Return of the Cruising Bunny's....

Glad to see your note Dave. I heard that Brian Hyland ditty a couple of times over the weekend. Sirius XM was doing their top summer songs from the 60's as voted by the listeners. I do enjoy 60's on 6. Especially the morning guy, Gordon "Phlash" Phelps. Reminds me a little old time radio without the commercials! Yes, a lot like A-Fib. What I feel is like having box of bolts bouncing around in my chest. Sometimes the bolts all line up like they should, other times they're all over the place. I was wondering if, provided things don't settle down, I may be a candidate for the same procedure you had to jump start your heart into a normal beat. Hmmm. Maybe that's what drained your battery. How many times have we told you to get a professional for some things. Not Kathi hooking the car battery up to your nipples!
not the nudie colony.
That's Bert's story and by cracky he's sticking to it! I used to love doing our wooden cabinets Pat but I used orange oil! Like you said it cuts through the grease and leaves them looking like new! I admire the way that Floridians deal with "bad" weather. Like Tony used to deal with earth quakes. Still, stay safe.
I did 20 minutes on the bike today. Tomorrow I get pushed a little harder at the Hospital where my rehab program is. Thankfully there's a Starbucks across the road so I can reward myself on the way home.
Currently feels like 104F here! Glad we were down to the river early again this morning.

Last bunny checking in...

Kathie, will be keeping you in my prayers that your surgery goes well tomorrow & you will soon be biking, hiking & doing all the things you have missed doing cause of that darn knee! Knowing you the freezer is full of meals & Art will just have the difficult task of deciding which one to thaw out for dinner...

Dave, my day's of itsy bitsy bikinis are long gone....I will spring for a 2 piece now that Jane finally has her pool up...I like to get tan on my belly too...why I have no idea cause nobody but me see's it...I just do

Pat, glad that Bert was able to track down some propane...I keep an extra tank on hand for my grill..but I've always been worried about keeping it in the garage...so mine is out in the far corner of my back patio under a plastic rubbermaid tote...the same place it's been for the last 4 yrs..I don't use the grill a lot..but it's a pain to run out in the middle of cooking something!!

Lee, your chicken stir fry sounds good...I've been craving some good chinese food lately...I think Pasta is on the menu here for dinner tonite. Sounds like Gail & Jim are just happy to finally be in their new place even if they do have to make do for a little while.
Weather here has been overcast for most of the day, but nothing major going on rain or wind wise...I did bring in my hanging plants small objects...and have my cell phone charging...other than that I'm not really doing much preparing...the weather people hype these storms up so much that until they tell me it's made landfall at Ocala airport I'm just not getting to shook up over them..

DAVE: Good to know that you're OKAY and only had GLITCH with your usual morning post.
STAYING inside is a EXCELLENT idea. Hope your car battery is still under some warranty.
Thanks for the Itsy Bitsy Jingle. LOL I can't remember when I had a BIKNI on this body! LOL

Karen: No meals made up in the freezer. Just have a good stock of things that can be put together. LOL

Pat: I think you should be good to go with all those TANKS of propane filled. We have 1 tank and it usually lasts one season and into the beginning of Winter.

I went and got my car washed because it's Tuesday and you save $2 bucks. This car was does a super job. My car really needed it.

Bought some veggies to have on hand and I'm good to go.

Jill called and said they
DO NOT HAVE HOT WATER! They have someone coming out today with a new tank. Mark can't lift anything with his bulging disk, so they'll just be dishing out a few bucks to have it done. Might be MONEY WELL SPENT if you ask me. They have a community pool in the subdivision with showers, etc and Jill said she went there last night after work and took a nice HOT SHOWER! Smart girl.

Lee: Hope you're not over-doing things by helping your neighbor out. Don't want you straining yourself. Good luck with your ReHab program tomorrow.

Later gang. I need to catch up on our mail. Seems like yesterday the mail lady passed us by and today there's a stack to go through. ALWAYS SOMETHING! ;)

We just got home from meeting up with Jill and Ashley. It started to rain and the WIND was blowing and as we drove down 24 Mile Rd way WEST of our area we saw that they must have had HIGH WINDS just come through. People were standing in awe in their driveways looking at all the trees that had fallen and branches everywhere. It was like a WAR ZONE. Police blocked off one intersection and we had to go over to 25 Mile to get home. CRAZY.
This hasn't happened like this in many years. By the time we got home the rain was down to a drizzle and our area must have been spared the WINDS.

You FLORIDA Belles please be careful the next few days.

Hot diggety damn, I got a new battery yesterday and it didn't cost me a dime. They even loaned me an extension long enough to reach down far enough to unbolt a hold-down tie. (Your usual socket set doesn't normally have an extension that long.)

Lee, as far as blood thinners, they recently switched me too to Xarelto from Plavix.) It's amazing how different thinners work differently. They also have me on a low dose aspirin every day. I too listen to 60's on 6, when I'm in Kathi's car.

