As the immortal Yogi said, Lee: It ain't over til it's over. We can't see the game here in Florida but when I just checked on my laptop, Buffalo was ahead 20-14, but unless the 12 1/2 point spread is part of our bet, I feel relatively safe in predicting that our contest will be a wash.
We have met the folks we are renting from and they are now headed for their home in Michigan while we are settling in.
Lisa and her family arrived home by late afternoon yesterday. Kevin and Jamie and their kids drove to West Palm Beach and visited Jamie's dad and caught a later flight that got them back to Boston a little after midnight.t

Rita and had a minor problem disembarking. Since we were in the first group to disembark after those passengers who were taking their luggage off by themselves, the personnel at the terminal must
have thought we were part of that group so they sort of herded us past the area were the baggage was being held and through passpgort control and out of the building. We couldn't go back in to get our luggage and had to wait until the entire ship was cleared and any unclaimed luggage was brought outside. We still were on our scooters and the woman who was there to collect them took good care of us and when the luggage finally came out, she helped us to collect our bags and take them to the location where we could get transportation to the hotel where Rita's car was parked. Taylor had ordered an Uber for us before they left the pier and it arrived quickly and we were in the car and back on the road in a very short period heading for Vero Beach. We made a stop for food in Melbourne and finally arrived at the Fairfield Inn in VB where we stayed for the evening. The young woman who checked us in went out to the car and helped Rita get into the hotel where another hotel employee helped us get our luggage to our room. After resting for awhile we headed out to get a bite to eat at Rita's favorite pizza restaurant in Vero - Big Apple Pizza.
The hotel where we stayed is less than a mile from where we are renting so the trip to our new digs was brief.

When we stayed here last year we made friends with the next door neighbor who is also a native of Massachusetts so we were very happy when she came over to welcome us back.
The TV in the living room is enormous and looks to have a thousand channels so it may take a while to master the remote and get to the channels .
Will come back later to describe our cruise but overall it was a great experience made even better by having all of our family with us.

Congrats Bill. With the 12 points you had you sweep the season! It looks like The Ravens are handling Miami so next week‘s Dolphins / Bills matchup should be a dandy one!
The refs have really screwed up a lot of games this season Kathie.

Good evening, finally getting a chance to check in!

Dave, your daughter in Arizona comes up with some of the neatest gift ideas! What flavors of pizza did she send?

Kathy, thanks for the update on Pat, I'm glad she's able to participate and make her own decisions relating to her health care needs!

Bill, that stinks having to wait to collect your luggage because of the cruise lines mistake. I'm guessing they no longer escort top tier cruisers off the ship like they used to. Nice you are all settled into your winter home away from home!

Lee, it was very nice attending the block party as a "former" board member. The new president is such a sweet lady, she came up & gave me a big hug and said she was so glad I came. Actually all the former board members were there except for the former secretary who moved to Michigan just before Christmas.

Managed to get the sheets changed & 3 loads of laundry done before church this morning, got 2 of the loads dried before I left too. We had a guest priest today since Rev. Lisa is still on vacation, he kept the sermon short & I was actually home at about 20 mins before 12. Got the clothes I'd washed earlier all put away & then took a nap for about 1-1/2 hours. They are having a NYE party at the clubhouse with a movie & then watching the ball drop. I'm planning to go to the movie but won't stay for the ball drop, "assuming" I don't change my mind & stay home. It doesn't start till 8 and by then I'll most likely be ready to get in my comfy jammies & call it a night.
Wishing all my friends on here a Healthy & Happy New Year!

NICE CHATTER ON HERE Wrabbits!

Bill: Nice to know you’re settled and ready to relax for a few months!

Karen: Hope you have a good time at the Clubhouse and it’s a good movie. So nice of the new president to be welcome you with hugs! Sounds hopeful!
I got our sheets changed and washed today too! It’s a New Years Eve tradition for me. Start the NEW Year FRESH! Ha ha.

Okay, time to eat!
HAPPY NEW YEAR TO THE BEST IF FRIENDS!

Don’t want to put a damper on the NEW YEAR, but Missy said her Mom has taken a turn for the worse. Could be just days.
Bert & Missy are at the Hosp. Missy will stay the night if they let her.
I just thought posting on here, and going against my doing so, was the quickest way to inform you all. Prayers for our Pat and Bert and family.

