Return of the Cruising Bunny's....

Hello folks!
It stopped raining about 9:00 this morning. We headed out with Katie and Ava and enjoyed our walk by the river. then we headed up to the tile place to pick up a corner shelf for the bathroom shower. We have two shelves for soap, shampoo and stuff but Lu-Ann would like a lower one to use as a foot rest for shaving her legs. Then over to Lowes for some plant food and home.
Dave, I can't tell you how much your goal of 10" of hair to donate impressed me. Well done sir. We are still all masked indoors unless you are dining. Frankly I hope it stays that way for a good while.

Why yes Kathie...That's for you and Art as you head into a big box store in scooters! "Manifest" was on network TV here. I think that while it had a loyal following the ratings weren't that good so it got canned. That darned Delta variant is everywhere. It will be interesting to see if Ontario's cautious approach to reopening matters a hill of beans or not. Yes, there is talk of a gradual reopening of the border to vaccinated visitors later this summer. I imagine that could change if the numbers on either side rise out of control again. :canada::usa1:
Karen, I have to ask...did your sisters not think about getting in and out of the pool before the big purchase? That's a heck of a lot of work on your part if they can't find a solution. You are simply, well, too good of a person.
Nice to hear that the chicken wings, like all of us, improved with age Pat. Now this "Crazy Monkey Sex" of which you speak...is that on National Geographic TV or one of those naughty channels? All kidding aside, with all of the computer generated things is there a program out there that would allow you to take a picture of the outside of your home and then add stones to it? Maybe if Bert saw the concept he may be more liable to like the idea. As far as the sleeping aides for me, I simply gave up on them. I'd take 1/2 or a whole pill at bedtime and still wake up, like clockwork, at 12:30, 3:00 and 5:30. I didn't mind 5:30 so much because I get up with the pups and let them out. Then they all go back to sleep until I feed them about 6:30.
Off I go. Not sure what's on tap for dinner tonight. I like it when our food box comes. Three good meals that force you to eat right. It's a way too easy to slip onto the "Let's order a pizza" frame of mind.
Enjoy the rest of the day and above all else, stay safe.

Good evening....I am happy to report that todays plan of attack for the pool steps looks like it's going to work....here are a couple pictures of todays progress...it got to hot to soon so I didn't get as much done as I wanted...Jane & I came over to my pool around 1:30 and Barb joined us after work...I need to return some of the wood I bought & didn't need & buy a couple more 2x4's that I was short on...and screws...used a LOT of screws today...Monday I hope to finish the rest of the handrails & put the treads on the steps & it will be done...as to why they didn't think about how they would get in the pool before they bought it...who knows...they "thought" they would still be able to climb the ladder to get in...but they are both older & heavier than they were 30 yrs ago when Jane had her other pool...Jane also has a bum knee & climbing the ladder just wasn't happening...with any luck Jane will be able to sell the ladder & 1 of the sets of stairs & make enough to pay for the material we used for the deck....

That looks like it will be easier for Jane and Barb! Hopefully they can sell the bits they don’t need to cover the material costs. And a little lunch for the builder.

Karen: Thanks for the pictures. It helps us SIDEWALK SUPERVISORS know what you're doing. Ha Ha. Art looked at the stairs and said those should be much easier for the sisters to climb up and get into the pool.
Now are they going to be able to get OUT of the POOL is our next Question. More pictures.

Lee: We had PIZZA for dinner. It wasn't the best and I feel like I wasted a lot of calories on OVER CHEESED PIZZA. That's what I get for not cooking tonight. Nice Video Lee. Always up for some adventure.

The kids came by to say hello this afternoon. (SAT) They were going to a few TILE shops. They're having 2 bathrooms re-done soon and wanted to see what was out there to choose from. They were OVERWELMED! They're on a contractors list to have this done. Seems like everybody is so busy you have to be patient these days.
It was nice to see them and MARK since he will be going in for the ruptured disk on Tuesday. Poor guy has to do a lot of STANDING these days because it hurts to sit.

