Good morning.
Between Lisa’s arrival yesterday, me preparing our bathroom for paint and moving our planters to a sheltered spot because of high winds, rain and a pesky tornado warning the day kinda got away from me. That of course on top of the usual stuff.
After Ava’s walk at The Navy Yard we’re stopping at Lisa’s with a McD’s breakfast. Hey, don’t judge, that’s what she asked for. If she needs a hand Lu-Ann will stay and I’ll come home and paint. Then I can pop over while the paint dries.
Our VBS was just like regular school Karen. It ran during the day. Looking back, I think it was a way to give parents a break from us kids who had two months of ”new found freedom” from school. Hope Jane’s repair is a “cheap and cheerful” fix.
More lemon ice cream and what special snack made it’s way into the shopping basket Dave?
I hope there was a bit of a breeze at The Grille last night Pat. Too bad it all didn’t work out with the AC, music trivia and the such. When is it that Wesley heads to NOLA to work?
Hopefully you hear soon about your breathing test Nancy. I suspect that high heat and humidity doesn’t help.

getting 9 points to our opponents 2.
Would that be 15-2 Bill? I used to play “crib” as she called it with my Grandma all the time. I do believe it helped me learn to count!
Keeping you in our good thoughts Kathie.
Best get this day under way.
Everyone have a great, safe day.

Good morning. The right shoulder and wrist are hurting a lot. I think I will take a muscle relaxer this morning to help the shoulder. No plans for me today.

Dave, all tomatoes keep out of the fridge until you cut them then you can store in the fridge, no matter the size or type.

All have a great day.

Yeah the heat and humidity do not help, so I don't go outside very much and especially when our weather station say the temp is 100 or higher.

Good Mid-Morning Wrabbits.
What a crazy last few days.
Between going over to help out at Michalene's house with all the stuff one has to do to get ready to BURY someone it was busy.
We had horrible rain storm yesterday and through the night. No flooding in the basement. Art's handy work did the trip so far.

BUT our POWER WENT OUT in the SUBDIVSION. Not fun walking around with flashlights.
The power company restored 1/2 of the sub around midnight. Just NOT OUR HALF. They did get us back up and running around 10:25 a.m. Whew! Poor Jill and Ashley brought over a generator and pulled into the driveway and the power turned on. We all had a good laugh.
All is good now. I got to start the washer that was full of clothes and soap, but no water. Too funny.

Our trip to Chicago wasn't all that good when it came to seeing my brother. He's failing. I think he's just so lonely without his wife coming to see him everyday that he's giving up. It left me with a pit in my stomach. Then the sad news about my life-long friend passing it was a double punch in the gut.

I've read along last night while I was charging my phone in the car going in circles around the neighborhood. It charges faster if the car is actually moving. You guys have had some good chats.

Today I have to pick up Art's "funeral slacks" from his suit from the seamstress place not far from here. Seems ART HAS SHRUNK and they needed to be shortened. Good thing the top jacket fits.

Lee: How many times have you guys painted the bathroom since you moved in?? Is this the 2nd time or 3rd? Painting a bathroom, even though they are a smaller area, is way harder than doing a full wall in a family room. Good luck with it.

BB: Sorry about the A/C not working at the grill. Happy you got good reports from your doctors.
Bill: Glad you didn't get the flooding I saw in TV. Sure wouldn't want to own a business in downtown Vermont right about now. Hope your luck at the card game improves.
KC: Kudo's for getting through the last few days with the VBS kids. Like Dave said " You'll be teaching Sunday School Classes next! :emoticon 0102 bigsmile:

Dave: Hope you left some snacks and ice cream for other shoppers to grab up too.

Okay, I need to change out the laundry and get a few things in order around here before I have to go pick up the SLACKS.

Thanks for all your kind thoughts. It really mean a lot to me. Facebook is full of memories and condolences about dear +Ronnie. Not a bad bone in that mans body. If only the entire world could be like him. Yeah.... I know that's not ever going to happen.

Take care. Hug each other a little more.

