Add me to the list of northerners complaining about this round of heat and humidity.

Hope Art is doing better today after getting his back molar pulled yesterday. Good looking pick-em-up. Time to get some mud on it with some off-roading.

You've got me curious Lee; What kind of things do they teach you in that "Parkinson's Care study"? So happy to hear that you got to register for that 5K.

Always a DElight hearing what you are up to, KC. Glad that your brownies turned out fine and didn't become door-stops. My mother was never a good cook. EVERYTHING was overcooked. And all meats were well-done and then some. With Rev. Lisa back from vacation things can get back to normal around the church.

I don't know about you Mike, but the new smaller vehicles they use now instead of those big Grand Marquis' just don't look like police cars to me.

Not a lot on our grocery store list this week. But we still plan on heading there this morning.

Well, for fear of repeating a recurring theme, it’s HOT. It’s already 70F here and feels like 77F. And that’s as cool as it’s gonna be today! We had a couple of passing showers yesterday but they only added to the humidity. Like you said Kathie, it smelled like a damp swamp.
Nice looking truck Jill has. But I always have to wonder why young ladies feel the need to have HUGE pickup trucks to get around town? It’s the same around here. How long until Art feels up to a bike ride? He and the rest of the gang should take it easy in this heat!
What a wonderful catchup note Karen. Brownies. What’s not to like about them. And yes, they do need to come out of the oven a tad before you think they’re done.
You folks try to pick a date and a place and we’ll do our best to make it work from our end. We would consider leaving Ava over night with friends.
Hiya Bill. How you doin’ this morning.
Best get a move on. Lu-Ann has an appointment this morning. I don’t know if we’ll try to get the pup out for a second walk, her first was at 5:45 with me, before we go or not. I know it won’t be later in the day with the heat warnings in the forecast!
Be good everyone.

Just like the others have said on here........IT'S GOING TO BE HOT AGAIN today!
Hot is okay, it's the darn high humidity that can send you over the edge when walking out the door! o_O

Lee: Hope Lu-Ann's appt goes well. And good not to walk Ava later in the day. You'll be lucky enough to get her to do her business in the yard! ;)
We'll have to get a map out and see about a meet up place. Would be nice to find a place like a Winery or a nice restaurant, etc. Too HOT to think about that right now.

By the way... ART IS OUT ON A BIKE RIDE ALREADY THIS MORNING. They're going to be soggy bikers by the time they get back to base camp!

DAVE: I have NO CLUE as to why my "girly girl daughter" ever got into buying TRUCKS. And BIG TRUCKS on top of it. I do feel a tad bit more at ease knowing she's in a taller/bigger vehicle than the other guy if anything should happen!

Karen: Good to know your back is okay and no more digs!
How did the lunch-get together go? Sounds like yummy food for sure.

Bill: Hope you're doing well with your re-hab. I was wondering if your heal pain issue could be Neuropathy? Hope you got some good sleep last night.

Mike: I counted 48 Cherry type tomatoes on the 3 plants we have. The plants are nothing like last years in size, but I think they're giving off more tomatoes. They good to eat as is or cut in half on a salad. NOTHING BETTER than fresh tomatoes. I don't buy the store ones in the Winter. They're like plastic.

I'm out of here for now. Happy Grocery shopping Dave & Kathi!

STAY COOL WRABBITS.

Currently 82F feeling like 102F. That's a tad warmer than we’re used to!
To answer the PD question…I am part of a Parkinson’s Care Partner study being run by The University of Western Ontario. Lu-Ann’s movement disorder specialist is affiliated with UWO through the hospital there. That was how they got my contact information. Dr. Jeff Holmes is spearheading the study and asked if I would be interested in participating. Yesterday was a follow up with responses from all of the other respondents. It has been, to this point, a blind study with people ranging in age from mid 20’s to early 80’s and all the ages in between. Yep, PD is not just an “Old Person’s Condition” any more. From some of the answers it was pretty easy to see who fit into what age groups and categories determined by the patient’s progression. Anyway, I look forward to the next step in the process where Jeff is hoping to get enough “thumbs up” from participants to take part in an on line round table.
After my Sweetie’s appointment this morning we headed up to a little cafe in the town of LaSalle where we enjoyed a delightful sandwich and a couple of coffees. Too hot to do much outside, even by The River.
Enough from me. You all behave and please stay safe and cool.

Well I guess right now I take the prize for coolest temp, 78 degrees, feels like 84! It's been thunder rumbling for the last hour or so but no rain so far & not looking like we will get any either.
Lee, thanks for the info on your PD study meeting, very informative!
Kathie, that is a sweet looking truck Jill bought, I would need a step ladder though to get up into it for sure!
Dave, hopefully the grocery list did not expand to much on arrival to the store. I sometimes think I spend more money with a short list than I do a long one. I guess it's the "bargain" mentality, since I don't need much for staple items I can toss in a few more splurge items
Swim lunch went well yesterday, it was hot & sunny but the pool felt wonderful! All the egg salad was devoured and a good bit of the fruit.
Managed to sell a couple more items on Facebook today & made an easy $35, nice way to supplement my "pin money" as my grandma used to say.