We watched 2 more episodes of MANIFEST tonight.
I'm ready to call it a night right after I watch the balance of the NEWS.

Have a good Sunday folks. Wear your MASKS no matter what anybody says. Ha Ha.

OUTSTANDING KC! That new set of pools steps you designed and made looks mighty fine. And with all those screws and strong handrails I'm quite sure it's stable. You should be proud of yourself.

BB; You literally made me laugh out loud with your comment about maybe offering Bert some "crazy monkey sex" to get that home improvement that you want.

It's an interesting coincidence that Jennifer gave her hair to "Locks of Love". That's the same organization I'll be sending my ponytail to.

I like that idea of getting 3 healthy meals sent in, Lee. Not a whole lot of wondering on what to have, and I bet it sure cuts down on a lot of junk foods. Is it a week's supply each time?

This pandemic and the closed border will just drag on and on until people start acting as a team, and doing what's in the public's good. Instead of just what's in their own selfish interests.

Yes K2, Kathi is planning on before and after pictures of the haircut she's been hinting at for quite some time.

Nothing much planned for today except for me getting on the treadmill.

Good morning! No work projects planned for today so I get to chat with all you folks for a change!

Kathie, getting out of the pool was not an issue...the steps inside the pool were not as steep as the one's we were trying to use outside..plus the water helps to "boost" you up....
Aren't those little store carts fun! I never use them unless I am at Sam's club & then I do...my back just can't take wandering all over that place any more...

Dave, nice going on growing the hair to donate for kids wigs....you might want to do a little research on Locks for Love...I've heard that they charge cancer patients for the wigs they make...don't know for sure that it's true but I do know there is another group that does not...I think it's called Wigs for Kids...
Glad to hear your nephew got the shed up....and in 1 day....I've been working on my project for over a week now....

Pat, maybe if you sweeten the deal with Dinner AND Hot Monkey Sex Bert might come around to the idea of upgrading the house...or the shock of both might just do him in, so maybe hold off on that idea...

Lee, hopefully the slow pace of openings in Canada will help keep the infection rate down...unlike our bonehead gov. who want's everything open...no masks....and no proof of vaccination required for cruising...and the ones cheering him on are t's crazy base....

Nothing much going on here lately except working at Jane's....I went to the pool for a little while on Friday but none of the poolies were there....I did see my friend Deb for a few minutes...but otherwise I haven't talked to anyone in over a week...hopefully I can get finished over at Jane's and start spending a little more time at home....for now...I think I'll have another cup of coffee out on the porch before it gets to hot...enjoy the day all! Stay Dry/Cool/ Hydrated!

Quick good morning before we head for the Grille and brunch. We are meeting 4 friends there and M&J are on their way there too. Time for them to check up on this week's progress on their house!

:mad::mad: Is all I can say about our stone discussion. Sure glad I didn't waste a good meal or that monkey sex. El Cheapo said he doesn't like the stone fronts.:mad::mad:

I'll be back later. Have a wonderful day, everyone!:)

Good Sunday to you all!
El Cheapo said he doesn't like the stone fronts
Well, El Cheapo, your Mexican gardener may not like the stone but how about Bert? :p I still say give the Wild Monkey Sex a try Pat. What have you got to lose? Enjoy that brunch and visit with friends and family.
I'm glad to see you taking at least a little time for yourself Karen. You are always on the go and taking care of others.
Ah Kathie, isn't it a bummer when you waste calories on a less than tasty meal? Please wish Mark a rapid recovery from his procedure. There are so many choices when it comes to tile, flooring, paint and so on. I don't envy Jill and Mark one tiny bit is having to make their choices.
I was telling friends about your quest for two more inches to have enough to donate to an organization that makes wigs for little folks with cancer Dave. They too think that is just plain neat. About our food boxes...there are a number of services here in Ontario. We use Hello Fresh and Good Food. I like Hello Fresh because the delivery day is Tuesday. We select three meals - you can pick more - so Tues, Wed and Thurs dinners are covered. Often we get a lunch or the better part of lunch after our dinner the next day too. We get to pick our meals so this week, for example, we have Mediterranean Tortellini with Pesto Sauce and Roasted Veggies; Chicken and Nectarine Summer Salad with Pepitas and Basil; and Lemon Butter Basted Salmon with Couscous and Green Beans. They send you everything you need to make the meal except salt (which I have to be careful with anyway), pepper, oil and butter if required. I'm always impressed wit the quality and "shelf life" so if you don't get to everything right away it's good for a few days!
I see it's time to get the pups out. After all the rain the other day today is bright, sunny and hot. 84F but feeling a tick over 90F.
Please everyone, enjoy the rest of this Sunday.

