PAT & BERT: WOW.... you are really fantastic parents to offer the kids and dog and M&J to stay with you. I'd bite the bullet and give them the $$$$ and tell them to stick it out at the rental! Yup, I'm getting old and just wouldn't make it through that with young kids. All the best to you good parents!

Now.... tell me how $100 extra each month x 4 months comes to $7000??

It's getting hotter and muggier outside. I'm getting tired of having to be cooped up inside everyday. :emoticon 0106 crying:

Now.... tell me how $100 extra each month x 4 months comes to $7000??

Easy - The rent is $1650/mo & with the additional $100. makes the rent $1750/mo times 4 equals $7000. That's not even counting the $200/wk child care for 4 more months or roughly 17 weeks and that's another $3400. The numbers do all add up.
You must be a lot richer than we are, Kathie, if you'd be able to just hand them a gift of $10,000 to keep them in the trailer for 4 more months. The money they will save will pay for a lot of things they will need right away in the house. Things like stuff for the windows and any possible furniture they might need right away.

Now can I get back to the laundry? :)

Good afternoon all!
I talked to Wendy a little while ago & she made it to Ohio safely...I also found out her son who lives in Jacksonville rode with her...that was a relief! She had to do most of the driving because he is having problems with his legs...he had a major heart attack earlier this year & I guess is still having circulation problems...they've put stents in his legs but it doesn't seem to have helped...anyhow they did not drive straight thru & probably will not coming home either...which is good news...funeral will be on Friday & she said they will either leave after Friday evening or early Sat. morning...my bet is Sat. morning...

After I fed the dog I went to Jane's & got her front yard mowed...it had been over a week & was beginning to look like a jungle...she did meet me at the door with a fresh burger king breakfast sandwich so that was nice...got the front mowed & then mowed part of the back yard that had gotten high...with all the rain we've had it hard keeping up with it...anyhow...that was my day so far...now I'm hot & tired & going to relax for a bit...back later!

PAT: Not RICH....just not sure my sanity could handle that many people even for that amount of time.
You and Bert have always been good to your children and grandchildren and that's a good thing.
I just worry about all the extra work you will have going on. I'm sure it will all work out.

We went to the grocery store. And Art actually came with me so I wouldn't have to park and walk from the HOT parking lot. He was looking for a new pair of SUNGLASSES. Seems the man went to a "cemetery" yesterday that Jill pointed out to him. It had really OLD tombstone's and she knows he's into old history like that. Well, he said he must have set down his sunglasses and/or they fell off his handlebars and they're GONE! Do you think one of the "dead folks" swiped them from his bike?? LOL I'm just glad they weren't prescription glasses.
He was able to find a new pair at Kroger's of all places. He's a HAPPY CAMPER now.

I'm making us a Gordon Ramsay Chicken Stir Fry with Rice Noodles & Broccoli for our dinner. Saw it on Facebook and it looked EASY and good. I'm not a big fan of Gordon Ramsay, but I will try the recipe.

Karen: Good to know that Wendy at least had someone in the car with her and that they STOPPED for the night. Hope they do the same on the way home.
I have a feeling YOU'LL sleep good tonight after doing all that lawn work at Jane's. I must give you KUDO's for doing all that in the heat. Drink a lot of water.

Later gang.

Later.

Here’s the picture of the End of the CELERY that I put in water 3 days ago. It’s so fun to watch it grow.
Kathi and Pat this would be a great project for your grandkids to try! That is if you use Celery!
I lifted it out of the water do you could see it better! It needs to be in water.
Notice the temperature here at 4:00 pm! Crazy HOT!

To the WEST we have SUNSHINE and to the EAST we have dark clouds and even THUNDER.
One crazy Monday evening.

DAVE: Here's what Art wrote down for me to pass on to you about the F150-Lighting.

The target is 563 Horse Power.
0-6- mph in 4-5 'seconds'.
300 miles on a charge.
On SALE Spring of 2022.
Starts at $40,000..... you can get a $7,500.00 rebate.
So are you up to putting in a order for one?? LOL :emoticon 0122 itwasntme:

Made the dinner I saw on Facebook and it was actually good. I like the Rice Noodles that were flat and looked like Fettuccini. Trick was to make sure you had EVERYTHING chopped and lined up and ready to roll. It didn't take long at all once you started!

Okay, this girl has to put up this leg. OUCH. Time for a evening Tylenol to help take the throb away.

Have a good evening and hope EVERYONE gets a GOOD NIGHTS sleep. :sleepey smile:

Morning Bunnies!

You haven't been in that house very long Lee, and yet the builder already quit guaranteeing bathroom fixtures that he put in? That doesn't sound fair. You asked which of the jobs I liked best. Surprisingly, it was the truck driving. A lot less middle management people trying to micro-manage your work. I was pretty much on my own. Here's the loads that need delivered, you deliver them in whatever order you want. Take any route you want. So how did your body react to that second "jab"?

