Long day & I'm beat...got the 12-12" patio blocks set & leveled for the base of the step area...took about 45 mins. and the sun was just hitting the area of the yard where I was working when I finished...got the front yard mowed & half the back when I called it a day around noon...Got a call from the eye Dr's this afternoon & my Dr. is unexpectedly out of the office so they had to reschedule my appt. for next month....so now it's back to Jane's tomorrow morning to hopefully finish up the rest of the step project & get her into her pool...and mow the other half of her back yard...
Had a nice little party for Jane's birthday...and of course ended up swimming in the rain...again...that's all from Belleview for tonite...I am ready to check out for the night...

Well Artie gets a
Atta-Boy PLUS for doing a excellent job on his grocery shopping venture. Amazing the man got everything on the list snd DID NOT buy anything extra like “COOKIES”. He said he thought about it when at Costco’s, but knew he’d just eat too many. He did GOOD!
Never did get the kitchen floor washed.

With all the rain and humidity we had a real nice crop of big mushrooms where we put down new sod in the Spring . Sure would be nice to know if they were editable or poison! Ha ha

Dave: How did you do with your test today?

Lee: Waiting for test results is the worst. I just bet they already have the results and just have to wait for the “doc” to give the okay to call you.
Sure hope Lu-Ann can find a specialist that the insurance will pay for. It would be closer if she could get into Henry Ford or one of the other big facilities in downtown Detroit.
Just have to wait until things open first.

Karen: How sad that you have to wait a MONTH to see the eye doctor. Good thing you said you liked this doctor. Still it’s a hard pill to swallow to wait that long. Keep doing the drops. Did they tell you to put warm moist cloths on it? Art is suppose to do that and forgets way too often. His appt last week actually showed improvement. He got the shot and will go 7 weeks instead of 5 weeks for his next appt.
I sure hope your appt will turn out good next month.
Glad you girls got to get in the pool even though it was raining. WET is WET! Get some rest girl.

BB: Good report from you girl. Nice that you got to go inside the store. You should go early while it’s not as hot. But WAIT….BERT is not up early. So much for that idea.
I heard on our evening News that the price of LUMBER is going down, but the builders haven’t started to pass that on to folks building in our area. Figures … that would be the right thing to do.

Okay time to ice the knee.

Later gang.

HEY KAREN…is Janes pool temp decent or cold? Does she have a bobbing temperature gizmo to let you all know what the temp is? Would be interesting to know if that pool is warmer or colder than your condo pool!

The holder for the chlorine tablets has a built in thermometer...it was reading 84 degrees the other day & when I was in the pool for a little bit on Sat. the temp was just about perfect....I would say her pool is warmer than the clubhouse pool because it's smaller...
The eye drops are for the glaucoma & as far as I know will be a forever after thing....no one ever said anything about using warm compress....I do know I spend more time on the computer than what I probably should...

Morning everybody!

Congratulations Lee on being fully vaccinated. That tree with the balls in the picture, Is that a pain when you need to trim it up? What do you use, scissors?

Loved those hacks, K2. Middle aged rich men used to buy fancy sports cars, now they buy spaceships.

BB; The Walmart here is also pushing everyone to use those self checkouts, while cutting back on human cashiers. Some say your Governor is vying to be named vice President if the Buffoon runs for President again.

I never did answer you question about my bee sting, KC. It never swelled up very much, but it really itched for about a week. With all your rain lately, you sure haven't had to worry about forgetting to water your flowers.

Yesterday's medical testing began right on time, but there was a slight glitch. Somewhere along the paper trail someone had written down the wrong test to be done. When the tech began she started doing things unlike all past artery flow tests I'd had done in the past. So I asked her what she was doing. Turns out her orders said to do testing on veins not arteries.

Here's an oddballer; Kathi was scanning the obituaries in the Massillon newspaper yesterday and noticed the name of a guy who had 18 letters in his last name. Hell he probably was in junior high school before he could spell his own name. And I'd love know how they fit it on his driver's license.

I learned last night that just one fly that gets in your house can drive you nuts. It was one of those zoomers that rarely lands so I could hit it with a fly-swatter. Plus it kept buzzing my head.

Today I wait on a call from my mechanic. He's to charge up the air conditioner and check out, and fix, a leak in the muffler or exhaust system.

