Dave - So sorry to hear the news about Buddy. As Karen said, you might not have had him very long, but you probably gave him the best and happiest days of his life. Give each other a HUG from me today.

DAVE & KATHI, never easy to let go and say goodbye, but you know it was the right decision. Know that you both gave Buddy a good home while he was with you.
Take care.

The weather people were SPOT ON with their prediction of HIGH TEMPS. It's 87F and who knows what the real feel is. Partly cloudy will be a blessing for ART and all the thousands of others at the Woodward Dream Cruise today. (Good thing it's outside and miles and miles long. People line up on he side of the wide street and watch the cars CRUISE BY) It's a fun event, but you really have to love cars to go and sit in the heat for hours.

I'm off to the local farmer down 24 Mile Rd for some FRESH CORN. It's so good!

LEE: Sure hope you are feeling better today. Just try and take it easy. Oh and drink lots of water too! It's natures FREE best medicine.

Dave and Kathi, I am so very sorry to hear about Buddy. Having been pet owners before you know that you did what was best for him. Our thoughts are with you all.

It's hot, hot, HOT here today. 94 after 4:30 with t-storms rolling in. It's so hot, we have to get a storm to cool things down. It was even too hot for me to sit outside on the lanai to read this afternoon.

Quiet afternoon around here, even though it's a weekend. Taking the easy way out for dinner tonight - Publix fried chicken and some delicious fresh Florida corn on the cob. Good meal for Missy's last day of work for this week. Sometime over the next few days I want to convince Missy to make a family favorite that I haven't made in quite a while - Zwiebelkuchen. a German onion cake. Bert's mother used to make it all the time. I too have made it for Bert's cousins, one of whom was from Germany, a number of years ago. It's not hard to make, but you do have to allow the crust to rise before you start filling it. I'm sure Missy will love making it for the family once again.

Not much else to talk about today and seeing as how the storm is getting closer, I'm going to get off the computer for the rest of the day. See you all tomorrow, hopefully before we go to the Grille for brunch. Have a great evening, everyone!:)

That’s easy for you to say Pat. ;) Batten down the hatches as the storm approaches. I do hope Bill and Rita are getting ready for a little rough weather from the storm too.
Phlash Phelps was talking about the Woodward Dream Cruise yesterday on Sirius 60‘s channel Kathie. Doesn’t Art get a Mustang model car every year at this event?
I‘m making a loaf of cheese and onion bread. It’s almost ready. I sure hope that it turns out.
Bye for now!

That Concert in New York City was good while it lasted. THUNDER STORM put a end to that fast when the lightning started. Hard to believe how many concert goers just stood through the downpour.

Lee: Art gets a Free Ford Mustang T-Shirt each year. He got to the Ford area so early they hadn’t even set up the area where they hand out the T-Shirts! He was #4 in line. This years Shirt was really a nice design.
Glad they were talking about the Dream Cruise in your area.

I finally found a nice new place 2 miles from our house up 24 Mile Rd to get a pedicure. I’m so happy I went inside and asked a out a appt. I had to come back at 5:00 pm. The gal I got was really fantastic. “Reilly”. I was so in need of some help. I usually do my own nails, but I can’t totally bend my right leg and couldn’t wait any longer. I love that it’s new, clean and so close to home.

Pat we always like Publix Fried Chicken. It went well with the Key Lime Pie…Ha ha.

I sent a E-Mail to Eddie & Marge asking how they were fairing with Hurricane HENRI. Haven’t gotten a e-mail reply yet. Hope they will be okay.

Hope Bill & Rita will be okay. This is the time they will find out if their new home has any ROOF LEAKS!

Night from Macomb.

Good Sunday morning Wabbits!

First up; I'd like to thank all you wonderful Bunnies for your condolences on Buddy's passing. Thank you. Yes KC, Buddy hadn't been with us very long, but long enough to be a full part of the family and Kathi's true and loyal "Buddy".

Be careful Rita & Bill, it looks like some nasty weather is headed your way.

