Nancy - I forgot to mention earlier that your noises in the fireplace could be one of two things - baby birds (Chimney swallows) or a squirrel could have gotten in, if there is no cap on the fireplace. Ask me how I know this and I will tell you we had both happen when we lived in Ocala and had a fireplace. Bert had to remove the baby birds by hand before setting them free outside and one day I was sitting at the kitchen table when suddenly I saw something squeezing past the screwed in fire place screen. It was a young squirrel! I had to open all the doors to get it out of the house before the cat or dog spotted it. Needless to say, then we had the fireplace capped!! Lesson learned.

Karen - I like your mermaid. Can't wait to see what it looks like after it's been fired and glazed.

Bill - Talking about useless pieces of mail, Bert got a birthday card from our county commissioned and his wife who is our state representative. We cracked up as we dislike both of these people for how they are robbing our county blind and I am ashamed to say they are both democrats. They are getting rich off of their positions and need to go asap!! I told Bert to frame the card or use it as a dart board!!! LOL

So, see ya.

The Xfinity race is just getting ready to start. I hope I can stay awake for the whole race.

Pat there is a cap on top of the fireplace but I was thinking there could be a hole in it. Just told Bruce and he thinks it was something at the cap.

All have a good night.

Time to hide your ice cream, vodka, and deviled-eggs that have dill pickle pieces in them.......HE'S BACK!

The bypass vein put in my right leg WORKED. Right foot is considerably warmer. The surgical area will remain covered for over a week. Unless I develop a temperature, numbness or some other things occur. But so far, so good.

I'm now a bit weak and shakey. And using a walker. But that too shall pass. For a while my posting may be hit or miss.

A heads up K2; Since my wound that wouldn't heal for 6 months is now mostly cleared up the doctor took me off the medical honey. I'm now using something else on the wound to help grown skin over that spot.

Thank ya'll for your good thoughts and prayers. I've read all your posts since I got home. But lack the energy to post any more than this.

Thanks again.

Good morning. No real plans for today other than watching the Cup race this evening.

Glad you are home Dave. Just take it easy and follow Dr's orders.

All have a great day.

Yay! The master has returned!!! Let the weird food combinations begin!! In all seriousness, Dave, behave yourself and follow all doctor's & Kathi's orders to continue progressing.
Nancy - Enjoy your race later.
Bill - It's been so long since we were on our last cruise, I lost the email address to find out what the entertainment will be on our cruise. Could you let me know what it is. Thank you!
Our loin of pork dinner was delicious. Only thing that ruined it was how the kids behaved. Neither one of them wanted to eat, but they did manage to finish off a whole bowl of candy before dinner! This was not the first time they've acted like this. All I can say it's a good thing we are not their parents, as we would never tolerate that kind of behavior. They would have been off to bed if our kids acted up like that. Parenting sure has changed!!! The good news is that we definitely have plenty left for another meal, plus will be able to make some Cuban sandwiches.
Not a lot going on around here today. Bert's going with Jimmy to get a new carburetor for our generator. The carburetor won't work after all these years of not being used. Better to get the new one now than to wait until we might need it during a hurricane.
I'm waiting for a delivery of a big case of wine today. FedEx requires that you have to show them proof of how old you are, so at my age, I'm going to be carded!!! LOL
On that note, it's coffee time, but first a picture to make your day -

Good afternoon.
Breaking news…
BILL, LU-ANN THINKS YOU’VE BEEN HACKED! She got another friend request from you.
And now back to our regularly scheduled programming.
Say it ain’t so…We hear that Publix will not be making hurricane cakes this year.
Love the picture Pat. Even we kidless people know how parenting has changed. Not only would I have been sent to my room that didn‘t have any “connectivity” I may have had my arse lifted along the way. A good idea to keep the generator in good running condition. That should ensure that it’s not needed.
Good call on the walker and making one of your goals to be able to toss it aside as you improve your mobility Dave. I know a guy that used a walker to get to rehab and 9 months later ran a 5K. You’ve got this buddy!
How many projects do you have on the go this weekend Karen? I hope one of them involves sitting on your patio with your favourite adult beverage.
Hope the weather cooperates for your NASCAR races this weekend Nancy. Did you ever figure out what was going “bump in the night” by the fireplace?
Have you seen Art Kathie? We looked everywhere and in spite of what the sign said, we couldn’t find him..

I’m going to finish my coffee and get on the treadmill before it’s wine o’clock. I’ll be watching my F1 qualifying from The Netherlands to pass the time.

Thanks for the note about the possibility of my being hacked, Lee. It seems to happen all too often though I'm not sure how or why. I also get lots of friend requests allegedly from folks I am already friends with and I quickly delete them. Have changed my passwords so often that I can no longer remember which one I currently use. Fortunately my new laptop uses my fingerprint in place of a password.
Patriots performance in their last preseason game was abysmal so not sure what to expect when the regular season begins on Sept. 10. FFL draft is tonight and I am waiting to see how many people will be returning to my football pool. We had 30 last year which was a high point.
I have to check to find the email
address for the RCI entertainment, BB. As soon as I do, I will pass it along to you.
Weather today is a
great timprovement over yesterday, so I should get outside to enjoy it.

Pat- the address I have is: web_reservations@rccl.com.
I just emailed them about our Greenland cruise and will see if that
still works.
I got an acknowledgement from them so it apparently works. Will see if I get the info I requested.

