Good Morning Wrabbits. Funny how we do a EXTRA GOOD BRUSHING of the teeth when we have a Dental apppoitment.
DAVE: Nice of the doctor to save you a trip back for Kathi's appt. YIKES.....$150 for your share a prescription! Did you ever think to call the MFG and ask if they could put you on one of their compensation deals. I hear about that on TV or Radio all the time. Can't hurt to try. All they can say is no. You might get it FREE because you're a Vet and a good Guy! I think you're a Veteran anyways!

Okay, folks I need to get moving here. I'll be back later. Karen, go treat yourself to a Denny's breakfast and REST, REST, REST.

BE SAFE and enjoy your day. Later....................

Good morning!

Lee, sending good thoughts that all goes well with your procedure this morning. You guy's have had enough medical surprises this year...it's time for some GOOD news!

Kathie, No Denny's breakfast for me this morning...will probably get a free lunch or dinner this afternoon....Tom bought a vanity/sink combo from Home Depot for his bath remodel & the sink doesn't match the vanity so he's having me take him & it back to Home Depot this afternoon...

Dave, nice that Kathi could get in to see the Dr. the same time as you did....not a lot of Doctors will go out of their way like that to help out a patient....not so nice on the cost of your prescription....staying alive these days isn't cheap...or easy!!

Pat, glad the Caddy fix wasn't terribly expensive....
The HOA board here pretty much looks the other way as far as little things go....according to the "rules" no one is supposed to have decorative flags or any kind of yard decor in their front yard....almost everyone in here has a flag, a bird bath or something pretty in their front yard...

While I was at Jane's yesterday her water went out....she's on a well, so we checked the points & checked the breaker....nothing...still no water...then later on she mentioned there is a power switch outside that turns the pump on & off....so I checked that....turned it on & off a couple times & voila...she had water...she had already called a well guy to come out & check it out so when he came she told him about the switch....when he went to check it out it fell apart in his hands...so now she had to get an electrician to install a new switch...this one was not done properly in my opinion....it was not in a covered box or anything...just stuck on the side of the house....she called a guy last night that I had used before & he wanted $120 just to come out...she got a hold of the company the well guy had suggested & he charges $89 to come out...he 's going to try & work her in today...I took her a couple gallons of water for her & Hansel....but she really needs to ad water to the pool....it's down below the skimmer right now so she can't even run the filter...and of course now that she NEEDS it, it's not been raining at her house....always something!

Done at the Dentist office. He was able to fill it and avoid a CROWN for now. It was the most painless quick procedure in a long time.
Stopped by the European Pastry shop and got us some croissants. This place makes the best ones ever. Miss living on this side of town for things like this.
Okay, I need to move out of this parking spot before the WICKED meter person gives me a ticket. Yup if there’s no money in the meter and you are sitting in the car you still get the ticket.
Back to the freeway and home.
Karen hope you get lunch out of helping Tom!
Hope your sister gets her water back on real soon!

Good morning! Another HOT day around here. It's already 88 and still climbing.

Lee - Good luck with your procedure this morning. Hopefully, by now it's all finished.

Kathie - Lucky you to not need a new crown at this point. Your pastry shop sounds wonderful. We are eagerly awaiting the opening of NY Bagel and Deli right outside our community. At their other locations they also make delicious NY style pizza, but they can't do that here. There's a new Italian restaurant opening a few doors away from NY Bagel and they had to sign a non-compete agreement. The Italian restaurant is rather pricy for their food, so I don't know how long they're going to last, unless Solivita supports them like they do a different Italian place a few miles further away.
Wow! Is that what a garage is supposed to look like? I've never seen one of them before! Our garage is so full, you can barely get in the garbage and recycling cans! Bert has over half the garage filled with his stuff!! What a mess. I'd hate to think about moving out of this house. It will take years just to empty the garage!!

Karen - I do hope your sister gets water back on asap. That's one of the things I hated about having a well. Back in the day, I got pretty good at fixing things that went wrong with it. Boy, that wouldn't happen today! I'd "let my fingers do the walking" and call someone to do the repair.
How nice of you to once again help out someone. I hope your neighbor buys you a nice lunch.

Dave - Good to hear that you didn't get too much rain from Fred. We never got any of that storm and looks like Grace is going to Mexico instead of the US. Poor Haiti is really getting the brunt of the rains on top of their earthquake the other day. Those poor people!