The concierge did escort us to the point where we checked out and got off the ship and on the ramps that led to the terminal. The problem arose once we were in the terminal where the luggage is stored and where passengers have to clear CBP. I believe that the people working in that area. aside from the Customs officials are Interline employees and not Royal employees. It was as much our fault for not pointing out that we needed to get our luggage from the Suites and Pinnacle area before going through passport control. Once we were outside we couldn't go back in but as I said the woman at the scooter return station took care that we were able to retrieve our bags and took us to the spot where we were picked up by the Uber driver.
Met the owners of the home we rented and had a very nice conversation. They have made some nice additions to the place including a new enormous TV in the living room and added a television and some new furnishings in the Florida room, so we have TVs available to watch in three locations. Learning how to use the TV in the living room was bit of a challenge but I think I finally figured it out. There must bthe a couple of hundred channels that can be accessed, so many that it took a while just to find the basic network and. local channels.
Sorry to get the news about Pat and hope that somehow her situation can turn around.
Doubt we will be awake when the New Year arrives, so an early Happy New Year to All.

Thank you Kathie.
I hope and pray that Pat goes “all Jersey” on this thing and kicks it’s butt.
Good night my friends.
Have a Happy New Year.

Negc: Good to know the “Internet“ is working at the condo. Always a plus.
And the more TV’s the better! Can’t wait to read about your cruise. Glad Kevin made it home.

Watching Anderson Cooper in NYC. He actually seems sober so far! He’s actually boring! Ha ha. The crowds are enormous as every year. At least theirs no snow this year.
Signing off for 2023! May we all enjoy a healthy, fun and safe 2024! :emoticon 0115 inlove::clap002:
Dave: May you never run out of your favorite Ice Cream or 7-up in 2024! :beer2:

Happy New Year Bunnies! Yup, we made it.

Keeping an optimistic feeling for BB. She's a tough Lady. Thank you so much K2 for keeping us informed about her condition, good or bad.

My New Year's resolution; Don't make any damn New Year's resolutions.

Yes Lee, there is always ice cream involved when I first wake up in the morning before I post, and then go back to bed. Congrats on the Bill's win.

Geesh Bill, hung up for a long time over luggage. Every cruise is a new adventure.

KC; The new president of your HOA is a "sweet lady". Check back on her after a couple of months in that job. :) As for the kind of pizzas Kathi picked with the gift card.....5 with everything on them, 2 pepperoni, and 2 sausage pizzas.

Happy happy! Let’s all try and make 2024 a fantastic HEALTHY YEAR for the HUTCH FAMILY. Bless us all.

Well let’s see what 2924 has in store for us! With elections this year it should be a real Cluster F!  As Tony would have said… Phtfff!

Lee & Dave … you boys sure were up early. :emoticon 0102 bigsmile:

Good Morning & Happy New Year! Still praying that Pat will pull thru this latest round.

Dave, I think the new Hoa president is going to do pretty well, she's sweet but tough when she needs to be and she worked with Hoa's before so that's a plus.
Nice selection of pizza's for you & Kathi!

Kathie, I expect the 2024 elections to be a rerun of 2020 unless by some miracle Trump isn't able to run, and God help us all if he does run & gets reelected, they'll never get him out of the White house.

Bill, Ok, now it makes sense about the luggage mix up, glad at least the scooter lady was able to help & see that you got your luggage

Lee, How many more sleeps before you head south? You know you should have just posted your itinerary here cause we are all forgetful old farts, :emoticon 0102 bigsmile:

Didn't make till midnight but did go down for the movie, sad that only 8 people showed up for it. Still had plenty of snacks though and the movie was very good, RV with Robin Williams. I had never heard of it but it was very funny. Came home around 10:30, took my shower & went to bed. There were a lot of people shooting off fireworks earlier & I heard some at midnight but they didn't go on very long.
Jane is fixing dinner for New Years so will go over there around noon then come home & take the tree down. Have a good day all!

Good morning. The snow crab and spinach salad last night was real good. Had rum cake for dessert, I put some whipped cream on mine, very good.

The fireworks started about 6 and actually by 10 were pretty much all done. Some at midnight but not many.

More prayers going up for Pat, for the right outcome for her.

The weather station says it is 70 degrees outside but I am in the house and am cold.

Tonight we are having Prime Rib, Baked Potato and Caprese Salad. All easy to fix. I bought 2 different flavored butters and will mix them with regular butter to rub on the rib before putting in the oven. They make a nice crust on the rib.

