a SAFE drive back home. We left the light on for them.

Out of here for now. Be good and stay safe. Lord knows we don't need the DELTA STRAIN of Covid to hit our Hutch.

Have A Good Day GIF

Good afternoon.
We played a fun card game called Phase 10 this afternoon. So nice to play in person again.
Lu-Ann’s test didn’t come up with anything nasty but Dr. Silvaggio is sending her for an MRI to check one little thing.
Ya, driving. The surgeon ”asked” me not to drive until I saw her 8 weeks after my procedure. Her office is supposed to call me. That was 10 weeks ago. The rule of thumb seems to be 6 to 8 weeks. As she didn’t “suspend” my license I feel that I can and should be driving. I will be driving in to Windsor Wednesday morning to pick up my friend who is dropping his truck in for service.
We just got a ton of rain last night. At least we didn’t have to hose mud off our plants.
I suspect we ought feed the dogs…

Lee: Hope all will be good with Lu-Ann's MRI. Seems we're all doing a lot of those lately.
It was amazing to see Mark's MRI of his spine yesterday. Leaves NO DOUBT at all that he is in need of some back surgery ASAP. Poor guy is really hurting when he tries to sit down.

About you driving. I think most doctors tell you that you can resume driving (CAREFULLY) after 6-8 weeks after surgery. You know what your body is telling you.....listen to it.
I think they just want to be sure you don't hurt yourself or your chest on the steering wheel if you had to come to a quick stop.
Be careful driving to Windsor. Traffic is a ^%&*( driving anywhere.

It looks and feels like NOVEMBER outside right now. Actually, it's been like that all day. :emoticon 0106 crying: Just hate when the weather turns backwards so quickly.

Hope you all had a good day. Time for me to take a Tylenol and get back to BINDGE WATCHING the series: "Virgin River" on
Netflix.

Catch up with you tomorrow.

Welcome HOME Pat & Bert. WOW.....long drive! Glad you guys made it back safely.

I just got through "Binge" watching "Virgin River" on Netflix. It was a 'easy going' type series. And the next episodes don't start up until July 9th. They left it at a typical cliffhanger ending. Not sure I'll start watching it again until the next series is ALL DONE. So much easier to just BINGE watch than wait for a weekly show.

Sure isn't much of anything on TV to watch.

Dropping the
here in Macomb! :)

Our grandson showed up in a 7-Up logo-ed T-shirt, also wearing a 7-Up logo-ed pair of socks, and yes while here drank a 7-Up. The A&W root beer cake turned out quite good. It turned a cake from white to a medium brown, and it did taste like root beer. He seemed to like the cake better than the Cool-Whip icing. (Unusual for a kid.)

You say you can and should be driving Lee, but what is Lu-Ann's opinion.

It's good to hear you're getting more walks in. Building up your body slowly and carefully. And to think that just a few weeks ago you probably weren't allowed to even lift up that leaf blower. My idea of a walk is more of a stroll with a beverage in one hand.

K2; You and Lee sure got a lot more rain and storm than we did. We've been lucking out lately with serious storms bypassing us, even though initially we were dead center in its' path.

Yes I did see the picture of the turtle. Cute. But I'd bet a lot that the frog caught Kathi's eye first. With all the shrubs and flower beds I'm guessing that you must spend quite a bit of time weeding. Any birds ever make a home out of that birdhouse?

Did you get to that mowing at Jane's house KC? That word "IF" it doesn't rain effects a lot of my projects too.

I see that you snuck back into your corner of the hutch, BB. It's always nicer to sleep in our own beds. But it sucks bringing all the dirty clothes back from a trip.

My goal today is to get out the hedge trimmer and trim up a few of the bushes. They've been on a fast growing spurt lately. Since bending over is the worst position for my back I make sure to have a chair right by me and sit down frequently and only do a few bushes at a time. If I don't, I'll be hurting for days.

Almost no chance of rain today and a real cool down. Only getting into the mid 60's.

Well now, it’s about 48F here right now. We’ll be lucky to see 70F today. But it’s sunny.
Thanks for letting us know that you’re home safe and sound Pat. How late do you reckon Bert will sleep this morning?
I have done a couple of short drives Kathie. Like walking, I HAVE to get back on track. As many of us can attest back pain is the worst! Poor Mark. Is he scheduled for surgery?
You nailed it Dave. Lu-Ann is a little (over?) protective of my recovery. But I know not to push things. Which is very hard sometimes. Pushing me will be for the cardiac rehab program. You know your limits for walks, yard work and so on. I think for us guys it’s sometimes harder to accept that we’re not 20 any more and need to work smarter.
So Karen, did the big “IF” come into play for getting the grass done for Jane?
A few chores before I head to the urologist’s this afternoon. Like you pointed out Kathie, seems all some of us do lately is support the medical profession.
I do hope that all of you have an amazing Tuesday!
Be careful out there.
