Return of the Cruising Bunny's....

Hi Bunnies!

I'm hoping you get our weather for the next couple of days K2. We'll be getting out of the 90 degree temperature range and wicked humidity. We'll be dropping down into the 70's. BUT by Sunday the heat and humidity will be back.

Yesterday our rain didn't start till 2:30 PM, and fizzled out around 4:30. It gave our lawn guy a chance to get in and do his thing.
"CUTE UROLOGIST" There's a story here.

So happy to hear that your recent heart test came back with good results, Lee. Now all you need to do is FOCUS on a slow rebuilding so you don't screw up your recovery. Great doggy song. In answer to your question about why Buddy was sold; He and another one of their dogs didn't get along. He was constantly bullied by their other dog. But so far, here he gets along with everyone and every other creature. Very calm and mellow. Seems like they got rid of the wrong dog. I would have booted the aggressive one. (Oh yea, Kathi corrected me, Buddy is 4 years old not 3.)

BB; If Bert didn't get tested yesterday, what was he there for? Adjusting his current hearing aid?

Since today is July 1st, our nephew/contractor is close but no cigar. He's coming today to tear down our old shed and haul it away. Earlier in the month he told me he'd be able to begin building us a new one by the end of June. (A nasty windstorm pretty much causing so much damage that it wasn't worth fixing.)

It's also grocery pick-up day. What to do with Buddy? This will be his first test for him in how he behaves when we both are away from the house for a bit. Fuzzbutt has always been good when left alone in the house, uncaged. I think Buddy will be just fine.

AM I excited....not really. It just means WINTER is getting closer! :emoticon 0111 blush:

Dave: Thanks for the update on Buddy. Hope FuzzButt and Buddy get along while you're picking up the groceries. Too bad you don't have one of those camera's set up and connected to your cell phone to see what they are actually doing while you two are out of the house! I bet Kathi could arrange all that!!
Good luck with the SHED removal.

Got the call from the hospital Pre-Screening at the crack of dawn to go over meds I can and cannot take for my knee surgery. It's back on for July 7th. Joy, Joy! Still need to wait to find out what time.

KAREN:
How you doing over your way? You must be BUSY, BUSY with yet another project. Fill us in girl.

I have nothing more for you good people this morning.
Art is biking and I'm going to wash the kitchen floor and do the bathrooms and dust.

Later gang. Coffee time.

Good morning!
Canadian GIF by megan motown

10 1/2 weeks ago I had my heart procedure. This morning, after walking the pups and before it got too warm, I cut the front lawn. That may not seem like a big deal to many but I think I was smiling ear to ear the whole time. I did stop part way through for a break. Lu-Ann took over for a bit and I finished up. That little battery powered mower was just dandy!
I have to agree about getting rid of the bully dog Dave. Unless that one had been there longer. It’s like the two I brought home from FL. Ava is pretty gentle with the other two. She loves people and wants to play with other pups. Latte, who went to Jim and Gail wants to pick a fight with every dog she sees. Yesterday while we were dog sitting we used a baby gate to keep Latte separated from the rest of the pups.
Your urologist can’t be that cute Kathie or you wouldn’t be so happy to not have to go back for a year. ;) We had weather warnings and cancelations of said warnings off and on all day yesterday. We didn’t get too much at all. Same forecast for this afternoon.
I have to be honest Pat, I’m amazed at the level of care I am and will be getting for the next 6 months. I’ll be fit as a fiddle come FL time. Hopefully everything you need for your July 4th gathering is available today.
Good morning Karen and Bill.
Dave is coming to cut the back lawn for us in a bit. I told him that there was a beer here with his name on it. I better get my magic marker and make that happen.
Everyone have a fantastic day!

DARN..... you beat me to it Lee. HAPPY CANADA DAY!

Lee: How nice that you got the okay to CUT your front lawn. One added "chore" at a time. Nice to know you still have Dave cutting your BACKYARD lawn. (good move)
We can't be happier that you've come along so well from that massive surgery. Just don't over-do it. The grass will be there forever. :emoticon 0111 blush:

So I'll be the third one to say it: HAPPY CANADA DAY! I also need to say Happy birthday to our youngest, Laurie, today. Bet she gets her Carvel Ice Cream cake for sure tonight!

Kathy - Sounds like a great trip to the urologist, a good report and a chance to see the CUTIE! Glad to hear your surgery is back on as scheduled. You sure were busy this morning. We were so bad after having to get up early yesterday, we both took advantage of it and slept in this morning. It really felt good.

Lee - Good for you to be able to at least mow the front lawn. It's a start and you handled it real well. Nice to still get help with the backyard cutting. You'll work your way up to that soon, I'm sure.