Be good.......or post pictures.

Good morning!

Karen - Those 12x12 tiles can be wicked after a while when it comes to lifting them. Bet you're feeling it today. We have some of the larger ones and I leave it to Bert to move them around, if he wants to. They are just too heavy for lil ole me!!

Dave - So when the tech caught the mistake, was she able to change to the test you were supposed to have or do you have to go back another day for the right test? I hope it had been corrected right away. That really would be a very long name to learn how to spell. Worst still would be a poor teacher trying to say or or anyone else who might have to say that last name. Reminds me of a road out in the middle of nowhere in the Mojave Desert with absolutely nothing around. The road is Zyzzyx Road. Saw that over 50 years ago and never forgot the name. I know it is still named that, as I saw the sign once on something I was watching on TV. They also made areal bomb of a movie by that name too.

Kathie - Good for Art getting exactly what you wanted from the store. I envy you having a Costco close by. For us to go there, our closest is by the Mall of Millenia in Orlando. Easiest and scariest way to get there is by using I-4. Nuff said? Bert dropped our membership there, but they had so many things we couldn't get elsewhere. I really dislike Sam's which after all is really Walmart on steroids. I prefer BJ's, but Bert feels they are just as bad or even worse than Sam's. At least BJ's has a deli department that cuts lunch meats perfectly.

Today is Bert's hearing doctor appointment on the other side of Orlando. I'm not looking forward to the drive, but I get to sit in the car and wait for him. Today he will get his annual hearing test, so I will get to read for at least an hour with no distractions. Hopefully, that includes a lack of rain too, if I'm lucky.

The roof trusses for M&J's house arrived yesterday and I wouldn't be surprised if they are not up by this afternoon. Just need to get the crane in there to lift them into place while workmen nail them in place. Too bad we won't be around or I'd video some of it for M&J. Missy won't be coming to clean today, as we won't be home and she's busy packing at their place. The POD got delivered this morning, so they can start loading it. They have to be out of the trailer in about 2 weeks, so it's time to hustle and get the packing and cleaning done.

Once again the laundry is calling. I've been ignoring it going off, but the time has come that I must answer the call or everything is going to get wrinkled in the dryer.

Have a wonderful day, everyone. Be kind to one another and behave! :)

Good afternoon all. At least least it’s better than the morning…EXCEPT FOR THE CONSTANT “Off and On” rain. It just started again as I’m typing. More MUSHROOM coming for sure.

Art is going to be one WET biker today. He should have never gone this morning. But “Boys will be Boys”!

Dave: Bummer on the test mix-up. Good thing you KNEW WHAT SHE WAS SUPPOSE TO BE DOING! Another case of being your own patient ADVOCATE and staying on top of things! So did you get the correct test or not?

BB: Sounds like you will soon have a full house. Time to have Bert buy a few bottles of Booze and BRIBE the workers to work faster on M&J’s house. Ha ha. Just kidding. Drunk workers would not be a good thing.
So QUESTION: What happens to the chickens and any other farm animals M&J has in the barn area? I think Missy was trying to find the chickens new homes….just not sure. The kids are going to miss the pond, barn and open area of that property. Also cutting the grass with the big ride-on mower too!
Post some pictures when the trusses go up
I give you a lot of credit going on the long car drives with Bert and waiting in the car. I guess at least it gets you out of the house.

So I spent at least 2.5 HOURS calling various doctors offices and BCBS insurance to get Co-Pays either paid or removed! Waiting on HOLD is what took up a lot of the time. Or they were out to lunch. (In more ways than one) :emoticon 0136 giggle:
I did manage to get a $25 office visit charge removed. It was for getting the PRE-SURGERY Covid testing done in the doctors office. I explained to the Office Mgr that if I was told there was going to be a $25 office charge I would have gone to our County Health Dept for free. After all the insurance company PAID THEM for the Covid test which took 3 mins! She was nice and said they would reverse the charge and that gives me a zero balance.

FYI folks: If you don’t ask you would never know if they would reverse the charge. I LOVE the CHALLENGE of trying.

Karen: Hope you’re doing okay today in all your projects. Those 12 x 12 tiles had to be a killer job. We need some pictures of this POOL and STEPS, ETC.
I take it there are stairs inside the pool for you gals to get up and out of the pool.