Note: The Military cemetery is full for services on Friday and Saturday, so the family will have private services there on Monday. Poor Michalene has to wait it out a few extra days. The place is very popular with the service people because one it's a BEAUTIFUL piece of land and second it's very reasonable to be buried there. We are going to go there with the family on Monday per request from Michalene. There are a 4 other families that will be there too. All former Servicemen/

Good late morning! Another hot day on tap for us. The feels like temp is already 100!

Not much going on around here today and not really much to talk about right now.

I do want to remind Bill that the finale of Blacklist is tonight. We're going to have our own personal watch party here with drinks and popcorn. How exciting does that sound? LOL

I'll try to stop back later, but in the meantime, have a wonderful day, everyone!

My blood pressure must be out of sight right now. Ha Ha.

Gotta get MY clothes picked out for church services for tomorrow.
I refuse to wear BLACK. I will have a short black linen jacket, but will put it on only if it's raining or too cold. Fat chance of that.

Over and out. Have a great day my extended family.

Good to know Art’s hard work on the downspouts paid off Kathie. A tough few days for you for sure. Chin up kiddo. This is the second time I’ve painted this bathroom. Lu-Ann had originally wanted a coral colour shortly after we moved in but it came out a lot “pinker” than she hoped. So she shifted gears and decided to go with a “teal”. It looks good.
I’ve been hearing of a lot more “watch parties” for TV shows Pat. I think either Amazon Prime or Netflix has that option right on their page!
Ya, tomatoes are the darnedest things. Room temp is OK until you cut ‘em. Then into the fridge they can go.
I’m one tuckered puppy. After getting the bathroom painted here we headed over to Lisa’s. The painter had been and had done the laundry room. We guys finished the trim and got the rails for the drop ceiling put up while the ladies helped unpack and put stuff away. The garbage man isn’t going to be happy. We put out 8 bags of garbage and 5 bundles of broken down cardboard for recycling.
Have a great evening everybody.

Good evening. I went and got my hair cut this morning, feels so good. My right wrist has been hurting so much I have been wearing the one brace but have taken it off right now.

have been having over 100 every day this week, hottest was Tuesday it reached 108. It was 100 this afternoon when a big thunderstorm came in, temp dropped to 75 and in less than an hour we got 1.40 inches of rain.

Tomorrow we are going to Tampa, To hopefully take over an outside table and two chairs and so Bruce can work on the soffit on their house.

I just left a message at the Dr's that the inhalation thing has been working so go ahead and put in a RX.

All have a good night.

This summer sure has been one for the record-books across the country for dangerous high temperatures, rain, and flooding. And it seems like there is no end to it in site.

Sorry about your rough days, K2. It seems like the older we get the more rough days we have to deal with. When the lights went out and you had to use your flashlights, I sure hope the batteries in them weren't 10 years old. And then the internet goes poof. I hope Art had a cognac or wine with you. I know, you both shared the straw.

KC; Do you get to graduate along with the kids at VBS today?

BB & Bill, was "Blacklist" any good last night?

It's so nice of you Lee for giving job security to the garbage man. (Not to mention the paint store.) Opinions vary on how to store grape tomatoes. I for one, like my one bite grape tomatoes cold so I keep them in the frig.

As for what we got yesterday at the grocery store for a "different" snack food, Kathi spotted "Bugles". We haven't had those for years. Quite yummy.

Good morning! It's beautiful out this morning, but we all know looks can be deceiving. There's a t-storm hiding out there somewhere.

Lee -You sure do like to keep busy, don't you? That's a lot of unpacking that got done at Lisa's. The garbage man is going to earn his keep at her house!

Dave - I'm with you that cherry tomatoes have to be cold when you eat them, so we too keep them in the refrigerator.

Bill - So what did you think of Blacklist last night. We thought the first hour and forty-five minutes was excellent and really kept you guessing. The last 15 minutes and the ending was sort of a letdown as so many questions never got answered. I was hoping we would finally find out what Red's relationship was to Elizabeth. Guess we'll never know now ...

Karen -I bet those kids are wearing you out. Aren't you glad that today is the last day?

Kathie - Keeping you in our thoughts and prayers today. Here's a big ((HUG)) for you and Art.

Nancy - Have a safe trip to Tampa.