We too got lots of rain again yesterday afternoon. Poor Bert had to BBQ our steaks in the rain. Good thing he pulled the grill a bit closer tot he house before getting started. We're going to have this same weather pattern right through the weekend. Bummer, huh? We may end up with an indoor 4th of July BBQ. Good thing that only Missy's kids will be here or we'd have to eat in the dining room.
After the holiday, we have to keep our eyes on the tropics. There's something out there that could have Florida as it's target. Too early in the season for that crap. We'll just have to wait and see what happens.
With all this wet weather, once again we may not make it to the Grille for dinner this week just like last week.

Dave - Apparently there was a mix up at the hearing aid place. Bert was supposed to see the hearing doctor, but they instead assigned him to a tech. He explained that he wants to see the doctor, so that's why we have to go back. They were able to change the filters and clean out a bit of wax from the one that was not working at all, so it was not a totally wasted trip.
So how did Buddy make out being left with Fuzz Butt? Did they tear up the house and have a wild party?

Got my list all ready to go shopping and now just have to tear Bert away from the computer. He's probably playing games on it again, as he often does. The clouds are already gathering, so it would be a good idea to get out of here now.

Have a wonderful day, everyone, and hopefully you will be having better weather than we are having here. Be good and stay safe! :)

The Celery plant loves the humidity. Growing fast.

BB: Always nice to get a few extra hours of sleep. Happy shopping for Bert.

Temps are finally more mellow outside today. Whew!

HAPPY CANADA LEE.... good to hear you have all your ducks (doc's) in a row to start your rehab therapy! And yep...I love those handy dandy little battery powered mowers!

Pat, we have sure had the rain up here the last few days as well...how are you doing with the new meds the Dr. put you on? And I think it's great that you & Bert are willing to step up & let M&J move in again...at least this time you know how long it will be for...

Dave, that is one cute little new addition you've added to the family...sounds like he is going to settle in & do just fine...I've never been a fan of being a solo pet parent...
obviously....

Kathie, glad to hear the knee surgery is still on schedule! I know you will be thrilled to have it over & done with! I felt like you this morning...I got a call from my eye Dr. asking if my insurance had changed to Medicare...I told her yes...so she took my info to update my file for my July 13th appt. she called back a few minutes later to tell me both Medicare & my other insurance were saying they were not my primary ins....soooo I had to call Medicare to try to fix that...and they needed Larry's final date of employmentwhich of course I had no clue...so I had to call OPM and luckily got a nice man who could give me that date...called Medicare back...gave them the date & she said she would make the changes so Medicare would be primary...whew...always something!!

It has been a BUSY...BUSY week for me...Mon. was dog duty & Janes yard...Tues. I used a fence cleaning solution to clean my back fence & the neighbors next door since our back
fences are visible from the road...they were really REALLY dirty...but this spray on stuff worked like a charm & just hose it off... I told my neighbor if she would buy the cleaner I would do the work...so she paid me today for the cleaner...plus $20 for doing it...I tried not to take it but she insisted!
Wed. was dog detail again..and then Jane & I went to Barb's for me to try & patch the roof on her mobile home...I had borrowed a ladder from Wendy, but once we got there the ladder wasn't quite long enough...so I wasn't able to do that project...she talked to the property manager at the park & they said they had a ladder we could borrow...so that project is back on for next week...
And on the Pool install....the guy who is supposed to do it on July 5th confirmed this afternoon that they WOULD be there...so we shall see...
And on top of everything else my sleep cycle is just really out of wack for some reason....can't fall asleep...or fall asleep & don't stay asleep....it's getting very annoying....
And that Ladies & Gentlemen is what has been going on in the lovely town of Belleview...

TGIF!

And good morning Belleview, you've had me worrying when you weren't posting KC. Yes, insurance paperwork and records can be a pain in the patoot to keep accurate and up to date. It's inevitable that something will get out of whack and not match their records. I hope you didn't have to spend hours and hours on hold on the phone. Just trying to reach a real human to talk to is a pain.

Happy belated Canada Day to you Lee. I can't even remember what holidays the U.S. has. Even though each breed has a common set of traits, you are so right in that each individual dog shows it's own personality.

K2; It's now that slow countdown of days till your surgery is done. But look at it this way; Next week at this time it'll be all over with. Our old shed, you mentioned, was taken apart and hauled away yesterday morning. They did it all in little over an hour. All that's left now is the cement pad it was sitting on. The same pad the new one will be built on.