Lee: Not sure what you were up to today. Hope you made it to the park
in-between the rain drops.
It’s now 2:30 pm Tues and the SUN is showing it’s face a tad for the first time in 2 days. Not sure how long it will stay out. But I know the humidity is going to GO UP BIG TIME FAST! More Mushrooms in the new grass area!

Art just got home. ALL WET! He went directly to the shower! Ha ha.

Off of here to do pay the utility and a few other normal bills ON-LINE.
Good thing I am able to use my ipad for all this and get to keep my leg straight out on the couch. I’ve got the ice on it off and on too.

Later gang.

Good afternoon folks.
We usually end up making a run to that Costco in Orlando Pat. We may not now that the pups are on special gastro diets. We used to get their kibble there. The houses behind us are going up so quickly it's unbelievable. They seem to get the crane in to do 3 or 4 roofs at a time. Hope that the rains hold off and Bert isn't too long with the hearing doctor!
Actually Dave, we got a mini cordless hedge trimmer. It has a 6" blade like a large hedge trimmer and a "grass trimmer" that we use to shape the balls. It's not too bad a job at all! I cut from the bottom up just as if I were trimming a full sized hedge. I hope that the phone call from the mechanic doesn't come with a big price tag! How do the pups react to a fly in the house?
I always ask the people directing me to self checkouts (I usually refuse them) why they are so interested in putting themselves or the coworkers out of a job. I did have one Costco guy say "because I don't like them and I have seniority". Nice team player.
Aren't those slabs about 25 pounds each Karen? Or would you rather not think about that? Weren't you worried about getting wet swimming in the rain? :p Ya, my Mom used to make me get out of our friends pool if it started to rain. Made no sense to me. At least you got the call from the doc ahead of time. Not while you were on your way to see him!
You need to make Art a "I did good" button Kathie! It's hard to not pick up stuff that we know we don't need at Costco! You get so many treats for so few dollars! We did get to the park before it rained too hard this morning. Then we dropped coffee and muffins at Jim and Gail's while they waited for the mover to arrive.
Lu-Ann got her results while we were there. I can see my PSA results on line the day after my test.

After that I headed up to the rehab hospital for my first "real" session. It was a good session with warm up, cool down and a couple of checks of heart rate and oxygen levels along the way. I did 30 minutes on the elliptical machine today. Katie had me do that because I've been doing the bike and treadmill here at home.
We're under a severe thunder storm watch right now. usually when we get clouds, sun, clouds and sun with humidity that's the perfect recipe for nasty weather.
I'm going to let the pups out and pick up their "gifts".
You all have a fantastic rest of the day!

Good afternoon...and for a change it isn't raining....(yet)

Dave, sure hope you don't get charged for the test they were doing that they weren't supposed to!! Good thing you were aware that something wasn't right....someone who'd never had the test you were supposed to get wouldn't have a clue they were doing the wrong one..

Kathie, you have more patience than I do when dealing with insurance & Dr. billing...I try to make sure the bills are correct but they sure don't make it easy to decipher there billing codes...

Lee, glad the rehab sessions are going well...and aren't cordless battery powered tools just the greatest invention ever!! My little black & decker drill got a work out this morning & performed like a champ!

Pat, so does that mean 2 more weeks of peace & quiet at your house before the thundering tribe arrives to stay again?
Hope they get Bert's hearing test done right today...I don't live in the area but even I dread anytime I do have to drive I-4...

The 12x12 patio blocks are not that heavy to set & level...I was originally going to use 16x16 and THOSE would have been a royal pain!! Didn't get near as much done again as I'd hoped...first off I couldn't start cutting the 4x4's right away because the ground outside was just to wet...so had to wait around a half hour or so before I finally said to heck with it & set up my cut station so I was standing on the dry cement instead of wet grass...the the 4 posts cut & set & screwed into the base...then 1 2x4 brace on the top...I needed Jane's help keeping the posts steady & level while I drilled screws in to secure them to the base...somehow in the process of securing the 4x4's to the base one of them must have slipped & we didn't catch it...so now I have to unscrew & re-level that one.. once we got that little bit done the sun was up high again & Jane can't stand & take the heat as well as I can...so we quit that project for the day & I finished mowing the back yard...Thurs. I will be back to work on the deck project again...
Here are a couple pictures so you can kind of get an idea about what I am trying to do...