We're off and running again this morning. The Caddy needs an oil change and on our way home we'll stop at the German bakery for some goodies. You gain calories just walking in the door! Then, depending on the weather we might go to DeCarlo's tonight. Haven't been there since before Bert broke his hip, so we need a treat!

Time now for a cup of coffee before we get our day into gear. Have a fantastic day, everyone!

Good morning & TGIF!!!

Dave, I generally only buy cherry tomatoes & keep them in the fridge, since it takes me a while to go thru a container I've found putting them in a zip lock bag & back inside the container makes them last longer.

Not sure about graduating tonite but a nice glass of wine is definitely on the agenda when I get home!

Pat, I am VERY glad today is the last day, but the kids have been pretty good, yesterday we even got to go first to dinner & first to collect their prize in the evening because my group was being so good. Miss Karen don't put up with no nonsense when they are in church, sit down & be quiet.

Lee, sounds like divide & conquer getting Lisa settled into her new place. It's always nice to have friends around to pitch in on things like that.

Nancy, have a safe trip to Tampa, hopefully you won't run into any bad storms on the way there or back.

Bill, nice to hear the PT seems to be helping, will they give you exercises to continue at home once it's finished?

Did a few errands this morning & now I'm just going to chill out for the rest of the day until it's time to head back to VBS.
No chance of me teaching Sunday School cause thank goodness the church doesn't do SS. They do have a kids church at 10:30 but since I don't go to that service I should be able to avoid getting pulled into that.
Enjoy the day all!

My physical therapist regularly gives me printouts of exercises to do at home, most of which I do the first thing each morning, KC and I expect that there will be additional ones before I am finished.
BB, I had a bit of a mixed feeling about the ending of Blacklist. Overall I agree with you about the final episode but I somehow felt that the ending was an appropriate way for Reddington to go out. I had expected (feared) that he would go out in some sort of blaze of gunfire or explosions, which would have been the easy way for the writers to finish the series. Instead, I thought it was a fitting acknowledgment that he was, in many ways, the classic matador, facing his final opponent with an inevitable ending. It probably won't end up being as memorable an end to a series as some shows have done, but it wasn't too shabby.
I will miss the series.
Loud thunderstorms here during the night and today is gray and very hot and humid. Not the heavy rainfall that other parts of the state received and nowhere near as bad as what NY, NH, or VT have, and are, experiencing. Once again, though, we expect a wet weekend.

Hey there everyone.
A very Good Friday evening to you all. Another busy day here with getting a few more things sorted for Lisa, stuff for us and so it went.
Sorry to hear your Tampa trip was cancelled Nancy.
It sounds like you enjoyed VBS and your group Karen. I reckon you set the boundaries for the kids early on and stuck to them. What a concept! Giving kids boundaries, direction and expecting them to follow them!
So what you’re saying Bill is that Reddington met his demise on the horns of a dilemma?
Funny thing Pat. I met the bin man at the curb at Lisa’s place. I asked him if he’d like a hand tossing the bags in the truck. He said “That would be great!” Followed by “Thank You“ when we were done. An oil change, the German Bakery and DiCarlos. The world is again back on its axis.
Bugles. Those are indeed a blast from the past Dave. The hold so much dip if you choose to dip ‘em but they’re great on their own. With a beverage of course.
I do hope today wasn’t too tough for you Kathie.
It’s supposed to rain, heavy rain, starting early Saturday morning and continuing all day and perhaps into Sunday. We do need it.
Time to head down for a little ping pong.
Have a great evening everyone.

Good evening. We got a bunch more rain today. And when it was almost done I noticed that the driver window on Bruce's van was down, I went out with the keys and found the other window open too, so both sides got wet.

I have had the brace on my right hand almost all day but have it off right now until I go to bed. I will be so glad to see the hand Dr on Thursday.

All have a good night.

I survived VBS!!! YAY!! The kids put on a show for their family & friends tonight with the songs & bible verses we've learned this week. Once all the kids & families left we took down all the decorations & got the church mostly back in order for Sunday. I will post a pic of my crew tomorrow. Proud crew leader that I am, we got picked again tonight to go to dinner first.:emoticon 0115 inlove:

Good Saturday morning, Bunnies!

