You are one lucky Bunny KC on being home when that water pipe in your half-bath burst. I gather that there is a shut-off valve in there. A lot of people wouldn't have known what to do. Jane's home ISN'T air conditioned??? Heck, I wouldn't stay one night in Florida this time of year if the hotel room wasn't air conditioned. Hope you got a lot of help working around the church yesterday.

It's National Lazy Day! So don't make any plans to do anything. Otherwise, you're an overachiever. :)

Lee; I know the frustration of waking up just 30 minutes before you normally would just to pee. I just stay up. Otherwise I'll spend what little is left of that 30 minutes peeking at the clock on the nightstand.

I've got to admit Bill that I've never heard of a cruise line called Margaritaville. But I do like smaller ships and not those big monsters. Our favorite ship has always been Majesty Of The Seas.

Computers can drive us nuts, Mike.

I got a Harris-Walz yard sign from Amazon last night. Should be here next week. While shopping for one on Amazon I thought of you, K2.

They also sell a yard sign you could give to your daughter. You could customize it to read;
Manny, (have a picture of him), 2024. And at the bottom it says, CAUSE MOST HUMANS SUCK!

Oh geez Karen! A real touch of good luck that you were home and caught it when you did.
I can only assume we’re on for our annual Bills / Patriots wager Bill? I think both games are in December!
My allergies are acting up this morning so, and the peasants did rejoice, I’m cutting my morning visit short.
I sure hope the allergy pill kicks in. We are going to a murder mystery at Fort Malden this evening and I didn’t get tickets for Mr. Drip and Mr. Sniffle!
Everyone have a great day and look out for the other guy!

My allergies effect affect my eyes lee. it feels like a grain of sand in them. I do have meds for it that work well.
Dave, I think the National lazy Day was named for me.
A cool 79 today

Some of the photos of the Margaritaville ship reminded me of the Majesty of the Seas, Dave. That was also one of our favorites as well.
Went to a 50th birthday party for the son of one of our friends today. Quite a turnout and they even had a food truck there making delicious pizzas as part of the refreshments. There was a very nice swimming pool in the back yard which was getting plenty of use from the younger guests. Although we were in the shade under a large canopy, it was very hot and humid so after about three hours Rita and I headed back to our air-conditioned home.
I'm more than willing to accept more of your sheckels in our annual wager Lee. Not sure how the Pats are going to do this season but hope springs eternal.

Dave: I wish I would have gotten on here EARLIER to know that today was
National LAZY Day!
I was definitely an
overachiever. Was out the door at 10 a.m. and didn't get back home until 2:45 pm. Busy, busy, busy. Not much of it was for me either! DUH! But all of it felt good.
Too tired to write about it all. It was all good!

Karen, my dear, how are you doing down there with the floors? Hope you don't get any mold growing. Hope it's all okay.

How about the USA Men's Basketball team winning GOLD over France. What a fantastic last 5 mins. If you were into basketball you would want to see the replay a few times. WOW.

Mike: I have dry-eye at times and I'm suppose to use drops everyday. Well, I don't. I use them AS NEEDED. If it gets really sandy I have a optical ointment and I put a tiny, tiny bit on my upper eye lid rim and it takes care of the issue without blurring my vision.
Aways Something.

Lee:
Hope your allergies have calmed down. It's MUCH cooler and less humid tonight, so that might help.

I opened ALL the bathroom and bedroom windows to let the cool air in.

Now watch somebody start a PIT FIRE tonight~ After all it is a perfect night for it.
69F and dropping as I type!

Out of here. Have a good Sunday all. And be kind to each other.

Not much to gab about this morning....So just some random thoughts.

A food truck at a birthday party. That's cool.

The grocery store did have French baguette bread when we went shopping yesterday. Chewy on the inside, crispy crust. YUMMY. To do it right, maybe we should watch the closing ceremonies of the Olympic games with some of it and some French wine.

Way too many different flavor mixtures in too many products. Also at the grocery store they had watermelon/mint flavored vodka.

I was thinking about Kamala Harris's choice for her Vice President, Tim Walz. I don't know about you but I have never met anyone that has only 4 letters in their last name.

We can all use blessings these days! It looks like it's going to be a really nice day here in
PURE MICHIGAN! A good day for a drive around the lake and up towards Lexington or Port Huron or even St Clair. They're all along Lake St Clair.
I just filled up my car with gas yesterday at $3.14 a gallon. I used my grocery fuel credits! Costco gas was the same price as Kroger's yesterday. That's unusual for Costco. They've always been less. Hope that's not going to be the norm!

Dave: As for the hopeful next V.Pres having only 4 letters in his last name I bet his KIDS loved it when they went to school and had to memorize their last name. :) Some of the last names in our church have 10-12 letters to them. I really feel bad for those kids.

Slept really good with all the windows open last night and NO SMOKEY STINKY WOOD FIRES! They really missed a good night to do that. Maybe it was just too cool too fast for them to handle.

Lee: Hope your allergies aren't bugging you too much.