Our dinner last night of the ribs was so good. Only enough left for M&J and the kids to have for dinner while we are at trivia at the Grille. Still trying to decide what to make for tomorrow night though. I try to make enough that we will get at least 2 night's worth of dinners. Debating pork chops or lamb shanks. Hard to decide!!

Coffee time! I need something to get me started today as, once again, I only got 4 hours sleep! This is really getting old ... FAST!

Have a super day, everyone, even as half of the day is already almost over. Stay safe and be good!! :)

a very quick check in. with all of the heart meds and the stuff from this morning’s adventure I’m a little nauseous so I think I’ll lay low for a bit today.
you all have a great day and stay safe.

Morning Bob! Just what time is your shift on here?
Depends on how often i need to keep an eye on you....................

Actually it is pretty much 24/7/360 am on and off as time permits. During summer i spend my time working for friends that own an RV park in the mountains and internet is real iffy so spends more time off than on. Been with John since 1992 give or take a month, i have always tried to maintain a spam free stress free environment for our members. John runs the front end, i'm in charge of the ghetto ummm suburbs.
I know several of you had been here before during better times and are glad to have you back, some strangers but do recognize a few of you from days gone by. :thumb:

Lee: Good idea to lay down and rest. Always remember you're not punching a TIME CLOCK these days and it's OKAY to lay down.
I'm actually thinking of doing the same since Art is still out there somewhere biking.

WOW....that picture of our garage floor LOOKS HORRIBLE.
I just want to say one thing:
IT'S NOT GREASE OR OIL on that floor. It's just worn out cement and hot tires coming in and moving around to park the darn cars correctly. Now that I see it in pictures I really want something done before Winter. Only big problem besides THE EXPENSE is you have to take EVERYTHING OUTSIDE and put tarps on it so the paint or epoxy can dry. That's at least 2 days or more. Maybe just a coat of garage floor paint will do for now. :emoticon 0102 bigsmile:

I do have a time clock. Three actually. Bear, Katie and Ava.
Have you considered those garage floor tiles Kathie? My gosh your garage makes some people’s homes look REALLY messy.

Lee, hope you are feeling better....and yep...those are 3 pretty important time clocks for sure!

Kathie, I wish my garage was as empty as that...my neighbor painted his garage floor with one of those kits from Home Depot...I think it was the epoxy with the little colored chips you toss down on the wet paint...came out beautiful....they did the center of garage with the paint & then some coordinating peel & stick tile around the edges...it looked great....I'll have to ask them how it's held up...

Well this afternoon was an adventure...and not necessarily a good one...we got Tom's vanity & sink loaded up in my truck & I took him down to the Villages to return it....took forever for the lady to process the return...then we went back to get the new one he had picked out...it's a vanity sink combo with a separate side unit of 4 drawers...he wanted the 24" vanity & 1 set of the drawers...the vanity was down where we could reach it...but the drawer unit was way up on the top shelf...he found someone to get it down for us...but because they were using a lift we had to leave the aisle...after about 15 mins. we walked back over & they had the 2 boxes loaded on a cart & said they had opened them up to inspect them...ok...fine...we get it to the front...pay for it...get it loaded & head for home....about 30 mins. after I got home Tom called...they had given him the wrong vanity....they gave him a 36" vanity instead of 24....with the drawer unit it would not fit in his bathroom....so he & Grant loaded it back up in Grant's SUV and were taking it back again & hopefully get the right one this time....what a mess....I felt bad that we didn't catch that it was the wrong one...but he had told them what he wanted they just didn't listen.....No free lunch today..but he did have me stop at a fancy Gelato/Sorbet place & he bought me some Sorbet....
Jane finally got her water back on about 4:30...ended up costing her $129....but she said the guy did a really good job...and with parts & labor it was only $9 more than a couple of the guys wanted just to show up...I'm trying to encourage her to start a folder of repair people she uses & likes so she will know who to call next time...
Time to get comfy & relax....tomorrow I have a couple projects to do around here....

"There was copious amounts of rain causing flooding." Said the news announcer.

Although I know what "copious" means, I can't remember ever using that word in a sentence.

TGIF Bunnies!

K2; As a matter of fact Kathi did call the manufacturer of the expensive prescription drug to see if we could get a discount coupon. Their first question is whether we had insurance. Yes. And so we get no discount. Something tells me that garage floor is going to drive you nuts until you fix, repair, or paint it.

So nice that your HOA is flexible on the rules when it come to common sense things, KC. Good for Jane getting her water back on, and being fixed right. And transporting a vanity back and forth to a store is not my idea of giving yourself a day off.

BB, I've got a feeling you that you know the name and location of every restaurant within 10 miles. Hoping you slept a little bit better last night.