Saw my test results online from Tues. bloodwork, chlrosesteral is still up a tad but it's down over all from last check up so hopefully I can dodge taking medicine for a bit longer.
That's about it from Balmy Belleview, nothing to much exciting going on at all around here

That sounds like an overall good health report Karen. Well done on the “pin money”. I’d heard it but I admit having to look up the origin of that phrase.
Still stupid hot and humid here. Not a soul out on the street. I feel sorry for all those folks who‘s jobs mean they have to be out on days like this.
It’s warmer here than it is in Kissimmee!
Just checkin’ in to see how everyone is doing this afternoon. Stay cool my friends.

Since I very seldom go outside the heat doesn't bother me. I will go out to enjoy the heat b ut not too often.
Your temps were very much like mine Karen. I think 78 is a good temp. I will sit outside in the sun for that. Good test results.
What is the origin of pin money Lee?
K2, I havn;t eaten a store tomato in y ears. Most of the vehicles that come to our subdivsion pass our house and most of them are truck. I haven't seen a car here in a long time.
All of a sudden I feel like I'm getting a chest cold, I'm going to look it up with covid.

MIKE: If you have one of those COVID TEST KITS in the house use it.
If not, have one of the kids pick you one up. BETTER SAFE than SORRY.
I don't know how you could get Covid when you stay in the house or yard most of the time.
Perhaps one of the visitors brought it .... that is if you even have it. TAKE CARE.
My remedy is rub down with VICKS and get under the covers. And drink a lot of WATER!
All the best buddy.

We got a decent amount of rain for about 10 mins. Nothing big deal. Just made the humidity worse outside! o_O

DAVE: So, did you pick up anything NEW and FUN at the grocery store??

My goodness KC, it's a rarity for the rest of us Bunnies to be hotter than the weather that normally is all yours. (Except for Mike.)

"Pin Money" in the olden days is now called "Mad Money". Good to hear that your cholesterol count is coming down.

We never did make it to the grocery store yesterday morning. Once again Kathi fell out of bed overnight and she had a headache from the landing.

Lee; Pick-ups now have all the comforts and features of any car. (If you can crawl up into the cab. :) ) I wonder how long it'll be before some relative or friend asks to borrow Jill's.

Have you borrowed it yet K2 to move something? It's only a matter of time. Soggy here overnight too.

Another early morning doctor's check-up for me.

Then maybe Saturday to pick up some vittles.

I found this morning to be warmer and more humid than it’s been so far this week.
I don’t think we got Kathie’s storms overnight but they are in the forecast for today. Opening the door to a blast furnace was a perfect description of the heat last evening.
I chuckled at your comment about Jill’s new pickup Dave. You never do know how many friends you have until you have a pickup truck! Or a full sized van. I always enjoyed doing dealer trades involving a top of the line Ram. As you said, all the comforts of a luxury automobile rolled into a truck.
You make sure you take darned good care of that cold (let’s stick with that) Mike. Summer colds are the worst.
“Pin money” was originally the allowance a man gave a woman for her clothes. That was back in the 17th century. “Mad money” was an evolution of pin money and became a popular phrase in the 1920’s. Close your books class. The test begins now.
How are tricks on the east coast Bill? Any more thoughts on a walk in tub / shower? B
With Reverend Lisa back at the helm Karen, what things has she got planned to motivate and involve as many members of the congregation as she can?
It may start to rain here shortly but I think I’ll give the planters a wee drink anyway. The are somewhat sheltered on the porch.
Have a fine Friday and all of you take care of yourselves!

Good FRIDAY morning Wrabbits.

OH DEAR DAVE.......time to put the mattress down on the floor for your sweetie's protection. She's too young to be falling out of bed. Hope she's doing okay today.

Lee: We continued with the LIGHTNING and RAIN and the 'creek' proves it was a good long rain last night. Had some loud thunder every so often too.
Jill sent us a message that their POWER is OUT. A transformer blew during the storm last night and they have their generator hooked up to the upstairs refrigerator. Always Something

STILL HOT and MUGGY outside.

Karen: Keep working on keeping those cholesterol levels in line. Nobody wants the extra expense or trouble of having to take another pill. I have a friend that watches EVERYTHING she eats and her levels are still high and she has to be on meds. It's a 'hereditary' thing in her family.

Got a bill from Art's Dermatologist and if you call in and pay the bill with a credit card they add 3%. The nice bookkeeper said just save yourself some money and STAMP expense and drop it off next time you're in the area. No rush! What a sweetheart.

Not sure what's on my TO DO LIST today. I know I'm going to chop up some veggies and lettuce to have on hand for quick lunches and dinner. I'm trying to loose a few pounds this month. (we'll see how that goes) Ha Ha. Still not giving up my 1 cup of coffee a day.

You all be careful in these HOT DAYS. Chat later.