Once again dropping by for a quick post. Brunch was great, as usual. We arrived at 10:30 and didn't leave until after 1:00! Lots of fun chit chat with mimosas to wash all the food down. Only thing that got me angry was that they raised the price on the mimosas for another carafe of juice. Used to be you got either or both orange juice and cranberry juice. Now if you want the second carafe, they charge extra for it. Doesn't really bother us, as we only need one thing of the orange juice and we were good. We had a terrible server who tried to charge us for the orange juice. As soon as I saw it, that wasn't going to happen and she had to figure out how to take the extra charge off the bill. She also included in the tip even though we had 4 separate checks. She actually ended up with lower tips than she would have had she not added in the tip.

M&J went and inspected their house progress and then came back here for a couple of hours. They finally left to go home to continue packing.

Eight now I am waiting for G&E to get here for dinner. Nothing fancy tonight. Just the charcuterie board, pizza rolls and spicy chicken nuggets with ice cream for dessert.

Only got about 3 hours of sleep last night, so I am really beat today. I am also ignoring El Cheapo. He tried to be nice by getting me a glass of wine, but it didn't help. I am still so pi$$ed at him that he won't even indulge me and has his mind made up that he doesn't like stone on the front of any of the houses. I'm so glad Gary was open to the kind of things Elaine wanted to do at their place and didn't have a closed mind like his father.

Kathie - Wish Mark well from us that his surgery will go well and he will recover quickly from it.

Karen - Nice that you took a day for yourself for a change. Those stairs look really good. You did a great job. Now lay off the projects for a while and go enjoy your pool and friends in your community.

Dave - Can't wait to see before and after pictures when you get your haircut. I bet the shorter hair will make you look years younger too!

Almost time for the crew to get here, so it's time for me to call it a night here. Enjoy the rest of your evening and I'll see you all tomorrow. :)

Good Monday morning!

Not quite totally done in one day for our shed, KC. Nephew/Contractor has the tar paper on the roof, but having a bit of trouble finding shingles to match those on the house. Hope he shows up with them today, or at least something real close.

Nice hearing that you are planning on spending time home and getting reacquainted with your friends.

Sorry to hear that "El Cheapo" has taken such a negative stance on stone fronts, BB.

My goodness Lee, the things you get to choose from in your food boxes sound like stuff on BB's diner menus.

K2; Wishing Mark the best on his surgery this week.

Once again, nothing much planned for today. Other than the treadmill. Sometime this week we want to stop by Outback and pick up a Bloomin-Onion. In the past, leftovers of one never reheated well. Until I found out that putting them back in a deep fryer worked pretty good. So now, I'm guessing that our air-fryer will also do the trick. Soon to find out.

Heading out in a few to hopefully finish up the steps at Jane's...

Kathie, I hope you didn't over do it & hurt your knee cleaning the floor the other day...not like you to not show up with a post or 2 during the day...

Good morning! Another beautiful day here. Yesterday we had no rain, but all around us had an inch of rain or more. I think we live in a bubble!

Kathie - I'm also wondering where you are and how come there was no posts from you yesterday. Definitely not like you at all. I do hope everything is OK in Michigan.

