The big blue dot on the radar map is Belleview, most of debby the red/yellow is to the north of us. We had bands of heavy rain off & on all night and some gusting wind but nothing major. I did have 1 screen come loose on the back patio but it was loose on one side before, so now I just have to take the downspout off so I can get the one side back in the track.

Went to Art’s Retina appt.
They didn’t have him listed for today!

Good thing Art brought the piece of paper they give you with your appt date and time in it to show the gal at the desk!
All she had to say was…”somebody didn’t SAVE the appt given to him! Joy , Joy!
This is a minimum 2 hr appt and there were 5 people sitting in the lobby. I’ll come back in to be around for when Art actually sees the doctor!
On my way to Costco for Flour and Sugar! Finally ran out!

Always save your next appt reminder slip! I fought that the woman would believed Art if he didn’t show it to her!

No wonder the eye guy wasn’t expecting Art Kathie. The appointment was for ”Henry”. Good thing Henry didn’t show up and they could give the appointment to Art.
Lu-Ann’s appointment is tomorrow. Driving in the heat or the rain? Either way I just drive within the limits and watch out for the other people on the road. There are a number of Movement Disorder Specialists just over the bridge but they would be a fortune for us to see. There are two between here and Ayr where we used to live. The next closest ones are in Toronto. so that’s a two and a bit, three and a bit or four and a half hour drive. Pretty sad statement on the “free” healthcare we have in Canada.
With the heat the grass can wait to get cut so I’m off to the treadmill. Anyone care to join me?

Guess I am not the only one to get an appointment date wrong. Only in Art's case it was the provider while in mine it was all my fault. Read the appointment card too quickly and thought that my appointment at the hearing clinic was 8/2 when it is actually 8/12.
The only thing keeping me from getting a good night's sleep is my bladder which wakes me about every hour and a half. Overall the pain from the surgery has eased considerably and is usually only a dull ache and almost unnoticeable . The frequent sleep interruptions do leave me a bit sleepy during the day but moving around and doing my exercises does seem to help a bit.
Glad you look to be away from the storm, KC. Kevin and Jamie are in Tampa hoping to board their ship today. Their 5 night cruise has turned into a 4 nighter because the ship was held out at sea an extra day due to the weather. It reminded me of the time when we were held in Boston for two days on our cruise ship because of Hurricane Sandy. They told us that we were free to go home during that time but since they were feeding us, entertaining us and protecting us from the wind and rain, we stayed on board.

KAREN I’ve been following ther cable weather channel and it looks like you should be getting some of this Debby storm. Take care of you and your sisters too. I msaw some of the flooding on Longboat Key and Sarasota Circle in town and downtown Sarasota. There were. Tourist driving around in the dark just because they wanted to see what it wass like on the streets and beaches. Even surfers needed rescue out in the Gulf. The waves are huge and then surfers don’t think about the danger. Young and crazy. They don’t realize that the rescue trucks are busy with people in the neighbor with even bigger issues.

When you get a chance let us know how your neighborhood is doing. And of course your house. Hope the plants on the patio stand up to the winds.


KAREN when you can, make sure to get us post about how you are and the area. You know how we worry about each other.

Temps have come down about 10 degrees just about 1 hour ago (8:24 pm).
The humidity is almost gone and there is a steady breeze..... YUP, we're going to get that hard RAIN on Tuesday for sure!

My brother, that lives not far from me, is stopping by on his way to or from Costco on Tuesday. I called him and told him I had a Poppyseed & Nut roll for him and my Sister-in-law! I was going to deliver them, but he said he would be 4 intersections away and would save me the trip!

I've seen some of the flooding in Sarasota and they got a lot of rain. Fort Meyers that is STILL recovering from the huge hurricane that ripped the entire gulf area apart got hit hard again. Those people who actually do have a home or condo there just can't get a break.

Good morning from a very soggy Amherstburg.
Thunder and lightening here since at least 5:30. No early walk for either Ava or I. She’s been invited to spend the day at friends instead of them dropping over to let her out. Very kind of them.
I’m sure our drive will seem longer if the weather stays nasty. Then there’s the whole how long will the doctor be running behind. We waited about three hours, yep you read that right, one time. Another visit we walked in ten minutes early and he saw us straight away.
Anyway, I just wanted to pop on and say “Good morning” to everyone and wish you all a good, safe day!

So it's WET TUESDAY! The creek is up from all the rain overnight and early this morning. Just waiting for more to start up again.
As in Baseball....It's a RAIN OUT!

I have a HUGE Mosquito bite on my right shoulder that makes me look like I have a major TUMOR there. I remembering going out into the garage and getting 3 bottles of water to bring inside. That doesn't take but a second or two. Shortly after that I start to feel the ITCH coming on and put my hand on my shoulder and YUP the hard as a rock bump is doing it's thing. HATE being so allergic to those bug bites.

DAVE: Art's eye scans show that his Aneurism from 2019 is much corrected since the Laser was used on it in January of this year. He doesn't have to go back for another appointment until August of 2025! The best part is that the visit was only $10 bucks. Gotta love the new UAW contract they got for workers and retirees.

Karen, I hope the rains have stopped by you. I see that Debby is making all kinds of turns and twist as she moves along. Take care. And please have one of your sisters around if you attempt to try and put that SCREEN back into the track. We don't need you falling off a ladder.

Looks like you called it, K2. Governor Walz it is according to the news media. Not exactly someone who I was especially familiar with, but what I have read about him and his record as governor, he looks to be a great pick.
I envy your 8 hours of sleep, Mike. Right now I would give almost anything for three or four hours of uninterrupted dozing.
Waiting to hear if Kevin and Jamie are finally onboard their cruise ship and hoping that the area in FT Myers isn't too severely impacted by the storm. We are seriously considering returning there this coming winter.

I watched Karmala at Philly introducing her running mate. WOW!
From the Gov of Pennsylvania doing a bang up job in his intro speech to Karmala matching his speech and then to Tim Walz going over the top with his speech it was ABSOLUTELY AMAZING! I don’t go overboard when it comes to listening to these candidates and their rwa-raw speeches, but if you can get on YouTube and listen to tonights speeches you would get the feeling WE, THE AMERICAN PEOPLE MIGHT BE ON TO A RENEWAL of keeping America’s democracy and avoiding having a jerk King in office.

Can’t wait to get my lawn signs. I’m going to try and have one made up with this on it. ( must be centered)

Mike our temps went DOWN TO 57 tonight at one point with heavy winds. It came back up later to 65F.
Ducks are doing “Duck Olympic Races“ going South with the small white caps from the wind pushing them along. Funny to watch.