That celery thing looks cool, K2. Kathi and I never did go outside yesterday to finish the bush trimming. Way too much humidity, even early in the day. One local TV station had us in the category of "Instant Sweating" if you did go outside. Yes, a Ford electric F-150 would be the perfect Christmas gift for Art. All you would have to do now is start stocking up on wrapping paper.

As for the M&J family moving back in with you and Bert while their new house is finished; As you said,
"It should work out well, but if not, tell me to bend over and give me a good kick in the butt!!" No BB, it's not yet time to start bending over.......YET.

Hope the visit with the pulmonologist went well and will lead to fixing the cough and mucus.

KC; Good to hear that Wendy and her son made it safe and sound to Ohio. GOOD they didn't make that run all in one day. Yup, you need a sign that says, "Will work for food"
1f604.png
Or at least a T-shirt.

We're winging it today as to what we do. Humidity will be the determining factor.

Another quick stop before I head out to my assessment with the cardiologist so I can start the cardio rehab program.
I figured it may be the truck driving Dave. For all the reasons you mentioned. Just a little twinge today at the injection point.
Bless your heart for being there for the kids Pat. But it doesn’t surprise me. Just one question…if there is a butt kickin’ will there be tickets? ;) Now serving number 3.
I could see lightening up your way last night Kathie. I thought it was fireworks until I saw a lightening bolt! Rest that leg please.
Precious little mowing around here Karen. Humidity yesterday made it feel like 106F!
Hi to the rest of the gang. Gotta run.
Stay safe, hydrated and, well, be good.

Good mid afternoon, everyone! Where the heck did the past 24 hours go? I blinked and it was gone!!

Lee - Glad you had relatively few side effects from your JAB. Haven't had a chance yet today to check and see if Lu-Ann posted any new pictures from your morning walk. Good luck at the cardiologist today.

Kathie - You consider 78 degrees too cool for AC? Wow! We wouldn't even consider turning the AC off until it goes below 70. That truck sounds cool, for someone who is into trucks. Back in the days when I was teaching, I used to grow celery just like that. We'd also do carrot tops, sweet potatoes and a few other things.

Karen - As usual, sounds like you were going above and beyond when it comes to doing things for your sister with all that grass cutting. So glad Wendy didn't have to make that trip alone.

Dave - Sorry your humidity was so high that you couldn't work outside. Just remember this when winter comes and you are freezing your posterior regions.

My visit with the pulmonologist went very well. He put me on 10 days of antibiotic and a round of prednisone. Now I just have to hope it all works.

This morning, Bert and I made plans to make like Marcia & Carl once again and had a whole list of stops we needed to make. Shortly before we were getting ready to leave, Missy messaged me that she was coming over to clean. Soooo .... we went shopping and she cleaned. We got hone around 1:30 after covering almost all the places we wanted to stop. Tomorrow we may hit the remainders after we come back from Bert' appointment with the hearing aid people. Definitely won't be on here until some time during the afternoon, if I am lucky.

Now I've got to figure out what's on tap for dinner tonight., so I better run and try to figure out how creative I really want to be. Enjoy the rest of the afternoon and your evening. :)

Doing a light dinner tonight, as Missy & the kids just left. Too tired to get too creative. Also going to shut down the computer for tonight. As I said earlier, it will be later in the day before I get to post tomorrow. Bert's hearing aid company is over an hour away and he ha to be there by 10:45. UGH!!! Won't be back here until at least 3 or 4, so don't look for me earlier. Have a great evening and be good! :)

Great to hear that your trip to the pulmonologist yielded a positive result Pat. Awfully nice of Missy to tidy around your home. Always a good feeling to get lots of stops crossed off the list! Be safe tomorrow running to Bert’s hearing person.
I see Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau challenged US President Joe Biden to a friendly bet on the outcome of The Stanley Cup. I loved President Biden’s reply… “You’re on Pal”. Nice to see that camaraderie back between our nation’s leaders.
My cardio test and meeting with the cardiologist went well. Better than I could have hoped for. I have my first cardio rehab exercise session on July 7. I do one session a week at the hospital and should be doing 30 minutes of exercise on 5 of the remaining 6 days. I will be monitored each week at the hospital and checked by Dr McFarlane monthly.
I hope that all of you have had a Super Tuesday and that your Wednesday is even better.

Good Wednesday morning Bunnies!

At least for now, our normal routines are going to be changed a bit. Kathi has been bound and determined to get another Dachshund in the past few days. And by God she wasn't going to quit till she got one.

Well she got one last night. A miniature, 3 year old, short haired, fella. Seems calm and has no problems with Fuzzbutt. His name is now Buddy. The couple that had him had called him Badger. But that doesn't fly, and Kathi decided on Buddy.

So he's got to get used to this house, his new name, the yard, our routines, and Fuzzbutt.

Of all locations, the exchange took place in the parking lot of a closed Waffle House.

Here's an older song I heard on the radio yesterday. A song I haven't heard for years and years. So old a kid mentions the power of a nickle.

Guess what .....it's RAINING AGAIN right now! Geez, this is getting old already.
Dave that song sure is a OLD one. I faintly remember it by the "Nickel" jingle.

