Return of the Cruising Bunny's....

Good morning from a very soggy Amherstburg.
Yesterday’s toilet quest got the thumbs down from the builder. Their interpretation of what the new home warranty covers and mine differ. I may contact Tarion, the company who oversees all new homes on behalf of Ontario, to get their interpretation.
Karen, I hope you’re feeling even better today. I get jabbed Monday and it looks like after Pfizer for the first one, due to supply chain issues, I’ll get Moderna this time. I think l’ll take a Tylenol with me and pop it when I get out. Good luck to Jane on finding a reliable installer.
Great update on Rita, her reaction to your new home and, well, everything Bill. It’ll sure be easier on you having your fine lady home.
There have been lots of fog horns over the past couple of mornings, evenings and during the day as well Kathie. I’m hoping you and Art have a distinct one on The Ark so we know when you’re coming down the river. I’m assuming that because your vessel is The Ark, it is pet friendly. Sorry to hear about your knee thingy being postponed. Has Art started to call you ”Festus” yet after the character on Gunsmoke?
Good to know things went well with your procedures Dave. Ya, this toilet which we didn’t choose, has two buttons on the top. One for “number one” (less water) and one for “number two” (more water). No good old change me in 5 minutes flapper valve. After I couldn’t find the part I needed anywhere I simply epoxied the suspect part in place so it works.
As mischievous and annoying as pets can be Pat, they always have a way to show you how important you are to them. Our friend Joyce who lives in Anthony, FL echoed what you said about increased prices, shortages and “hoarding” of some products. Yes, those cotton candy grapes have a really great flavour. As I recall they were pricier than red or green grapes but well worth it!
Time to try to feed the pups between the rains. Katie and Ava will eat but it’s a hope Bear will.
Have a good and safe day my friends!

Good Morning. Well, it finally stopped raining.... FOR NOW. Rained into the middle of the night. The CREEK went way up the banks and left a line to remind us just where it ended up.
Right now it's THE MUGGIEST IT'S BEEN THIS SEASON. As they say "you can cut it with a knife" outside. :emoticon 0101 sadsmile:

Lee: Nice to know the pups will get a walk in this morning. I bet the water is HIGH by the park. You'll have to let us know if the park is flooded or if they have good drainage there.

DAVE: So good to hear that your procedure went well. Nice that they CHECK for any Blood Clots that might be hanging on before they ZAPPED you. Now take it easy today. Give that heart a chance to get use to pumping in rhythm again.

Karen: Hope you got a good nights sleep girl. And all the best to Jane in finding a pool installer. This entire project is starting to be a "NIGHTMARE" and it hasn't even gotten started.

Negc: Hope both you and Rita got a good nights sleep. How was the neighborhood get-together? Are you getting any of this awful rain yet? I know it's pretty WIDE-SPREAD. Don't over-due the running around. Tell Rita to PACE herself.

Pat: Thanks for posting the pics of M&J's house construction area. Nice to see the cement blocks delivered and getting into place. I see the house next door has their walls started. Have they seen their new neighbors yet. Scary not knowing who is moving in next door!

I got a call from the hair salon at 7:15 a.m. They had some flooding in the bldg and wanted to know if I could come in 1/2 hour later. SURE can....so glad they didn't cancel. The area where their salon is always has had trouble with flooding streets. Even when we lived on that side of town when I was a kid. Hope the freeway isn't flooded that I use to get there.

Okay, folks...........you all have a nice day. I'll be back later.

Have A Good Day GIF

Well I’m sitting here with Goop on my hair for color and I have to tell you they had major flooding on the streets around here. Cars in the muddy grass on the center medium. They were pulling them out with huge tow trucks. Good thing it wasn’t on the side of the street I was on! Whew.
I saw all kinds of flooding before I got onto the freeway. Unreal how much rain we got. It’s sprinkling outside right

Okay, you all enjoy your afternoon.

Our hair places can FINALLY open on June 30th Kathie. Lu-Ann has been trying to get through to Ambiance but so far with no luck! The Navy Yard wasn't all that wet. The biggest thing we are facing right now is the annual influx of Mayflies. We call them fish flies around here because they stink like fish! Literally 1000's of them everywhere!
The weather lady said last night that the humidity here for the next few days was "So thick you can wear it!"
See you later.

Good afternoon, gang! Another crappy on again off again rainy day here by us. After another night where I was awake for at least 3 hours, I finally fell back to sleep and didn't wake up until about 10:00 where there was bright sun outside. since then, it's been going all downhill and the rains are getting ready to move in once again. There goes my lunch at the Grille! Bet I don't get to Aldi's or Dollar Tree either.

G&E are coming for a salmon dinner tonight, but with only 1 of her boys - the 16 year old. Good that it's him as he has a great appetite. For what the salmon cost even at Sam's it needs to get eaten. Plus we have half a pizza to devour over the next few days. After today, there'll be no cooking for me for a few days!

Dave - Glad all went well with your procedures yesterday. It makes sense that they'd look for blood clots before the zapped you to get your heart beating like it should.
Air traffic controller's school ... How the heck many different jobs did you have over the years?

Lee - Nice to know that the Navy Yard didn't get all flooded. I bet your girls were very happy to go for a walk while the old man took it easy. I so love the sound of fog horns, but we sure don't hear them here. It's such a mournful sound, but very soothing at the same time.

Kathie - Sorry to hear your procedure got delayed. Hang in there and it's nice to know that you made it to the hair salon without too much trouble considering all the flooding in your area. You're going to look so nice with the new do that you should have Art take you out for dinner to show it off!

Karen - That has got to be so frustrating trying to find someone to assemble the pool for your sister. At the rate it's going, that pool is never going to get put up this year. Bert & I assembled 3 of them when we lived in NJ. It's a pain to do, but it is doable. I don't think you're up for that job though. Glad your second vaccine effects are pretty well over with, but take it easy for another day to be sure.

Bill _ Rita getting swamped with calls from people wanting to take a cruise? I would think she would be. I like the plans Royal Caribbean are considering for when they start sailing fulltime out of Florida.

Time to heat up some of that pizza and then decide how this day is going to go. Have a great afternoon, everyone! :)

Good Sunday morning!

Happy to hear that you're getting that second Covid shot, Lee. Various medical professionals have mentioned to wait to take any pain pills until AFTER you get the shot, not before. I don't remember what the reason is. I for one do remember "Festus".

Geesh K2, you Michiganders sure are getting more than your fair share of rain and flooding. What's Art's thoughts on Ford's new electric pick-up truck? It'll be available next spring and will have more power than the gas engine version of the 150. It'll be called the "Lightning". You can even plug power tools into it or use it as a generator for your house during power failures. I'm impressed.

"Air traffic controller's school ... How the heck many different jobs did you have over the years?" Well BB, I'd say these are the major ones; Radio announcer, air traffic controller, realtor, and truck driver. Heck in high school I had a job at Arby's when the only sandwich they sold was roast beef.

Hey KC, in the near future you and Lee can share licking a doorknob.......or an ice cream cone.
1f601.png
It sure sucks that something as simple as getting a reliable contractor to set up that pool has turned into a cluster f... .

The next couple of days should be dry but around 90 degrees and very muggy. So today, Kathi set her alarm to go off at 8 and be outside thrashing around on our outside projects by 8:30 before it gets too hot. We'll just be trimming back some flowering plants that have gotten out of hand in their growth. We've got to whack them back a few times every summer.

Good Morning!
And Dave/Kathi I think you needed to get outside by 7:00 a.m. to avoid any major heat. It was 80F last night when I went to bed. That's very unusual. The HUMIDTY after all that rain and heat is UNREAL!
Good luck cutting the back the plants. Just hope you two came inside before it got too HOT out there.

Dave: I'll have to ask Art what he thinks about the F150-Lightning. I'm sure he'll have good reviews on it. After all it's a FORD! LOL

TV stations have been going nuts showing all the flooding on the freeways under the bridge overpasses. Heck, it doesn't take a Rocket Scientist to know to NOT attempt going into water under a bridge when the pumps are not working. Unbelievable how many cars were stuck everywhere.

I hope you all have a fantastic and safe day.
I'm off to get ready to go to CHURCH. YUP....the ceiling tiles will be falling for sure.
It's our churches Patron Saint Day and 2 of our lifelong friends are the honored guests. I'm only going because they do so much for our church community I want to make sure the days event is well attended for their sake. I'm not going up into the choir loft and I'm not even going to be there ON TIME. Just making a appearance. Really not nice, but it is what it is.

I'll say prayers for ALL of us.

Bill: Nice to see you posting. Hope all is good with RITA at the new house. Fill us in on how she likes it. Post some pictures.

Good morning! You sure have been a chatty little group since I got off here yesterday. I have to laugh about some of you complaining about the rain, heat & humidity. Welcome to our world! Right, Karen? I am so sick of rain ruining our plans this week. We're going to give it another try this morning. We'll be leaving here in about 15 minutes to head for the Grille for brunch. So far it looks like we'll make it today. YAY!!!

Lee - I second everyone else's comments that you should not take a pill before your shot, but rather afterwards for it to do its job.

Dave - I hope you and Kathi don't melt cutting back some plants in the yard! Take it slow and stop for a drink once in a while.

Kathie - How nice of you to go to church this morning due to the special guests who will be there. That's very considerate of you. Also, thanks for the prayers that we all need.

After brunch we don't have a lot planned. Not sure if we'll see M&J today. I'm sure they will be stopping by their lot to see the progress for themselves. Got lots of leftover salmon and fettuccini from last night that didn't get consumed as 2 of the boys weren't here. No cooking for me tonight!!!

Better get a move on and finish getting ready to go out. If I don't end up with company later, I'll try to stop back, but if I don't, you'll know why. Have a fantastic day, everyone! :)

There are 100 homes in this development, K2. The cookout yesterday at the clubhouse was very well attended and the food (fried chicken, hamburgers, hot dogs, corn on the cob and potato salad topped off with hot fudge sundaes) was very good. We met a few of our close neighbors and had a great time.
The heat is due to arrive today and continue through most, if not all, of next week.
Fortunately the AC works well and there are ceiling fans in the living room, kitchen and both bedrooms so we are quite comfortable.
I'll try to post some photos when I get a chance and I am sure Rita will be posting in the not too distant future.
Getting the Boston Globe delivered on a consistent basis is a challenge. Apparently there is someone new delivering the paper and our neighbors confirmed that his performance is definitely wanting.

Okay folks....you're good for this week as far as prayers go.
Church was PACKED today and the Priest said "WELCOME BACK" to everyone. He said he missed his parishioners. The entire day went well. The luncheon was in our UPPER HALL and was good.
Our LOWER HALL was totally FLOODED from the rain. The 4 pumps we have were overwhelmed by the pressure of all the water and gave out.
The Elevator shaft (which of course has a very deep shaft where the elevator runs down into was totally flooded. They managed to get it up to the 3rd floor and LOCKED it so nobody could use the elevator.
Bad part of that was the Honored guest of the Patron Saint Day event had a heck of a time climbing from the street level to the upper hall level since he has one
prosthetic leg. We all felt so badly for him having to struggle to get up the stairs.
The food was
catered so there was no worry about how to keep it warm or serving it. The pastry table was all donations of Serbian pastries for various ladies. YUM.
I'm glad to be home and out of my church clothes. We were all glad that the church
furnace room didn't flood and that the A/C worked. It's so humid outside it's hard to breath.

PAT: Let did mention BRING A TYLENOL WITH HIM to take AFTER he got the shot. Just thought I'd mention that. Hopefully, his shot will not give him any issues.

BILL: How nice that you got to meet the neighbors and it was a good event. Good luck with the WEATHER! So far NO RAIN today (Sunday). But the day isn't over yet.

Dave: I still need to ask Art about that F150 Lightning for you.

Later gang. I'm off to put my leg up on some pillows.

By the way, we BINGE WATCHED The Lupin on Netflix. Series 1 & 2. It was good. You really had to pay attention because it went back and forth in time. We both HATED to see the series end. I looked it up and they said there WILL be a SERIES 3. Yippee.

Really? Potato salad topped off with hot fudge sundaes. Who's to say what is good? But that really doesn't
appeal to me. I have heard of other things more strange than that. I just usually put a little dill on top of my
potato salad.
I once had some rhubarb flavored ice cream in Venezuela.

Good afternoon bunnies!! I am feeling 100% better...and you know what that means...running...running & more running!!

Negc, Sounds like a nice get together with your neighbors in your new community! I hope the move for you & Rita brings as much fun & new friends as my move did for me!!

Kathie, thank you for the extra prayers...much appreciated for sure!! Wow...sure hope all the flooding at the church does not cause any major problems!

Lee, good luck with your 2nd shot tomorrow...I had no idea they could/would give you 2 different vaccine doses...
Sorry to hear Mr Bear is slowly winding down....

Pat, that is a rare occurrence to have leftovers after G&E'd crew leave...now you know who the biggest eater in the group is...
Hope you make it to brunch at the Grille today..we actually had a pretty nice day here!

Dave, you really should write a book about all the different careers you've had...I bet it would be really interesting to read! Glad your procedure went well!

Nice to see a couple new poster's here...Bilgeclass & Gottagoacruzn feel free to introduce yourselves & hang around to get to know us....we've been posting together for 20+ and many if not all of us have met in person ...