Lots of luck on your surgery today, K2. WOW, 5:30 is an early time to show up at the hospital, but like you said, the sooner in the sooner out. You sure know how to get on the good side of your doctor by eating beans last night. You said you couldn't remember the last time you wore a bikini. I can't either.

Yea BB, we believe believe Bert didn't buy that propane at the nudist colony. Heck, anytime I need to buy some propane the fist place I shop is a nudist camp.

So you pretty much stick with one piece swimsuits, KC. Yea, me too. Hope Bellview didn't get hit too hard with that storm.

I was reminded of something I'd forgotten about car batteries yesterday when I switched them out. Those damn things weigh a ton. I had to take one of my opiate pain pills when I went to bed, for my back. Since I haven't driven it for a month because of all my medical treatments, not only did the battery go dead but bees had started building hives in both front doors by the top hinges. They couldn't get into the car but they could crawl in the crack between the front and the door panel. And one of those buggers stung me. Let's just say that both of those little beehives aren't there anymore.

One other thing about that car, I found the original window sticker price in the glove box. It's a 2006 Saturn Vue we bought brand new. The price of the car was $12,000. And that car had all sorts of bells & whistles. Heck, you can't buy ANYTHING for that price now.

I liked the way Saturn sold their cars. Their window sticker price was a "take it or leave it" price. You couldn't get them to throw in even a coffee mug. No negotiations, period.

Good morning from soggy Belleview....we've had rain off & on most of the night but nothing major at all...Elsa is still wandering around out there in the gulf so who knows where or when she will come ashore...so far no power outage or anything...but I did move my car out of the garage this morning just in case...I can do the opener disconnect thing to get out...but I'm not really sure how to do that or how to hook it back up again so it was just easier to move the car out now while i could...there are no trees or anything around me so no worries about my truck being out...I'll be back later to check on our star patient...

Good morning everyone.
Another nasty humid day forecast for us. We had the pups out to the Navy Yard before 8:00. A lot of the regulars were out early again as well.
Thinking if you Kathie. I hope Art stops at Starbucks on the way home so you can get a foo-foo drink!
So far so good with Elsa in your neck of the woods Karen. We hope that your power stays on the rains aren’t too heavy!
They took me off the 81 mg Aspirin when they put me on the Xarelto Dave. I think we all forget how heavy batteries are. That’s if you can even find them! One of the Chrysler 600‘s had it under the floor in the trunk! I liked the way Saturn did business. They didn’t care who you were the price was the price.
How’s tricks in your neck of FL Pat?
And Bill…how are you all doing?
Better get tidied up for my first rehab session.
Stay cool if you’re in for a crazy hot day. Stay safe if you’re in the vicinity of Elsa.
Be good everyone.

Good morning! Rule of the day here: Keep doors & windows locked and turn off all the lights. Company is not welcome today!!! I love our children, but enough is enough for a few days. The last few days have been hectic, but I see the light at the end of the tunnel - There are no more leftovers from 4th of July, so they won't be looking for us to feed them! Now I have to actually plan to cook tonight.

I hope our gal Kathie came through her surgery with flying colors and that she didn't drive the doctor crazy with lots of talk and constant questions. LOL Hoping for an update from her soon.

Lee - Good luck with your first rehab session. Be good and do what they tell you to do. Otherwise Kathie might show up and ask lots of questions and make suggestions too. LOL

Karen - Glad you too came through this non storm as well as we did. I always thought Elsa would love to go to Disney World, but I guess she'd rather just roam the waters off the Florida coast until she can find some land to plant herself on. We did get a couple of inches of rain. I can see it on the dock next door as to how high the water has come up. Right now the sun is shining, but I know that's not going to last, as there are still long bands of rain that will be passing through this area. Stay dry up your way. No swimming in the pool for you today!

Dave - Sounds like a good deal on that new battery. Sorry one bee got mad you invaded his home. Sad he had to make the ultimate sacrifice though, but it was a matter of either you or him, right?

I sent an email to Rita yesterday, but so far I haven't heard back from her, so who knows what's going on in their corner of the world. Hopefully, Bill will show up here one of these days to fill us in.

G&E brought over my 25 lbs of peaches last night. These peaches are huge! I sent some home with Missy and I gave some back to G&E, as she's going to be making peach moonshine and I want some. Too much work for this old gal and I know Elaine has a great recipe from her mother to make it. Then it has to be aged for a bit as the grain alcohol is just too strong to drink right away. Now I have to figure out what I'm going to do and where to put the rest of these peaches once they fully ripen up. Bert filled out freezer with lots of boiled peanuts last night, so space will be at a real premium for peaches. Something else for me to try to figure out!!

Time for a cup of coffee and make out a list of what all we need from Publix today, and no, Lee, I never got my fried chicken yesterday. :( I think pork chops and sauerkraut made in the pressure cooker sounds like a great meal for just the two of us tonight. Now Bert just has to find the pork chops in whichever freezer he put them in. This should be fun!!!