Talk to you all later! All but DAVE. He only shows up here 5:00 a.m. and we don't see hear from him again until the next day. But that's okay, because I always LOVE SEEING his First Post in the morning!

Being Sunday I think it’s OK to say “As God is my witness earlier this morning I was distracted by something shiny.” I was here at 7:00 and then I was into something else.
How’s everyone doing this fine “Pure Michigan” day?
The allergies settled down which was nice for me and those around me. I primarily get the drippy nose and plugged ears Mike. But I do sometimes feel like the Shara Desert is in my eyes.
The water down our way in The River is a simply stunning shade of blue today Kathie. We headed out to Kingsville and drove along 50 which runs, for the most part, along The River. Have you ordered that lawn sign for Manny yet?
“A piece of French bread with which to wipe my bowl. Good for the body, good for the soul” as Jimmy Buffett sang. It sounds like you enjoyed your bread Dave. And yes, many Parisians do sit with a French stick, some cheese, grapes and a bottle of wine for lunch!
Oh William, here you go crying The Patriot blues again. Let me think back to last year now. Oh yes, I sent you not one but TWO George Washington’s. After last nights drubbing at the hands (paws?) of “Da Bears” my hopes aren’t high either.
Did you get a good group out to the church cleanup yesterday Karen? I sure hope so. More to the point I hope your flood was easily taken care of with no damage. A good reason to, as we do, turn the water off when we’re away for even a few days. I’m still trying to wrap my head around no AC in FL.
Last night’s murder mystery at Fort Malden was very well done. The staff, who were in costume, did an excellent job answering questions and staying in character. It all culminated with those pesky rebels from Michigan attempting to attack our fort. The brave young soldiers from our garrison won the skirmish and captured one of the raiders who revealed who had poisoned the victim. A good night’s entertainment for $20.
Time to hit the “Wheel of Exercise”. If it stays nice we’ll likely go back down to The Fort for a stroll this evening. I don’t think there’s a special event tonight.
Anyway, enjoy this day and keep smiling. It will make others wonder what you’ve been up to. ;)

Lee: Good to know you're Allergies are better today. The Murder Mystery sounds like it was fun.
NO... not going to order the lawn sign for Manny's house, but it was a cute idea from Dave!

The Clouds are rolling in with the Pesty WIND we're having here right now. The SUN COMES out and then the mass of clouds drift by, etc, etc. We wanted to take a drive by the lake, but
I'm thinking it might have to wait for another day.
I put on a sweatshirt to go outside and of course the SUN comes out in full blast. Strange day out there.

Some of my HS classmates only had four letters in t
thier last name Dave, my grandkids have 12. Their Mother taught them a little song to help them learn how to spell their last name. That doesn't appeal to me at all Dave, watermelon mint flavored vodka. If it was choclate flavored I might consider it.
I'm pretty lucky with my allergies Lee, my eyes will bother me about every 6 or 7 days and one drop of the eye drops and they are okay. It is so nice you can take your stroll and enjoy them. The Ohio river where I lived was mostly a muddy brown. It is better here near Cinci. I used to walk along the Great Miami River years ago, dependint on the rain it on how it would look.
Hope you enjoy the ride around the lake K2

A couple of photos from last evening. The surviving pesky rebel in custody. After he identified the woman who poisoned the wine. A lone sentry on duty keeping an eye across The River towards Michigan.

Good evening!

Lee, thanks for the "battle" pics, sounds like a fun and very reasonably priced evening out!
Bill, I can't say that I've ever been to a birthday party with it's own food truck, sounds like a pretty neat idea.
Kathie, I will gladly take some of your cool weather, it's HOT as ever down here. Getting into my truck after church this morning it was to hot to even touch the steering wheel at first!
Dave, there isn't much that a crusty loaf of french bread doesn't make even better! There used to be a bakery in St. Augustine that made only bread, you could smell it baking from blocks away & it was soooo GOOD! And funny enough, Rev. Lisa's sermons the last 2 Sundays have been about bread!
Mike, glad to hear your allergies aren't an every day problem.

To clarify, Jane's house "had" central air in it when she moved in, but it broke down a long time ago & she just never spent the money to have it replaced. She has window units in the bedrooms, and had a portable one for the kitchen/living room area but that one quit working a few weeks ago. She thinks it got hit by lightning.

We had 5 of us for the work day yesterday at church, my friend Pam came & helped out. Us 3 ladies only lasted about an hour & a half, but the guy's held out for another hour trimming bushes in the shade. It did look nice this morning when I pulled in

Unfortunately the flooring in the guest room is curling up at the edges a little bit from Fridays flood. I don't think any water actually got "under" the flooring, so I'm not to concerned about mold, but will keep an eye out just in case. It will need to be replaced eventually & I plan to change over to a wood look LVP, will make it easier to take care of.

