Good morning, everyone.

Bob - Nice to "see" you here. It's been a while since you dropped by. I guess we've been behaving ourselves, right? The water was there for anyone who wanted a drink. That scotch really warmed up your inner self, so some used it to cool down before the next tasting.

Dave - Looks like auto correct has struck again. I really did type yard and not year. They aren't even close. Thanks for explaining the location of the shed for me. Could you give us a site map of the whole property too? Here if you want to put up security cameras on your house, that's exactly what you have to do showing the exact locations where the cameras will go. Then it has to be submitted to the architectural review committee for approval. Most people just ignore that and put the cameras up without approval.

Kathie - I have to agree that having a management group running the show for the HOA can be expensive, but in a case like ours, the community is too big for a few board members to do everything and keep an eye on things. Our management company is very diverse and manages a number of other companies also. They keep the Grille running with their employees and they run the fun stuff, like the whiskey tasting. While expensive, here it's worth it. Will the violets survive over the winter? You don't see them around here. It's probably too hot.

Karen - So whose house will you be doing off jobs at today? When do you get a day to hang out with your poolies? That should be a top priority for you these days while it is so hot.

Lee - I hope you were able to take a nice walk this morning with your babies. What's on tap for you and Lu-Ann today? Anything fun??

I sent an email to Rita yesterday, but haven't heard back from her yet. They've been gone for too long and it's time to see what's happening in their world.

A number of school systems are ignoring the chief honcho's "let the parents decide" idea. Our numbers are going through the roof right now. Some school systems are suing Deathsantis and the courts are standing with the school systems. Heck, the courts upheld the cruise ships needing proof of vaccination in defiance to the idiot's rules. He's just following lil t's game plan and playing to his political base. In the meantime the number of children being hospitalized is increasing daily. It's a sad time here in Florida. :(

Time to get to work around here. Missy is going to help, so that's a good thing. Better get her going before she gets lost using her cell phone all day. Have an excellent day everyone. I'll try to stop back later, but I can't guarantee in this crazy house. :)

Had to take a break from standing and doing the peaches. Sure glad I only bought a 1/2 bushel is all I can say! LOL

Pat: You live in a HUGE development with many amenities and it needs to be handled by a management company. Even when the entire complex is completed I doubt very much that it would be wise to entrust it in the hands of the homeowners. Just too many things could go wrong.
Karen's condo complex isn't nearly as big and CAN be handled by homeowners who
volunteer their time and that saves them a huge amount in their HOA rates. The lady that had the issue with her plant being trimmed wrong (in her eyes) should have just had it done on her own. There's one in every neighborhood that just has to send the nasty letter and most likely never comes to the meetings or helps with constructive ideas for the betterment of the entire complex.
I still remember all the grief Tony use to have to go through when he was President of his HOA. It's a THANKLESS JOB FOR SURE.

Back to my peaches! :)

Good afternoon.
Bob, it’s not water in those bottles. It’s gin. Just sayin’.
Karen, maybe the complainer in your complex needs to be subjected to the same laws and rules that they had in Venice, Italy back in the day. Anybody could accuse anybody of anything BUT if the accused was proven innocent the accuser was subjected to the punishment. Who says cruising isn’t educational. Do you have a 30, 60 or 90 night sleep trial with that mattress?
Pat, I find autocorrect is running wild of late too. Even a practically perfect typist :emoticon 0140 rofl: like myself seems to be a victim of the little person who controls the keyboard from inside the processors. We did get a good walk in this morning followed by my trip to (cardiac) rehab. My pace on the treadmill today was at 55 minutes for 5K. Not great but considering registration for The Princess Run is Tuesday I’m a happy heart guy! Good for the court system in FL! With so much in your beautiful state depending on tourism you’d think they would want to make folks, residents and tourists alike, feel safe. What’s the word on The Caddy? One less expensive fix would be to turn up the radio so you can’t hear the noise.
I‘m really glad to hear that more folks seem to be wearing masks at the grocery Dave. For now, common sense is still in place to a certain extent and masks and social distancing are required in all indoor places. From the size of your yard I can see why you had a rider and now lawn guys!
Well Kathie, I was going to make a smart a$$ed comment about your lovely peaches. And if I did it would be because I thought Tony would have jumped on the chance. But I won’t. ;) I did get a little better sleep last night. Thanks for asking! When it comes to snow cleared from our road we have to get used to not living on a school bus route like we did in Ayr. At the first hint of snow we used to get plowed, sanded and things were good. Hmmm. I wonder if plow guy misses me? Anyway, not so much here. Last winter it took a day or so to see the plow.
Waiting for a Fed Ex delivery that requires a signature. Usually it wouldn’t matter but our friends from The USA crossed the border to see their daughter and grandkids in Cleveland. They haven’t seen (hugged) them since January 2020. Anyway, Jim ordered the same “free” coffee maker as we did and asked them to send it to our address. Usually the coffee place doesn’t require a signature but this time around they do.
OK, enough from me. Two medical “consults” tomorrow. One call from my family doc at 9:00 and a visit with the (cardiac) rehab nurse practitioner to review my Holter monitor results and address my concerns with my ever fluctuating heart rate. Maybe the rehab cardiologist will be there tomorrow as well.
You’re so right Kathie. It’s always something.
You fine folks take care of yourselves.