Karen - I bet you'll be glad to see this pool project over and done with. Turned out to be a lot more than expected, for sure. It's time for you to take a break and tell your sisters NO next time they come up with another job they want sister Karen to do for them.

Dave - I'll be curious as to how the Bloomin Onion comes out in the air fryer. I would think it would work great. Nice that you have nothing else planned. I have to make that pot of gravy I never got to the other day. The gang will be back on Wednesday for baked ziti, so I want to get that over and done with. Of course, that leaves me with not the slightest idea about what to make for dinner tonight. It definitely will not be that awesome bribery dinner I had planned. Maybe I'll give El Cheapo what he deserves - Cold shoulder on toast!!

Missy was associate of the month at work and got to pick a gift for herself. She chose this really cool spiralizer that will make 10 different types of vegetable spaghetti, curly fries or even potato chips. Might have to look into getting one of those gizmos myself. Great for making zucchini or yellow squash "spaghetti". Good for the waistline too!! M&J do a lot of keto food and low carb stuff, as opposed to those of us who have never met a carb we didn't like. Should be an interesting couple of months for sure.

Lee - G&E have ordered from Hello Fresh to and they really like it. If Elaine had her way, they would be eating all Vegan food at that house. At times, Gary will let her indulge in that direction, but he's still a meat & potatoes type guy.

I don't know which to do first now - have another cup of coffee or throw another load of laundry on. Such earth shattering decisions. I guess I should start by getting off here for a while and then get to work. Have a super day, gang. Behave yourselves and keep that mask on! :)

Hi gang!
Thanks for all good wishes for Mark’s back surgery Tuesday.
My goodness you folks sure did do some major CHATTER on here!
Thanks for worrying about me when I was missing in action! I’m doing really good.
Not sure how long I can get away without having the knee replacement, but like the saying goes “IF IT’S NOT BROKEN LEAVE IT ALONE”! (or something like that)

I really don’t have much to chat about today. Sitting on the deck watching Art trim the scrubs. Hard to watch somebody else do MY JOB!
Here are some pics of Art trimming now! And a picture of the tallest cherry tomato plant we’ve ever had that is in a pot by the deck. Too funny that it is growing so well. 7CDDE8D4-0555-43A0-ACA6-0A4BF8A8E2F2.jpeg3B1BB2C9-E4D7-4E65-827B-571A107430F5.jpeg4EC41EC4-AEF0-4B0E-9603-03CD2B19BADC.jpeg

Ya know that beautiful day I mentioned in the above post? Well, forget about it! It's pouring here right now. It's got to be close to an inch of rain has fallen and is still coming!! What a difference and hour can make!!

Hey Kathie - I see you popped in while I was typing. Nice that all is well in your world. Great pictures. That tomato plant really is huge, but where are the tomatoes? Bert's had that happen also. Lots of plant and few tomatoes. He's now pulled out all the tomato plants and is ready to start our second growing season.

Good morning.
I'm playing "doctor roulette" this morning. My heart rate is abnormally high and has been all weekend. I can check it on the stationary bike, treadmill and of course my Apple Watch. I tried the Dr. Mikhail, the cardiologist, and his receptionist Marci said "He is overbooked but I will try to get an answer for you today". I called Maria the rehab nurse practitioner and asked if she could reach out to Dr. McFarlane who is my rehab cardiologist and had to leave a message. I called my family doctor and left a message there too. As a last resort I reached out to my baby SiL who works for a cardiologist in Toronto. Her doctor isn't in either but Stacy said as long as I wasn't nauseous, dizzy etc thought that my A-Fib was back and just not going away. I trust her because she gets calls from patients and relays the doctor's answers to them. ARGH!!!
I like the variety offers by Hello Fresh Pat. Everything from "meat n' taters" to spicy selections to vegetarian choices. It's neat that if you need 1 1/2 ounces of some obscure seasoning that's what they send you. One wonders what kind of toast you serve with cold shoulder?

those of us who have never met a carb we didn't like.
That made me chuckle! About the rain...sorry to hear that it has come so quickly and so much!
I suspect that the air fryer will do the trick with the bloomin' onion Dave. Hey, can't hurt to give it a try. How old are the shingles on the house that your nephew is trying to get close to matching?
Lu-Ann let me know that your stair project seems to be a success Karen! Good on you for sticking with it. Now enjoy some more "me" time!
Yes Kathie, hopefully all is A-OK in your neck of the woods and nothing was strained or over worked. I'm sure that you will all be worried about Mark's procedure tomorrow. That will make you a tad tired too! I see you popped in and posted some ice photos of your garden. It's simply beautiful.