Hoping that you got to sleep in again, this morning BB. Hey, you're retired, which makes sleeping in one of the perks. Sucks to have another hurricane heading toward Florida. Sounds like this is going to be a busy year for hurricanes. Have any of that Carvel ice cream cake left over? Didn't think so.

Buddy passed with flying colors his first time left loose and alone, with only Fuzzbutt keeping him company. No "accidents" or getting into anything he shouldn't have. We're finding out that he's quite the snuggler. Kathi can't sit on the couch without him in her lap. And he follows her around the house whenever she moves from room to room.

Today will be another day in the 70's, with hardly any chance of rain. May get back to more hand-weeding in the area the doggies roam.

At 8 Kathi will be calling the Vets office to see if there's any cancellations so we can get Buddy in to be checked out and brought up to date on any and all vaccinations. The earliest we could get him scheduled is August. They have 3 Vets but one is out on maternity leave, so they are really backed up.

No sleeping in here this morning, Dave. We're just getting ready to head out the door to go up to Ocala to puck up a crate of raw peanuts for Jimmy to boil on Sunday when everyone is here. We're hoping that by going early, we will beat out some of the rain which, of course, we are once again scheduled to get.
I'll try to stop back later once we're home. Have a wonderful day, gang! :)

Good afternoon!
What a beautiful day here in The Burg. We had the pups out for their walk. We came home and I took the van for a much needed wash. Then Lu-Ann and I headed back down to the river for a coffee and stroll.
It sounds like Kathi has a “real Buddy“ there Dave. Is the concrete pad in good shape? Sometimes after sitting under a shed they can show signs of wear.
Safe travels on the great peanut hunt Pat.
My gosh Karen you have been one busy bunny. All it takes is for a couple of numbers to be transposed and benefits and coverage (or hydro bills) get thrown out of whack. “Doc’s in a row”. I got a kick out of that.
Ya, it seems I transposed a couple of numbers on the hydro info with the bank. We were paying (somebody’s) hydro for about three months. When the bill would come we’d look at the amount which wasn’t outrageous until month four and pay it. The customer service rep was great. She looked at the info I had and credited any late fees and all of the payments to our account. Hard to believe that some scoundrel didn’t call them about their bill being paid.
The countdown is on for your procedure Kathie. You’ll feel so much better and be able to enjoy all of your outdoor activities again. I still think you best get a bell to ring when you first get home to summon “the help“. Don’t tell Art I said that…
We have a couple of errands to run so I best be off.
You all stay safe and well.

Short check in from me....Wendy called me a little while ago from Ohio and that woman can NOT catch a break...her son Lanny who rode up with her died in his sleep last night at his son's house. Wendy is just beside herself...this was her only son...and she just does not know what to do....her car is in Jacksonville,Fl and they drove his car to Ohio...but Wendy is in no shape to drive home...she said she is going to fly but she's not sure when...and I don't know how she will get her car either...she has 2 daughters who live here in Florida & a couple grandkids who could go get it for her...whether they will or not is another matter...tomorrow morning Jane & I are going to go out & bring Sparkplug back to my house...I don't want him to be alone out there with all the fireworks that will be going off..not sure how much I will be around the next few days...but will check in when I can....Lanny was only in his 60's...so let this be a reminder to all of us...SPEND THE MONEY NOW!!!

Oh Karen that is just horrible what happened to Wendy's son. Lordy I really feel bad for her and the rest of the family. Unbelievable.
You are a saint for bringing Sparkplug to your house.
Take care of yourself. And maybe you could change your mind about getting up on your sisters roof to patch it. Especially if you need a extra long ladder. Not worth taking a chance of anything happening to you.

Lee: We’re watching the Stanley Cup Championship coming from Montreal.
Tampa Bay just scored. These Canadians really need to win this game.

Out of here for tonight.

Time for a quick post. Today turned out to be a nightmare when it came to driving! When we drive to NC, it takes us about 10 hours to go the 650 miles. Today went went 245 miles and it took us just under 9 1/2 hours!! Between heavy rains and accidents all over the place, it was a very trying day. We were so glad to get home. Nice part was that by the time we got home, the rains had ended for the evening and we were able to go to the Grille for dinner. It was really crowded after the last couple of nights with rain. Now it's time for a glass of wine and to sit down and relax. But first, I have to see where Elsa is planning to go and hopefully, it won't be Disney World.

Have a great night, everyone, and I'll see you tomorrow. :)

Geez Karen, if it weren’t for bad luck Wendy would have no luck at all. Knowing how Bear is with fireworks it’s awfully good of you to give Sparkplug a safe spot with you.
I hate say this Kathie, as un-Canadian as it sounds, I really don’t follow hockey. I used to love the “Original Six” but as the NHL expanded the talent got terribly watered down. Good thing the border is closed. They can’t kick me out of Canada.
Nothing worse than taking hours longer than you thought it would to get somewhere Pat. Poor Bert having to drive in those conditions.
You all have a good sleep tonight!

