Good afternoon. Just got the call about my time for surgery tomorrow. I have to be there at 7:15 for a 7:30 surgery. I don't really like having to get up early but this is better than having to wait all day. I have MiraLAX to take with the pain med since the last time it gave me constipation real bad, so hopefully this will work to keep it from happening again. I am sure I will be in bead early tomorrow and probably take a nap in the afternoon.

Bruce has built an above ground planter and will be putting tomatoes in. Most of the dirt for it came from our compost bin, which we have had for a few years. It is right out side of the back porch door

I have just made two more LEGO flower kits. I won't be able to for at least 2 or 3 weeks if not more after surgery.

Got a call this morning about my next appt with the Podiatrist and had to move it to later in the week, no problem. Also have the appt to get the stitches out from surgery. My feet are still hurting from the shots, hope that quits soon.

All have a great day.

Yep, I feel like a dinosaur around tool sections now as well Mike. I do have an older battery, 12 Volt I think, powered drill. Most of the rest of my power tools are corded. My lawn mower, trimmer and blower are all battery powered.
How’d the haircut turn out Kathie?
We headed to Costco and arrived around 11:00. There wasn’t a parking spot to be had. People were just sitting in pretty much every aisle waiting for somebody to leave. We just left and headed to a nice little cafe for an early lunch. We may try going closer to opening tomorrow.

Drive to the East Side for hair cut went well.
I feel lighter! Ha ha. I wish!
Picked up my new prescription EYE GLASSES from Costco. THEY ALL WORK GREAT!
One pair for distance driving (mostly for night driving) are great and stay in the car.
The Bi-focals for reading and looking up to see TV are great too. No lines, just hVe to use my eyes or move my head to see the TV clearer.
Last pair, that were very thrifty since I used a older pair of frames are for JUST READING.

I’m all set for a long time. Glad it all worked out so smoothly.

Got gas at Costco for $3.29 a gallon.

Our local Kroger’s is charging $3.79 today. CRAZY PRICE DIFFERENCE!
I saved over $6.50 on my fill-up!

Sure glad my female family members don’t live in Arizona. The thought they they upheld a 1864 ABORTION law is ABSOLUTELY INSANE.
I can only imagine what other horrid thongs will be happening of Trump becomes President. So sad.

Still dry here right now and sunny. It won’t last. Thursday is a full RAIN day.

As you say K2; "ALWAYS SOMETHING".

Yesterday morning our main TV in the living room refused to work. And still doesn't. Just says "no signal". So if we want to watch the boob-tube we have to go down to the basement.

Kathi called the cable company and they concluded that the little box for the the living room's TV is the problem, so they are sending us a new one. Which will take 4 to 6 DAYS!

So how did your youth group dinner go last night, KC? Wow, that's some driver's course you're taking.

In answer to your question Lee, YES Mike and I were in the total eclipse area.

I see Mike that those tomato plants have been calling your name and have gotten your attention. I agree that most people prefer battery powered tools now.

I see that you now appreciate SUVs more than you used to, K2. You can see better sitting up a bit higher. Very few people are in the market for sedans these days. Happy to hear that your new glasses work great. Sucks when you have to send them back because they didn't get the prescription ground just right.

Not much planned for me today. Kathi will be going for a massage this morning.

It is just pouring. I don’t see an outdoor walk in my day based on the forecast.
Good to hear the glasses are all good Kathie. And your trim went well too. Be careful driving back to the east side in the rain.
Of course your cable company will credit your bill for the time your service is unavailable, won’t they Dave? I also believe in Santa, The Easter Bunny and The Tooth Fairy. ;) I don’t think there are two many traditional sedans being made anymore. What amazes me is the number and cost of what I have to call luxury pickup trucks out there!
Do any of the youth group turn up their noses (where did that expression come from) at the dinner you help prepare Karen? What age range are the young folks?
That’s about it from here for now.
Do your best to enjoy the day.

Been home from my hand surgery for awhile now. Time for it was 7:30 and I was done and out the door before 8. We had breakfast at Burger King and was home before 9. Except for my thumb me hand is numb and very cold. Get to take the bandage off Sunday morning. For today and tomorrow have to keep the hand raised as much as possible to keep the swelling down, Bruce is picking up the pain med and I have him asking them whether to take the MiraLAX before, with or after, so I don't get constipated again.

Of course am typing with just the right hand.

All have a great day,

Sad Its Raining GIF by Travis Foster
RAINING since the middle of the night. Gloomy too.
April Showers bring May flowers.........sure they do!

Trip to the East side of town by way of I94 freeway was one big FOG OF TRUCK SPRAY. Drivers were all doing 63-65 mph. (thank goodness)

DAVE: Bummer on that Cable box and how long it takes to get to you. We're lucky to be able to just drive up to the Xfinity/Comcast store and pick it up.