Quite the concert in New York City last night. Hope ya'll got to see just a little bit of it.......BEFORE the thunderstorm started. I felt sorry for the announcer, Anderson Cooper, who got stuck with filling air time looking for things to talk about and people to talk to while they waited for the storm to pass.

My goodness Lee, you are looking svelte and athletic now. A few speed-bumps are ahead in your full recovery but you sure are looking looking good. (I kind of liked it better when you were starting on your way to be a fat-body. It gave me permission to finish a bag of chips.

87 degrees and humid in your neck of the woods, K2. Like Art, I enjoy looking at Mustangs and other old cars too. But with that heat, I too would have been in the car going for corn. I too thought about Eddie and Marge wondering how this storm is going to affect them.

"Zwiebelkuchen". Sounds more to me me like a venereal disease, BB.

Whenever you make it, I hope it comes out good.

Plans for today? Maybe do some weeding. While we were painting the shed, weeding got way behind. Come to think of it, I still need to bring some of my hand tools back in from the shed.

Good Morning to all you wonderful Wrabbits.
Sure hope all the EAST COAST Wrabbits make it through the storm.
We won't likely know because they've abandoned the "Hutch". :emoticon 0108 speechless:

Dave: I enjoyed what I did see of the NYC Concert, but Anderson was getting to be a little boring and I shut him down. There sure were some really either LOYAL FANS or STUPID ones that hung out in all that wind and rain. Crazy.
Good luck with that weeding. It's just HORRIBLE up here in Michigan with the humidity feeling like a BLAST FURNACE when I opened the back slider doorwall. WOW.

We're off to the Pancake Factory to have breakfast. The place we go to only has individual booths that have extremely HIGH BACKS. Makes it a challenge for the VIRUS's to jump over and reach you. Ha Ha. (I wish)

ENJOY YOUR DAY FOLKS. I didn't sleep worth a hoot last night and will be low key today.

STAY SAFE........ya da, ya da, ya da........you all know the drill by now.

Good morning, everyone! Another hot day on tap for us, with only a slight chance of t-storms. Good day to stay inside after we get home from the brunch. Aside from the brunch, there's nothing else planned around here today, except maybe a quick trip to the library to return a book I just finished reading.

I so hope Eddie & Marge and Bill & Rita don't get hit too hard. One thing in their favor that's good - At least the storm is hitting during the day, so you can see what's going on around you. Seems like our strong storms like Henri always happen at night when you can't see anything and can only hear the wind & rain. That to me is more frightening!

K2 - Just saw the pictures you posted. Place looks nice. I hope you are enjoying your breakfast. Got anything else planned for today?

Never got to see any of that concert last night. I tortured myself by watching the Tampa Bay football game. At this rate, there's not going to be another super bowl for them this year. They were terrible last night. I actually fell asleep toward the end of the game. I guess a boring game plus lack of sleep does catch up with you sooner or later!

Dave - Go light on that weeding today in this heat. The weeds will still be there tomorrow, plus by then they might have more "friends"! LOL

Just about time to get ready to head out of here. Have a super Sunday, gang. And do take care if you're out and about. :)

Good morning....although it feels like the middle of the afternoon for me...I didn't sleep well last night either & then got up early to head to Walmart to pick up 10 more bags of rock....I'm having to use the smaller pea gravel rocks instead of the medium river rock I wanted to use cause they didn't have any of it....so far I've put down 20 bags...plus the rock I got from Jane...I have about a 3x5 section left to finish....I'll pick up 6 more bags tomorrow after I mow Jane's grass...
Now I'm taking the rest of the day off...Jane & Barb are coming over here to swim after Barb get's off....later gang!

Good Morning PAT & Karen.
Pat nothing on tap here except I'm going to make a small pillow to prop between my 'knees' when I'm in bed. The knees just don't like touching each other and one of the big regular pillows I've been using is JUST TOO BULKY and BIG. I have some fiber fill leftover from another project and will use a old pillow case to do this project later on.
I'm still feeling "TIRED" from counting sheep last night. Just couldn't fall asleep at all.