I'll check back later to see if we've heard from Kathie. In the meantime, have a great day, everyone. Stay dry, stay cool, and most of all, stay safe!:)

Checking to see if Kathie had given us an update. Art needs to learn how to post on here if required!
Oh Pat, I laughed thinking you were boarding up the windows, locking the doors and turning out the lights because of Elsa! Then I read that it was to keep the ”family hurricane” away for a day. So, neither of us had Publix fried chicken last night. Tonight is bruschetta topped salmon with Parmesan roasted potatoes.
My first rehab session went fantastic. My kinesiologist, Katie, walked me through the results of my assessment. She was glad that I have a goal of doing the Disney 5K in 2022. Before starting she weighed me, took my blood pressure and heart rate. Today I did 15 minutes on the treadmill and 15 minutes on the recumbent bike with the arm motion things. At 5 minute intervals Katie would take my heart rate and oxygen level while I exercised. After a cool down she took my “vitals” again to be sure I was returning to normal levels.
I better get Bear a shot of CBD oil. Storms are forecast and he’s already panting and pacing.
Stay safe one and all.

Hi gang. I’m alive. Propped up in bed after a really good sleep.
Everything went line a EXPENSIVE SWISS CLOCK REPAIR!
No traffic on the road at 4:30 a.m.
5 people in line ahead of me as we checked into hosp.
Everyone as nice as can be.
Doctor did his ‘thing’ snd came out and gave Art 2 sheets of colored photos of the inside of my knee.
As he had told ME when he saw the MRI he couldn’t repair the tear. He cleaned out as much Arthritis and area around as he could. Said that I would have to see if it will be better than it was before snd for how long.
Complete knee replacement will be needed and I would KNOW WHEN that would have to happen.
KEEP PRESSURE OFF OF KNEE FOR NEXT 2 WEEKS.

4:00 pm and it’s POURING RAIN HERE! I swear we got more than Florida did from last night until now. Amazing.

Thanks for ALL THE BEST WISHES AND CONCERNS. YOU ARE ALL THE BEST.

Art picked up 4 prescriptions and they came to $1.82. One was for 30 pain pills for $.88 cents. Wow.
So far just stiff, no real psin. I wonder how long before the numbness wears off. It’s in the distance but feels like a slight burning sensation.

Time to get my WALKER and take a heartburn anti-acid pill. Hate that feeling.
Love you all. ❤️

Good to know that everything went well Kathie! We’re glad to have you “home”. Now remember what you tell all of us…follow the doc’s orders, don’t overdo it and above all get better soon!

Nope, Kathie - you don't live in Florida today. We have had sun most of the day and it is 83 degrees here. I think the heck with cooking tonight. Maybe we'll head for the Grille instead! Glad all went well for you today and as Lee said - follow the doctor's orders.

I talked to Rita this afternoon. She's doing good and is so happy with their new place. We had one of our usual laugh filled conversations that only women can have, if you get my drift!! LOL ;);)

Kathie, DITTO glad the surgery went well & now you are home so Nurse Art can take good care of you!!

Pat, what a difference a few miles make in this state...we never saw the sun all day...we didn't get near the weather they were calling for...just rain off & on most of the day.... hope you get to enjoy your dinner at the grille tonite!

Lee, sounds like you are in pretty good hands at the rehab place...before you know it you will be running that Disney marathon...tiara , tutu & all! :D

Dave, glad to hear the battery swap did the trick...sorry to hear the wasps were not onboard with the plan...wow...$12,000 for a brand new car...you can't even find a decent USED car for that price these days!

Well, Jane has moved on to plan B with regards to a deck for the pool...instead of having me build a 4x4 deck she bought a 2nd set of the fancy above ground in pool steps to go on the OUTSIDE of the pool...Barb had already bought her a set to go inside the pool....So Jane found another set pretty cheap on FB marketplace so we went & picked them up this morning. I do still get to build a platform though...just not as big...I was really looking forward to the challenge of the deck but oh well...there will be other things to build I'm sure
After I left Jane's this morning I stopped at my friend Betty's house as she had called me yesterday to ask if I would move a small entertainment cabinet from her back florida room up to her front office...so of course I said yes...I forgot how heavy that stupid thing was...she said she had furniture sliders...but those things she had were useless...my back was letting me know that was NOT a good idea...but I got it moved for her...thank goodness for Aleve! I didn't sleep that good last night wondering what Elsa was going to do...so I think its time to get comfy now & just relax.... tomorrow I have no where to go & nothing to do...thank Goodness!

Karen glad you don’t have to build the deck, but not real happy you moved that HEAVY CABINET. Take Thursday off and give your back a rest.
Can’t wait to see James pool all decked out!

Pat: I think you deserve not to have to cook tonight. Hope the food was good at the Grille.
Time to ICE MY KNEE They tell you to do it on top of the wrapping.

Thanks again for all the support. You folks are the BEST!