And somehow, someway I have managed to lose my bottom denture! I have a bad habit of taking them out when they are hurting my mouth and just setting them down somewhere. I did that Friday afternoon and have turned the house & my truck upside down looking for them, with no luck. I even had Rev. Lisa say a prayer for me this morning. I did have an email from the dentist that it is time for me to come in & have the new impressions done & the permanent set made, so I need to make an appt. & get that done.
Mowing day at Jane's tomorrow for her back yard, so catch up with you all later on.

Karen: I know what it's like to keep looking and looking for something you KNOW IS IN THE HOUSE! After all, that denture didn't just pick up and walk out of the place. It's there hiding somewhere. If you used a mop to clean up the water look in the mop head. Under the carpet. If it had metal on the dentures see if any of your friends has a metal detector you can run through the place! I'll say a prayer that you find it too.
Talking about trimming shrubs/bushes etc, I really need to pick a day and do ours. Either that or I'll have to give in and call somebody to do it and to me that would be just a waste of good money since I can still handle doing it myself. The front one day and the back another. It will happen. Glad your church property looked good on the drive in today. I guess in Florida you have to keep up with it MORE OFTEN since it's so hot and humid. :D

Lee: Thanks for the pictures of they Mystery battle. Made it easier to see how it was played out.

Dave: I found one sign that I like, but it didn't have VP Walz's name on it. I'll do a tad more looking.

Mike:
Never did do the drive around the Lake/water today. The wind and clouds coming in and out made up our mind. We wanted to eat outside at the same restaurant we were at last time. The food was really good and being just feet from the water was great that day. It would have been WAY TO WINDY to be outside today. There's always another day.

So, the Olympics are over. NOW WHAT DO WE WATCH??? Duh?? They did fill in the last few weeks nicely.

Since all the 2-wheeled soldiers are standing at attention at the end of driveways, it must be Monday.

Although I've never met anyone with a last name with 4 or less letters in their last name, my Arizona daughter has 2 friends that do. I can't remember the second one but the first one had a last name of Lee. Not an oriental family but one like the southern general in the Civil War. Robert E. Lee.

K2; I normally don't post except in the morning, but I usually check in once during the day to see what ya'll are gabbing about. PLEASE don't hurt yourself with all the trimming bushes and shrubs. KNOW when to call it a day, and not push through just to get it finished.

So happy for you Lee that your allergies have calmed down. Add the Browns to your list of teams that bit the dust on their first pre-season game. Thanks so much for the pictures of your murder mystery performance. I had no idea that it was done outdoors.

Ya got me nosey Mike. So I looked up chocolate vodka. Yes, there are companies that make it. Next time I go, I'll have to see if our local booze store carries it.

KC; Jane must have a higher tolerance for heat than I do. At least she has bedroom window air conditioners. Sucks that the floor in your guest room started curling up. I can't imagine having no bottom chops.

Monday already. With it being darker for our morning walk you can almost tell weekdays from weekends by the lights on in houses as folks get ready to head off to work.
I was going to say that misplacing your denture “just bites” Karen. But I won’t. I don’t know if a heavy constriction fan may dry out your flooring and get it to sit back down. But with the humidity in FL please keep an eye out for mold.
We’ve sampled chocolate vodka at the liquor store. I’m not generally a spirits drinker but this sure was smooth Mike.
Ya, a food truck at a birthday party Bill? That is neat.
It was quite windy here yesterday afternoon too Kathie. That wind blew in some rain clouds and we had a “Florida style” afternoon rain. It really came down for about 15 minutes and 15 minutes after that it was all dry again. The only person who trims plants the way you like them is you. I’m the same way. I agree. Keep doing them as long as you are able.

3 and 4 letter surnames. That really got me thinking too Dave. I went to school with a Tim Beck. Recently Elon Musk has been in the headlines. But when isn’t he? We used to take Bear to a veterinary dental specialist named Dr. Hale. The late comedian Wally Cox popped into mind for the 3 letter category.
Which, of course, led me to thinking about this tune all about names…

Dave, our closest friends have a 4 letter name- Mays and I went to high school with a fellow whose last name was Lee, so I guess it isn't quite as rare as we might think. And three presidents of recent memory had 4 letter names- Ford and Bush.
Off to get my hearing aid checked out. This time I have the date and time of the appointment correct ( I hope).
A lot less humidity today and, hopefully, the rest of the week, so I look forward to getting outside for a while.

Happy Day Coffee GIF

Quick check in to let you know I'm around!
Didn't get to sleep early enough last night while watching replay of Olympic Closing Ceremonies. (I missed all but the very ending during the day) PARIS did a great job.

All projects are on hold today. Just dragging! Hope it's just from lack of good sleep.

You all be good and Dave I think there must be TONS of flavored Vodka on at the big liquor stores these days. Any flavor you can think of. Find a BIG LIQUOR store in the nearby area and take a stroll through it. We have one place that could take you hours to walk through. Crazy big. This one below is 5 miles from our house.

Dave: I just googled Liquor stores in Massillon, OHIO and you guys are real short on hard liquor stores. Your laws are tight. You could plan a vacation around coming up to see our HUGE liquor stores. :(