Excellent KC, excellent. If only most parents would demand discipline of their kids, they too wouldn't have so many arguments and trouble from them, like you do. Oh yea, did you treat yourself to some wine last night once VBS was over?

BB; Your mention of your Caddy made me hope that its' air conditioner was still working fine.

Lucky you Bill, still ducking the heavy rain and flooding hitting the northeast.

It's funny that you mentioned "Bugles" were great for dipping. Kathi said the same thing when we bought them. Well done; A welcome good deed helping the trash guy load up all those bags of junk.

I hope K2 that your Friday wasn't too sad and depressing. But filled with happy and great memories.

OOPS, a dysfunction and failure happened in Bunny-Kitchens yesterday. Remember the hot dog buns Kathi was going to make? Well, it was a crash & burn attempt. I'd mentioned that the pans were made in Germany. But Kathi didn't notice that the temperature the manufacturer said to set the oven at was in Celsius and not Fahrenheit. Maybe a second attempt today.

Good Morning Wrabbits. Thanks for all your thoughts and hugs.

You all know how big our church is from pictures I've posted.
It was a FULL CHURCH of family and friends celebrating +Ron Payok. A very nice send off indeed.

Came home and got a phone call from my niece that my Sister-in-law is in the hospital, again, with kidney failure. Only 17% function. She had the 1st dialysis yesterday. It only gets worse. They got a call from the Assisted Living facility and the hospice group that my brother is not eating and doesn't want to get out of bed. I think he's giving up. So glad we went and saw both of them a few days ago. Life sucks at times, but it's not in our control.

Karen: So glad that you survived VBS! Kudo's to you for taking on the task and for getting your group to listen and be attentive. Hope you got that glass of wine after it was all over! Now to get a little "KAREN TIME" in for yourself. Hope you can get into the club pool or your sisters.

BB: Good to know the Caddy is still chugging along. Be careful with your travels in the HOT TEMPS you Florida Belles have been having. Just be glad you don't live in Arizona! My friend who lives there packed up and flew to Indiana to her daughters to get away from the heat yesterday.

Nancy: Hope your hands are doing better today. I think you've tried just about everything and still no results. All the best finding some relief.

DAVE: Bummer on the HOT DOG buns failing. By now I'm thinking that a package from the store of 8 buns would have to do for me. Hope the next batch works out for Kathi.
I thought of you last night around 9:00 pm when I scooped out a dish of Eddy's Double Chocolate Fudge Ice Cream. It was fantastic. Best part was that it was ON SALE for $2.99. A real bargain for good ice cream these days. I might have to go back and buy another carton before the sale ends.
Seems like our Kroger stores have been OUT OF STOCK on Kroger Brand 1/2 & 1/2 for 3 weeks now. I drink my coffee with that in it and no sugar. The name brands are twice as much. Need to try Costco next.

Lee: Now aren't you just the BUSY BEE lately. Painting and then going over to help out Lisa. You and your group of O.G.C. are truly good friends.
I don't know about you, but this rain can go away anytime. I must say though that Art's new grass seeding is doing quite well with the moisture and humidity. It's up about 1.5 inches.

Bill: Not sure if I've mentioned it to you or not, but if you get Netflix "Lincoln Lawyer" is a great 2 season series you can follow right now. We've been watching about 3 episodes at a time and it's really good and easy to follow. I think we have about 5 more episodes in Season 2 and then we'll be all caught up and have to wait and see if they have more Seasons in the Fall. It's nice to be able to watch 2-3 episodes instead of having to wait for a week to go by to catch the latest one. I wonder what will replace Blacklist and be to your liking? If the actors strike continues who knows what will happen to TV shows, movies, etc.

Hope your weather stays SAFE over your way.

I need to wash the kitchen floor and dust and
vacuum this house, but not sure any of that will happen today. It's gloomy and misty outside and just to depressing to get me in the mood to clean. Might make a batch of Biscotti's to have on hand for our coffee. They keep really well in a Tin Container.

You all have a good day and get out and ENJOY LIFE!

"Those we Love don't go away......they walk beside us every day!"