Excellent choice in laying down for a while when you're not feeling well, Lee. Or did you just want to be close to the can since you felt nauseous? And I'm with you on K2's garage.......it needs a little bit more mess.
1f601.png

Kathi sure got an earful from an old retired anti-vaccination guy yesterday who was trimming a bush. She has no idea what got him going but he's come up with a whole new reason not to get vaccinated. Get a load of this; Various governments around the world are trying to lower the population of earth. So they came up with these vaccinations to kill off 7 million people. And so Kathi has to remember that everyone who has gotten the shot will be dead soon. GEESH!

Speaking of Covid, and other diseases; It seems that a prescription I got from the doctor yesterday will make me immune-compromised for the next 5 days. So now I'll have to hunker down even deeper in the bunker for a while.

Good morning! You know you're tired and sleeping well for a change, when the doorbell rings waking you up. I woke up Bert and told him someone was at the door. He put his pants on and checked. It was our landscapers here to trim all the bushes. It was 9:00! Rare day for me to be asleep that late. I did wake up earlier when everyone was leaving and for once I fell back to sleep.

Dave said -
BB, I've got a feeling you that you know the name and location of every restaurant within 10 miles.

That isn't ever going to happen. They keep opening and closing restaurants here on a monthly basis and it's upsetting when one of the closures is a favor or ours. There aren't that many restaurants that we go to these days and that's a good thing. We know the Grille is safe as they sanitize all the time and as of this week, all employees are once again wearing masks. I was glad to see that. We haven't been to the Outback in about a year & a half. Used to go there at least once a month. Only other place for food for us these days is Chinese and right now that is strictly takeout.

Karen - Things sure didn't work out well for you guys yesterday on your vanity adventure. Sorry you didn't get your free lunch, but sorbet is a nice substitute. Especially in this heat. Our next door neighbor has a tiled floor in his garage. The whole garage is themed like a 50s soda fountain shop. He has gold records hanging on the walls and they have a bistro hi-top table and chairs. Really cool looking. They used to sit there in the evening with the garage door open to chat with neighbors. Such a NY/NJ thing!! Of course, that was before they put in the spool and got all their other "toys".

Kathie - Bert used to paint the garage floor when we lived in Ocala. No way he can do that here though. He's got TMS, if you know what I mean! So tell us - did you ever get to take that nap yesterday or did you find something else to keep yourself busy with until Art came home?

Lee - Hope you're feeling better today after resting up yesterday. I love that your alarm clocks have names. LOL

We had fun at trivia last night, but did really bad. We always get killed with the music questions. Either we don't know the name of the song or we don't know the artist who performed it, or worse still, we didn't know either. Gary came with Elaine's 2 sons. Those boys (13 & 16) are human garbage cans and can consume anything you put in front of them. They finished off their food and then at most of my chicken tenders and onion rings. I knew they would and that's why I ordered that!
Once trivia was over we stopped to talk to some friends for a little while. By the time we were headed out, we found that they had locked the gate to the pool area. Right now you have to go through the amenity center, around the pool to get to the gate when going to the Grille, if you're in a wheelchair. They are making repairs to the regular handicap entrance on the outside, so the have to accommodate anyone with a handicap. Luckily one of our friends' daughter was there and she walked around to the entrance to the amenity center and managed to get the gal working there to come open the locked gate. This should not have happened, so I am sending our community manager a message to find out how they intend to make this better for now. On weekends the Grille is open until 10, but the amenity center closes by 9, at the latest, so they will have to figure out how best to handle this. Time to shake things up in here!! :emoticon 0136 giggle:

Well, I see that once again, it's past the noon hour, so that means it's time for lunch. Have a great afternoon and evening, everyone. I really will try to drop back later ... I promise!

Good afternoon Bunnies.
Copious amounts of heat and humidity in The Burg today. And again for the next few days.