I stopped by the HUGE Ford dealership yesterday on the way home from my haircut and looked around at some of the SUV's and the WINDOW STICKER PRICES are unreal. Not sure if what brand of SUV I'll be getting in July, but I know one thing no matter what I get the price will be WAY MORE than what my current lease it. Time to think about biting the bullet and just buying it outright.
I don't think they even make Sedans much anymore.

I'm turning on the HEAT in this house. It just has a cold DAMP feeling from this rain and I'm not liking it at all.

Karen: Hope the youth group dinner was good. That church sure does do a lot for it's members.

Later gang. I think I need some of my OLD FASHION MIX to warm me up. It's got to be
5 O'Clock somewhere.

Fay went to the ear Dr. ths morning, will have to go back in 2 weeks. It has been raing hard here off and on all morning.
Lee, I think there are more pickmeup trucks being driven around here than there is any thing else and t hey are huge. I had a big pick up years ago but not anything like todays. It was a working pick up and had the safety rims.
Dave, our TV did that also except the no signal sign kept rotating arount t he screen or everything on the screen was a large blob. They did send someone out to fix it.
K2, I just buy a pair of reading glassed from the dollar store. I only use t hem wh en I'm on t he comuter. I have an appointment with the optomitrist????? coming up, need two appts., one for glasses and one for a problem with my eyes. Thanks for the video.
I started to check out the last frost dates for t he part of Ohio. It gets very hot here in the summer and tomatoes don't like extremley hot weather. Karen, I looked up the problem with the leaves turning, there are a buch of reasons.
Coffee is calling.

Good afternoon! We've had quite a bit of wild weather here today, but so far nothing serious, lot's of wind & rain. We've been under a tornado watch for most of the day but for right now the wind & rain have stopped.

Dave, that bites about the cable box going out. When that happens on my screen it's usually just the power has blipped out & I just have to push the cable button & then on using the remote and it comes back. Then I have to push tv, then off on the remote to get the tv to turn off but then it's fine till we have another power blip

Kathie, that's a nice looking ride Ashley has now, I would not even want to know the sticker price on it though. It's crazy what new vehicles cost these days. Your haircut looks great as usual!

Mike, my tomato problem isn't with the leaves, it's the tomato's themselves that get black on the bottom before they get ripe. It's probably a combination of to much rain in the summer & to high of temps. It's a shame cause nothing beats a fresh tomato & mayo sandwich on white bread.

Lee, sorry you weren't able to get out & take your daily walk, the squirrels at the Navy yard will miss you for sure! As far as I know none of the kids have ever complained about the meal, a couple did ask last night if the chicken strips were fish because they are used to seeing chicken nuggets instead of the bigger chicken tenders they had last night.

Nancy, glad the surgery went well. Now comes the fun part of recovery!

Dinner last night went well, but we had waaaay to much food, we never really know in advance how many people we will be serving, but it's usually around 10-15 and we plan for 20. Last night we only had 8 kids & 4 adults counting Pam & I and 2 of the adults didn't eat dinner. Even with a couple of the kids coming back for 2nds Pam & I each had a big bowl of mac & cheese & a couple chicken tenders each to bring home, plus Pam took another BIG bowl of mac & cheese that she is going to take to a pot luck this weekend. We also had also had about a doz or more chicken tenders that I wrapped up good & brought home & put in my freezer for next month. Pam always buys the food for the dinners with her own money so it's only right she takes the leftovers. The only thing I didn't bring back home were the brownies I made for dessert, there were 5 left on the platter so I left them for the kids to finish off.
The kids range in age from around 14- 18, with most being on the younger end.

Managed to get most of my housework done today since the weather was to bad to work outside. All I have left to do tomorrow is change the sheets on the bed.
Choir practice tonight & hopefully it won't start raining again!

That's about all the news from Belleview, have a great evening all!

That was one FANTASTIC video you posted, K2. "It's 5 o'clock somewhere." We ALL have days like that. Hope your Old Fashion mix warmed you up.

The passing of O.J. Simpson. I'll always remember that slow police chase of him and his friend in that white Bronco, and the 11 month trial of the "Juice" once he was arrested. It became a daily soap-opera viewed by millions of people.

KC; With all those leftover, I'm glad you found a home or freezer for them.
"nothing beats a fresh tomato & mayo sandwich on white bread." Except for the one that also has lettuce and bacon. :)

Lee; Here's the update on our living room TV; On Wednesday, Direct-TV, our cable provider, said they'd send us a new box & remote. And it would take 4 to 6 days for us to get it. Surprise, surprise......we got them yesterday, in less than 24 hours. And the TV is back up and running. Atta-Boys to Direct-TV.