Spent about 4 hours at the pool this afternoon...rained a couple times but very lightly & the sun was still shining!
Well Jane finally has an install date for her pool...July 5th...now to see whether this guy actually shows up to do the work...we figured it up & this is the 7th guy we have talked to & gotten pricing to do the install!
I'm back on Sparkplug sitting again...Wendy called me last night to tell me that her daughter's grandson had died unexpectedly & she was leaving early this morning to drive to Ohio...I really don't like the idea of her doing that...but she just was not thinking clearly enough to try to arrange a flight...her son had even offered to pay her way but she just wanted to hop in the car & go...I feel bad for her...
Time to go warm up some of Deb's yummy chicken soup & get comfy for the night....catch up with you all soon!

Karen so glad you are feeling good again. Just try and pace yourself. Ha Ha....like that will ever happen.
So very sorry about Wendy's daughter's grandson passing. With all these storms all over the place I hope she makes the drive safely. And I really hope she doesn't do a NON-STOP drive. But we kind of know Wendy already. Prayers going out the her and the family.

Lee: MayFlys!! YUCK. We call them FISH FLY's here. They're horrible anywhere near the water. They get so bad at times that places that have the bright lights (like Gas Stations) get so many you can SLIDE into the station when you brake. The only good thing is they don't HURT YOU and they DON'T last TOO LONG.

I tried to go out on the deck to have my cup of coffee just now and it was a NO GO. UNREAL HUMIDITY.

PAT: Did you make it to the Grille for Brunch? We use to go to Brunch a lot when we were younger. These days, it just doesn't pay to go to them. Too much food and we just don't eat that much. And with Covid I don't even think any places have Brunch around here.

Sure looks like it wants to "RAIN" again. Please no more rain.

Morning gang, it's another Monday! And next Monday we'll be in July.

Mayflies muckleheads, and fish flies are all in the same family of bugs. And if that doesn't confuse us enough, around here they are called Midges. At least whatever you call them they don't bite. I don't know the reason why but they say lots of them show that Lake Erie is in good shape.

Place your bets on this new pool installer. I'll truly believe it when I see a picture of it, after it's installed.

You may remember that I mentioned a TV show last week called "When Nature Calls with Helen Mirren". I mentioned that I didn't know if it was going to be any good. But the premise sounded interesting. After it aired I forgot to give my opinion. If any of you watched it, you may have enjoyed it. But in my never to be humble opinion, it was a video turd. We watched for maybe 20 minutes before changing channels.

We did get most of our posies and bushes trimmed yesterday before it got too hot and sticky. They are all on the west side of the house and up close to it. So when we went out early we were in the shade of the house as we did our thing for a short while. May finish the trimming today.

And that's it from me this morning. Ya'll have a good day.

A’Burg Guy

Environmental Compliance Officer
Well now where did yesterday go? Oh, I know. We had friends over for a lunch time "Bark-A-Doo" (That's for Tony). I was the only single shot guy so I made extra sure to stay a good 6 feet from our friends.
I was meaning to ask Dave, of all of the jobs you listed the other day which was your favourite? With the heat again you may want to keep your outdoor adventures to a minimum today. We too have heard that the (insert name here) flies are a sign that the lake and river are healthy!
One more name for the pesky flies..."Shadflies". Yes Kathie, they gather anywhere there is light. Our downtown, being right on the river, is covered with them! So sad to hear about all of the water in your church. I sense a major restoration / repair to the effected areas. I sense a fund raiser coming to offset the costs.
Yes Karen, as long as both shots are mRNA they can interchange them. There is actually a whole school of thought that mixing them may prove even more beneficial! We changed up Bear's food and he's as happy as can be again. We know he's 13 and we also know that he'll tell us when it's time. I'm still waiting for The Master to post the spread on this 7th guy showing up for the pool install. Condolences and safe travels to Wendy.
It sounds like you and Rita are settling in to your new community just fine Bill. I see Bilgeclass picked up on your hot fudge sundae topped 'tater salad.

leftover salmon and fettuccini
Does it ship well Pat? Just askin' for a friend. How was brunch at The Grille?
Thanks to you all for the "Shot First, Tylenol After" advice. Advice that I will f follow. I have my cardiac assessment tomorrow with yet another cardiologist so I can enter the rehab program. I'd hate to be down for the count because of side effects from today's poke.
OK gang, you all have a fantastic day. If it's too hot where you live, stay cool. If it's wet, stay inside and have a glass of wine. Why? Because I said so.