Lee: Sounds like you did good at your 1st total rehab session. Good for you being able to do the Elliptical that long! Keep up the good work.
Hope the test results come back showing good numbers for you. And for Lu-Ann too!

Karen: Thanks for the pool pics. Can’t wait to see more as you go on. Man that pool is huge! Get your Purple Floaty ready to put in there .

The tiles and posts look good. Are you pouring cement around the outside edge of those tiles to keep them in place?

I’m watching the BASEBALL All-STAR game st Coor’s
Field in Denver. It looks like EVERY SEAT IS FILLED! It took me a while to finally find a fan with a MASK ON!

Dave: I forgot to ask how did “Buddy” do while you guys were out of house for the appt Or did Kathi stay home with the pups?

Tonight I need to take something to help me sleep. Last night was horrible. I am NOT a BACK sleeper and just couldn’t find a comfortable position. I think I finally dozed off around 6’ish.

Time to make some popcorn’

Okay….catch you all sometime Wed.
Be good and SAFE.

Pat: Good job on house pics. Hope it’s okay to post one here for the Wrabbits to see.

Hiya, Hiya, Hiya Bunnies.

Only thing on our schedule today is meeting with the doctor to discuss results of Monday's testing. And YES, the tech ended up giving me the artery blood flow test after I questioned her start on a vein blood flow test. (Which had been on her orders.)

But here is a hoot; Yesterday I get a call from the doctor's office asking if I could come in early today to do the vein test which had been on the tech's order. So I questioned it again. And once again they checked my records and decided that I in fact had been given the proper test, and forget about coming in early.

Neat to see the picture of the pool and the start of the deck. Thanks KC.

Not too late to board up the doors and windows of your house, BB. If the roof on the new house isn't yet finished, the "invaders" are going to be at your place for a long time.

K2; The longer I'm on hold the grumpier I get. Back when Carona Virus shots were hard to get, Kathi spent hours and hours on hold, and tracking down where you could get them that day. Thanks for the house picture. No accidents from Buddy lately while we're away.

A 6 inch hedge trimmer. That even sounds cute Lee. A glitch came up at the auto mechanic's yesterday. He had all the repairs made, but when he took the car out for a test drive to make sure everything worked right, he noticed one of the brakes was grabbing. (Not something on my list.) So he's going to fix that today.

For now, it's time for some hot Italian sausage, and then see how much time my legs will tolerate on the treadmill.

Doctor's visit isn't till 11.

Good MID-Morning Wrabbits! SUNNY outside! Yippee. Makes the day so much easier to tolerate while confined to the house and deck! It's going to be a REALLY HUMID day. :emoticon 0100 smile:
The sleeping aid must have worked last night. I didn't toss and turn and watch the clock hands go around and around.

DAVE: Glad you were able to get the correct test and GOOD for YOU being able to get the results today. This is the type of appointment that might have been able to be done over the phone. Let us know just how long you sit inside the office waiting room and then how much TIME the DOCTOR spends with you once she/he actually walks into the exam room. There are times when I actually set the STOP-WATCH feature on my Cell Phone and press it when the doctor finally walks into the exam room to see just how long she/he is in the room! I do leave the phone in the side pocket of my purse so the doctor never see's it. :emoticon 0122 itwasntme: Ha Ha

So Dave, is this doctor just checking your blood flow in your legs or is this getting you ready for a procedure to get more blood going through your legs? Just wondering???? (as usual)

Art drove himself to the Ophthalmologists office about a mile from here as the crow fly's. It's a final check-up for the last Cataract he had done in March. I feel bad that I couldn't drive him there, but he said he'll have his heavy duty sunglasses on and it's so close to home he should do fine driving home. SURE.....!!!

I really have nothing more right now and don't want to just ramble on uselessly. I'll be back later to see what you all have been up to. Time for some oatmeal w/fresh blueberries on top. Quickly made in the microwave so I don't have to stand and stir it.

Enjoy your day and be safe folks.