Karen you need to take a picture of this GRAVEL PROJECT at your house. Just can't figure out what you're doing except trying to prevent ERROSION in between the houses? Does the neighbor get involved in any of this? Ha Ha.... I didn't think so.

Pat hope you have a good brunch.
The rest of you Wrabbits have a good day too.

MAN oh MAN it's HOT outside and HUMID big time. We drove through the big park on the way home and LOTS of people putting their small boats in the lake. Never saw that many trailers in the boat parking lot. Not sure they'll be cooling off being on the lake and the sun beating down on them.

Later..........

Kathie, I will post a picture when I'm done...it's not for erosion it's just there is a 5 ft wide dirt walkway between my house & the house next door...it just always looked messy & unkempt to me so I finally decided to spread the gravel to make it look nicer...I was going to talk to the neighbor about doing it but I rarely see her out...she's not in the greatest health so I just went ahead & did it....I keep my spare garbage can's in this space & my water softener is there too...so I use it more than she does anyway...I could have put mulch down...would have been cheaper & easier...but it tends to draw bugs down here & that's not good...

Snap it's HOT! Currently 86F but the humid makes it feel like 100F. Which I guess is cool considering we're supposed to feel like 108F in a couple of hours.
It's not been a good weekend for friends and pups. First Buddy. Then three Greyhounds, the other Katie (NOT our Katie), Mocha Jo and finally Gus. Sometimes things just plain suck.
Karen, good call on the gravel between your homes. Grass likely wouldn't grow and as you said the mulch draws pests! A quiet day for you? Only 10 bags of rocks...Take it easy please. It sounds like there was something in the hutch that kept a bunch of us from a good night's sleep last night.
I've been wanting a good pancake breakfast for ages now Kathie. Problem is finding a good pancake place around here. I'm sure that Windsor offers some more choices but for now I get to complain. ;) I'm surprised that hey haven't put plexiglass on the seat backs up to the height of the hallway wall. That's kinda what has been happening here. How was breakfast? Did Art enjoy his time at the Dream Cruise? At least being 4th in line he got his choice of size for a shirt.
Funny Pat, I just said to Lu-Ann that Henri isn't much of a storm. All of the real storms seem to hit a night! I think that most of the NFL teams are playing their backups for the pre season so I wouldn't be too concerned - YET!
I forgot about the NYC concert last night. We watched an episode of The Mandalorian on Disney+. I get a kick out of the little guy everyone calls "Baby Yoda".
Thanks Dave for the kind comments and encouragement. It's things like that that make it all worthwhile. I'm sure it's the same for you when folks comment on your dedication to the treadmill. Anytime you are wondering about that bag of chips or last cookie - call me. I'll give you my blessing to finish them up. :pI saw where Barry Manilow was stopped mid song because of the approaching song so he called Anderson and sang it on air that way. That should have kept "The Fanilow's" happy.
Like all of you I'm hoping that Marge, Eddie, Bill and Rita don't get too wet!
I got a "please excuse Lee for being absent note" from Little Katie at (cardiac) rehab to skip this Tuesday in favour of Thursday. Why? Because that's the day registration opens for mere mortals to register for the Princess Run. Registration for Run Disney Club members has been open for a week. If we can't get in there we may try to register for the "virtual" 5K. If we have to go that way watch for a note from me seeking a "US address" to ship our shirts and medals to...just sayin'...
I think it's time for a glass of wine. I took Lu-Ann to HomeSense this morning so she could pick up a few Hallowe'en items. She has a bunch but has decided that she needs more. Who am I to argue?
To quote Kathie "STAY SAFE........ya da, ya da, ya da........you all know the drill by now."