All have a great day.

Snap is it cold! The thermometer says 32F but the wind chill makes it feel like 23F. It was quite chilly down at The Navy Yard this morning.
Have you broken your New Years Resolution yet Dave?
Yes Kathie, “when I got there the cupboard was bare”. Things are looking pretty empty. We cut food on hand about a week short. We are going to have to do a little shop to get us through the next 7 days. Supplemented with a couple of take away meals from a local restaurant or two.
Which is a good segue into your question Karen. We leave here a week from today, January 8. After stops at The Drury’s in Louisville, KY and Greenville, SC we arrive in St. Augustine for three nights. Then on into Emerald Island for 8 weeks. We're home on Monday March 11.
Hopefully the rabble doesn’t wear down your new HOA president and her committee. We all saw how frustrated you became over the course of your term. We heard the same thing from Tony about their HOA as well.
Sorry that you and Rita had a bit of a mixup at the pier Bill. I guess on the bright side you didn’t have a flight to catch. Odd team The Bills. They take control a dispose of teams with winning records but they let teams with relatively poor records hang around as a nail biter threat to the end.
Sounds like a really nice dinner you have planned Nancy.
Well, the exercise equipment waits for no man…

"Relatively poor records" is an extremely generous description of my Patriots record this year, Lee. Abysmal or embarrassingly atrocious" would be more accurate.
Didn't even come close to making it to midnight last night and the sun had been up quite a while before we stepped out of the bedroom. House was very chilly last night.(I understand that the low temperature was about 41degrees- more like we would expect back home. Sun streaming through the living room windows is warming everything up, but will have to check the thermostat to see if the settings need to be adjusted.
We are in a modular home in a "age qualified community", K2, not a condo. The condos were the two years before to last year. Right now we are watching the Rose Parade on the living room's huge TV.
Praying along with everyone that Pat does an amazing turnaround and stays with us a while longer.

32F. …. REAL Feel is ….25F
Brr!

The Rose Bowl parade never disappoints. :clap002:

Going to have Jill’s God-parents over for coffee & cake today. We are also God-parents to their kids!
Should be nice to actually mingle with close friends.

Bill: Nice you have that big TV to watch the parade. The weather will temps will slowly get warmer. It is Winter after all! Ha ha.

Later gang.

I saw my error in the YEAR I posted. :emoticon 0102 bigsmile:

I thought that you were just planning well ahead with the year Kathie. ;) Enjoy a nice afternoon.
"Age Qualified Community". I like the sounds of that Bill.

Abysmal or embarrassingly atrocious"
...they may well be but they put $2 in your wallet.
The young fella across the street got a basketball net and stand for Christmas. Ben is 10 and he's out there with another young chum of his shooting hoops. Both wearing hoodies and shorts.
Young / Stupid. It is indeed a fine line with the temp just a hair over freezing and the windchill at 22F. Doesn't that sound like an old, if I may borrow Karen's expression, "fart". :emoticon 0102 bigsmile:
Back to getting all the cables for the devices organized for our trip.

Hi Wrabbits! Dang it’s cold outside. Brrr. Glad we didn’t have to leave the house today.

Watching the ROSE BOWL! And even though I‘m not a U of M fan I will root for them to WIN over Alabama!

Visit with Milan and Helen was great. Our families go back to Grandparents and then parents. Our ties are like that with most of the Serbs in our church community. Helen is originally from Windsor, (across the Detroit River). Our choir boys married a lot of Windsor choir girls! Ha ha. We were best Man and Maid of Honor at each others wedding. Okay enough about all that.
They stayed for 3.5 hours and it seemed like a lot less time.

Lee: Isn’t it AMAZING just now many cords, etc you need to gather up for a long vacation! Just remember to bring some LONG SLACKS and a warm jacket. Temps look a tad chilly for awhile. But we all know you’ll be in SHORTS ASAP! Ha ha.

Dave: You made me chill up saying you eat ICE CREAM before posting. Bless you.
Karen: I mist agree with you on never getting the Orange Man out of the White House if he actually makes it there again! Lord hear our prayers to keep him out.
Glad the movie was a funny one. I’ll have to look it up.

Tomorrow is a DO NOTHING, GO NOWHERE DAY! It might be a good year after all!

Thinking of our Pat and Bert all day.
Back to the Rose Bowl game.