DAVE & KATHI.....Congrats on the new Dachshund...Buddy!
He doesn't know how lucky he is to be part of your family. He'll get the best care in the world.
Now tell us why the previous owners gave him up!!
Valentines Day Love GIF

Tell Kathi we need a picture of Buddy! :)

PAT: Good to know you got some meds to help you out with your congestion.
Have a fun day running around to the "hearing aid place". Be safe in that traffic over there.

Karen: How you doing over your way girl? Time to take a "ME" day break.

Lee: Sounds like you're going to be busy starting July 7th. I think it's fantastic that they offer such a nice rehab program for post heart surgery patients. Gives you the confidence to know you can do things without worrying about the stress & strain on your heart. Just knowing you're monitored is a big plus.

Not sure if it's raining over your way, but it's steady here. Not a hard rain, but enough that you wouldn't want to be walking around in it. Hope you can still get a walk in with the pups.

NEGC:

How's things going for you and Rita these days? Hope Rita's not wearing you out dragging you all over the place. Have you two gotten use to the new house?
Are you still down to 1 vehicle? Might be time to just have only 1 vehicle. Take care and stop by and give us a update.

I'm off to get a fresh cup of coffee and a English Muffin! It's that kind of day. If and when the sun comes out it's going to be a horribly MUGGY/HUMID day outside.

Have a good day folks.

That tune goes out to Dave and Kathi. It sounds like you look at pups the way some people look at Lays Potato Chips. "You can't have just one". Congrats to you all! Great tune by Clint Holmes! Did ya know that Clint was born in The UK? 75 years young and still touring!
Raining here today as well Kathie but we did get to The Navy Yard early to walk the pups. This seems like the perfect day for us to pup sit Latte and Mocha while Jim and Gail do their walk through of their new home. Then they go see the lawyer and sign their lives away! Mmmm. An English muffin and coffee. Again I ask, do you deliver? The biggest heart thing I have to work on is knowing when I'm doing things that benefit increasing my stamina without over doing things!
Things still looking good for the pool installer Karen? Dang I hope this guy doesn't let Jane down.
So Bill, now that Rita is home and had a few days to look around, how many changes has she made to things? That's what our fine wives do, isn't it.
Safe travels to you and Bert today Pat. I got to thinking - which is always a bad thing - will Bert be able to hear more on the way home than he did on the way there?
Jim and Gail should be here any time.
I best run but as always, please, all of you have safe and fantastic days.

Good afternoon, all! Got home earlier than expected, as they didn't give Bert the hearing test he expected. That will me next time in 2 weeks. And, yes, he did come home hearing a bit better, but still not perfect. Thus the test in 2 weeks.

Dave - Congrats on adding Buddy to your family. He is adorable and reminds me of the mini one Bert's mother had. Such soulful eyes too. Loved your song choice this morning. It was always a favorite of mine, but like you I hadn't heard it in years.
I forgot to mention the other day that I did the same thing you did with that Helen Merin (sp?) show. Totally boring and so contrived. I gave it the required 20 minutes and then hit the remote to another station.

Lee - That was great news about your trip to the cardiologist and that rehab program is fantastic. They sure take care of you people north of the border! Glad you got in your walk at the Navy Yard before the rains came. Have a good afternoon pup sitting!

Kathie - We too are once again getting rain. It started while we were at the hearing aid place and we had to drive home in sometimes pouring rain and other times light rain. Bert made one quick stop at BJ's and while he was in there the heavens really opened up. Thankfully, by the time he came out it was back to a light rain.

Karen - You getting rained on like we are here?

OK, Bill - Time for you or Rita to check in with the cyber family and let us know how you both are managing in your new place. We also need to see some pictures of the new place.

Time to get off here and do a not so fun job ... Make out a shopping list for what I need for our 4th of July BBQ. The actual shopping won't take place until tomorrow when we find out what Publix has on sale, but I need to figure out what we already have too. I know I will be driving Bert nuts because he's the one that has to search for what we may or may not have already. Hee Hee - This should be fun!!

Enjoy the rest of your day, no matter what you are doing. Stay dry and try to relax. You deserve it!

BUDDY is just adorable. Kathi did a good job finding that little guy.

BB: Glad you and Bert made it home earlier and beat some of the traffic. Only to have to do it again next week.

I just got home from my Post-Op visit with my cute Urologist. All is good and I don't have to go back for a YEAR! YIPPEE.

While I was gone ART said we got about 3 mins of HARD HEAVY rain. He didn't even have time to get up from the lower level of the yard before it was OVER.
GRASS guy came earlier and cut the grass. Before he came the Fertilizer guy was here. That made it necessary for ED (the lawn guy) to use his smaller power mower and MULCH the entire property so we wouldn't lose the effects of what the fertilizer guy put on. CRAZY day out there!

It's 88F outside and the HUMIDITY is UNBELIEVEABLE. Ugly hot. I don't know how people work in this kind of weather.

I just heard that Rumsfield died at 88 yrs old. He was older than I thought he was. RIP

Okay, I'm out of here for now. Need to rest up a tad before I start dinner. We will be eating a TAD later today.