I should run.
Stay safe and sound everyone.

Afternoon check in from Macomb. I’m still just sitting the deck. Ha e bottle of water with me. I’m determined to drink more water. I keep telling others to do it and I need to drink more too!

LEE: Sorry about your AFib acting up. Hopefully your are on some type of AFib pill. If it gets too out of control and you’re not getting any replies from the doctors office go to the ER. Mondays have to be crazy in doctors offices. Almost as bad as the day after a hurricane in a Insurance Office. Everybody needs help. Hope you get some answers soon.
I need to clear out a few items in our refrig and give Hello Fresh a try one of these days. When they send you meals that use CHICKEN is it frozen? And is the meat good? And do you have to sign up for a long-term agreement?

PAT: Their are about 100+ cherry tomatoes on that silly tall plant. Except for 2 they are all STILL GREEN. Hard to see in the picture from so far away. We’ll have a good crop of Red ones soon. Art read somewhere that tomatoes like it a little cooler at night to start changing colors. We haven’t had that break in evening temps lately. Just nice 70F the last few evenings.

Okay, I think I have maxed out on this deck sitting. It’s 82F and under this huge awning it has to be even warmer. We need a OUTDOOR ceiling fan to move the AIR around out here.

Take are….later gang.

Good afternoon....and yes indeed the stair project is "almost" complete....I need to finish up the handrail at the very top deck...I didn't have a piece of 2x4 left that was long enough to finish it today...I thought for sure I had some at home but can't find it now...Jane can get in & out of the pool just fine as is...but we are thinking Barb might feel steadier with a bit more support at the top...I need to buy more 2x4's for the next project any way so will just figure it into the total...now Jane want's me to build a small high top table to set by the edge of the pool for drinks...phones & other small items...won't be any big deal since there will be nothing heavy on it...

Lee, sorry to hear your heart rate is up to high...LuAnn wasn't vacuuming in her French Maid outfit all weekend was she?

Kathie, good to see you are ok...Prayers & good thoughts going out for Mark's procedure! Lovely pictures of your flowers & plants too!

Dave, hope the nephew can find shingles to finish the shed job...do you have those Habitat Re-Stores where you live? A lot of times you can find odd discontinued items there really reasonable....

Here are a couple pic's of the finished stairs...I think they turned out very well...and they are nice & sturdy...which makes me even happier!!

Karen - Steps look great. You did a good job!!! I have to ask a question though ... Do your sisters lie in bed at night thinking about more projects for you to do? Heck, They could buy a bistro set for on the deck and save you from more work. Tell them to give you a d*mn break already. Big Lots comes up with all sorts of close out specials which could work on the deck.

Lee - I hope this is all just another glitch in getting you back on the road to being healthy. I hope you get your AFib behaving like it is supposed to. I agree, that if you can't get a doctor to address your issues right now, head for the ER.

A word to the wise - - - Don't ever pi$$ off a Jersey Girl! You're going to pay for it in the end! Got a couple of things cooking right now and there's someone who is going to cave on a number of issues in the coming weeks. Trust me!!!

First stage of my plan - Going to Manny's Chophouse for dinner tonight. Woo Hoo!!! This is also probably going to include a new car plus a look into stone on the front of the house. Man, I have to say I AM REALLY REALLY GOOD!!!! LOL

Feeling much better than I have for the past couple of days and that makes me a happy camper!!!:bash01::clap002::hug::)