Ah, words and their uses. I had my knuckles rapped in Grade 9. I had to use the coffin and coughing in a sentence. I simply said "Send for The Smith Brothers. Someone in the coffin is coughin'". I still bear those emotional scars today. Ya, sure I do. I had it coming.
Well Karen, I don't think that you and The Guys can beat yourselves up because the HD employee didn't present the right product at check out. Look on the bright side - you got a nice sorbet. That's good idea to keep a folder of reliable trades people.

tomorrow I have a couple projects to do around here
I hope that one of the projects involves your feet up and a glass of wine!
Dave, I'm afraid that laying down was out of
necessity. Hopefully it was the cocktail of the two heart meds I'm taking - blood thinners have been on hold leading uptown the procedure - the antibiotics and hour before, the shot of antibiotics while I was on the table and the freezing in my, well, there's no delicate to put this. The freezing in my prostate. The Doc and I shared a couple of laughs during the procedure. Usually they take 12 samples. He wanted to take 15. When he asked if I was comfortable and ready to go I asked for a stick to bite down on. Tom didn't miss a beat and said "We don't use sticks in Windsor." After the initial 12 samples he paused and said they were reviewing the scan. As he started the last 3 I said "And now on to the bonus round". He said "I'll try to be quick. I prefer to think of it as the lightening round." Again, how lucky we are that, to this point in time, all of our meds are pretty well covered by OHIP and our coverage from Lu-Ann's ongoing benefit package. Going all the way back to April and my heart thingy up to the procedure yesterday we have paid not one dime. Thankful for that. Ah, conspiracy theories. Has the guy checked the numbers lately? I think that there have already been over 4.4 million deaths so "they" are well on their way to their target. What gets in to people's heads? Lay low my friend. Especially with the compromised immunity. Maybe lay low for an extra day just to be sure.
He put his pants on and checked.
I'm trying to picture the look on the landscapers face if Bert HADN'T stopped to put on pants!! I'm impressed that The Grille has gone back to masking. Do they ask customers to mask while moving through the restaurant? That the rule here. Until you are seated at your table. Then the masks can come off. Good on you for checking on plans to keep gate access open while The Grille is open. A few folks here redo their garages into "bonus rooms". With back yards, patios and front porches that's a concept that's lost on me. Unless they park in their family rooms...
Alright. Enough silliness from me for today.
you all stay safe, sound and wash those hands. Simple but effective.

The mail has arrived and there was a package for me from our friends Beth and Pete in Chardon, OH. Beth is a very talented jewelry and clothing designer. Pete is a talented self taught wood worker. We know them through the Greyhound Community. Anyway, Pete had a heart attack after my adventure and we have been supporting each other with laughter and encouragement. I suggested that Beth design a T-Shirt for the "Cardiac Club".
Here is the surprise that arrived for me today... My name is even on the tag on the pups' collar. Ya, I'm feelin' pretty good sportin' my new shirt!

Lee: Hope today is a better day for you buddy.
LOVE THE T-Shirt. You model it so well. Explain the word "GREYT". Other than just a eye catcher word does it mean more than I can figure out?? Just wondering.
I bet you'll make EVERYONE at the Cardiac place so jealous when they see your new T-Shirt.

Hope all the biopsy snips come back negative. You should have asked the doctor if he STRUCK GOLD yet when he was about halfway done! :emoticon 0102 bigsmile: Have they given any thought to just removing your Prostate and avoiding these procedures??

Pat: Never did get that REST/NAP yesterday. My system just can't lay down in the middle of the day and fall asleep. I would love a nice nap every so often.
I did get to sit outside on the deck early this morning and watch and listen to the birds. Having my coffee was so much nicer out there.

DAVE: You're right about that ugly floor bugging me. I think the quickest cheapest way to go is to paint the damn area again. The HOT TIRES take the toll on ANYTHING you put down over cement. And our hard Winters with the use of SALT on the streets get's dragged into the garage and doesn't help matters. Time will tell.
Kathi's encounter with the shrub trimmer was something else. Was he trimming YOUR shrubs or just hanging over the fence? :emoticon 0122 itwasntme:

Bummer on NO DISCOUNT for your expensive MEDS. Did you ask the doctor if he had samples? Worth a try. I know when I was on that one heart medicine Xarelto I was able to get plenty of samples. The heart doctor I go to know doesn't have samples. (Well excuse me and Bless her soul) Ha Ha. At least it's only $45 bucks for a 3-month supply. Still a total rip-off.

I got a new recipe for Snickerdoodle cookies. From the picture they didn't look flat. I like a softer puffier snickerdoodle cookie. I'll let you know how they turn out IF AND WHEN I MAKE THEM/

Okay, Art's bathroom shower is calling me. I sprayed it down with bleach to sanitize it. Hopefully, it will get the SOAP SCUM around the 3" bottom edge to disappear. That's what happens when the MAN doesn't use the squeegee tool that is in his shower! I bet I'll have to get in the shower and use the brush to really do a good job on that soap scum shadow.

Karen: I hope your projects weren't too hard today. And I hope you got to get in a POOL somewhere today. I envy you for living in your condo complex and having a pool to jump into.
You sure PICKED a WINNER when you found that place. Have you driven by the old house lately?

Later gang.......Be safe. Wear your masks walking into restaurants and keep them on until you order and start eating. Walk out with them on too. That's what we do. I don't care who laughs or thinks we're nuts, but DELTA is more dangerous than COVID these days.

Hotter than stink out there right now. The humidex reading is sitting at 99F. Of course that could be from the border towns like Windsor fuming over the news that Canadians are not welcome to cross into The US by land until at least September 21.
There goes our trip to Gettysburg! And my offer to come over and help you and Art paint the garage floor! I’d gladly work for some of your cooking and baking you know.
“GREYT” is a play on the “Grey“ part of Greyhounds Kathie. The dog is a caracature of one of Pete and Beth’s Greyhounds.
I reckon the results of this biopsy will determine the next steps. It is what it is. As Hagrid said in Harry Potter “What’s coming will come and we’ll meet it when it does”. I like that attitude.
Stay safe, cool and if it’s rainy by you, dry.

Lee it's going to get HOTTER as the weekend approaches and next week too. I'll take it as long as my A/C doesn't fail me. :emoticon 0102 bigsmile:
And, PLEASE try and swim over the Detroit River and I'll pick you so you can help with the garage floor job. Art said we can "PAINT" it. He said it would need a little rough sanding in the spots that are still shiny. Also, said it's a job for when the temps get to a steady 68F. Smart man.

As far as your prostate goes........one day at a time. Not much else you can do. I just wonder how long it'll take to get the "results" back to you! Did they ever really tell you much about your AFib issue? Sometimes I swear you can do better just doing a google! (just joking on that)

We grilled outside today. ATE INSIDE.

Karen: Hope you aren't too sore from all your projects you had lined up today. I think SAT sure be a DAY OFF for you girl.

Out of here for now.

Good evening another stifling hot day here in Belleview!

Lee, that is a fine looking picture of you in your new shirt...you look like you have really lost some weight though...and you were never super heavy to begin with...that's a shame about having to miss Gettysburg again...

Pat, Sorry you didn't do better at Trivia last night...but as long as you had fun then it's all is good...I guess the Amenity people think that no handicapped person needs to be in the Grille after 9 pm...

Dave, it's amazing some of the nonsense that anti-vaxer's and even non covid belivers can come up with....we were talking about the vaccine at the pool the other day & one lady said she cancelled her MRI because she heard they had put magnets in the vaccine...I looked at her & said as tiny as that needle was going in they sure didn't put very many in there or very big ones...she just shrugged & said well...that's what I heard...

Kathie, you do know that once the temps start cooling off Art will be biking even more & then the next thing you know he can't paint the garage because it's "to cold"...
Sadly no pool time for me today....worked outside this morning & then spent a couple hours on the phone with my niece...today was Amanda & Leon's 10th Wedding Anniversary...hard to believe!

My project today was moving "copious" amounts of rock and spreading them in the alley way between my house & the neighbors.. when I re-did Jane's front patio the other day there were a lot of small rocks that we had put down & then laid 12x12 patio blocks on top of...before I put the new ones in I raked out most of those rocks & filled about 6 small buckets & brought them home to put in the ally...then after those were down I went back over to Jane's with more buckets & brought the rest of them home & put them down...I've got the alley about 1/4 of the way done...and according to Home depot project estimator I need 34 bags of river rock to finish the job....THATS gonna take a while!
Jane was still having problems with her pump this morning...she said she had hardly any water pressure & the toilet in the master bath didn't want to fill after she flushed it...turns out she needed a new tank for the pump....so $600+ later she has a big new tank & new points for the well...always something!
Have a great evening all!

Feeling low today.

Yesterday we had to send Buddy to "Rainbow Bridge".

He's had minor epileptic seizures before. We were warned about them when we got him. They were rare and usually only last 5-10 minutes before he snapped out of it. But yesterday morning it was completely different.

As he was snapping out of one seizure another one kicked in, over and over and over again. After about 45 minutes it was off to the Vet's. Even after 2 separate shots to stop all the errant electrical activity in his head he just continued with more seizures.

Our Vet consulted with a specialist who warned that with each new seizure more brain cells were getting damaged. But we could bring him into his pet hospital and have him checked out. But he couldn't guarantee a good outcome. And that would have been $3,000 just to walk in the door and another $6,000 for all the tests Buddy would need. With very little hope from anyone we had to make that painful decision.

And 4 year old Buddy was sent on his way, where there is no pain.