Same around here, Mike. It seems that pick-ups are the favorite mode of transportation. And many of them are gigantic, just like their price tags.

Got another nice surprise yesterday. My new prescription glasses came in earlier than expected. So today we'll pick them up before we go grocery shopping.

Wet, wet, wet. Supposedly all day. BUT, tomorrow should be nice and sunny.
Always a favourite tune of mine Kathie. Any chance you’ll look at a hybrid or an electric vehicle when the time comes?
That makes it tough to plan for the youth dinner when you never know how many are coming Karen. That’s quite a contribution and commitment Pam makes supplying all the food. Glad that weather didn’t turn really nasty!
You’ve got me thinking Mike. Maybe a pair of “cheaters” from the dollar store would be OK to replace my seldom used and old computer glasses. I bet you were everybody’s “go to guy” when you had that pickup.
Seems DirectTV understands under promise and over deliver Dave. I’m curious. Do they even want the old box back? The last time we called to get a box replaced Bell just told us to dispose of the old one! Now guess what kind of sandwich I have a mysterious hankerin’ for…
With OJ passing I guess we’ll never know for sure if he did it or not. A real hero to zero story.
I got another light up and wired in the storage area of the basement. Today I think the plan is to reorganize some of the stuff down there which likely means tossing a bunch of stuff we haven’t used in four years.
Have a super day folks.

Hi Wrabbits!
Nice posts.
Karen: Glad the tornados didn’t land in your neighborhood. Nice there was more than enough food for the kiddies. Also nice of you to freeze the leftovers for next time.

Lee: Good to keep up with throwing things out. We have WAY TOO MUCH JUNK THST NEEDS PITCHING OUT!

I have had a Hybird car before and liked it! I will never get an Electric vehicle unless they TOTALLY stop making cars with GAS engines. Ha ha. I’m too old for those. Too much trouble to find snd wait for a “charging station”. I think there is 1 station I’ve seen around here since they’ve come out! And I don’t want to pay to install a charging unit in our garage. :emoticon 0106 crying:

Dave: Good you got your TV up and running again. Hope the new glasses work out for you.

Mike: I use to be able to buy “cheater glasses “ years ago. But I have MONO VISION now, and each eye is different so I have to get prescription lenses.

It’s REALLY WINDY HERE RIGHT NOW. And still spitting rain.

Bill: What are you up to lately.

Called AAA about our car insurance. You have to wait forever online. They want you to use Computers for payments and questions. Hate that. Unless you use AUTO WITHDRAWAL from your checking or banking accts they are charging you MORE MONEY. Time to look for a new Auto Insurance company.

Out of here for now.
Art’s back from RELUCTANTLY getting a hair cut. Ha ha

Karen, it looks like your tomatoes have blossom end rot or tomato end rot. I looked it up but I can't seem to paste the video url on here. What it is is a lack of calcium that is caused by too much water. See if you can look it up, blossom end rot.

Nice picture Dave. I also remember watching OJ in his white Bronco. I used to admire himi,
Lee, when I got my small pick up it was used more by my friends than I used it. 5 minutes ago the sun was shinning, now it is hailing and pouring. I have a cleveland pear tree and the stems of the little pears have clogged up my gutters. the stems get stuck in the screen. I'll try to vacumn or blow them off when it gets dry.
K2 I have double vision and my eyes are also diffferent. I keep the cheater glasses and an eye patch next to my computer and I wear bi-focals. I have an appointment with the Optometrist soon.
Nancy, I sleep good every night, morning afternon and evening.

“Who’s that behind those Foster Grants?”
Yep, if you remember that ad campaign you may be as old as Dave!
We’ve had varying amounts of rain here all day Mike but no hail. Or sunshine.
My only concern with a full EV Kathie is that recharge time on a long trip. If we didn’t go too far at any given time I’d really seriously consider one.

Finally stopped raining here! I turned on the deck light and saw my chaise lounge cover is almost off the cushion and the chaise itself is moved. The WINDS were crazy strong here all day!

LEE: I remember Angeline & Nancy driving to the Cabin and Angeline had the Tesla and they spent 2 hrs charging it up on the way up! And just think if you had to wait for someone else to get done charging before you could hook up! Like you said … if you only did local driving it might work, but think of traveling to Kissimmee and the stops along the way! Just how many “charging units” did you notice on your trip??
Just not for me.

So anybody want to place bets on whether the Jury Selection will actually happen on Monday? And if Trump will actually take the stand in his defense?? I can just hear him babbling on and on and wasting the courts time. What a crazy country we’ve become.

Okay, it’s 2:39 am and now thst I woke up on the couch it’s time to shuffle into bed!

Try and keep the noise down in the HUTCH in the morning! :emoticon 0124 worried:
