I hope you enjoyed your walk Lee.
K2, I never thought of taking a ride around tne back yard today, I think I will do it tomorrow. It has been a while since I have done that.
Dave. listened to a lot of dino in my teens but I have never heard little old drinker me. I read the comments on it and it was a favorite of a lot of people. Thanks for posting it.
Karen, I bet your choir did a fine job and enjoyed singing.

Good Labor Day morning!

Advertisers and businesses never miss a chance on holidays to make a buck....But I can't remember what product they want us to buy on Labor Day. (You know you can't live without it.)

Speaking of pancakes and such; Just the other day Kathi purchased a miniature waffle maker. So small that they can be made, frozen, and then brought out to be reheated in the toaster. Kind of like those "Eggos". Let go of my Eggo, was their catch line.

BUT since Kathi collects all sorts of things about frogs, like stuffed animals, statues, and T-shirts, this waffle maker has the normal waffle pattern on one side and the face of a frog on the other.

No BBQ or picnic for us today, just a dreaded visit, for me, of the son & wife and their 8 kids. It's an invasion, not a visit. Who knows what they'll get into this time. Parental control barely exists. Tuesday can't get here soon enough.

I couldn’t seem to get the site to open for me earlier this morning.
I so wanted to jump on and wish all of the Mom‘s having babies today a Happy Labour Day.

I also had problems trying to get on this morning, seems to be working ok now, finger's crossed.

Mike, no rocks in the spot where I dug the new mailbox post luckily, at least none big enough to keep me from getting the post set. Enjoy your ride around the back yard.

Lee, $7 a bottle for a quality wine isn't a bad price at all, are the wine bottles reusable after they've been emptied?

Dave, hope you survive the invasion today, not sure I could handle a bunch of rowdy uncontrolled kids without intervening & making them behave.

Kathie, glad to hear Rick has been transferred to a facility where he can get the specialize care he needs. Will keep him in my prayers as I know he has a long road to recovery

Got Jane's new mailbox installed this morning, but the next time I go over to mow I want to "tweak" the install a bit, it's not as stable on the post as I wanted, but it looks good & she's happy so that's a win. Jane even fixed baked Ziti for lunch today, if she keeps feeding me like this I'll have to find some more projects that need to be done.

We did end up with 9 people in choir yesterday since 2 people who didn't make it to practice Thurs. sang with us yesterday. Rev. Lisa also said a special prayer for us before our morning rehearsal so I'm sure that helped too, we didn't sound great, but not horrible either.
I'm supposed to be meeting Barb at the pool at 5 but I'm seeing dark clouds starting to roll in so not sure if that's going to happen or not.
Enjoy your holiday weekend everyone!

Karen,
Fay asked some friends if they would like some tomatoes and if so come and get them. We sat and talked a while and after they left I just sat there for a while. I didn't take my ride arounf the yard on my tractor. picture below. I'm glad you felt your choir sounded okay. As long as you are satisfied tha is all that matters.
Dave, I haven't had pancakes for a long time, the next time Fay says she doesn't l know what to fix, I will mention pancakes.

I so wanted to jump on and wish all of the Mom‘s having babies today a Happy Labour Day. so that is why we celebrate labor day
Have a good evening.

In the mid 40's at the moment. Don't want to get used to that.

It's Tuesday morning and I did survive yesterday's invasion. Although I'm wondering if birth control can be made retroactive. Trust me, the locks I put on closets and bedroom doors DO work wonders.

I'm glad that your 9 person choir worked out, KC.

You sure are kicking out the tomatoes, Mike. And to think that you weren't sure whether or not to grow them this year.

Well phooey. As of Sunday evening Direct TV is no longer broadcasting ABC shows. It seems that they have a contract that ran out to show them with it's owner, the Disney corporation. As usual, it's all about money.

I'm hopeful that because of all the sports now on the weekends there'll be extra pressure on these companies to come to an agreement. Otherwise Direct TV just might have a bunch of their customers switch to other providers.

Spot on 50F here this morning.
It sounds like everyone had a pretty good day yesterday. What amazed be, as it seems to do more often than not, were all of the stores that were open yesterday. Seems only government offices and banks were closed.
Yesterday kinda got away from me as we had a nice BBQ at Jim and Gail’s. A few chores in the morning and then around the corner for the afternoon. At 72F nobody showed any interest in getting in the unheated pool.
This morning Lu-Ann and I head to town to see Betty for hair cuts. She’s going to do mine while Lu-Ann’s colour sets. I’m hoping I can get home and cut the front lawn before I need to go back for Lu-Ann. It’s nice that town is only 10 minutes away.
Your picture on your yard tractor made me think of the lyrics from a Vince Gill song Mike…

“Well she might've took my car keys
But she forgot about my old John Deere”

Wrong tractor brand but, well, you get the idea.
Biggest job Dave has today is returning all those door and cupboard locks to Costco. “Thanks, but I only needed them for the day”.
I would say if Jane is happy just leave the next little tweak to the mount for the next time your’re hungry Karen. ;)
Have you and Art been able to navigate the hospital to visit Rick Kathie. I laughed at the thought, and a good one it was, of parking close by and calling an Uber!
Best get my butt in gear.
Each and every one of you enjoy this fine back to school Tuesday. Well, it’s back to school in our area so there will be lots of distracted kids heading to the buses!

Hope everything is ok with Kathie, it's not like her to miss a day posting. Hopefully Art & her were off doing something fun yesterday.

I was wondering the same thing Karen. Maybe Kathie had trouble getting on yesterday morning as wee. Perhaps that ended up at the Anderson Cottage on The Lake.

Opened my Cruise Addicts site and WHA-LA.... I never pressed the SEND button on my last post! DUH. I'll post it now and then move on!

Good Mid-Morning Wrabbits! LIKE WOW..... it was COLD here this morning. 51 degrees.
We're up to 65 degrees right now at 10:23 a.m. I have a cotton jacket on while walking around in the house and long lightweight slacks!
WAY TOO EARLY for this kind of temps!
I bet a LOT of retired folks are looking for Winter Vacation rentals today! HaHa.

DAVE:
My sympathies to you for the "Family VISIT"! What's the reason for this joyous visit?

HELP I need to get away, they're after me!

Happy Labor Day to all who celebrate! It's a low key day here for us.

I talked to my loyal ACE HDWE guy and he didn't recommend the Hedge Trimmer I was looking to buy. Said it didn't have a big enough voltage battery. After talking it over with Art I'm going to be looking for a GOOD Cordless Leaf Blower instead. We'll both get more use out of that investment than the Hedger. Dragging a cord around while chasing leaves is a pain. I like to get in the middle of the street and blow the leaves back towards the curb and that takes a LOT OF CORD. So now I just need to investigate a good Leaf Blower to invest in.
They had one with the CHARGER, BATTERY and BLOWER and I just need to read up on the brand. It came in a GREEN BOX.

Kathie, glad to hear all is well in pure Michigan! If the blower brand you are looking at is Greenworks that's a pretty good product. My battery powered mower was a greenworks & Jane's electric mower is the same, it's been going strong for 4 yrs now.

Okay, let's try this posting stuff again.
Tuesday Morning Day GIF by Titounis
I think I got that correct! :emoticon 0102 bigsmile:

We had a really nice day on Monday (yesterday).
Went to see Mr Manny for a quick visit. I brought him a chew stick and he went right at it.
The kids were all going to the Anderson Cottage, so we didn't stay long at all.
Art and I drove downtown to see RICK. The poor guy looks miserable. His hand and arm movements IMPROVED a lot since we last saw him. He still can't swallow very well and is on IV's. If that doesn't get better he'll get the feeding tube through his nose to get him more nutrients.
Be careful while MOVING AROUND in general folks. Lying in a hospital bed is not a good way to go. Watch for sidewalks that are uneven, throw rugs that could catch your feet, etc, etc. (we have throw rugs in front of the sink and stove with rubbery mats under them to hold them down and I still catch a toe on the ends) Go figure.:eek:

After our visit w/Rick we drove around downtown since it wasn't crowded with "worker folks". Yikes, have things changed down there. I use to know every inch of Downtown Detroit and now there are new buildings on the streets and ONE-WAY signs where they never were before. It was fun driving up to Comerica Park where the Tigers play ball and see all the people taking pictures in front of the HUGE TIGER statue. No trouble parking and getting out for a picture!

IMG_1356.jpeg
On the way towards home we took the Lakeshore drive. The water was CHOPPY. And there were no restaurants open to get something to eat. It was like ghost town everywhere. We finally found a Little Cesars Pizza place and got a Hot & Ready pizza and 2 soft drinks and pulled into a banks parking lot and ate it. That was around 5pm. We hadn't had anything to eat since around 8 a.m. and that pizza tasted like steak! :emoticon 0102 bigsmile::clap002:

I need to move along here. Loved reading all the CHATTER from you all.
Have a good rest of the day.

Karen: You need to make a sign that says: "Will work for LUNCH"! Too funny! :emoticon 0136 giggle:
Just saw your post, Karen.
It was E-Goo or something like that. I'm still looking around. I have to be able to hold the thing without it breaking my wrist. Some of those blowers are HEAVY!

Belle Isle Scott Fountain. Lots of people on the island having picnics! Nice to see.

Well now there’s a collective sigh of relief from The Hutch! Glad it was only a “brain fart” (can I say that? Guess we’ll see.) that had you missing yesterday Kathie.
Again, I’m reminded of how special this group is when one of us doesn’t check in for even one day. Thank you all for that.
After our hair appointments, walking Her Royal Highness, The Princess Ava of Amherstburg, (That’s what one of the folks we bumped in to at The Navy Yard called her) and lunch I took 18 minutes and cut the front lawn. Didn’t trim today. Now Lu-Ann and I are enjoying a nice glass of wine on our back sittin’ area.
And raising a toast to each one of you.

Good morning.
Seems I am the first one up in the hutch this morning. That’s odd. So I will be very, very quiet.
Why am I thinking “pancakes”?
Wish you all a fine day. And pop back later to check on everyone.

Another day starts in the 40's. I am NOT ready for those kinds of temperatures just yet. But in 6 months we'd give anything for a 50 degree day.

Glad you got your pancakes, Mike. And by the big blank area below your post, I'm guessing that you also had a picture to share.

KC; I see that you too are getting sold on electric/battery powered tools.

Nice to see you back K2. Oh that little detail on posting is to use that "SEND" button. Good to hear that your friend Rick is making some improvements. Oh for our younger years when we all had rubber bones.

That's a great title, Lee; The "Princess Ava of Amherstburg". That made me grin. I've been meaning to tell you of a TV commercial they've been running here. All it has is music and pictures of people in formal outfits at a fancy shmansy building, wining and dining. And ends just saying, "The Chateau". Not saying what it is or where it is.

I was guessing that it was a casino or resort. And my curiosity made me look it up. Turns out it's a 5 star hotel up in Canada. (And one that is obviously out of my price range.)

67F SUNNY and temps climbing. I'll take back the HUMID, MUGGY days and not complain. Not a fan of these early Fall colder morning temps. :(
I must say my ankles are not swollen these last few days because of the lack of humidity. Good time to go and find some new sneakers/walking shoes or whatever they are called these days!
I have one pair of sneakers that WILL NOT be worthy of being handed down to act as garden shoes. They LOOK GOOD, but my feet just don't like them at all. I tried new inserts and still no luck. They're getting tossed!
I like my open toe black-rubbery type shoe for doing yard work, especially if the hose is being used. I do wear closed toed shoes when doing trimming!
shopping

I have had a SLIGHT case of Vertigo the past few days. Lived with it until yesterday when I googled what can help it and took an Antihistamine = Benadryl pill. Well, it really helped me out. So far so good this morning. I did read up on some head exercises you can do to RE-SET your equilibrium! Yup, they have exercises for everything! :emoticon 0136 giggle:

Art went off to the Dermatologist early this morning to get the top of his head dug out AGAIN. This appt was needed after they took yet another sample and sent it off to see if it was malignant (or whatever they call it when it's on the skins surface). It was and today is his day to sit and have them cut and test until they find a CLEAR NON-Malignant area. He'll come home with a big white bandage on the top of his head. Not fun at all. Use your Sunscreen folks! Around the ears and neck and front chest if you have a V-neck shirt or top.

BILL: If you're reading along or if Rita is know that we are all thinking of you and hope you are either home by now or almost ready to go home. Sure would be nice to get a report from one of you. We worry about our HUTCH FAMILY members that are missing in action on here. Take care and get better.

I'm off of here to pay some bills.
I sent Art to the Dermatologist office with a CHECK to pay his office bill we got in the mail yesterday. (good timing on their part) They want 3% of a bill these days if you use a Credit Card. Well, that's not going to happen in this household. Art laughed when I gave him the check and invoice to pay it. He said: "
Do people still use checks". Some people like me still do. And this particular Dr's office is close enough to save the postage of $.73 cents. Crazy how much postage has gone up. Just INSANE.

I sent a registered return signature required letter in May to Atlanta and just got back the
GREEN Card showing the person that signed for the mail. It got signed in the Middle of July and I just got the card back yesterday. And that process cost me a lot more than $.73 cents. Ttifff as Tony would say!

Later gang. Enjoy the nice AFTERNOON as the temps rise!

Mike you should have some nice SITTING OUTSIDE WEATHER this week. Enjoy.

Hey there all!
The are many “Chateau” Hotels in Canada Dave. There is also a Chateau event facility in Trenton, MI.
So, add me to the bunnies who had pancakes this morning. I think the mix I used used to be Aunt Jemima but now it is Pearl Milling or some thing. Ya, Ava seemed to soak up the attention and name this person called her.
I hope that the world stops spinning for you Kathie. I occasionally get what the doc called
a-typical migraines. Sounds similar and is often triggered by changes in the seasons and barometric pressure. Good thoughts going out to Art and his appointment.
That’s robbery by all these places that charge a fee for using a credit card. And it’s not just your dermo place. We have a bakery that won’t take a credit card unless your purchase is $50.00 or more and then they ding you an additional 5%! I guess that’s why, on principal alone, we don’t go there any more!
My battery powered lawn mower, which I successfully used out back this morning, is a Ryobi. They are partnered with and available at Home Depot. They have a huge line of battery powered products but I think they cater more towards the home owner than the professional. Anyway, there’s enough of them around this neighbourhood.
Ladies night tonight so I’ll be enjoying the walk at Fort Malden with just “The Princess” and I.
Be good everyone.

2 School children and 2 teachers SHOT DEAD at 10:00'ish this morning in Georgia. (don't know the city name right now and it really doesn't matter) Shooter was a 14 yr old student that attended that school. One golf coach was shot in the leg and a shot shattered his hip. I think others were sent to the hospital. Most likely we'll here more on the later news. Along with the usual "Thoughts & Prayers" they always add.
It will never end. It's worst than insane.
That district will get little to no help from it's representative.... because he is supported by the NRA and is a GUN ADVACATE.

Have a peaceful walk Lee and be glad you live in CANADA where gun control is tighter.

Art spent a RECORD 6 hours starting at 8:30 a.m. He was the only one there at 8:30 a.m. and got into a room at 9:00 a.m. Go figure. The waiting and waiting in between slices/digs was what took up all the time. The Doctor apologized for Art having to spend basically the entire day there.
The doctor should have surgery days only to avoid having to see regular patients and making people like Art have to sit so long after they take the cut. It's a good thing it wasn't me having to wait that long. Hmmmm!

I sent a
Message to both Rita & Bill asking how things are going. Seems they share a Facebook address! I'll let you know if I get a response. Hope his Pneumonia issue is getting better.

Out of here for now.

Another instance of "Why?" in Winder, Georgia.
I hope that the doc's office at least offered Art something to eat and or drink during his marathon office visit Kathie.
I dropped Lu-Ann around the corner. Thee ladies are headed to Wolfhead Distillery for the last "Cosmo Night" of the year. Tonight they are collecting donations for kids school lunches. Ava and I then headed to Fort Malden. Downtown parking can be busy but unless there's a special event there's lots of space at the fort. One other gentleman out for a walk and one lady on a bicycle were the only other folks we bumped in to. One of those GIGANTIC freighters cut its' way silently up river toward Detroit. So basically, we had the place to ourselves.
I do hope that Bill is on the mend too!
Have a good evening my friends.