Lee: I’m not a big hockey fan. I just don’t knocany of the players on our team these days. Same thing with Baseball.
Your Montreal team
LOST tonight.
Still makes me chuckle knowing a team from FLORIDA has a winning hockey team. Doesn’t seem like something you’d be playing in Florida.
:D

The “Fireworks” have started over here! It’s going to be a long weekend. :pistols:

Hope everyone gets a good nights sleep. :sleep2::sleepey smile::sleep:

I'm running late on my normal schedule. And not feeling all that well. It looks like I'm not the only Bunny that had a lousy day yesterday. Welcome to reality.

I was doing some minor trimming of a bush, but things just didn't seem right. I found myself short of breath and weak. But when I came back in the house, everything returned to normal. BUT, in the evening I began gasping for breath and decided that I needed to go to the Emergency Room. Yup, another round of Bronchitis had set in with a vengeance. Antibiotics and steroids soon got things back to near normal.

Steroids are an interesting "animal". You've got to watch them. While taking them they will give you a false sense of how you really are. They'll make you feel great, even though your body really isn't. So I'll be doing diddley for the next few days while the drugs do their things.

While gone to the Emergency Room, Buddy totally failed his second test of being loose in the house with only Fuzzbutt with him. Pooped in the living room, and found a way to get on the dining room table to snatch up a couple of lemon cookies, and leave crumbs all over the place. That little fella seems to be very athletic.

Good morning....

Dave, smart move getting to the ER when you did...amazing how fast things like that can escalate. Bummer that Buddy left you a little welcome home present...

Pat, wow...those boiled peanuts had better be extra super good after what you & Bert had to go thru to get them! Weather here has been total crap the last couple days...

Lee, I just feel so helpless for Wendy...she has lost so many family members in the last 2 yrs it's just unreal.

Kathie, fireworks started here the other night...and with Monday being the "federal" holiday I imagine they will go on till then & probably longer...I just never saw the fascination of sending several hundreds of dollars or more up into the air to explode...just crazy!

Well...Jane & I got Sparkplug into her car with no problem but he snapped & growled at us a couple times on the drive back to town...he seems to get spooked very easy by sudden hand movements...got him to my house & in the garage....he was agitated for a little while but seems to have settled down now...I took him out to the enclosed patio area to go potty...and he did pretty well..I figured that would be better in case by chance he does get away from me at least he has no where to run...I haven't heard anything more about when Wendy will be coming home...I expect the earliest would be Monday...need to go make my macaroni salad for our get together tomorrow...catch up with you all later...

Good soggy morning from this area! It's been raining since I got up this morning and is showing no sign of stopping soon. Aside from all the rain, it's only going into the low 80s today. That's about 10 degrees below normal for us at this time of the year. Crummy start to summer, if you ask me.

Dave - OMG! Good thing you went to the ER last night. Do you think what happened had anything to do with your procedure from last week to get your heart regulated? I know what you mean about steroids. They work wonders for me with my lungs, like right now, but I know things will slowly go back downhill once I am off them. I wa afraid last week that I was going into bronchitis when I went to the doctor. I know how easily I can go from bronchitis into pneumonia, so I wasn't taking any chances. You need to take it wasy for a few days to get back on track.
Sounds like Buddy is getting quite comfortable at your place and is already getting into things. Think he might need to be in a carrier while you go out until he gets over his evil ways?

Karen - Poor Wendy! She just can't catch a break. What a shock that must have been to lose her son just like that? I'll keep her in my prayers as she deals with this another loss in her family.

Kathy & Lee - Believe it or not, I actually like hockey, but being at a game in person. It's too hard to follow on TV and I haven't a clue who the players are. I guess I like it for the same reason I like football - It's violent!!! GO TAMPA BAY LIGHTENING!!!

Bill & Rita - What have you got going on this holiday weekend? I hope you'll get to spend time with family or friends.

Haven't heard any fireworks around here yet probably due to the terrible weather. They already sent out a warning about fireworks not being permitted in our community and that security will be sending out violation letters to anyone who doesn't comply. Well, guess what ... If it's dry people will still set off fireworks over our lake and violation letter be damned. Happens every year.

Time for me to get to work making potato and macaroni salads for tomorrow. I already boiled the potatoes, so at least that part of the job will move right alone. L&R are coming tomorrow from Ocala with their kids also, so I have to make more than I originally planned, so I better get to work.

Have a super day, everyone! :)