Finally getting a chance to get back here. Brunch was delicious, as was the mimosas to wash it down with. M&J and the kids also came, as well as our friends from down the block. We ate and chatted for a good 2 hours! Then M&J took the kids swimming right outside the Grille. Talk about being convenient! Now they are off shopping to pick up art supplies for Jennifer. Jimmy's cousin, the one who gave me that beautiful rose bouquet a few weeks ago, signed Jennifer up for an online painting class tonight. She is really something else, for sure!
Missy just got a box from her that had 4 t-shirts, a pair of shorts and a Halloween shirt for each of the kids along with other assorted stuff that she bought on her way back to Alabama last month. She is sooo generous and sweet.

Karen - That's a lot of stones you're putting down. How heavy are each of those bags? Good idea to quit for the day and take advantage of the pool. I just hollered at Bert. Here it is 95 degrees and he's outside spraying weeds. I told him earlier that it's too hot and that he shouldn't do it today. Being just like his father was, he went ahead and did it anyway. He came in with his shirt soaking wet, plus of course, the had nothing covering his head. He just seems to love giving money to the dermatologist!

Got my standard weekly call from our son in NC to tell me all the latest news from his family. Today's conversation lasted over an hour and a half. That was rare for us to talk that long, but we covered all sorts of topics - Afghanistan, covid, Deathsantis, and lots of other stuff, much of which we don't agree on. He watches faux news and other right wing programs and for an intelligent person, he buys into a lot of that BS.

Time now for me to relax for a while and psych myself up for an evening of eating leftover fried chicken and salads, as well as some fried butterfly coconut shrimp. I do believe we are also within an hour of happy hour, so I should warm up for that too!!

Not sure if I'll be back later. Missy is getting the materials for us gals to all take part in Jennifer's online painting class. Not sure yet if I'll do it and if so, that will be it for the night. I really need to get to bed earlier and try to get a good sleep for a change. So if I don't get back, you'll know why. Me: :sleep002: Bert::sleep: Grrrrr .... :)

Good evening Bunnies....from the sounds of it we should have planned a Zoom Cocktail party last night since it sounds like most of us were awake anyhow....

Pat, sounds like a nice Sunday with the family....and best of all no cooking for you....win/win!! Each bag of rocks weighs about 50 lbs....which is why I only do 10 bags at a time....

Dave, the funny thing about weeds....you pull 1 of them and 3 more grow back....I missed out on that concert last night...bummer!

Kathie, glad Art was able to spend time at the Mustang show & get his traditional shirt....how about a pic of your handsome husband in the new shirt.....glad you had a good breakfast this morning...they sure do look like they take pretty good precautions there...

Lee, I hope you are able to get registered for your Disney run...you've been training so hard for it.....So sorry to hear about the 3 greys passing...

Had a nice time in the pool this afternoon with Jane & Barb...it was just a bit over cast which helped keep us from getting to cooked...after I got home I called Wendy to see how she was doing...and invited her to join us at Jane's on Wednesday for lunch &
swimming....she said she'd like to come...so she will get to see Jane's new pool....now there is a glass of wine calling my name....tomorrow morning I'm going to Jane's to mow so will check in with you all after that....

Another week rolls around.

Feel so sorry for all the people losing their homes and lives because of these storms and flooding. It stings even more when it effects a small child.

And what's with all these puppy-dogs dying?

Pancakes or waffles? I must admit that I rarely eat either, but given the choice I'd choose a waffle. Those little square holes holding the syrup are like little gold mines of YUM. (And don't be giving me any of those fancy syrups.)

I like the look of that pancake place. Lots of booths. Whenever given the choice between a table or a booth I'll always pick a booth.

Was there some coffee drinking contest on Saturday evening with so many of you having difficulty sleeping?

Dreadfully hot and humid here yesterday, so I sure didn't last long digging out weeds. I know that it's best when I "hit the wall" that I should just shut down. No matter how much or how little progress has been made.

I may head out early this morning and snatch up a few more weeds. Pretty much all of this week will be sticky hot. Possibly becoming the hottest week of the summer.

SURE BEATS WINTER, THOUGH!