More of a dull ache now than a sharp pain. The PT suggested that I may have tried to do a bit too much the other day and that I might want to limit my exercise today and see if that helps. She also suggested that I sleep with a small pillow between my legs to minimize any strain that could be causing the problem. Will give that a try tonight.
Beat one of the two top teams in cribbage Tuesday night (6-4)n but we are still mired in third place. Three more weeks to see if we can improve our standings.
When I consider how difficult, and sometimes painful, I find it just to move these days, I have to marvel at what those gymnasts at the Olympics pull off every day. Truly amazing.
I can't remember ever wanting a truck, but both my son and son-in-law recently bought ones, so maybe it is a generational thing.
Sorry to read about Kathi's recent fall and hope it didn't seriously injure something. Maybe some bed rails would help prevent any further occurrences.
Stayed in the house yesterday to avoid the heat and humidity and said another
prayer of thanks for the AC. Do have an appointment this afternoon with the hearing aid center bur will likely head directly back home when that is done. At least with the Olympics, there are some things to watch on TV. Simone Biles is just simply terrific

Good afternoon, back in the "hot" seat again, 88 degrees, feels like 100, can't say for sure how accurate that is, I haven't even stuck my head out the door so far today!

Dave, you really need to stop pushing Kathi out of bed in the middle of the night! Hope she feels better soon, might not be a bad idea to get her checked out & make sure she doesn't have a concussion!

Kathie, that's a rare Dr. office for sure that isn't in a great hurry to get paid. I'm sure with all the business you & Art have given them over the years they aren't worried about payment.

Mike, hope you are feeling better this morning. Might be summer allergies kicking in too instead of a cold.

Lee, Rev Lisa's latest goal is to try & figure out ways to get families with children coming to church. We have a small teen group, but no young children to fill in once the teens are grown & off to college.

Bill, I've always wondered if the gymnasts stay as limber & pain free as they age? I can't even imagine attempting some of the routines those young people go thru!

Nada on the agenda today! Got the sheets changed on the bed & the bedroom cleaned and that's about it. Will go out tomorrow morning & do some weeding at a neighbors I am taking care of during the summer. With all the rain we've had spraying alone isn't keeping the weeds down in her patio area.
Have a great Friday all, it's the Weekend! :D

Just wanted to follow up and see how Kathi is doing after her tumble Dave. Sometimes it takes a day or so to know how you really feel.
Hopefully you're feeling like you're staying ahead of whatever seems to be testing you too Mike.
My favourite part of The Olympics will soon be here Bill. The end of the closing ceremonies! This grumpy old man does not like, not one bit, the "modern" Olympics. Too many professional athletes competing. Too many "XY chromosomes" being questioned and too many things that have no connection whatsoever to the original spirit of the Olympic Games.
That's rare that the doc's office was in no hurry for the payment for Art's visit Kathie. A nice change. It doesn't seem to matter what I do about my weight. I don't eat, it stays the same. I do eat, it stays the same. I just wish it would stay at a little lower "same".
We're in and out of storm warnings here since earlier this morning. They are issued and then cancelled. I fear that it will have the "boy who cried wolf" effect.
I was out early to get the front lawn tended to Karen. It was overcast and not too warm (it only felt like 80F) so I got the job done. That really does sound like a tough road ahead for Rev. Lisa and the rest of the church Karen. I don't see young families around here streaming off to church like when I was a kid.
Time to go and cut up some berries.
You all take care!

Karen: Good luck with getting kids to come to church after they graduate. In our church they DO COME on a regular basis until they're off to college. Most of the kids go out of state to college. (their parents have good jobs and both work) ;) They come back to church when they're on breaks if they're not off to some resort! ROUGH LIFE! Ha Ha.

Lee: I just wish we could see more than just SWIMMING and GYMNASTICS and VOLLEYBALL.
You have to be a TV NERD to find some of the other games and they're on in the middle of the night.
I felt SO BAD for the young gal that after 42 seconds had to call it quits in the wrestling match. She got NAIL, left and right, again and again by a XY chromosome player. That person tested for male genes, but it was within the limits according to the Olympic people. B.S. She looked like she (he) could take on Mohamad Ali if he was still around. Wait.... he was a boxer. Well, you know what I'm getting at.
Just NOT fair.
Regarding trying to Shead a few pounds .........can't doing any walking or biking outside in this heat and really don't like the treadmill, but I might push myself to give it a try.

Bill: I sleep with a soft small pillow between my knees ever since I had the knee surgery. It does take off any pressure. I made the pillow myself out of an old pillowcase and some Fiber filling I had from another craft. Hope it works for you.

Sirus XM on my car radio re-programed some of their channel offers and I CANNOT GET SPORTS anymore. I tried my best to get the lady to add it to my subscription, but in the end it would cost me $25. Even though it was for more months than I have now, it just isn't worth the money. I can always listen to 97.1 FM.

Okay, out of here for now. STAY COOL FOLKS!

POWER still OUT at Jill & Mark's. Better them than me is all I can say. o_O

Gonna rain hard. No, wait, it’s not. Yes it is. No. Yes. That has been the weather warnings we have been getting since early this morning. So far nothing.
Poor Jill, Mark, Eric, Ashley and Mr Manny! Humidex (real feel) here is pushing the upper 90‘s again. I saw that boxer too Kathie. “It” looks more like a man than most men I know.