Good afternoon all!!

Dave, I gotta say that is one FINE looking shed! The nephew did a great job building it & you & Kathi did an awesome job painting it...now for the custom shelves for inside right?

Pat, I agree your community is waaaay to big to be handled by a
A resident run HOA board....and you do have a lot more amenities there than we do...we basically have the pool & club house and that's it...
Hopefully the fix for the Caddy won't be as bad as you think...or else you & Bert will finally be car shopping...not sure which is worse..

Lee, hope you finally get some answers on your racing heartbeat...other than LuAnn looks ravishing as always...:)
And do tell...how does one go about getting a "free" coffee maker?

Kathie, always nice to find a secret surprise stash of goodies....I feel your pain...I don't think I could handle even doing a 1/2 bushel of peaches....how is the knee doing these days btw?

The board meeting yesterday went fine....the person who wrote the letter was not present...just 4 of us from the board...we basically just had to respond to her complaint...and did so by drafting a letter telling her that the lawn crew had been notified NOT to trim any of her plants...and that from now on SHE was responsible for keeping them neatly trimmed...
The mattress is still so-so...I know it's just a matter of getting used to it...Lee you had asked what the sleep trial period was...120 days...but they charge you so much in restocking & pick up fees it really isn't worth while to try & send it back
Today was my "day off" from sister projects, so I actually got to go to the pool for a couple hours & hang out with some of my buddies..
Tomorrow I have 30 of the 12x12 patio blocks to put down at Jane's I'm redoing an area in front of her porch...
And once again the afternoon thunderstorms are rolling in...so I need to shut this thing down for a while....later gang!

Hiya Karen. We’re supposed to get thunderstorms here this afternoon/ evening. We’ll see. The coffee place we deal with, ECS Coffee, had a flash sale on Saturday. If you bought $100 in coffee you could get a “free” brewer. The one we have is getting older. Knowing appliances don’t last forever and ours is well over 2 and brews at least 4 beverages per day we took advantage of the offer. As did our friends Jim and Gail and Jan and Dave. Always the fine print with those 120 day satisfaction guarantee. You take it easy slugging those stones tomorrow.
The letter writer should have to show up in order to have her complaint acknowledged and addressed.
OK. Bye now.

l‘m done with the peaches! Whew! The peaches are in the thick plastic Food Save bags standing up in a large bowl and a pan in the freezer. Once they get frozen solid I will proceed to use that lovely machine to vacuum seal them for future use! It was a nice project, but not a fun as it use to be be when I was younger! Ha ha.
Karen glad you have a day off considering tomorrow you will be busting your butt lifting a lacing those HEAVY TILES at your sisters place. Please don't try and place all of them in one day. Just not worth it for your back and arms and legs. Good luck. I just pray your sisters never move and you have to help them reconstruct their home from again.

I started this post on my iPad and it ran out of juice. I then came into the computer room area and low and behold when I opened up our site it was sitting waiting for me to finish. Lucky me.

You asked how the knee was doing. It has it good and bad days just like everything else we all have to deal with! Earlier, before I started the Peaches, I took my bike out of the garage and actually rode it around the block. The tires need air and it made for a little harder ride, but I think I did good. Nothing hurt while I was pedaling. I had the gear in #2 so it was easy to pedal. Felt good to be able to actually get out further than the mailbox or car door for a change. After I finished doing the peaches I iced my knee and it "LIKED THAT"! LOL

Lee: Nice catch on the Coffee Machine. What kind was it? Most likely a K-Cup kind! I love our Hamilton Beach Flex-Brew coffee maker. It makes K-cups and your own filled K-cups too and big and small amounts. Just push a button for your choice. Also with the regular brewing we can choose Dark Brew or Regular Brew. It does it all. We usually just use the dark brew and brew about once in the morning.
1629234700538.png

Lee: All the best with your doctors visits by phone and the review FINALLY of your Holter review. I can't imagine what she would say AFTER IT BEING DONE SO LONG AGO. Should be interesting.
I read your post about your USA friends crossing the border to visit their daughter in Cleveland that they haven't seen in a long time. So is the BORDER OPEN for you Canadians to cross "the border" into the USA? What am I missing in that post? DUH??
Nice of you to help our your friends and take delivery of their coffee pot. Hope it shows up sometime today or tonight.
Is your 5K Run in A'Burg or Florida by Disney?
200.gif
I'm thinking Florida since it's in February'ish!

I'm out of here for now.
Need to put away all the pots and pans and dishes that I washed by hand and left to dry on the counter. Hate doing that, but most were large and would have never all fit in the dishwasher. Sometimes it's just easier to wash by hand.

KAREN. Please be careful with those tiles tomorrow.

Our friends kept their US citizenship Kathie. They could have gone across anytime but Gail has really been having trouble dealing with the whole Covid thing. Fully vaccinated Canadians are not welcome to cross by land. But we can fly in to The USA like I did in October to pick up our little Ava. Nope, makes no sense to me either.
Our coffee brewer is the Mars Flavia brewer. It takes fresh packs as they call them. The Princess Run is in WDW in February. Our concern is whether or not the border will be open by mid January! It’s easy enough to social distance at the event. We’ll just go dead last in the final group.
That was a long day on your feet. I’m sure it was well worth the effort to prepare all of those peaches.
Good night my friends.

Happy Hump-Day!

I don't have auto-correct. But with all the trouble it's giving many of you Bunnies, can't you just turn it off?

Nice that you had one of those GOOD surprises, K2. Finding some jars of jam and some small jars of Cowboy Candy. It's good to hear that your knee is loose enough and strong enough for a careful bike ride.

Your HOA tells people where they can put up security cameras, BB? I'd be one of the people telling them where to stick that order. So what's the problem and cost of the Caddy's air conditioner?

That's good to know, Lee, that you are able to do the distance of a 5K run. I'm sure that between now and the Disney run your time will come down, as your confidence goes up.

"Custom" shelves in our new shed KC? Our nephew did make 2 wooden ones along one of the sides. Plus we have a whole stack of metal ones that were removed from the old shed. Not sure if I'm going to put up any of them. Now that the complainer is now responsible for trimming up her plants, I wonder if she going to send another complaint letter about that. Be careful with those patio blocks today, your back will thank you later.

Another soggy day for us. The rain from Fred should hit town sometime around noon.

Both Kathi and I have a doctor's visits today. With the same doctor, but at different times. (We set the appointments up on different days.) My appointment is at 9:30 and hers is at 1:15.

Still waiting to hear from you Rita & Bill.

Happy You Can Do It GIF by Hello All

Good Morning Wrabbits!
Didn’t check the for today, but it’s Sunny right now and 74F.

We dug up the last of our potatoes last evening! We want to plant potatoes again next year! The Cukes keep coming in the weirdest shapes. Still tastes good, but look funny.

Art made a dentist appt for today for 8:30 am. That’s all fine and dandy, but he had to leave at 7:30 am to get across town and will e in some not so nice rush hour traffic.
I get to go to the same DENTIST tomorrow, Thurs, I just didn’t want to drive in rush hour traffic and made my appt at 10:30. I know I’ll most likely be getting a CROWN on a tooth that decided after all these years to crack off on one side. The NERVE of that tooth doing that to me.

Horrible pictures coming out of Afghanistan. The Taliban sure were busy all these months, years waiting for this moment. I pray for the children, young girls and women when all the American soldiers and press are finally out of there. Not going to be pretty. SAD it had to happen this way after being in that country for 20yrs. The USA didn’t learn a thing from our time in Vietnam.

Dave/ Kathi hope your Drs appointments went well.

Lee: Make sure to dig out that TuTu for the 5K and make sure it is a perfect fit! Ha Ha. I still remember you having it on for one of your running/walking events in the past. Some things you just can’t wipe out of your head once seen! :emoticon 0136 giggle:

Karen: Hope yo7 don’t overdue it today with your tile project.

Pat: We need a update on the Caddy. My money is on it getting FIXED yet one more time. Ha ha

Bill/ Rita: Not sure why you aren’t posting here anymore, but know we have “LEFT THE LIGHT ON FOR YOU EVERY NIGHT!” Come back and say HELLO! Hope you are both doing well healthwide.

Later gang. I am going to try and run the rug shampoo machine on a strip of carpet we have on the cement ledge in the garage that keeps the car from coming close to the house. Not sure what that is called. I sprayed some big spray to see what it smelled like and the stuff was SO FULL OF OILS it got over everthing in the area. The bottom of my shoes, and feet if you walked out of the house onto the carpet. I tried to scrub it out by hand, but it didn’t do any good. I had to wash the throw rug in the doorway and the laundry room because it had some of the CRAP on it. Scrubbed and washed my tennis shoes and even ended up throwing them in the washer with the rugs) also scrubbed the bottoms of my favorite sandals. Needless to say the spray can of this bug repellent got thrown in the trash. Jill gave it to us, so I didn‘t feel too bad pitching it. She got it free too!

Have a safe good day all.

Good morning, gang! It's going to be a hot one here today. It already feels like 100 and the weatherman said last night that it's going to feel like 100+ over the next few days. Great! That's too hot for even me to be sitting outside to read.

Karen - You be careful lifting those stones. Take lots of breaks and drink lots of fluids. Definitely not the best weather to be doing that job in.

Dave - TECHNICALLY, we are suppose to put in an application for anything you do outside your house, be it something on the house or in the yard, like moving a flower pot from one side of the driveway to the other. Trust me, most people ignore this rule unless it's something major, like putting in a pool or getting a screen enclosure. Bert plants stuff and moves plants all the time without ever saying a word to the committee. Technically, his tiny veggie garden on the side of the house is a violation. Do you think he cares? He!! no!
The problem with the Caddy was just what Bert thought. It was some kind of switch that malfunctioned. Luckily they are able to get at it through the glove box and didn't have to drop the dash. It ended up costing $500, but I guess it really needed to get done if we ever want to sell this car. We're looking into getting a replacement in a couple of months, so I sure didn't want to have to listen to this constant clicking noise until then.

Kathie - Good for you getting all those peaches done. I was thinking about doing something with some of the peaches I have frozen, but I'm just not in the mood today to do that. We have the gang coming for dinner tonight for ribs (3 full racks to be exact!) and that will take a bit of work this afternoon. We are also able to buy small sweet potatoes at Publix that are already cleaned and are in a bag that you can microwave the whole bag in and it only takes a few minutes for them to cook perfectly. I have 2 bags of them for tonight, plus our second wave of fresh Florida corn which is so delicious that you can eat it raw. It is that tender and sweet.

Lee - Sounds like a great deal you and your friends got on the coffee and brewer. Remember a few years ago we had the Canadian iCoffee brewer and found out it was discontinued. Bert finally located one at a BB&B on the other side of Orlando, so we bought it, even though it was the display model and they no longer had the box. Bert also decided to check out and troubleshoot the one we were having problems with. Being the detail mechanical guy that he is, he managed to get the coffee maker back working again, so he put the new one away in a box for when we needed it. Bottom line with this story is that the new machine is still sitting in the box in the garage! The original one is still plugging along after all these years and the amount of use it gets. :D

Our school board has finally grown a pair and decided that come Monday all elementary & middle school students will be required to wear a mask in school, unless the parents sends a note wanting their child excused from wearing a mask. This will last for 30 school days and then they will see from there. Marion County, where Karen lives is doing the same thing. Deathsantis be d*mned!!

Just about time for me to wrap up this post. I need to stop at Joanne's to pick up a few half yard pieces of material with Florida Gator designs in them to send up to our granddaughter in NC. She makes these adorable trolls, which are very big in their area. I asked her to make me a couple with Gator materials, but she could only find 1 color and she needs at least 2 colors to make them. I already told her I will pay her for them. Once they get done, I will post a picture of them on here.

So on that note, time to head out of here once again. Have a great day, everyone, and wear those masks!! :)

Good evening.
Lots of medical folks making money from this group today. I do hope that everyone’s appointments went well as well as mine. If only the heart institute cardiologist had taken ten minutes to address my concerns with tests and the monitor results he could have saved our doctor and the (cardiac) rehab nurse-practitioner their time. So, onward we go with tomorrow’s biopsy to see why my psa tests are giving such high readings.
I’m wondering if auto correct is built into the Cruiseaddicts interface Dave. Nothing we can’t all work around. If you don‘t reuse your shelves how much shed stuff will get chucked in the garbage? Hopefully your weather will improve soon!
That sounds like some nasty bug spray you had to deal with Kathie! A sure sign summer is winding down…your potatoes have been dug up for the season.
That forecast is just plain stink hot Pat. I guess in the big scheme if things $500 bucks isn’t too bad for any auto repair these days. How much was the labour vs the part? That’s the frustrating part of auto repairs. I remember that iCoffee machine you have! I thought the rotating spray head was a great idea.
Nice to have you update us and promise pictures of your recent project Karen. I bet a nice warm bath or shower with a glass of wine would be beneficial! Not so much wine in the shower. Unless your wine is in a sippy cup.
OK folks, I’m out of here. I’ll likely be a little “behind” posting tomorrow “butt” I will try to drop in and check on you all.
Stay safe folks.

Karen: Good for you getting that HEAVY JOB done. Nice that you could cool off in the pool! You deserve tomorrow off.

Lee: Would be nice if modern medicine could
co-ordinate and save you and the doctors some time.
Good luck on your PSA test.

I worked my butt off today in that garage. Ha ha, I wish if you worked really hard the BUTT would melt away.
I got the carpet runner looking so clean and threw out some shoes in the shoe holder that I would never use again. Scrubbed the cement ledge and totally washed the floor with soap and the big push broom. Left everything open and the WIND dried it out nicely. Got rid of a lot of DUST and cobwebs. Nice feeling.
I’m thinking I will sleep good tonight.

Tomorrow is DENTIST day for me. They called and asked if I could come in at 10:00 am. Sure, much better than 10:30!
Mr Dentist must want to get away on his boat!

Pat: Another $500 buck into the Caddy money pit! Ha ha.
Soon Mr Bert will give in and find another auto for you guys!

Tonight I actually had enough energy to make of a nice Spaghetti dinner w/a nice mixed salad. I’m so sick of cooking all the time, but going out to eat is not something I want to do when I’m so tired and the Covid numbers are going up!

Talked to my brother George and he sounded good. My silly SIL called right as we were sitting down to eat. I ignored it. She even tried my cell phone. Geez. NOPE not answering it. I’m not a big telephone person.

Out of here for now.

Morning Bob! Just what time is your shift on here?

Bye-Bye "Fred"! The rain from that tropical storm passed through here mid-day yesterday and is now heading east. We got by easy with just a light rain while places just 10 miles away got an inch or 2 in a short period causing some flooding.

Today's your day to make a payment on your dentist's boat, K2. The reality is we lost the Vietnam war and the war in Afghanistan. And when that's happened there is no way to get all your people and the locals that have helped you over the years out of country before the "S" hits the fan. After losing the war, I don't think anybody has ever figured out a way to get out of Afghanistan without it being a mess, just like it happened in Vietnam. One group or another is going to get screwed. It's interesting when we mention Vietnam's messed up withdrawal; More than half of the people in the U.S, or Afghanistan weren't even alive when that happened. And have no recollection of it to use as a comparison.

I've got to admit BB that you are the only person I know who has a brand new coffee maker stashed away for when the current one craps out. All things considered you did good on only spending $500 on getting that air conditioner fixed. Hopefully that'll get you into next year when car prices may settle down.

Remember, today is your day off KC. You deserve it. Hope you aren't too sore today.

Lee; As far as throwing things out that used to be on our old shed's shelves.......We took care of that when we emptied it out. Truth be told, most of the stuff on the shelves was just junk we should never have kept. Oh lucky you with your PSA biopsy test today. That's got to be a bundle of laughs. NOT.

We lucked out at the doctor's office yesterday. Although our appointments were hours apart, the doctor did squeeze Kathi in to my earlier appointment, since she was there. I needed to do some testing in the office, and while I was out of the room she took care of Kathi.

Prescription prices are just nuts. I had one $600 medication for a month replaced by another $600 prescription. Thank God, because of my insurance, I only have to pay $150.

Hoping to get on the treadmill in a bit.

Hi Bob. The "Ugly Stuff" is either raw cement or old worn out FLOOR PAINT that's been there forever. I'd like to get some estimates of sanding it down and re-painting it. Epoxy is like $3000. bucks around here or more if they do a good job. Time will tell. :)