Good morning, everyone! Lots of early morning yacking on here with lots of talk about going to various type doctors. I guess it's just one of those type days!!

It's going to be a busy day around here for me and most of that will be fiddling in the kitchen. G&E are coming for dinner tonight and I'm making salmon for dinner. I'm taking advantage of all those delicious peaches we have and I'm making peach salsa to go with the salmon. I also want to make some zucchini bread now that Bert finally got zucchini. I wasn't planning to go in this direction, but as long as we've got the zucchini, I may as well use it. I also have to make a stick of lemon butter to put on the salmon as it bakes. Plus I want to come up with some kind of an appetizer for before we have dinner. I'm getting tired just thinking about all this work!!!

Kathie - No problem with your having posted the picture of M&J's house progress, but please as first next time before you do this.
I always said I could not sleep on my back, but after hearing from a friend who broke her hip and had to sleep on her back, I started doing it and once you get used to it, it's really quite comfortable. Now I do that more than sleeping on my side. Go figure!
I hope Art's cataract checkup goes well and he has no problem driving home.

Dave - We already anticipate M&J, plus 2 children and 2 BIG dogs are going to be with us until around the end of November, if we're lucky and the builders get over some of the many shortages they are experiencing right now. I know, I know ... You don't have to tell me that we're nuts to do this. We know we are, but will survive it once again
with the help of a lot of alcohol!!!

Time to wake Bert up, so I better close this post for now. Have a fantastic hump day, gang! :)

A glitch came up
From the Latin "this is gonna cost you more". /yes, those mini hedge trimmers are great. This morning at The Navy Yard one of the parks guys was using them to trim the plants that spell out "Amherstburg". Good to know that Buddy is "holding his own".
Pat, I do like the open concept of Missy and Jimmy's place. ;) It's funny how building codes and location dictate the different "builds" of new homes. No block walls here! But I wish there were. Peach salsa, salmon and zucchini bread. Now you are just plain teasing me!
I'm still trying to piece together the stairs and patio for Jane's pool Karen. I'm sure that it will all make sense once it's up. That is a good sized pool though!
Kathie, I had a heck of a time sleeping when I first came home because I'm a side sleeper and that was a big no no. You need your rest tot recover but you can't get a right proper sleep because of how you have to sleep. That's Why I resorted to the Lazy Boy. We went to Costco this morning and treated ourselves to a Starbuck's Breakfast. We like the low fat turkey bacon (there shouldn't be such a thing!) breakfast sandwich and blueberry yogurt muffin. Ya, we split them.
And now, while it's dry, I'm gonna go cut half the back yard. Lu-Ann will share cutting' duties.
Back later.
Be good and stay well.

FYI: Art made it home and got a decent report. He still has dry eye and needs to be MORE DELIGIENT with DAY TIME Drops and now will use a thicker gel at night. He said he has been doing drops everyday for the past 2 weeks. Sure he has.........he knew he was going to go to see the "EYE DOCTOR" today. Ha Ha. I'm not monitoring this procedure. He's on his own. :emoticon 0122 itwasntme:

LEE: I am dying for a nice Starbuck Carmel Ribbon Crunch Latte and a piece of the Lemon Loaf. Going on 1 week without a Starbucks is like crazy. And NO....I just wouldn't ask Art to stop and get me one. He's not big on drive-thru's! LOL (can't hear the person behind the screen all that well)!

Sounds like another fantastic menu that you're whipping up.
And as far as having all those people and pets in your house again, at least this time you know that they will want to be MOVING into their NEW HOUSE as FAST as they can. So there is a "light at the end of the tunnel"! I'm sure you'll all do just fine. Just don't think that YOU have to do all the work while they are living there.
Allow them to do their fair share. There's always your bedroom to retreat to when needed. I'd be looking for one of those small Cube type refrigerators to have COLD WINE ready when needed in the room!

Checking in & checking out for the evening....it's been a long day...2 hrs. each way from Orange Park just outside Jacksonville...plus the service, plus the after service meal meant we were gone a full 8 hrs...but it was a nice service & we got to see all of Wendy's daughters that we don't normally see, plus some of the grandkids...I'm just glad Barb was doing the driving & all I had to do was ride...
Going to Jane's in the morning to hopefully finish the pool project ....catch up with you all tomorrow...