Well Bill, Lu-Ann suggests using "Kenny" as a password.
Then you will remember your password if you think of "Kenny Loggins". :emoticon 0102 bigsmile:

You made my day BB with your picture of the Buffoon's plane. His name removed and replaced with his prison number. It made me happy.

I'll tell you one thing Lee; I've never seen anyone but you come from serious heart problems to a full recovery so fast. All that work and frustration paid off.

Bill; You and Rita sure have more than your fair share of getting hacked.

It's sure a good thing that your basement sump-pump has a backup battery, K2. Right about now, a LOT of people wish theirs did. In northern Ohio there's still thousands without power from those storms a couple of days ago.

KC; And now Bob Barker passes at 99. For all his life he was a protector of pets. Just a good guy.

Ya'll have a fine day. Mine starts off with a hot burrito covered in hot salsa.

He’s baaack! And isn’t that great. It, like the tune, make me happy.
Like Kathie’s neighbourhood, Harrow a little town just south, got way too much rain, flooding and power outages the other night. This is the same town that took a hit from a tornado about a month ago.
We hope that things are drying out and your power is back Kathie.
Between Bob Barker, Betty White and Doris Day there were many animals who benefitted. They all seemed like good hearted people.
Jeans and a sweat shirt were in order for our early walk. The temperature was 56F when Ava and I headed out. A good day to get the grass cut.

I could use a coffee to warm up. Anyone care to join me?
Have a fantastic Sunday everyone.

Good morning. Well I watched the last of the race in bed and was not real happy with the end but it is what it is. Not sure if we will go to lunch but probably will.

Dave - You certainly are returning to the Dave we know, love, and whose eating habits totally confuse us!! Bought something at Trader Joe's the other day that even Jimmy & Wesley have refused to try - Smoked Ghost Pepper chili seasoning! I bet you'd give it a though, right?

The gang were back last night to help finish off some more of the loin of pork and to have a day early celebration of Bert's birthday. It did, of course include Carvel ice cream cake. Actually 2 of them in different flavors! Both were delicious and we still have some left for our "private" celebration this evening.

I can't believe they're still rehashing the repub debate a few days ago. Starting to get bored with some of the candidates, especially the Indian guy. He reminds me of a used car salesman as well having some very strange ideas. I think he's pushing to be lil t's running mate, God help us!!!

Kathie - You still sitting in the dark over your way? I'm sure you'll have a tale to tell whenever you get back on here.

Lee That was a bit too chilly this morning. I'd have just let Ava out in the yard and curled back up in bed!

Bill - Thanks for the email address. Even though ours is only a 4 nighter, I like to have some idea of what's going on in advance. I sure hope they have something for Halloween. The kids are all excited to be bringing costumes.

Nancy - Sorry the race didn't work out to your liking. Enjoy your lunch.

Karen - I hope you're getting a break from all the chores you take on. Good thing it's Sunday and you'll be in church/ That might be the only time you slow down all day!!

Time for a cup of coffee and a piece of the coffee cake I got Bert for his birthday. I hope everyone has something fun planned for today. Whatever you're doing, stay safe and behave yourselves!!

BB,The response I got was less than helpful since it didn't identify any of the entertainment but recommended making reservations as soon as possible to avoid shows being sold out. Only problem is that we will be on Jewel and no reservations are required (or even possible) for the entertainment venues on that class of ship.
Fantasy football draft last night went reasonably well and I think I am happy with the team we have assembled. Only time will tell. The draft has become very high tech with everything done our laptops and a large video screen in the clubhouse showing everyone's picks.
Hope Bert enjoys his birthday.
Didn't sleep well last night and not sure why, but hope things will be better tonight.

Here's to many, many more.

Now Bill, is our "how many years has it been now?" Bills vs Patriots wager on for this season?
Grass, front and back, all trimmed and cut.
Why yes, I would like a glass of wine. Thank you for asking. Purely so I can toast Bert on his birthday.

Good evening!

Pat, I'll join you & Lee in a toast to Bert's Birthday! Hope it was a great one & may he have many more! Slow down? If I were any slower lately they might send the morgue wagon for me.

Dave, so glad to hear being in the hospital did nothing to change your unusual eating habits, we would all become quite concerned if you were to start having scrambled eggs & bacon for breakfast or oatmeal.

Kathie, hopefully you are just getting unpacked & settled back in at home & not still without power.

Lee, that was quite a change in temps for you all this morning. It was cooler here when I first went outside around 7:30 but it didn't take long for the temp & humidity to rise up and make it HOT & Muggy again!

Took a couple days but the antibiotics have finally kicked in for my tooth, I think when I go back to the Dr. on the 11th I will ask her for a refill on them since I don't get to the dentist until the 25th of Sept. I don't want to take a chance on it acting up again.
Spent about 3 hours at the pool today, water was a bit cooler & we had some scattered cloud cover so it was nice. Well up until a bee got up under my hat & stung me on the ear! I thought I felt something crawling on my ear & when I went to brush it off it stung me. I was able to put ice on it right away & kept it on so it's not bothering me at all now. Bought some Benadryl at the Dollar store for just in case.
Other than keeping an eye on our possible hurricane I actually don't have much going on this week, wonder how long that will last? :emoticon 0102 bigsmile:

Just about time for Scooter & I to take our meds to chat with you lovely people tomorrow!