Good morning Wrabbits! Another HOT ONE here in PURE MICHIGAN! The humidity is about 2% less, but not much. We were able to have coffee and breakfast out on the deck. I just came in now after being out there for a few hours.

So has anybody ever cut the bottom off your store bought CELERY and put it in a small cup or bowl with water and watched it grow. I've done it twice. It's amazing how fast it starts to sprout from the center of the piece. I'll get a picture to post later.

Well, if the insurance hadn't gotten screwed up I'd most likely be DONE with my knee surgery and in recovery and almost ready to come home. Oh well, better to know the paperwork is all correct and that this will be paid for than to have the hospital on my back for payment.

I had to open up all the doors and some windows and put the ceiling fans and stove fan on earlier. I put a pot that had a little BUTTER harden on the bottom from when we had Popcorn the other night on the stove to soften so I could wash the pot. Good thing I added some water to it. I turned my attention to something else in the sink and the pot got HOT and started to smoke before I knew it. Well, that's just not the smell you want drifting through the house. Silly me. It's better now. Note to self:
DON'T TAKE YOUR EYES OFF A POT ON THE STOVE!

Lee: Hope the JAB today isn't giving you too much trouble. The pictures of the park on FBook looked so nice.

I heard from a friend in Sidney, Australia that they are on LOCK DOWN. They were doing so well there and then things just went crazy. The streets are empty. Good thing it's their Winter season and the tourists aren't affected as much. Although, I bet Sidney would look great in the Winter and be a heck of a lot cooler.

I don't hold out much hope for the latest POOL installer to show up. They seem to TEASE people and just don't give a care. SAD. Let's hope I am TOTALLY WRONG. Sure would be nice to have that pool up and working.

Summer 80S GIF
And here's Karen in her Purple Floatie! Ha Ha.... just waiting to relax and float around.

I managed to use my electric Pedi-gizmo on the bottom of my dry skin feet while sitting outside. Nice to have smooth "heals" again.

DAVE/Kathi: Hope you're inside by now. Just too hot to be messing around trimming things.
Hope you're heart beats are behaving Dave.

I'm off to see if there is enough items on my grocery list to make it worth going to the store. Might have to put that off until early tomorrow morning. Just too hot to be parking and limping into the store right now.

Have a good day and come back and let us know what you were up to today!

Good morning, everyone. So far, we have a beautiful day going on here.

Karen - Prayers that Wendy's trip goes well with no incidents. That's a hard reason to drive all alone to Ohio. Nice to know there's a possible pool installer in the picture. I hope he shows up to do the job.

Kathie - Thanks once again for the prayers yesterday. Glad the luncheon went well in spite of the flooded basement. That poor priest having to walk up all those steps. I feel for him.

Dave - When you listed all your jobs, you forgot to mention Meals on Wheels. You may not have been paid to do it, but you did do that for a while.

Lee - Good luck with your jab today. I hope you don't have any side effects from it. The pictures Lu-Ann posted this morning on FB are so pretty. They're almost enough to make us all want to move across the border!!

Bill - Glad the community cook out went well and you got to meet some new people. Sounds like you picked a winner!

Made it to brunch yesterday with our friends. We were about half way through eating when lo and behold, there were M&J with the kids. We put two tables together and sat there for about 2 hours chatting and visiting with friends we haven't seen in a long time.

Needless to say, M&J came back to the house for the afternoon. There was a method to their madness and I wasn't in the least bit surprised by it and had my answer all ready for them. Seems like the lease on the place they are living in right now is up July 31st. Landlord said they can stay month to month, but must pay $100. more each month until the new house is ready - about 4 months. That would amount to $7,000 and they would also have to continue to pay $200. a week for child care. Plus school opens the middle of August, so that would mean they would have to get that school's uniforms and supplies only to have to do it all over again in a few months. You see where this is going? Being the nice clear-headed mother that I am, I told them they can come stay with us until the house is ready. That will mean only uniforms and supplies for 1 school. To give us a break, the kids will go to karate any dance classes right from school and their dad will pick them up. It should work out well, but if not, tell me to bend over and give me a good kick in the butt!!

Managed to make an appointment with my pulmonologist for this afternoon. I've got a cough and mucus. I don't want to let it go because 2 years ago I ended up spending 4th of July in the hospital with pneumonia. I don't want that to happen again! I really was lucky to even get an appointment with my doctor. He's pretty solidly booked until August, but they just opened a new office and that's where I'll go this afternoon. Wish me luck that I get the right meds to clear this crap up.

OK enough talking for me right now. Besides, laundry is calling once again. Have a wonderful day, gang, and be good! :)
